Went in during a dead time between lunch and dinner. Evidently I was a burden because nobody felt like giving me a menu when I sat down, or ask if I wanted anything to drink. The blonde was nice but got side tracked. The male bartender (Hispanic guy with the earrings) looked at me 3-4 times but I guess he didn't realize that sitting at the bar means you might want something to drink. He was just carrying on with tedious tasks with no desire to make himself or his company money. In a time where people are going out less and less - it's an interesting choice to basically ignore patrons when they go in your establishment. Hard pass. read more

It's so lively here, I like coming for their Taco Tuesday deals, and it's always packed with upbeat music and all their staff have high energies too. You place how many tacos you want then get in line to get your tacos going, there's a salad bar right after where you can pick your toppings and sauces. Came here for a taco Tuesday where it's $1.25 per taco with an order of a drink. I ordered a soft drink and had in total 8 tacos so still a really good deal. Quality of the meat was alittle above average but nothing that will blow your mind. Tacos are street so don't expect a massive taco. Food was so incredibly flavorful and delicious!!! We ordered take out for Easter and we were not disappointed!!!! The crispy beef tacos were so yummy, the beef was so tender and nicely seasoned! A group of us were in Lake Forest for Summit and decided to try La Casita Olvera for lunch after one of our friends mentioned receiving promo emails from them. The restaurant is conveniently located in a shopping center with plenty of parking so it was easy to find. When we arrived, it was clear they were under staffed and unprepared for the large groups from the summit. Despite the pressure, the hostess, server, bus boy, and kitchen staff handled the situation admirably. They were clearly doing the best under challenging circumstances and their effort didn't go unnoticed. The chips and salsa came out first, and unfortunately, the chips were greasy and flavor beyond the oil. However, once the trays arrived, things improved. The food was served, hot, had solid flavor, and the portions were satisfying. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which were tasty and filling while the food isn't particularly authentic or spicy, I suspect this is intentional to cater to a wider audience. Overall, while it's not the most authentic of Mexican food, it was a pleasant experience, especially considering the staff's hard work. If you're in the area, it's worth the visit.t read more

Went here for lunch on Taco Tuesday and wow, it was packed! The inside was full so we grabbed a patio table outside. It was spacious but just as busy. The $1 taco deal is hard to beat. You first tell the server how many tacos you want then head inside to the taco station. Even though the line looked long, it moved surprisingly fast. I tried their chicken, birria and beef tacos then loaded up at the toppings station eith shredded cabbage, hot sauce, and even some watermelon on the side. They also had warm chips out to grab which was a nice touch. For $1 each, these tacos hit the spot. I ended up eating 5 and left totally satisfied. We walked over from our nearby hotel tonight, 7/18, and we were warmly greeted by one of the servers. She had a good sense of humor as she asked if we wanted the ocean view. She seated us in a comfortable booth. We told her we aren't big drinkers, but wanted to try the blue agave margarita. She offered to split the margarita for me and my husband. So nice! It was absolutely delicious! Dan got the Baja fish tacos and I ordered a shrimp platter called Cameron's Al mojo with rice and beans. Both of the servers working checked on us from time to time and made sure we were enjoying our meal. They have outdoor and indoor seating along with an area where you can sit at the bar. When the world is going crazy and youre looking for some comfort food that always means Mexican food! We had driven by this little shopping center a few times and noticed this place and had it bookmarked. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm and the place was pretty much empty. We were greeted by friendly staff and directed to sit wherever we wanted. The place is actually bigger than expected with plenty of seating and a nice patio area as well. Our friendly server attended to us right away and took our order, we ordered the Birria taquitos and the shrimp ceviche and you can't do Mexican/the world is ending without some margaritas!! We ordered the Jamaica margarita and the cucumber jalapeno margarita. They started us off with some complimentary chips and salsa and both were really tasty, salsa tasted fresh with just the right amount of spice.The Birria taquitos were hot crunchy and tasty and came with rice and refried pinto beans, I personally prefer a classic red Spanish rice so the rice was just ok for me. The ceviche was my favorite! Just a fresh classic shrimp ceviche with fresh avocado on top, so delicious!! Our margaritas hit the spot not too sweet and sugary but just the right amount of alcohol and flavor..made us feel like maybe there is some hope left in this world ;*) overall a great experience they have a happy hour their tacos are a dollar and change with a drink purchase? and margaritas are five dollars! This place is such a hidden gem I wish I found about it sooner! I came for their $1 taco Tuesday deals where you can get tacos for $1 with a purchase of a drink. The drinks were really good (esp the vodka pineapple) and the meat selection was impressive. My favorite meats were the fish and shrimp! There's also a sauce bar with adequate sauces and toppings that really complemented the tacos. The ambiance was lively with indoor and outdoor seating. It gets 1 star because they did not handle their food heaters properly yesterday, which caused food poisoning for me and I've been throwing up ever since I got home from the restaurant. I started to feel sick while I was finishing up, which I couldn't finish and left there, and went home quickly and immediately threw up. Almost didn't make it home and had to pull over. Aw man I am so bummed about this place now after our last experience! We went in around noon on Sunday for brunch - then we found out they stopped their brunch! No wonder the place was pretty empty. So... 1. They have unlimited mimosas for $10 - that's a great deal and the drinks were wonderful! 2. They didn't serve chips & salsa when we were seated and waiting for our food. Maybe you have to request? If so, more cost savings they are trying to achieve. 3. The portions are way smaller than other places and from what they served in the past. 4. The fajitas dish (for $32) DOES NOT come with sour cream or guac or any toppings!!! WTH?? Every restaurant I have been to in my life has included at least these two items with fajitas!! They gave me two tortillas. That's right people - 2 small tortillas and no toppings. Do you want to know what made me sign this place off? They charged me $10 for a small side of guac and sour cream. See photo of receipt Hellllll Nooooo. 5. Servers were great at checking on us and refilling our drinks. 6. Food is good. 7. Not worth the price for what you get. We had heard there was a New Sunday brunch spot that opened in Foothill Ranch and we couldn't wait to try it. Nestled at the corner of Towne Center Drive and Auto Center Drive, we visited La Casita Olvera on Father's Day. It's always a good sign when your first observation is that the majority of the customers are the same ethnicity as the cuisine...wouldn't you agree? Their brunch buffet is only offered on Sundays from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm. Expect a wait but it's worth it! They serve omelettes, enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, street tacos, soups and so much more! My favorites were the Chili Verde and Pozole, and I made sure to go back for seconds. La Casita Olvera also serves up $5 beers, $7 margaritas and $10 bottomless mimosas...how about that? Ice cream is also offered for dessert. Service was friendly and attentive and the price was reasonable, so it makes total sense why this restaurant is so popular! Traditional Regional Mexican and Latin hits. Bar: Full of your favorite picks. Personally had 2 Dos XX Amber and the best michelada I've had in CA. I've had in numerous Marisquerias Restaurants and by far this was the best mixture. Food: Menudo- Delicious. It has hominy and perfect blend of spices. Enchiladas and barbacoa was a hit with my family. Tacos perfect size. My favorite for the Al pastor. Salad and fruit bar. Pancakes with choice of toppings and even ice cream. The BEST cafe de olla. We had soooo many. Our family from Guanajuato is known for the best in their town and they were so happy to taste such an authentic cafe de olla. Aguas Frescas: Horchata and Jamaica. My brothers loved them! Service: The entire staff was very very attentive and kind but I have to do a special recognition to Israel, Hayden, and David. It really takes lots to "WOW" me. I've been a leader of various teams for over 25 years and my number one priority it Customer Experience. It's so easy to go to store and fine customer service representatives, hospitality, and front facing experience not want to be a work. Passing thru town we spotted this places....wanted to try it and then will double back for brunch eventually. A little steep price wise but you know what?.....food was quality! Me and the Mrs were a little nervous but were not disappointed. I had 6 tacos - so I could try various meat options. They were tiny. Teeny tiny. And it's basically self-serve; it was also difficult to get service for drink refills. Loved the vibe at the restaurant. The hosts, servers and food runners are all very friendly and helpful. I recommend going for brunch and order the bottomless mimosas! Went here because they were literally offering a free brunch buffet for the Thanksgiving holiday. Wow, this place is so awesome for providing it. The owner was so friendly and very nice. I liked some of the things they offered but I just wish there were different items offered. They had an omelet station which everyone was waiting for. But as for the taco area, I just wish they just had the typical meats. There weren't any signs for what the food was so I literally had to ask what every item was. I don't want to complain about the lack of food items because after all it was complimentary. I just wished they chose different items to offer. I was craving for Mexican food while at work, since I have a meeting after lunch I tried to call in my take out order but no answer after 5 tries. I end up going and ordered on the spot for take out, the food came out quick. It's supposed to be enchilada Suiza, but it didn't look like it is I expected it to have a creamy texture with the cream. It tasted good but for $21 it wasn't much, very little chicken and I would say 3/4 cup of rice or less. I live in Anaheim so I'm used to really good Mexican food. I participated in $1 taco tuesday after watching an instagram post. It was a single corn tortilla street taco for $1 each if you order a soda (pepsi not coke) for $5. Taco was decent, with all ypu want fixings and free chips too though chips weren't very good. I tried pork, chicken, fish and beef. Pork smelled pretty bad (like intestine) and fish was 90%batter. Chicken was flavorless and beef was decent. Green salsa was a bit blend, red salsa had a kick to it. Even before I left, I started to feel bad and I had tummyache when I got home. I love the food at La Casita Olvera. Every dish I've gotten from here has been amazing! Their mole is top notch - one of the best I've had. This past time I tried the Enchiladas Tia Lupe and the Taquitos Hidalgo. Both enchiladas were very good. The mole sauce was excellent, as always. Deep flavor, slightly bitter but offset with sweetness - very good! I wasn't sure what to expect from the cream sauce on the other enchilada, but it was also very good. Not too creamy, and a good amount of cheese on there. The taquitos were super crispy and flavorful. The beef tasted excellent and the queso fresco, chipotle crema, and guacamole cut through the flavors nicely. They also have dollar taco Tuesdays, but I see their sign advertising this outside their restaurant on other days...does that mean they actually have it on multiple days, or just that they forget to bring the sign in? I gotta go and find out! Ordering ahead of time is great, and they're pretty good at being prompt and getting orders out on time (unless they're super busy during weekend brunch time, but even then we've experienced only about a 10min wait). Parking is pretty easy in the plaza, and there are plenty of placed to sit inside and out. Definitely one of our favorite spots in the area! read more

Short and to the point. We finally had a chance to dine here for taco Tuesday. I had visited a couple times before but for the regular menu which was pretty good. Get there early cause they get packed. We waited about a half hour which wasn't bad for how busy they were. Turnover seemed pretty quick. We ordered a few flight of margaritas which were fun, colorful and good. I had the fish and carnitas tacos. My friends had the chicken, al pastor and carne asada. I loved the table with all the sides/toppings you want. I really liked the food and drinks, but it ended there. We had only been there for about 30-40 minutes, when I went to the restroom while the rest of my party stayed at the table. Mind you, we had already eaten BUT we still had margaritas left to drink. Our server came over and told us we had to leave because they needed the table. We were so shocked because we still had our drinks. This left a horrible impression and now I don't know if I want to go back because she could've waited a few more minutes to let us finish the drink we paid for. I came here for their Taco Tuesday Deal, as I saw a fellow foodie on IG post this amazing deal on their story. The deal on Tuesdays included their all day happy hour and $1 tacos. Here is what we tried: Margarita Flight $20: Super aesthetic. My favorite flavor would probably be the lavender. Half of my drinks were watered down, and if I am going to be paying $4 for each mini margarita, I would epet for it to be at least flavorful. Old Fashioned $20: Very sweet and colorless. Surprised it tasted like anything and the portion was quite small for the price. 15 Tacos at $1 each: The tacos were average. You really get what you pay for. They were street tacos and they give you enough meat for them. However, the meat itself was just mediocre. The chicken was flavorless, the carne asada was bland, the carnitas were moist but not flavorful, and the al pastor is not you would think. Al pastor was my favorite because it was the. most flavorful, but it tasted like asian char siu or bbq pork. Overall, the wait was about 40 minutes. The service was surprisingly quick for how busy they were. I would most likely not return. The drinks is what gets you. I would honestly prefer a taco truck over this. You get more quality meat and larger portions for probably 50 cents more each taco. Not a bad experience, but not the best. I went for Sunday brunch with a group of friends and absolutely loved it. They offered an omelet bar, taco bar, pancake bar, soups and ceviche, and endless mimosas. The service is the best I've had in a really long time - everyone was super friendly and attentive. What was extra impressive though was that the workers at the stations weren't just plopping food on a plate - they each took the time to add presentation and seemed happy to fulfill any request. The chef (maybe owner?) also came out several times to greet patrons. The meat for the tacos was flavored really well, and they offered all kinds of toppings for the tacos. I also had the pozole (green) and it was flavored perfectly as well. My favorite thing though was the pancakes with caramel sauce and ice cream. Those pancakes were cooked to absolute perfection - right on the griddle in front of my eyes. My only slight critique is that it was REALLY loud inside, but I'm not taking any stars away for that because a) we were a large group also, and b) it seemed like the patio offered a quieter option. read more
