Personal favorite these days!! Cedar House is an actual house that they remodeled into a home café! It's super cozy and offers lots of different types of seats. They have outdoor seating in the backyard, but I like sitting inside at the big table in the back next to the kids play area. The service is standard, and they seem to be more reserved and just chill :) They hold small biz markets on certain days of the week and also have prayer meetings on Friday nights. What a home-y feel, literally! It is located in an actual home prob turned into a coffee shop. I just parked on lot in Orange circle and walked over. What got me to stop by was their house syrups! I got a vanilla iced latte with almond milk. I'm assuming it's only one size bc they never asked LOL. It was delicious! The only thing that steers me for next time is how steep the price is for a small $7.50, of course with ALT milk. It's in between maybe a Starbucks grande and tall. Love the ambiance and the "homey" feel of this place. It's like walking into a well-designed craftsman home and the open floor plan and spacing is great for a play date, work area, or even a grab and go. Parking is limited to street parking. There is an area for little kids to play inside complete with some toys. The stoneware mugs are cute and you can purchase your own. The staff was friendly enough but there is not really anything in the way of protein rich food (except the quiche). I love this coffee shop because of the vibes inside. Parking is hard to find if you're trying to park in the neighborhood (a lot of the closer streets are permit only), but you can park at the train station or the parking structure by Orange Circle. They only have one size for drinks and its pretty small so I think they are a little overpriced. The matcha had a very vibrant color but it would be nice if it had more matcha flavor. There is a prayer room and childrens play area too so it's family friendly. read more

This has become one of my favorite cafes to go to. It feels so warm and welcoming inside. It can get pretty busy but for good reason! The coffee is gooood. I usually buy an americano or a latte. The almond croissant is my go-to pastry! There is a lot of seating due to having places in front, inside and out back! I also noticed a lot of space for little kids to play which I think is great for parents with toddlers/babies. I'll say the only challenge may be for parking but I find that parking at the train station lot for free is nice. Also some of the neighborhood streets work (but pay attention to street sweeping days). Or if you'd like to get a nice little walk beforehand just part down the street at the parking garage. Super cute coffee house. Their matcha latte was decent and there is only one size for their drinks and the price was pretty steep in my opinion for what you get. The service was super friendly and welcoming. They have an area for kids to play which is amazing as I'm a mother. The only suggestion I would make as a mom, I would try to maintain the toy area. I know it's not a daycare. However, there were broken toys which is not safe and could be a liability and the outside area could use some tidying up. It was pretty dirty and not as appealing as the rest of the place. Again, I know it's not a daycare but if you're going to offer areas for babies, toddlers and kids this might be something to consider. read more

Coffee shop like no other. So many beautiful details make the space so unique, welcoming and peaceful. Loved the matcha, lemonade and quiche Lorraine. I've been passing this place regularly on my commute to work and didn't even realize it was a coffee shop until I searched for local cafes near me! It's such a cute place!!! The outside patio is spacious and decorated in a way that doesn't make it feel like you're sitting right on the street. The inside is very spacious but so cozy; it feels like you're inside somebody's home. There's plenty of cozy sofas to lounge in or tables to work at and they're all spaced out nicely. The girls at the counter were so hospitable and friendly, very easy to chat with. The passionfruit kouign-amann was great and so were the lattes. I got vanilla on the side but didn't even need it as the latte tasted great on it's own. I do wish their sizes matched their prices, though. What an amazing and unique spot :) what they were able to do with the space is just extraordinary. If I had a home like this, I'd be pretty happy! There's a lot of seating everywhere like you would find in a house - dining table, living room, little corners of seats in random spots, benches by the window. Space is very airy and light, which is so great for hanging out. I do see a lot of people working here on laptops but it does get a bit noisy in here with the acoustics. Coffee is great - tried out my regular iced latte with honey and it was delicious! Size is on the smaller side though. Finally made it to this cozy café--and it did not disappoint! We ended up parking at the nearby train station since we weren't sure about the small lot they had. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the overall ambiance was lovely. I really appreciated how dog-friendly both the front and back seating areas are. Came here on a Wednesday with my 2 kids. Didn't it expect it to be busy but it wasn't overly crowded. Baristas we're kind and helpful. Had an iced latte and almond croissant both very delicious. Got a couple babycinos which is basically steamed milk for the kiddos. I think this should've been free since it's just milk unless they offered other options for kids like juice. Had lots of different spaces; the front patio, inside area, and back patio. They had kid areas both inside and back area. Inside they had books and toys for the kids. The back area had a special section for kids with toys and a playhouse and a few chairs. This is gated which is a nice touch to keep the kids contained in one area and gives peace of mind for parents. The back area is also shaded! Baristas were very helpful in accessing the back area for my kid's wagon. The only thing is I wished the front area had a gate for its entrance so kids can enjoy that area too and parents won't be concerned about kids heading to the street. We walked here but looked like they don't really have a parking area other than street parking. My kids and I enjoyed this place. Definitely will visit again soon! read more

I love the atmosphere of the place as well, its a victorian style home that has a very cozy vibe. I ordered an iced coffee with honey syrup and cold foam. I like my coffee extra strong so I added an additional espresso shot to my iced coffee. The syrups are made in house. The salted maple cold foam was perfect. I liked how it was not overly sweet. Stopped by for coffee and some pastries yesterday and was glad I did! This spot is located at the tail end of Old Town Orange, in a really cute house. A word of warning - parking sucks, so be prepared to walk a bit once you've found parking on one of the local streets. Once you make it in though, it's a really cute house with a homey vibe and plenty of seating to work or hang out. The staff was friendly and made our stuff relatively fast considering how busy it was, but they weren't the best about calling names when things were ready. Regardless, the hot matcha latte and iced vanilla latte with salted maple cold foam we got were both VERY good, I just wish they were a bit bigger for the price. Their almond croissant was great, and we enjoyed the ham & cheese croissant as well. We're definitely getting spoiled with all of the great coffee spots in the area, and now we've got another one to visit more often. The coffee is lovely; loved my hot flat white with lavender flavor. My husband had an iced brown butter latte. If you don't mind a little more lively noise level and the occasional shrill baby squeals (I grew up in a big family, so it doesn't bother me, lol) then come visit. I kept seeing and hearing about Cedar House in Orange and finally went to check it out with my wife and some friends. From the outside it is such a beautiful place, not even a typical shop but an old style white home with cozy outdoor seating. Inside it feels quiet, relaxing, and the perfect spot to study or just hang out. The furniture and decor are really well thought out and you can tell a lot of detail went into creating the vibe. I thought it was awesome that the back area even has a little kids play space which is so thoughtful for families. I ordered the vanilla chai and it was excellent. Great chai flavor, not too overpowering with cinnamon, and not overly milky which I appreciated. My wife and friends loved their drinks as well. We also got to talk with the owner and manager and they were extremely sweet and welcoming. The whole place felt warm, homie, and inviting.
