I've been coming for probably 30+ years as my dad got us Troy's as kids and I continue to come to this day. Not sure if ran by the same people but always try to get this once every few months or so as it was family owned (hopefully still is). Inflation is real though. Remember the cheeseburger special was like $10 or so. Nowadays it's $15 and upgraded to chili cheese fries so just shy of $29 after taxes. No wait when I got there and food came out hot and quick. Friendly staff. Ate inside. Food is always good. One of the best burgers I've had and continue to have. Hard to find a good "hole in the wall" burger but this place always hits the spot. Chili cheese fries were bigger than I expected and got onions on them. Chili is always amazing (usually split a chili dog with my dad). It filled me up but just wish the prices weren't as high, but I understand you gotta raise it due to price of food going up and rent. One thing I wish they brought back was their ground beef burrito. That was always spicy and hit the right spots when under the weather (cleared the sinuses). read more

I haven't been to Troy's in a while, but figured we'd stop by on an early weekend morning. It was pretty crowded for the morning. The place looked the same as I remembered even years ago. We got the breakfast burrito and it was huge. It was packed with hash browns, bacon, and cheese. We also got the carne asada burrito and the meat was in small chunks. I came here and grabbed the breakfast bacon burrito. Solid 8/10. The bacon had good flavor, not too greasy, and everything was well balanced overall. One side had a little too much hash brown, so it wasn't perfectly even, but it was still really good. The tortilla held up and didn't fall apart, and the portion actually filled me up. The fried zucchini is arguably the best side I've ever had at any eatery. That old school feel of a diner style spot where the food and the service is spot on, then you won't be disappointed. I want to give 4 stars so bad. I'm kind of a breakfast burrito snob, and I have been on the quest for the best one in southern CA. Basically if there is a breakfast burrito on the menu, I'm getting it. I think I saw this place on a tik tok, so I had to try it. This is my second visit. I wanted to love this burrito, and it has sooo much potential! Is it the "best breakfast burrito" as their sign says? Not for me, but still pretty good. The good: very good ratio of ingredients. A lot of places stuff them with potatoes and make them hash brown heavy, they don't. The tortilla is awesome. The amount of cheese was perfect, and the salsa verde was also very good. Not so good: Everything was overcooked. The eggs were cooked to death, and the sausage seemed like it was from the day before and microwaved. The cheese never melted the whole time I ate my burrito. In my opinion (and I'll make you the best breakfast burrito you've ever had) you have to leave the eggs a little loose (over medium is even better, but not many willing to take that on) so that it's not so dry. There needs to be some gooey or greasy! All in all the burrito was a 7/10, and service was good. I'll be back, but I want to try a few more joints first. Maybe that will change my opinion. read more

It's been about six months since my last visit since it's not on my usual route, but today I decided to stop by on my way to work. To my surprise, the price for a burrito was over $13 pretty shocking for a breakfast burrito. On top of that, the quality just wasn't there. The cheese completely overpowered everything, with barely any meat or egg inside. Honestly, it felt more like a quesadilla than a burrito. The service was just ehh, nothing to talk about. Also, be careful when leaving the parking lot, cars parked along the street block your view, making it tricky and a bit unsafe to pull out. This was my first time going to this place, I always drive by it and it says "Best Breakfast Burrito", so I gave it a try. As I started to eat it, I noticed that the burrito was 80% potato and a small sliver of chorizo, egg and cheese. There was also no flavor to anything. The chorizo was dry, the potato was bland, and the egg was burnt. I can't believe I paid $13 plus tax for this burrito. I read some other reviews as well and a lot of other people had the same issue. Sadly this was my first and last time eating at this place. I recommend you guys take the "Best Breakfast Burrito" sign down, that is false advertisement. The service was quick but I wonder if what they are preparing is fresh, or has it been sitting out? So sadly I would not recommend this place unless they change the way they make the burritos. Decided to go to Troy's on a whim while I was in the area for nostalgia's sake, and unfortunately it was underwhelmed. This used to be the spot during late start days in school where everybody would go for a breakfast burrito. Got the sausage burrito with cheese, and the sausage itself was not great and has an artificial taste to it, almost a little sweet, which I definitely do not like. In the late 90's my brother lived in an apartment across the street from Troy's and we would eat there often. I haven't had it since then! Husband wanted a breakfast burrito, so I suggested we try Troy's. He got a bacon burrito, I had a ham & egg sandwich, and I ordered a large iced tea - over $26! I thought that was a bit much. We took our food home. He said the salsa in the burrito was way too hot for him and he would get it on the side next time. He only ate half his burrito (it was quite large) and I had the rest of it the next day. The green salsa is indeed spicy, but I really liked the flavor. I would definitely get that burrito in the future. My ham & egg sandwich wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it would be similar to all other breakfast sandwiches out there, round (a bun or english muffin?) egg, ham, cheese, sauce. Nope. This was toasted white bread, mayo, egg, thick ham, loads of shredded lettuce and tomato. I removed the tomato and the lettuce removed itself...shredded lettuce is an odd, messy choice, it was falling out all over the place. Other than this being very different from what I thought I would get, I did like it. But, after trying the burrito, I don't think I would order another sandwich. Husband said he wants to go back for burgers, hopefully we like those too! read more

Just a quick update. One thing to love about Troy's is nothing ever really changes. It's the same burger I got 15 years ago. Love it. But, dang, inflation is real. A burger that cost $2.99 10 years ago is now $6! I don't blame Troy's though. The minimum wage has doubled and the cost of everything is just higher.
