Super cute coffee house. Their matcha latte was decent and there is only one size for their drinks and the price was pretty steep in my opinion for what you get. The service was super friendly and welcoming. They have an area for kids to play which is amazing as I'm a mother. The only suggestion I would make as a mom, I would try to maintain the toy area. I know it's not a daycare. However, there were broken toys which is not safe and could be a liability and the outside area could use some tidying up. It was pretty dirty and not as appealing as the rest of the place. Again, I know it's not a daycare but if you're going to offer areas for babies, toddlers and kids this might be something to consider.

Coffee shop like no other. So many beautiful details make the space so unique, welcoming and peaceful. Loved the matcha, lemonade and quiche Lorraine. Wish I took a pic before eating the quiche because it was so delicious. I especially love that the coffee shop is rooted in faith and has a special prayer room in the back. Must try CedarHouse when you're in Orange. Will definitely come back!

I've been passing this place regularly on my commute to work and didn't even realize it was a coffee shop until I searched for local cafes near me! It's such a cute place!!! The outside patio is spacious and decorated in a way that doesn't make it feel like you're sitting right on the street. The inside is very spacious but so cozy; it feels like you're inside somebody's home. There's plenty of cozy sofas to lounge in or tables to work at and they're all spaced out nicely. The girls at the counter were so hospitable and friendly, very easy to chat with. The passionfruit kouign-amann was great and so were the lattes. I got vanilla on the side but didn't even need it as the latte tasted great on it's own. I do wish their sizes matched their prices, though. The cups were tiny, but the prices were standard cafe prices.

A Victorian Coffee House with a cozy vibe and outdoor patio. Plenty of seating for those wanting to hangout and enjoy your coffee. The staff is friendly and fast with their service. I ordered the Salted Maple Latte which was rich, smooth and creamy. This is definitely a good place to try out, I highly recommend it.

The below review is given based on a Saturday morning visit (may vary based on day/time): Coffee shop designed like the interior of a house gives it a very community feeling. but these baristas be yapping which I guess is nice for the community, not so nice if you want a quick coffee fix bc the line is subsequently out the door. Yapping to each other yapping to the customers bruh I'm just tryna get my brown butter latte. Now to the positives: house made syrups, and good interior vibes and seating. Overall, if you got some time to kill on a Saturday to meet w a friend or something, Good for that. Would be difficult to be a regular here I paid 7.50 for this tiny lil thang I think 12oz cup. Also idk about a place to do work, kinda loud with all the yapping LOL also just kinda crowded in general

The cutest coffee shop near old town Orange. Deliciously fresh coffee, the coziest ambiance, friendly staff and plenty of seating both indoors and out. I tried their hot drip coffee with seasonal Salted Maple house made syrup - the coffee was incredibly smooth but also strong - just perfect! Highly recommend stopping in to tru their delicious coffee! *Parking Note* - there are 3-4 "1 hour parking," spots located on the side street closest to the coffee shop, other than these all nearby street parking is permit only, there is public parking at the train station just a few minutes walk away as well as a parking structure a little further down the street (closer to the Orange circle itself)

CedarHouse is a cute coffee shop that's just outside the hustle & bustle of the Orange Circle (a couple blocks away). They offer a straightforward coffee menu, a few pastry options and have some merch for sale - handcrafted mugs, whole beans. The space itself is spacious and I constantly see it full with students, people working/studying and lots of mom & baby meet up groups. + shop is located in a renovated craftsman home + ample seating inside & outdoor + I believe it's part of a church or church community (they have a private prayer room) + friendly staff + they don't offer any house crafted drinks - but have a variety of syrups if you're looking for something sweet - as others have mentioned, the parking is a challenge (street only) & the drinks run on the smaller side

Great ambiance and great coffee. The coffee came out quickly and was really good. The coffee shop was full of people and made the place feel like a great place to be.

What an amazing and unique spot :) what they were able to do with the space is just extraordinary. If I had a home like this, I'd be pretty happy! There's a lot of seating everywhere like you would find in a house - dining table, living room, little corners of seats in random spots, benches by the window. Space is very airy and light, which is so great for hanging out. I do see a lot of people working here on laptops but it does get a bit noisy in here with the acoustics. Coffee is great - tried out my regular iced latte with honey and it was delicious! Size is on the smaller side though. Parking is rough here, no lot and only street parking, so try to come during off hours.

Love a cute and quaint coffee shop. The ambiance and decor is perfect for doing work or meeting and catching up with friends! Their coffee is good with yummy lattes. My only complaint is parking can be very difficult here so just plan ahead esp if you are taking little ones with you

Came here on a Wednesday with my 2 kids. Didn't it expect it to be busy but it wasn't overly crowded. Baristas we're kind and helpful. Had an iced latte and almond croissant both very delicious. Got a couple babycinos which is basically steamed milk for the kiddos. I think this should've been free since it's just milk unless they offered other options for kids like juice. Had lots of different spaces; the front patio, inside area, and back patio. They had kid areas both inside and back area. Inside they had books and toys for the kids. The back area had a special section for kids with toys and a playhouse and a few chairs. This is gated which is a nice touch to keep the kids contained in one area and gives peace of mind for parents. The back area is also shaded! Baristas were very helpful in accessing the back area for my kid's wagon. The only thing is I wished the front area had a gate for its entrance so kids can enjoy that area too and parents won't be concerned about kids heading to the street. We walked here but looked like they don't really have a parking area other than street parking. My kids and I enjoyed this place. Definitely will visit again soon!

Finally made it to this cozy café--and it did not disappoint! We ended up parking at the nearby train station since we weren't sure about the small lot they had. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the overall ambiance was lovely. I really appreciated how dog-friendly both the front and back seating areas are. Bonus points for the table tennis setup out back, such a fun touch! Coffee was delicious, though served in very petite portions, so savor slowly. I do wish they offered ham and cheese croissants and expanded their pastry selection a bit more, but overall, a delightful experience.

The cutest coffee shop! It's extremeeeely cozy and perfect for reading a book or getting a coffee chat. Not too quiet or loud-- I was visiting the area and loved the ambiance. The workers were so sweet and kind and asking abt my day! Our drinks were great and I'd definitely come here more often if I could

First time in Orange County Downtown. Pretty cool place. We…read moreactually stumbled with this place walking and thought it was super original a Coffee Bar inside an old bank building. Lots of space to sit, love the ambiance feel like you were in an old train station. Service was great, I had questions about some of the coffees and they took their time explaining it to me. For food they only had pastries but for coffee and matcha lots of interesting options. They have beans from various parts of the World, but mainly Norway!!! We got really excited about this. We ordered a Volcano Latte and a regular latte. The Volcano latte had an explosion of flavors topped with a smoked salted foam out of this world. My new favorite. I will keep on coming to try more things while in town.

There are definitely more affordable options in the area for just as good quality. Service: My biggest gripe was the service, despite a sizeable line there is no priority to get patrons checked out with their drinks. I noticed 3 baristas all talking and taking it slow while orders were piling up. It took my one drink 15 minutes to make. There wasn't even much small talk at the register, so I'm confused why it took so long to get people's orders. Parking: parking is no longer free at the circle. Which personally, makes me less likely to choose play coffee in the future. They used to have a dedicated parking area for quick pick up orders for this cafe, but now it is $4 per hour. If my drink is nearly $10 I'm not paying an extra $4 just to order take out. OC has no shortage in cafes, similar menus can be found at Hola Adios in Tustin, and Kei coffee house in FV is a great option as well; all with free parking.

The coffee is delicious when served sweet and creamy and the staff is always nice to adjust your drink if you don't like it. I typically order the Iced Mint Mojito as its fresh, sweet, delicious and comes with fresh mint! This time I opted for the new seasonal Cashew Cocoa. This drink was also delicious, but a little too sweet for me, and if you don't like cashew milk I would opt for a different beverage. The pastries are on the sweeter side, so keep that in mind if you order the almond croissant or cinnamon roll, but the flavor is there. The blueberry muffin was probably my favorite as it was so moist and paired well with my coffee. This Orange establishment is nice and offers games (like most Philz') so you and your friends/family can play, while enjoying a coffee or pastry. The company even offers used coffee ground to take home for your garden - a full recycle moment! The staff is always pleasant and friendly, and each barista usually has a name tag in front of their station. If the place is busy (and it can be busy) you can also order online for a quick grab and go! The coffee, staff, and atmosphere keep me visiting the delicious Philz Coffee. Thank you!

Every time I come in, there are 5 to 6 employees behind the counter, but more than half of them are just standing around talking and laughing. It creates a distracting environment for the few people who are actually trying to work, and it shows in how slow and disorganized everything feels. What really pushed me to write this review is how often the app is completely inaccurate. I'll get a notification saying my drink is ready, only to show up and find that it hasn't even been started yet. Meanwhile, the person who is supposed to be making drinks is busy chatting with coworkers instead of focusing on orders. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's become a pattern, and nothing seems to improve. Long waits, lack of urgency, and poor communication make the whole experience frustrating, especially when you're paying premium prices for coffee. I used to enjoy coming here, but the repeated lack of professionalism and attention to customers has really turned me off. Hopefully management steps in and addresses this, because right now it feels like customers are not a priority at all.

Still, I decided to give this place a second chance (no angry neighbor this time), and I was glad I did! PARKING: There's street parking around the neighborhood - I parked on Almond Ave so I wasn't in front of a house. The spots right outside the shop were 30 minute only. If you can't find parking there's probably tons as you go east if you're willing to walk. WHAT I ORDERED: Pistachio cream cold brew THE DRINK: Amazing. I've had my share of acidic or bitter cold brews, and this was not one of them. The cream was perfectly sweetened and flavored . SERVICE: Exceeded my expectations. The baristas when I came in were very bubbly and answered my questions and gave me suggestions, and were funny too! I wish I got their names, but they were working on Monday early afternoon - I hope they get some recognition. We also got some samples of the food items (which may have swayed me to get the turkey panini next time I come in). Even with the experience I had above a while back ago, I remember going in to let the baristas know and they were very understanding and apologetic, which I really appreciated. VIBES: Probably one of the top coffee shops to get work done in OC. Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: So many. Not at the tables downstairs but in the private rooms and at a lot of the seating upstairs. * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, good speed * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean * WATER: You can ask for free water * VOLUME: Music was a little bit loud but not terrible * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Lotsssss of seats when I came on a Monday late morning-afternoon. Very cool that there were private rooms (which can be reserved two hours in advance if you call them), tables, bar-style seating upstairs, and most importantly, comfy couches!! * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions BOTTOM LINE: I can't believe I almost missed out on this gem. I'll be back soon!

The foam was velvety and creamy. The matcha had a smooth, earthy flavor with subtle sweetness. Oatmilk was the default choice, and while I usually think oatmilk can overpower matcha, it worked well in this drink. It is a little pricey for 1 drink, but that also seems to be the norm these days for specialty drinks. This is more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to hang out.
