    Costal White Fish

Bosscat is a must try spot when visiting the Orange Circle. The service was amazing and the menu is so well rounded, there's definitely something for everyone. For the appetizer we got the maple butter brussels sprouts. They were a tad bit sweet for me still really great. We got a variety of mains to share: coastal white fish, pan seared salmon, 12 hour beef short rib, and bosscat burger. Each dish was spot on but salmon and short rib were the for sure stand outs for me. The salmon was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. The short rib was melt in your mouth perfection.

Came here for my friend's baby shower and it was a perfect spot for both dining and hosting events. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. The staff stayed on top of everything, keeping the food replenished and making sure we were good on drinks. Everything was fresh and served hot, and the cocktails on the menu were all delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sliders were flavorful, the salad was refreshing, and the chilaquiles surprisingly stayed crispy and full of flavor and shredded meat. It's located in downtown Orange and luckily we found street metered parking right in front. Will come here again to dine!

I had finished my last chemo at UCI and wanted to meet up with family that had driven and flown for dinner. Loved the restaurant location and the open atmosphere. Menu was a little limited, but I was very very pleased with the tenderness of my short ribs. So delicious everyone was pretty happy with their meal choices. In addition to the pictures. There was a chicken salad, a burger...but everyone also agreed that the short ribs were the best. We also ordered I forgot what it was called, but it was a purple cheesecake ($17) to go. It was pretty good too, although I think too expensive.

GOLD MEDAL CHICKEN SANDWICH with salad
    Sunday B.

First time here and was a solid choice. They seem to specialize in burgers..but I got the gold medal chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was a tad salty so I removed some of the bacon. All the ingredients were fresh. Service was good. Dining area is big and open with high ceilings. Has a gastropub vibe... Parking was easy peasy. Plenty of parking in the free public lot about 2 blocks away. Also street parking if you are lucky.

I've walked by this restaurant numerous times when in Old Town Orange, but since it was a little later than usual, I thought I'd catch brunch this morning. They offer both indoor and covered, somewhat outdoor seating. There are tables and cushioned bench seating, but it's a little crowded. They have great booth seating on the right hand side, but that's set aside for parties of six. I didn't even ask. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is divided into food on one side and drinks on the other. There were couples and groups, including children, enjoying Sunday brunch. I could hear Sabrina Carpenter and Smash Mouth playing on the overhead speakers. I ordered a mimosa from the classic $5 cocktail menu. It was good and strong. For my main meal, I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, which comes with a side of sour cream. I added an egg for $1.99. It was delicious. The meat was shredded and mixed in with the tortilla chips. My egg was over medium as requested. I finished the entire thing. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Parking: Free, street parking.

Maple Butter Brussel Sprouts and Chicken + Cheese Dip

Had a great first visit to Bosscat Kitchen and Libations. Came on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and my friend and I were seated almost immediately, which was a perfect start. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. The spicy chicken and cheese dip was salty, rich and flavorful. The pig candy was one of my favorites, and the maple butter Brussels sprouts were incredible and perfectly sweet. We paired everything with white wine and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

    Whiskey Room

We had a family reunion abd it was a private event. Casey communicated with me via email and answered every question I had very promptly. The Whiskey Room sat 12 of us very comfortably, and we could turn down the music to the older folks in our group could hear better. Our server was fantastic and we had plenty of room to put gifts for Mother's Day on the side counters. There are extra chairs in the room so it's easy to move around and visit with all members if the group. The food was great, and drinks were very inexpensive (we had brunch there. Highly recommend for private events.

    Steak and eggs plate

Came here for brunch twice recently and they have changed their brunch menu from before. For one the options to select from seem smaller than before. Bummed they took away the fruity pebble French toast and the steak sandwich off the brunch menu. First time we went since the change I got the steak and eggs plate (which was really good) bc it was either that or the basic breakfast plate since nothing else really called to me. My partner got the breakfast sandwich which he said was okay. Second time we went since the change I again got the delicious steak plate and my partner got the breakfast burrito which he did not care for and stated there was more egg than anything else in there. We will say that the cinnamon roll that's croissant based was ridiculously good and probably our favorite dish we've had recently.

Ahi lettuce wraps. Doesn't look like much, but oh my yum!
    Ana N.

My. Goodness. I am going to be dreaming of the ahi lettuce wraps for the foreseeable future. The mezcal was good, the food was good, the service was amazing. The music is loud, but not unbearable. Definitely recommend this establishment for anyone in Orange.

Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! Finally, the environment. This time was different as we brought a dog. The perk of Bosscat kitchen and libations is that they are pet friendly on the patio. The patio wasn't crowded and we were far enough away from other tables so we didn't feel crowded. I can't wait to come back for another great experience! I will add, since we came closer to the holidays the restaurant wasn't as busy and had plenty of parking on a weeknight.

Service from Anthony was just amazing! Very helpful and informative about the menu. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

We came in as a group of nine and had already started ordering drinks when one of the staff members addressed my brother in a really rude way. Instead of just letting him know politely that he was being loud, she spoke to him in a way that felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Honestly, it made the whole group feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I get that it can get busy, but when you work in a place like this, there's an expectation to handle situations with a little more patience and professionalism especially with a large group of customers. The interaction just wasn't handled well at all and it definitely impacted our experience.

If you get a chance to come here for brunch, you will not be disappointed! We ordered the "Ham-azing" and the "Gravy Train," and wow -- both were incredible. The croissant was so flavorful and perfectly flaky. The ham was delicious and not fatty at all, which I really appreciated, and the cheese was a mild white cheddar blend with parmesan that tied everything together perfectly. The Gravy Train was just as good -- two biscuits topped with boneless fried chicken and smothered in gravy. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot. The portions were generous, so definitely bring your appetite! Between the food, the vibe, and the friendly staff, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back!

Is it loud inside where one has to talk loud to b heard?

They do have music playing, but we had a side booth and everyone could hear each other pretty well.

    Do they serve Easter brunch?

    I don't know

Is there live music Saturday nights? And what kind of music? Is it loud?

I don't recall music there. This is the one in Orange. There is also one in Irvine.

Is the dinner menu available at lunchtime during the week?

    Check the website.

Is there still a mandatory 20% gratuity on each Check?

No. That was for street fair only. 20% will still be added to parties of 6 or more but that is all

So, you close at 230 on Saturday and reopen at 330?

Yes. We take an hour in between brunch and dinner to reset our kitchen due to having such high volume nights

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes. They have an outside patio, where you can take your dogs.

Does anyone know the Spotify playlist they play here?

The brunch playlist is flashback remix 2020 😊😊

Hello. Kids are always allowed. We do have some kid friendly options on our dinner and brunch menus.

3pm-6pm. Yes you can but so far it hang been too busy.

How is the parking? Is there a designated lot? Main reason I steer away from the circle in Orange establishments which is unfortunate since there are so many good ones.

Hi! So we parked at the structure and walk to Bosscat. It wasn't a far walk. Parking wasn't an issue for us. It was on a week day around 2:00pm.

Will this location take part in the industry night like your Irvine location?

Not to start off. Industry night is going to be revisited and changed in both locations. As of now either location does not do industry night. We should have a new offering available by this summer

This year, we opt'd to try Haven Craft Kitchen & Bar in Old Town Orange. The menu looked enticing and the Yelp reviews were positive. Such a cute, modern Californian restaurant with chill/laidback vibes. Known for their gourmet comfort food, craft cocktails, and an extensive selection of beer, wine, and whiskey, it offers a warm atmosphere with indoor and patio seating. The menu emphasizes fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. Definitely a place that could be good for brunch, dinner, happy hour, and group hangouts. Our server was nice and attentive. Just parking along the Old Towne streets can be a pain, but we lucked out with front row parking. The hubs & I got different dishes for our appetizer, entree & dessert courses, so we could try a lil bit of everything. French onion soup, duck confit & sticky toffee pudding for me and locally grown burrata, 6 oz prime flat iron steak and pumpkin cheesecake for him. My soup was deelish. Full of depth & onion flavor and cheesy goodness. Not overly salty at all, like others can sometime be. The duck was moist and accompanied the beans, pork belly sofrito & spring onion well. I was pleasantly surprised, since I'm usually not a huge fan of beans. The sticky toffee pudding was decadently sweet and rich. I could only take a few bits, but glad I was able to try it. Not something I'd order on my own accord usually. The hub's burrata app was ok, wish it was more softer in texture, to eat & spread with the grilled toast. His flat iron steak was cooked perfectly, to our medium-rare specifications. It was soft and tender. His pumpkin cheesecake was surprisingly sooo good. Definitely my fav of the 2 desserts. I'm not a huge pumpkin fan, but it was light & subtle and not an overly rich cheesecake. It was surely baked to melt in your mouth. My hubs & I finished that dessert, for sure! Mmm.. Overall, such a good food find. A must try & RxFoodie recommend ~ esp. during OCRW when it's such a deal for all that food!

So the beautiful day began with milk tea and chocolate before we headed to the newly opened restaurant Fat of the Land for their Mother's Day brunch, conveniently located on North Main Street in Santa Ana. I later found out it was a special Sunday brunch created just for Mother's Day. Thanks to my daughter's reservation, we were seated right away. The menu selection was smaller than usual, probably because of the special brunch menu, but every tapas dish sounded delicious. We ordered the Castelvetrano olives, Galician smoked paprika octopus, French steak tartare, and Basque cheesecake, paired with a Fiero Spritz and Red Sangria. Both the octopus and steak tartare were outstanding. The Galician smoked paprika octopus was tender, flavorful, and carried just the right hint of spice. The French steak tartare was served on crispy toasted bread with cheese sprinkled on top -- a creative and delicious twist on a classic dish. Fat of the Land truly feels like a hidden gem, and I had such a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day with my daughter there.

The sangria was super delicious, not overly sweet, which we liked. We ordered the arepo plate which was devoured instantly. - good appetizer to start. Next up was the octopus, pork peppers, shrimp and cheesecake. The shrimp tasted fishy and not my favorite. Octopus was good... decent. Mushrooms were fine. Cheesecake was passable. Over the sangria, arepo plate and pork peppers were the best thing of the night. Staff was very friendly, the setting was intimate. Overall good dinner.

The space is BEAUTIFUL, both during the day and at night. When we checked in on Friday evening they even had live music, but unfortunately I was feeling a little sick so I skipped it and told myself I'd redeem the experience the next day before heading to Disneyland. And I'm glad I did. In the daytime, the patio area is gorgeous--you can really appreciate the firepit seating and the little lake with koi fish outside. Such a relaxing vibe. We came by around 4PM to pregame before Disney and the bar was pretty busy. Huge shoutout to Arvey, the bartender who took care of us during our visit. Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. Honestly, I was really impressed with my experience here. I even came back for another drink at breakfast before checking out of the hotel lol. The dining area also looked beautiful and the food coming out to other tables looked really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back anytime I'm around the Anaheim area again.

Parking validation is done at the front desk. They have a solid menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts and a very nice craft cocktail menu. It's sectioned off at the south east end of the lobby and feels like a more open space than a standard restaurant or bar and the vibe feels very OC, hipster, upscale. The only downside is the service is not consistent the last two times we've been here. The night we visited, there was a singer playing piano between the bar and restaurant area. I love entertainment at any venue, but the sound was way too loud for indoors and we couldn't hear each other talking. The reason I suggested The Peel for dinner was because I've been able to have conversations with friends and catch up without any competing noise from neighboring tables or crowds in the past. Maybe call ahead of time if there's going to be entertainment and if there's an event in town (Motocross was happening this weekend) to gauge the crowd and noise level before you go. The bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of craft cocktails to choose from and the drinks are consistently good. I had the Como la Flor cocktail this night and in the past I've enjoyed the Fera & the Dragonfly cocktails. The appetizers are great to share with your friends and there's lots to choose from. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the mini sliders a lot and my friends really loved the chorizo flatbread. For the entree I got the smash burger and it's pretty filling and rich. You get fries with the order and the fries are perfectly crispy and tasty. For dessert we got the bread pudding, lemon cheesecake and lava cake. The lemon cheesecake was like biting a slice of lemon with some sugar. It's definitely for lemon lovers and I enjoyed it. Bread pudding ice cream was good but the bread pudding was alright and you can't go wrong with lava cake. Again, my only issue with the Peel is the service. It's not very hospitable compared to other restaurants I've visited. There was a bit of a wait from when we were seated to when our server showed up. He took our orders, the food and drinks would show up, and after that we didn't see our server for a while, so we were without drink refills and our table had dirty dishes that just sat there. I glanced around a few times and saw no servers on the floor, a server that was not ours that was far away or would try to flag one down for a refill on our waters but they were quickly leaving the area. We were waiting on the check, but just kept talking instead and then finally, when the check came we were in mid conversation catching up. He stopped by a few minutes later, picked up the check and realized we had not put our cards down to pay it and came back and dropped it off again. We paid using Google-Wallet at their point of sale system and sat back down to finish our conversation and the busser asked if he could remove the dirty dishes on our table and said, in a rude tone, "Yeah because we're closed already." We didn't realize they were closed since there was still a large crowd of people at the bar, and he could have said that in a polite way and said thank you for coming, but he made it known he has to set his jars of jam down on the table for breakfast tomorrow. Honestly, had our server come by much earlier and checked on us and left the bill, we would've left before closing. I don't usually think of a hotel restaurant as a go-to for dinner with friends, but this is the only one in a while that I would recommend because the vibe is unique. I hope the service improves, but other than that it's a solid restaurant.

Justyn was incredibly helpful in organizing everything beforehand and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. We had a party of 30 people, which can easily get chaotic, but everything went perfectly. Originally we planned to sit on the patio, and they had it ready for us. Because of the unexpected winds, they also prepared an indoor space just in case--and thankfully they did, because the wind ended up being too strong. The transition inside was seamless and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff during the event were amazing. Alison made sure there was never an empty glass during bottomless, the food came out quickly and smoothly even with such a large group, and the overall atmosphere was incredible. The food itself was great American brunch classics, and for bottomless they brought multiple juice options and had the table set up with bottles, juices, and water evenly distributed so everything felt organized and easy. What I appreciated most was that I never once had to worry about my guests. I was able to actually enjoy my birthday brunch instead of managing things, which meant a lot. After brunch our party continued into the afternoon with pool and drinks, and that transition was just as smooth. The vibes were so good that honestly none of us wanted to leave. They were also kind enough to keep our cake in the fridge and even brought it out with the candles lit for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. Absolutely no complaints. If I could host every brunch event here for the rest of my life, I would. Truly 10/10 for the staff, the location, the atmosphere, and the overall experience.

It was packed so the general manager Justyn helped up set up tables outside which made us feel extremely welcomed. Our server even gave us face stickers! You can tell they genuinely care about their guests- positive energy and service all around. This spot is also so cute for date nights. It's cozy and fun. They even even have a pool table and a photo booth for five dollars. They also offer different events on different nights, so the place always feels new and exciting! Also, their bottomless mimosa deal is SO worth it. If you purchase an entrée, you could get bottomless mimosa for a deal. Chef Carlos is also incredible- honestly I'm not the biggest taco/nacho fan but these were fire. Parking is always easy since they're nearby structure is around a two minute walk. The place also stays open until 2AM even on Weekdays!! Its hard to find that, especially in Irvine. And with Friendsgiving coming up, this is great place to bring your group and hangout. This place is spacious and doesn't feel crowded like other bars. Huge shoutout again to Justyn, Steven, and Chef Carlos for making the visit great. Will be back soon!
