I'd actually give this place 4.5 stars Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning with a fairly large group. I ordered the short rib chilaquiles (popular item). It was just ok....I'd probably wouldn't order it again. The taste was just ok, could've used a bit more short rib tho. The cinnamon bun is HUUUUGE! No wonder it was under "shareable" part of menu. The cinnamon bun itself was so good! It was crunchy on the outside and soft and warm in the middle. The only complaint is the glaze...that glaze was terrible. Not sure how to describe it, but it was not good. The loco moco was good. The hamburger beef patty wasn't dry. The gravy was flavorful and with the creamy mess of the yolk combined everything together. My daughter got the BLT. She said the bread was nice and crunchy, just the way she likes it. The waffle fries were just enough crunchy and soft on the inside. Service was great! The dinner menu looks good. I'd definitely wanna go back and try the dinner. We came here on a Saturday night, with reservations on opentable. Overall food was great, ambiance was great, service was average. We shared the pork belly, mushroom fries, buratta toast, corn brûlée. Portions were good and everything was delicious! Corn brûlée was our favorite followed closely by the burrata toast. Food came out quickly. Ambiance is cool, we appreciated the decor and the good music. The free parking around the corner at the city parking lot was nice. Service was just ok. Aside from the food coming out fast, the other service was relatively slow (taking our order, checking on us, etc). Our server made a joke(?) about me asking where the Mexican lager on the rotating draft came from (I assume he knows breweries outside of Mexico also make Mexican lagers...?). After a second visit, I had a very pleasant evening. Our server Amanda was so kind and attentive, constantly checking in making sure everything was going well! Came here for dinner with a friend who was in town. I usually don't come to the downtown Orange area because it can be so busy but I love that the parking structure is nearby so that's one thing not to have to worry about. We ordered drinks and the burrata appetizer and then each got an entree (my friend got the spicy rigatoni and I got the crispy chicken sandwich). Both were good but if and when I return I will probably just order a few more of the appetizer shareables which sounded more interesting! They were busy on a Wednesday night, but still very attentive. I appreciated that they say me when I arrived even though my friend's uber was running behind in traffic. I started off with their Bloody Mary, it came with a thick slice of candied bacon and a lime wedge right on top. First sip had a bold, savory flavor you only get from a bartender that knows how to make a good Bloody Mary, with a little kick but not too heavy. The bacon was sweet and smoky. Great combo! The Smokehouse Benedict was loaded with pulled pork, crispy hash, fresh biscuits, poached eggs, and a spicy fried chicken hollandaise poured over the top. The eggs were soft and perfect, the hollandaise was amazing, and the pork was super tender. It was messy, and packed with flavor. Decided to spend Thanksgiving out, and saw the menu for Bosscat pre-fix and was excited to try it out! The menu was definitely full of Thanksgiving favorites such as green bean casserole, pecan stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread stuffing, macaroni and cheese, turkey, ham, and apple cobbler. I enjoyed most of the food, except for the cobbler (it looked and tasted like melted pie). I also tried a mocktail, because I was honestly just craving an iced coffee lol, but it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and we got seated right away. I ordered a worklife balance to drink, and we decided on the smokehouse benedict and chicken fried steak for our entrees. Worklife Balance- This was a fruity and refreshing drink! The base flavor is pineapple but you also get a hint of citrus and cherry. Smokehouse Benedict- This was a hearty meal! You start off with pulled pork hash on biscuits, poached eggs, and topped with a spicy fried chicken hollandaise. The pork is tender and practically melted in the mouth. The biscuits are fluffy and soft. The eggs add a layer of creaminess and the sauce tied the flavors together. Every bite is just pure bliss! We had a 7:00pm reservation and were seated in the patio immediately. It was really hot today and still relatively warm when we arrived. They had large ceiling fans but due to the high ceiling, the air really couldn't be felt. The area wasn't packed (though the inside was), I imagine it can get warm if every seat was occupied. Our waitress, Charisse, was delightful! I ordered the short rib and my husband had the burger with an egg. I don't even know where to begin. The food was AMAZING. I inhaled my grilled green beans and mushrooms (which is merely a testament of how GOOD they were). I couldn't even finish the meal! I was sooo full! The mashed potatoes were super creamy and the meat was tender and flavorful. Can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow! This location is formerly Rods liquor. Any Orange native in the last 50 years would know where this is. I love the design and detail of the restaurant. They kept some features from Rods on display. Great atmosphere. We had the chicken and waffles and the donut burger. Both super tasty. The chicken and waffles was a perfect balance in flavor. No syrup is served, instead a hot honey, in my opinion not really hot but perfectly sweet. The donut burger (I don't recall if it had a different name on the menu) was good too. They had a private room that you can also reserve for parties and it was devorated with sifferent thpes of alcohol and liquor and some halloween decors. Very cool! I initially reserved for 6 persons then modified to 10 but they didnt get the update so when we got there, they only had a table for 6. I told them what happened and they nicely accomodated the change and we were seated right away. That was super great!! Our group ordered individual dishes and I ordered the country fried steak with sunny side eggs and unfortunately it was very salty for me, so i took off the gravy and the breading on the steak and it was better. My friends who orderd the steak and eggs said the same thing for their steaks and same for the fries that another girl in our party ordered. The mocktail and cocktail drinks were pretty and good!
