Long story short...good food, reasonably priced, great service! I'll be back. I wanted to try a different taco place. If I keep going to the same 2-3 places how am I ever going to keep my Elite status. Anyway, I just finished at the gym and had seen Tacos Ensenada here for years! I decided to give it a try. I ordered 2 tacos at $5.50 each. I'm used to street tacos at half the price! I ordered an asada and a pastor taco!! My daughter, ordered a combo plate with Pollo, the combo plate was on sale on Thursdays! We sat down after placing our order and a server brought us chips and a small plate of beans for dipping. I don't get that at my street taco places! The salsa bar had onions, cilantro, pico de gallo , as well as a green and a red salsa and limes. The food arrived, and I could only finish one of the two tacos! They were huge. Overall, the food was good, but I was surprised that my daughter's combo plate came with a side salad and ranch dressing. I don't usually see that at any authentic Mexican places. Having said that, overall, as mentioned, the food was good, the place was clean. The service was great and for the portion sizes the prices were very reasonable. I don't recommend the pico de gallo, but the green sauce was delicious. The red sauce was also really good! read more

The good is the food is really nice. I asked for extra crispy tripa taco and it comes out amazing! Crispy and tasted great. Their Al pastor tasted ok but I've had better Al pastor. What's great about this place is they're generous with their meat, but unfortunately it's also a bit pricy. It's $5+/taco. I ordered 3 taco and comes out to $18+ total with tax. That said it's only $4.5/taco and taco Tuesdays so I might just do that next time. They provided free chips, and you can take as much salsa and onions as you want, so you'll definitely leave full. We ordered at the counter. The person taking orders was polite and efficient. My wife ordered a beef taco and chicken enchilada combo. I asked for the pork tamale and chicken enchilada combo. I was told they were out of pork tamales so I opted for a chicken tamale. We were given a number for our order and some soufflé cups to get our desired toppings from the topping bar. We grabbed some toppings and waited for our order. Eventually a server showed up with a plate she said had an enchilada and tamale. There was what looked like an enchilada, rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and something wrapped in waxed paper. I unwrapped it and it was beef inside a couple of tortillas. This was my wife's plate, not mine, so I gave it to her. After a several minute wait, my food arrived. A tamale, rice, beans and something wrapped in wax paper. I unwrapped it. It looked like some chicken inside a couple of tortillas. It appeared to be possibly a chicken taco instead of the chicken enchilada I ordered. If it was a taco, it was strange that there were no toppings provided for it. The food was bland. There was not much flavor in anything. Eventually the server that had brought us our food, stopped by and asked us how everything was. I asked what the mystery item was on my plate. She said it was a chicken taco. I showed her my receipt that said I ordered a chicken enchilada. She offered to make it right but I declined. I had already tasted my wife's chicken enchilada and did not care for that. I am used to getting complimentary chips and salsa especially when I am paying that much for dinner. It is also nice when all the food arrives at the table pretty much at once instead of the manner in which it was handled for us. read more

First time visiting here. I'm always worried to try new places since I have a gluten allergy. The service was amazing I asked if the chips were gluten free she said no that they cook them in the same fryer as their taquitos. But she offered me some crunchy tostadas that were gluten free (read the package) it was very nice and I felt accommodated! Starting with service. We came to Taco Tuesday thinking we could catch a break on tacos.my fiancé ordered 2 beef and I got 1 chicken. 2 medium drinks. Total of $25.65. I asked her why so expensive. She said because I asked for a crunchy shell I didn't get a taco Tuesday price. Instead she up charged me for it. I told her she should have said that crunchy costs $1.45 more. She just laughed. I want to love this place, I really do. Actually I really enjoyed my fish burrito and my mushroom taco. Both were really tasty and I was so excited to find this place when I was dog sitting at my brother's house. But then I got terrible diarrhea. Like an IMMEDIATE flushing of the system. I talked it over with my brother, and apparently he and his girlfriend have both experienced this, on multiple occasions. We have had a variety of things, but it seemed that the one time my brother was spared the diarrhea and his girlfriend wasn't, was when he didn't have the salsa. I can't know for sure, but it's possibly the salsa. I don't get it - there were quite a few people eating there so I'm not sure why we had the GI issues. This little gem is on our "must eat twice a week" list. I'll start with their specials: Tuesday Fish tacos 2X $3.47 (the price of 1) Thursday Asada etc 2X $3.47 (the price of 1). These two days alone draw me over every time. We have tried it on a random Monday or Saturday just to see what else they have good and babyyyyyy....everything's good! And the prices can't be beat anywhere in the Rialto area. $11 carne asada burritos (worth way more) $11 carne asada nachos/carne asada fries just to name a few items. The salsa is fresh and just enough spice to keep you wanting more of it. The workers are all very friendly. Some have a language barriers, however I have learned enough Spanish to carry on my orders. First time here. I really wanted to like this place since I am local but unfortunately it was a total disappointment. Food bland, chips stale, service was ok, michelada tasted really off so I asked what were the ingredients and the cashier lady told me that they use the leftover shrimp broth that they get when cooking shrimp along other seasonings. The absolute worst food poisoning of my life. My fiancé and I were running an errand in the shopping center and decided to stop by for a quick lunch. I was in Lake Forest this morning when I got a craving for chilaquiles. Glad I found Tacos Ensenada! The chilaquiles plate was big, with eggs, beans, and potatoes or rice, as well as chips and salsa. The chilaquiles were tasty, not as great as my mom's, but much better than many other restaurants. Miserable experience: terrible overpriced low-quality food, rude staff, and disgusting gnats everywhere! Carne asada plate had tough, rubbery and fatty meat. The torta cubana was stacked full of bland bland bland ingredients and tough and rubbery milanesa. The worst part in regards to the ambiance were the amount of gnats at and around our table. Got a chance to try Taco Ensenada today for lunch and I'm pleasantly surprised. I got the 2 Beef Enchilada plate which came with rice, beans, and a bit of salad. The beans were so bomb and the rice was super flavorful. I loved all the cheese on the enchilada and beans. The food was delicious and big enough to fill me up with leftovers. The major renovations at the shopping center are now completed. The restaurant is open. One major disappoints is they removed the Salsa Bar. This was the main reason why I supported this business. The Salsa Bar complimented the food. Now if you want the condiments, you need to ask the server. They provide you a very small plastic container (maybe a tablespoon or two) for a complete dinner entree. The servers do not bring the condiments in a timely manner. I no longer support this business, and will never dine here again. I had 2 disappointing visits after they removed the salsa bar. Robert raise your prices to offset your costs in providing the salsa bar to your customers. I am very disappointed with this decision and lack of timely response from servers when requesting condiments for my meals. Sorry Robert I think you made the wrong decision. This my family's go-to place for Taco Tuesday. Cant speak for any other days/meals but the tacos have always been consistently tasty and reasonably priced. Multiple options for taco tuesday. Portions are also large. My favorite is the grilled fish tacos (no mayo). They also have bomb aqua frescas - we love the tamarindo and horchata. Theres ample seating inside. Another neighborhood gem!! We get food from here on average at least once a week. They have an extensive menu, but my go-to items are their Chicken Fajitas Plate, Chile Verde Plate, and Bean and Cheese Burrito. Their complimentary chips are accompanied by a loaded salsa bar with more than 5 different salsas (my favorite is the molcajete), lime wedges, pickled carrots and jalapenos, chopped onion and cilantro, and a few other dried chiles and herbs. They also have a great selection of aguas frescas that are served in generously-sized mason jars (when you eat in). From what I remember, they have horchata (cinnamon-rice), jamaica (hibiscus), melón (cantelope), limón (lemon-lime), and piña (pineapple), and possibly other flavors. Don't forget to check out their Daily Specials- my favorite is their Thursday Special (combo plate with choice of carne asada, carnitas, or al pastor), which is a great value IMO. read more

There is major construction to the entire center, but don't be scared off - they are open and you shouldn't miss a great meal here. You can order from the link on Yelp or call in an order. If you want to eat there, they have a large, open dining room and it appears they may be creating outdoors eating space in the renovation. The rice and beans at any Mexican restaurant are important to me and they're both quite good here. I had a carne asada combo which was flavorful, but it's very thinly sliced. One of my co-diners has a taco salad with carne asada and while it was plentiful, again, it was quite thin and reminiscent of jerky. The last in our group got a carnitas combo and this was a huge portion of very tender and tasty meat. There is a nice self-serve salsa bar with a variety of salsas, pico de gallo, lime, onion and cilantro. The woman at the counter couldn't have been sweeter; even though I arrive 10 minutes early (for some one-on-one time with the salsa bar) she was able to get my order ready and packaged up right away.
