We went with a group of 8, first time for the two of us. Small place in a strip mall that doesn't seem to be doing well. The hostess(our waitress) greeted us warmly and seated up right away. Water and coffee(first cup old, the second was good) followed quickly. I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and ham. Super good. My wife had the avocado toast which she said was very good. All of the outside tables had shade so it wasn't bad being outside even though it was hot. Went inside to order but then staff told us to choose a table and they will serve us. Ordered the vanilla iced latte and jasmine white peach tea. Latte was pretty good and what you expect from a latte. But the tea tasted was basically slightly flavored water. It barely any peach flavor and the tea tasted very watered down similar to a tea bag that was not steeped long enough. The chicken croffle came out first and was the best item we had. Came with a decent amount of chicken which was made from chicken thighs so it was very juicy while the outside was fried and very crispy. The batter they used had lots of spices that made it very flavorful. They also added a unique chili honey sauce for dipping. The croffle was very crispy and light, pretty sure they made a croissant and put it in a waffle maker since it tasted more like a croissant than a waffle. And it even came with salad and side of country potatoes. The wagyu burger was just alright, tasted like a typical burger. The patty seemed slightly undercooked, not a medium rare way. Like it may have been a frozen patty not fully cooked. But the fries that it came with were very good and crispy. This is one of those places you'd never know about if it weren't for your Yelp friends. I've had a couple of them single this cafe out for both breakfast and lunch. I decided to visit for lunch on an early weekday afternoon. It's located in a megacomplex of business buildings but it's easily spotted with their signage. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but I stayed inside on this mid-ninety-degree day. I ordered at the counter and was given a pager to let me know when it was ready to pick up. I ordered their BLT sandwich with chips. Additionally, I asked for an iced vanilla latte and a chocolate chip cookie. As it was afternoon, the pastry case was almost empty, but the cookie was exactly what I wanted to complement the sandwich. I took a seat at the counter, which gave me a great view of the TV; a World Cup game was being played. When my buzzer went off, before I could get up, my order was brought to me. The women working here were super nice! The delicious sandwich was on sourdough bread and had cheddar cheese in addition to the BLT. The bacon had a slight spiciness to it. The kettle chips were pretty good, and my cookie was fresh and soft, with the perfect amount of chocolate chips. The vanilla latte was a delightful surprise, very tasty with robust flavors of both coffee and vanilla. And it wasn't overly iced! I also got the Fried chicken sandwich that other reviews mentioned, and wow, you get a very decent sized chicken! I do wish there was more flavor to the chicken itself. It comes with a side of salad or chips - I got the chips which was your standard kettle chips. I also tried their matcha, and this was very standard. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon (wrapped in a spinach tortilla), a cup of tomato soup, avocado toast, and a matcha latte. Everything tasted fresh! They also offer mimosas by the glass or bottomless if you want to really take on the whole brunch experience. I enjoyed a delicious latte as well which I would recommend. While this place is located in office buildings, it is the perfect setting to either dine outdoors indoors. And, the half soup of tomato basil that came with the half sandwich had real chunks of tomato and basil that made everything seem so upscale, yet so affordable, for people like me that need a place with quality health-oriented foods for those workday lunch escapades. Nice brunch at wara bistro. Went here for brunch near noon. The outdoor seating had a great atmosphere. I would say that sitting outside, the service can be a little slow. But I think outside definitely is the better experience on a nice day. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried really well and had a great seasoning. Salad was very fresh. However I think the waffles, potatoes, and sauce were all a bit lacking making it not the best chicken and waffles experience I've had. I looked at some of the other items my group ordered such as the sandwich and chips. The sandwich looked good but the chips were cold Vickies kettle chips and I could see how you could've disappointed with that. It's conveniently located in an office park complex with a nice outdoor patio area that is well taken care of (lives up to the standards of the Irvine company). The inside also has quite a bit of seating and puts forth a modern vibe and was very clean. Speaking about the menu, there is a good variety of options for breakfast/brunch/lunch as well as beverages. There are 3 seating areas: high top tables, a semi sectioned off area with tables and plastic chairs, and a coffee bar with about eight stools (there's a charging outlet strip that runs the length of the bar, see my photo, very laptop friendly). The place could use a bit more warmth and polish...decor, ambiance, lighting..just something to make it feel more inviting to also draw in the non-lunch break crowd. Interesting location (it's in the middle of a bunch of office buildings), but I'm lowkey about it 'cus that means it's away from all the hubbub and chaos, and their outdoor patio is a whole vibe. Some of my faves are the Philly cheesesteak and the Ube French toast--highly highly recommend this, 10 out of 10. The restaurant is located in an office park and had plenty of parking and tables when we stopped in for a brunch. I ordered their shrek latte with the chicken and waffles and boy did it hit the spot. The chicken was perfectly fried and didn't have an oily feel to it with the star being the spicy syrup. I loved how the chicken wasn't overpowered with breading and I'd have to say it was one of the better spots that I've tried chicken and waffles. A really nice cozy place with amazing food! Found this hidden gem scrolling on yelp and decided to give it a try with my cousin. I got their Breakfast Burrito and it seriously was amazing. I got mine with ham inside and their sauce they serve it with is a great match. My cousin got the Breakfast Sandwhich and while iy was good, it was simple. Simple is good though and I finished her other half of the sandwhich. If you are a more flavorful person though, I would recommend to go for something else. For drinks we got the Yuzu Refresher and the Double Matcha. I personally am not a Matcha person but my cousin who is, says their matcha is actually really good! Their Yuzu refresher was light and refreshing indeed! I would like to try their strawberry refresher next time though. I was really excited to learn that a new Wara branch was opening in Irvine as I often commute to Irvine. Their new location is really convenient (right off the 5 freeway). It's so spacious and such a nice spot for a breakfast/brunch. I really love that they have so much indoor and outdoor seating (especially love that outdoor space is all shaded). On top of that there's free WiFi which is ideal for studying/working. The best part was the food was just as delicious as their chino hills branch.
