Excellent food and very kind service. We had juice, coffee, fries, the Upstream, Asian salad, and side of roast vegetables. Everything was just wonderful. Was new so took a while to check out their menu, everything looked so good with so many options so asked for help. They were very patient and told me go for THE DIRTY BIRD w/ a side of breakfast potatoes. Let me tell you one of the best Chicken sandwiches I had, and it was enormous definitely worth your buck. The breakfast potatoes were good but the homemade sauce that came with it made them 10x better. Also had gotten one of the in house ipa which was actually really good. It's a walk up to order counter where you're given a number and they'll bring your food out to you. We shared the - al horno and the chanco en cama sandwiches. I happened across Mamon after a visit to the doctor's which is in the same plaza. I am so glad that I stumbled here. Who knew such a hidden gem would be tucked away in this plaza? I ordered the sandwich called "There's an egg involved", and it was so delicious. The sauce that it came with complemented the sandwich perfectly, and the bread soaking up the egg yolk and the juices from the tri-tip made each bite a beautiful symphony of flavors. The veggies that were in the sandwich cut the fat so perfectly, and I can honestly just say that this was a perfect sandwich. The lady at the register was also very kind and helpful with my questions about the menu items. I enjoyed eating my meal at the establishment, as there are numerous tables spread throughout. The salmon salad sandwich came with a green avo salsa that was pretty tasty. It wasn't too bad but the bread was over toasted. I wasn't overly impressed with anything I ordered but after reading the reviews I feel like I ordered the wrong sando. The veggies in the counter looked so much better than anything I tried. The banana pudding was the best thing I ate there. I would order that again. The restaurant looks like a strange attempt of being a Gastropub with a upscale trendy sandwich deli fusion. I'm sure the beer is good and the selection seemed fine from what I saw. If I find myself here again I would try something else for sure. My wife and i visit Mamón periodically, and every time we do, we wonder why we don't visit more often. They have a very unique menu, with food that is so much more flavorful than most. On my most recent visit I ordered the Gracias, Pavo sandwich, which is a seasonal item. I got it with a gluten-free wrap instead of the toasted Francese bread. The wrap itself was very good, but it was the turkey, pickled onion and roasted sweet potatoes that made it so tasty. I asked for the Serrano pepper mayo on the side. Just a drop with every bite was enough for me, and added great flavor. The sandwich was big enough for me to save half for later. The restaurant features counter service, and the person who took our order was very friendly and helpful. They feature some great specialty beers, but one of my favorite things is you get to take a whole carafe of water to your table. For a "heavy drinker" like myself, this is a very welcome convenience. The menu is quite simple, but it's also quite delicious. I've tried a few sandwiches but my favorite and the go to staple in my household now is the "There's an egg involved". It's a roasted tri tip sandwich that is to die for. Honestly, egg and tri tip? Winning combo no matter what you do. But what makes Mamon special is that serrano pepper mayo sauce. That sauce just holds everything together and adds a little kick (but not too much) and more richness to really bring out the flavors of the tri tip. But don't worry - it's not too rich as the acid from the tomatoes cuts out too much richness. Overall, it's a perfect sandwich, and quite a messy one - don't forget to nab some extra napkins, because trust me, you'll need it. The only downside I have with the sandwich order is that it doesn't come with anything but just the sandwich itself. It would be nice if it also came with a side. The other bonus about Mamon is that it's part of the Lake Forest gift card program! Which means you're basically getting their food for 50% off! read more

I was not really impressed with the wrap and then was shocked when I came across a few chicken bones in the wrap!!! Not just one, but a few large size bones!! Food and ambiance at this restaurant are good. Service was basic but nothing special. They did not offer water or inform me that water was self service and located in the back of the restaurant. Once the food is dropped off at your table no one checks back to see if you need anything else. For these prices it would be nice if they checked back at your table to see if everything is ok or if you need anything else. They request that you scan QR for online menu which I don't mind and seems to be the norm at a lot of restaurants now. But if you are going to do an online menu you have to make sure your menu is up to date. I tried ordering a chicken wrap which according to the menu looked to be a chicken caesar wrap. I even asked the employee if it was a chicken caesar wrap and she said yes. On the menu it is priced at $8.50. When she rang me up it came closer to $17.00 (big difference in price). I was quite surprised on the price considering most of their sandwiches range from $13 to $16 and come with a lot more meat and veggies than a chicken caesar wrap does. Don't really understand why the wrap is more expensive. Someone needs to review the food cost on that one. That being said the wrap tasted great and came with a unique side sauce that had a little kick. Good pairing with the wrap. There were a few other items on the online menu that did not have pricing. I think if they clean up the menu and spend a little more time focusing on service and guest interaction this place will be 5 stars for sure. It's the little things that count. read more
