We passed by here after we had an appointment to pick up some sweet bread (pan dulce) for a get together that we had the next morning and as one of my guest was eating a piece of bread they noticed a piece of hair baked into the loaf. It was really gross. The staff was nice and the store looked decent on the inside but we did not want to continue to eat any more bread and we did purchase a fair amount so we were kind of bummed. read more

This is my absolute favorite bodega!! Their pollo asada is amazing! AND priced very well too! We also get their carne asada and their salsas (near the butcher counter) that are made fresh daily! Dropped In largely based on the yelp reviews just to pick up some chicken and steak to barbecue. Staff and manager could not have been nicer and I use the Yelp check in to get a free container of delicious green salsa Verde. I'll be back. The price was right. The food was delicious and it makes a barbecue so easy!!! read more

The store looks small, but it has quite an assortment of items once you walk in. It's a good place to find Latino foods and products. Pastries are a little pricey, I recommend asking if they are fresh as we went in the evening and the pan dulce was a bit dry. read more

more like 3.5 out of 5 stars. as most places have banned dining indoor due to the coronavirus, we decided to see what types of places were open on door dash. i'm so glad this place was open, since they have carne asada fries. We ended up getting the below. 1x Adobada (Sopes) $3.49 1x Carne Asada Fries (Antojitos) $8.49 1x Guacamole (Extras) $1.49 1x Lengua (Burritos) $6.99 Everything was really good and filling, i think for two people, the above items are more than enough. I think you can even skip the sopes and be full from everything. I actually think i shouldve skipped the sopes, as it was kinda soggy by the time it got to my house, but that could be because i didn't eat it fresh. The lengua burrito and the carne asada fries were money tho, loved it 100%. Next time i'm craving mexican food, i'll order from this place again in the future. This review is solely for the Carne Asada. The Ranchero meat is seven dollars a pound which actually is not a bad price. I came here this morning and just grilled it up for some tacos and I have to say it's my favorite Carne Asada I've ever made and I've cooked up dozens over the years. The meat is very high-quality, tender and soft and the marinade is amazing. PS make sure you stop and get one of the fresh fruit Popsicles on the right when you walk in it's like a mini separate business for two dollars it's a steal and they are amazingly fresh and the lady that runs it is extremely friendly. read more

I've been coming here for years mostly to get their Pollo to put on the grill, and one or more of their tasty salsas. The last two visits the pollo and recently the pork have been way over salted. Very disappointing. Hopefully others have noticed and they will change it back. read more

Went today for the first time and asked for 3 pounds of ranchera but when I went home they gave me cecina ( cheaper meat) and 2 pieces of ranchera went back to swap out for ranchera but the owner refused, started cursing, and wanted to kick me out. What a fabulous find after dinner at Tacos Los Reyes a few doors down in the same strip mall! This little market will satisfy most of your basic weekly produce needs. There several rows of non-perishables and they even have Shin Ramen! The real magic, however, resides in the Carniceria, where the deals of the century can be found gloriously flavorful pre-seasoned meats (there are, of course, unseasoned options as well). Bonus points for accepting AMEX Apple Pay. Not even anywhere nearby by grocery standards but will be back! read more

A friendly neighborhood grocery store, taqueria, and bakery. While this store isn't as big or well known as the ubiquitous grocery chains we're familiar with, it has a great selection of items that typically wouldn't be stocked at the mainstream places. I usually come here to pick up some ice cream popsicles. They have so many different and unique varieties to choose from. My personal favorite is the coconut cream. It's made with coconut and milk for a smooth and creamy texture. Shaved strips of coconut are also mixed in to add more flavor. All the ice cream is made with fresh ingredients, come individually wrapped, and are delicious. There's a flavor for every palate, and each popsicle is only $2. The meat market has a great selection of cuts. If you're looking to make tacos, fajitas, or any other Mexican dish, they've got you covered. The meat is fresh and can be cut to order. The taqueria tucked away in the corner adjacent to the ice cream. They offer all kinds of meats, and if you come in Tuesdays, select varieties are $0.99. These include carne asada, adobada, and carnitas. The tacos are about double the size of your standard street tacos, and pack plenty of flavor. The tacos come topped with diced onions and cilantro. The market is located on a busy strip mall. It's not a huge market but they carry lots of veggies meat and groceries, not to mention their drinks and ice cream. The veggies and meats are super fresh. Their pastries and bread are awesome too always baked fresh. Service is always friendly. Highly recommended and 5-star all the way. read more

Omg to die for mango like soft served sorbet. They put teal hand squeezed lime juice.....that was a total plus. No big chunks of ice no chuncks of mango, I do not like those things in my mango drinks. This is by far in my opinon my #1 favorite better than Cancun. Many things about this market are very good and the people who work here are friendly and hardworking. I like to talk a lot, in other places they seem to get up tight and act as though work is most important. Don't get me wrong, work is primordial; so they do bust their tail. A rare find, excellent work ethic and tops in customer skills. Their meat department, the guys give you the cuts you want and their marinated chicken is the bomb. My 92 year mom thinks I am chef extraordinaire when I grill it at home. Thanks to Market La Bodega...Oh and the ice cream is the best. Probably one of the best, Hispanic, grocery markets that I've been to in 24 years of living in Orange County. The owner is very friendly and always make sure that we're taken care of. We went for some taco meat, tortillas, chips and fresh salsa to make street tacos at home. The butcher hooked us up with fresh Carne Asada, Pollo, and Al Pastor taco meat right out of the case. Everything was fresh, good quality, and very tasty. The staff was friendly and the store had everything we needed for your dinner menu. A great gem in our neighborhood! read more

I almost hate to give this away because I want to keep it all to myself. But this place is Legit. Not only is the owner an absolute gentlemen but his staff, cooks, and whoever maintains the place because it is flawless, is to be commended. First off let's start with their carne asada burritos. (Photos tom come because I eat them so fast!) Because the are a carneceria their meat goes from butcher to cook right on the spot. No sitting meat. It is so fresh and perfectly spiced. Wow wow wow. Since my referral there from another local business, about two weeks ago, I can't stop going there. It's that good. And their carnita tacos....omg! Did I say they were made out of beef?!! Right?! I know total like split universe going on. But seriously. This place is amazing. So their butchers professionals. Old school. Know how to cut the meat. Everything is fresh and beautiful. Oh and do they have ice cream! Old school Michoacan ice cream! Omg! No filmy aftertaste. Just pure good home made ice cream. And they cater!!!! Oh yea. They have an adorable market. The meat at this location is so good. The marinate they use is flavorful. Right when you walk in you are immediately swept off your feet by all the fresh aromas and it leads you straight to the carniceria. You also get a free salsa if you check in on Yelp....I chose the red salsa.....it had a hit of sweetness to it, I wasn't a fan. Overall spent at $80 on chicken, ranchera, & ribs. Disgusting. Do not order from here. Filthy, rancid old, gamey, goat pen at the filthy County Fair Sour Cream. The chicken was old and stale. Carne asada burrito. Old and stale. I was terrified to try the shrimp cocktail. So I call....cashier. "oh. I don't know....come in." I work hard. I don't have time for this. So I call back. Told the manager that he didn't want me to go in there. He told me to go through Delivery service for refund. So basically they're telling me, "Idk....not my problem...." WTF? A hidden gem. My bf brought me here for their sorbet. The lime sorbet is ridiculously good and I don't even like lime sorbet. When you walk in you can smell the fresh bread and pastries baking, I love it. Today I went out on a limb and tried something other than sorbet. I ordered the carne asada fries. These are probably the best carne asada fries I've had thus far. I haven't posted a review in awhile but these guys deserve one. The owner is pretty cool. He's always polite and helpful. My office had this food catered a few days ago and this was the best mexican food I have ever had!! The enchilada were simple cheesy, gooey and very spicy. I love spicy. But the important part is the taste and I wouldn't know until I got home and cooked it... The taco meats I purchase: carne asada, pollo and adobada all came out so good! I purchased the marinated meats and the seasoning and marination was great! I definitely will be back here for my meat purchasing!

A bit of confusion when you open and it seems like you've opened a door to the packing plant, but go through the plastic slats (following another sign that says office) and the fridge is right there. The woman in the office who helped me pay for the sausages was very kind. They also had a lot in stock. I'll definitely be back!

Own by the local Vietnamese Family, it sells some of the best marbled meat at a reasonable price. This butcher meat store has ribeye that is sliced thinly enough for pho at an affordable price as well as various other meats in the refrigerator such as brisket, seasoned marinated short ribs (galbi), probably venison and goat meat if you ask. Each meat has a great amount of intramuscular fats that melts in your mouth as you eat pho or even Shabu. I would buy 2 pounds of this every time, enough for a family of 4 or 5. I can see behind the counter that the butchers are busy slicing the meat away daily. If they don't have it in the fridge, they will slice it for you as you order. You can tell this place is honest and quality by the amount of yelp stars it has! That's very rare.

I have…read moretried chimichurri sauces from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but they aren't really very authentic. A friend recommended seeing what El Gaucho might have, so I visited the next day. The market is easy to spot with a big street sign out front. There are only two parking spots in front, one is a handicapped space. There's plenty of parking around the back though. When you walk in, you will see the main market with lots of items and brands I've never seen before. Slightly to the right is their deli counter with lots of meats, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. To the right of the entrance is a dining area, and another counter where you can order sandwiches, empanadas, pizza, French fries, and drinks. I was laser focused on getting the chimichurri and leaving since I was short on time. It is in plastic bottles in plain view on on top of the deli counter. I purchased the regular variety, but they also have a spicy version. I could already tell this was going to be way better than the other two sauces I tried. I've had it on a steak, and on my breakfast scrambled eggs, and it's in a whole different league from the grocery versions I tried. It looks just like a restaurant chimichurri, oil based with lots of herbs and spices. I just had a nice filet mignon with chimichurri at a good Argentinan restaurant last week, and this chimichurri is about 90% as good. I moved it from the plastic bottle it comes in to a glass jar which will hopefully help preserve it longer, and store it in the refrigerator. I now have no reason to look elsewhere for chimichurri. My friend visits here periodically and says the sandwiches are excellent. I'll have to return again to try one, get more chimichurri, and explore the market and deli to see what other goodies they have.

Never had a Milanese sandwich, so no idea what to expect. To me the sandwich lacked a little flavor so used the sauce from the empanada on it. The crisp on the beef was spot on and the lettuce was really fresh. Very unassuming place but the staff were so nice. Not sure i would go out of my way to eat here but if I crave empanadas I would get the beef again.

I think their mac salad is good, but not worth the upcharge. I do suggest getting extra sauce on the side, as usually the one cup they give isn't enough based on the portion. I also love ordering ahead and just grab n go. This and Urban Grill are both solid options.
