They need a way better seating policy. absolutely unacceptable. We were waiting in line, ordered our food, and someone had put their stuff down to "reserve" the table, when it is completely packed. And they hadn't ordered yet. It should not be like that. There should be proper seating, where ONCE you order, you go find your table. If you don't get a table then you wait your turn. We ask the staff if we can put personal items to reserve a table and she said yes??? What sort of service is that ?!? They should have a host. Or someone guiding it. I have been wanting to try this restaurant based on their Yelp reviews and today was the day. We were looking for a Mexican restaurant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and we chose to try out Chuponcito. It turns out it was taco Tuesday as well ! They offer 3 soft or crunchy tacos with your choice of protein for $10 so I ordered a chicken tinga, carnitas and beef taco. All were delicious! They also offer buy one alcoholic beverage ( beer, wine or sangria) and get the second one free. Such a great deal! My husband ordered the chimichanga beef burrito and he really enjoyed his selection too. We will definitely be back as I want to try their breakfast options. First of all we got mimosas galore. Tried blood orange , pomegranate and watermelon. Best was watermelon. Their lilac almond coffee was also good. Friend enjoyed her horchata. We drank too many mimosas and forgot our lattes that we were able to get in to go cups. Alas. I got the papas cargadas. The potato/ egg/ cheese/ bacon/ avocado / sauce / sour cream and whatever else was in it was just delicious. Friend 1 got her usual bfast burrito. We tried it. Fantastic. Very good chorizo! I consider myself a chilaquiles connoisseur and I am often disappointed. Chuponcito has some of the BEST chilaquiles I have ever had ( outside of my own home of course lol). The chips are house fried which makes them less likely to get soggy and the sauce is absolutely delicious! I added carnitas and they were so flavorful!! My other half got the carnitas Benedict and he was blown away! The English muffins were huge and fluffy. Hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. For bebidas (drinks) I ordered the Mayan mocha which a bittersweet flavor which is exactly what I wanted! Chuponcito has big portions and everything we tried was honestly AMAZING. My one single complaint is the cloth napkins have a detergent scent that is distracting when wiping my face, I would switch to a scent less detergent as to not deflect from the amazing meal! read more

This place is amazing, the horchata latte is probably the best one I've had. The chilaquiles were crispy and the sauce was different to what I'm used to but it had so much flavor and not too much spice either. I added chorizo and it did not disappoint. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I totally would! It's a cute little breakfast spot that my friend took me too. She did say it is owned by an older married couple. I shared the steak fajita's, chicken quesadilla and the elote salad with my dad and it's hard to pick which was the best out of the 3, but the one I think I'll be dreaming about tonight is the steak fajitas which I would say are the best fajitas I have ever had in my life. The steak was so tender and the pure flavor of it was out of this world. The elote salad had such a nice dressing on it that is reminiscent of the sauce that comes on Mexican street corn usually which is so unique and lovely in a salad. The quesadilla was so nicely prepared and the chicken meat that was in it was so juicy which is not always the case with chicken quesadilla's but for this one it was a slam dunk. Staff is friendly, ambience is nice for a casual spot like this and the prices are a little high but generally reasonable for the quality of food you get. I will definitely be coming back! I had a very upsetting and unacceptable experience at Chuponcito. I entered with my service animal and was immediately told I could not sit inside and would have to sit outside instead. Staff also asked me to provide a "license" or documentation for my service animal. This is illegal. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), businesses cannot require proof, certification, or documentation for a service animal. They are only allowed to ask two questions: 1) Is the animal required because of a disability? 2) What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? Forcing someone with a service animal to sit outside is also a violation of federal law. Service animals must be allowed to accompany their handler anywhere the public is normally allowed to go. Additionally, under California Penal Code § 365.7, denying access or interfering with the rights of a person with a service animal is against the law. I did become frustrated during the interaction, but that does not change the fact that I was being denied my legal rights. The staff refused to correct their actions and clearly lacked proper training. I strongly recommend that others avoid Chuponcito until they educate their staff and comply with the law. read more

My wife and I ate here last night with our 2 golden retriever girls in tow. Outside "patio" is just the front sidewalk with a few tables. As we sit we are next to the couple that are on the inside of the restaurant and there is no separation besides the see through glass and is a little awkward. Other than that the staff was very attentive and the food was delicious and came in a timely manner. We had a nice dinner over all and wee would recommend this restaurant.
