They validate for one hour only. We still paid $18 for an extra 1 hour and 10 minutes, which felt steep. Food is overpriced for what you get. The food was good and the restaurant itself was beautiful with a nice atmosphere. However, the service was honestly disappointing and not up to the standard I expected. After being seated, it took quite a while before any server acknowledged us. The most frustrating part was the parking situation. The restaurant is able to validate parking, but our server never mentioned it after we finished eating, and I forgot to ask before leaving. When I came back shortly after to ask for parking validation, the restaurant had already closed and locked the doors. Staff saw me outside, but nobody was willing to open the door to help. Because of that, I ended up paying $43.75 for less than 2 hours of parking, which completely ruined the experience for me. I came here for dinner last year and remember being delighted by all the apps and drinks, and was excited to go back. Today it was a little less enjoyable. I ordered a Mango Margarita. It came with salt and I'm guessing Tajin and a ton of lime juice on the rim - it was so sour that my mouth puckered every time I got it in my mouth, and I'm not a Tajin fan. This rim wasn't listed on the menu and I feel it should be - I wasn't asked if I wanted a salt or sugar rim and would've preferred the sugar. I got the Potato Taquitos, which I was excited for, but there was too much potato filling in each and not enough sauce, they came off as dry. They came on a bed of guac and shredded veggies, but the guac was kind of buried so you didn't realize it was there. The sauces on the side were lackluster - the green thicker one tasted like a boring tomatillo salsa, and the liquidy one was very spicy (which I can't do). I got the Veggie Burrito Bowl and asked for some cotija cheese on top - I'm shocked it didn't come with shredded jack cheese or anything, and adding this helped a lot. The guac it came with didn't have a ton of flavor, which is weird because I remember loving it last year. Something in it was very spicy and made it hard for me to eat, but I couldn't figure out what, and nothing listed in this on the menu should've been spicy, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. I'm told parking here is mandatory valet, but they charge after 2 hours, so we felt a little rushed. The plant themed decor is memorable and gorgeous - sadly I didn't get any pics! Our server was sweet but seemed scattered and uncomfortable. I asked for new silverware when my entree came out since my fork got in the spicy sauce I didn't like from the apps, and she never came back with it. After waiting 5 minutes while the rest of my table had entrees and was waiting for me to start eating, I finally asked a busboy, who quickly got me silverware and straws as I asked (both a short and large since he wasn't sure if I wanted it for my drink or water glass - very conscientious detail!) My 4 stars is really for the strong positive impression Puesto left on me last year - today was closer to a 3 star just because things were either too bland or too spicy without any warning from the menu. It's hard for me to not be happy with Mexican food but somehow everything was a little off from my preferences today. We decided to get away from Anaheim Convention Center and the crowds at NAMM for lunch, and figured Puesto would be a solid bet: we know they have good food, the restaurant's a bit of a walk (definitely nothing too far, but you do have to get out of the convention center area) and we thought not many people would know it was even there. Turns out we were wrong. The wait for two people at 12:30 on a Friday was over an hour. We were on our way back to the door when the hostess told us there was immediate seating at the bar, which we took. They did only have two people working the bar that day, which meant service was a bit slow, but at least they were very friendly. We got started with a couple of beers (the Negra for both of us) and the Salsa Flight to start. For my main, I ordered one Short Rib Quesabirria and one Tamarindo Shrimp; my husband got one short rib and one Carnitas. The salsa flight was interesting. It featured their "house" salsa alongside the more "elevated" versions, which ranged from sweet to spicy. I did like having the options but found myself getting full off of chips and dip before our tacos even made an appearance. Which, I guess wasn't a terrible thing, but next time I think I'd suggest a different appetizer. The tacos were hot and fresh. I enjoyed the Quesabirria version - the meat was tender and saucy, the crunchy cheese on top added a nice bit of texture and a smokiness that balanced the flavors. But but BUT! Y'all, that tamarindo shrimp taco, though! I wanted to sing it sonnets after the first bite. At around $30 per burrito, you expect to walk away feeling like you got your money's worth. The salsa was also noticeably different. We're used to a vibrant red color, but this one came out very dark, almost black, as if the ingredients had been over-roasted or charred. Listen, I'd definitely come back for the mushroom tacos - even my carnivore hubs - thought it was the best taco. Its spicy and wrapped up in crispy cheese. The verduras one was also flavorful. Everyone else tried the chicken al pastor and in their opinion, this was the best they tried. They also tried the short rib birria and the shrimp tacos and thought they were ok. Lots of options. I had an interesting first time visit at Puesto Anaheim... my party and I arrived at around 9pm and the restaurant closed at 10. When we asked to put our names on the list they said it could be up to a 40 minute wait, since the restaurant was almost closing we asked if it would be an issue for us to be sat so late or if we'd be rushed to place our orders. If this were the case, we planned to dine elsewhere to avoid inconveniencing the staff. The host kindly said "No theres no issue at all, as long as you're seated before 10, which you likely will be, there's no problem at all and you can take your time to order" so we decided to put our names down and wait. We eventually got seated and our waiter came to our table and after saying hello he follows with "Just a heads up we do close kitchen in about 8 minutes so I suggest you order now". We were not happy about this because we had hoped to avoid that exact sort of scenario which is why we asked the question to begin with. For the rest of the night, he didn't check on us much at all. Took away plates without asking if we were done, and was not attentive. We got no refills and to be quite frank he gave us attitude anytime we flagged him down to ask for something. As someone who works in food service, I understand being tired & wanting to go home, however, it's never okay to make paying customers feel unwelcome. Came with a friend for Dine in OC and was brutally reminded why I don't dine in Anaheim. We had reservations. After waiting around 20 to 25 minutes, we ended up taking two seats at the bar which is first come, first serve. I was able to count at least 9 tables that were empty and not set or ready for service. The wait time plus the failure to have our reserved table ready for us indicates they are either incredibly inefficient or severely understaffed. This is stressful when parking costs $25 per hour after two hours. I don't usually comment on plating, but their Dine in OC meal presentation leaves much to be desired. The entire meal was served on a small metal cafeteria tray. The chips in a paper carton a la McDonald's, making us look and feel out of place compared to everyone else's non-Dine-in-OC's ceramic serveware. PUESTO PERFECT MARGARITA: 3/5. Definitely on the sweet side, which is not really my thing, but my friend loved. Salt was on the entire side of the glass and not just the rim, which felt messy to me. PUESTO GUAC + CHIPS: 3/5. The funky chunks of parm in the guac were interesting. I had to ration the guac, which is never fun. FILET MIGNON TACO: 4/5. The texture was definitely not giving filet mignon, but it was seasoned well. BAJA FISH TACO: 4/5. A little soggy from the first bite, but again, very flavorful. read more

This little gem is located at the Westin close to Disneyland drive. As the hubster and I were in town and had a break we decided to venture over for their Taco Tuesday. As you enter you are greeted by friendly staff and contemporary decor. The bar area is spectacular and how they retrieve bottles is a feat to observe. Unfortunately, we arrived 45 minutes early for Taco Tuesday so our server accommodated us until the magical hour with some beverages and chips and guacamole. I will say I was a little disappointed in their guacamole, in that we ordered one of their special ones with Parmesan cheese and regular guacamole was delivered instead. Their tacos more than made up for the guacamole dilemma...they are out of this world delish! I ordered the grilled shrimp and the hubster ordered their filet mignon. I understand the appeal of elevating tacos with more premium ingredients, but for what these tacos cost, they just weren't worth it. this review is very long overdue, but i had a great time at puesto with my friends when celebrating taco tuesday! since we were all new to puesto, we decided to ask our waiter for some recommendations, and everything was really yummy! - guacamole sampler: this was soooo good! if you can't decide which guacamole to try, this is a good way to get a taste of all of them. the three different guacamoles include the classic guac, puesto perfect (guac + parmigiano-reggiano), and nogada (guac + pomegranate, mango, & walnuts). my favorite was definitely the nogada because i liked how the tart fruits complemented the guac. the portion sizes were really good too for all 4 of us to share! - crudo verde: the fish was so soft and fresh, and the sauce that came with it was perfectly citrussy and paired well with the fish. this was a big hit with our group! - short rib birria bowl: honestly nothing special or memorable, but it was good and had many different elements to it that all complemented each other. - tacos: short rib quesabirria - really yummy !! the meat was so soft and flavorful, and i loved the crispy cheese wrapped around the meat. i also got the baja fish taco, which was battered, seasoned, and fried well! both tacos were really yummy and i'd recommend them! - margaritas: i can't really remember which ones we got LOL but they were all good and had a good amount of alcohol for us to still enjoy our food! overall, i really liked everything i ate! i will say tho that puesto is definitely pricey, so be prepared to pay a lot more for not your standard tacos and guacamole. i wouldn't eat here regularly, but it is a great special occasion meal with your friends and loved ones! read more

My close friend was leaving for a 2 week vacation in Japan and I wanted to treat him to a meal before he left. My wife and I kept bouncing back and forth between a taqueria that we knew would taste good and "fancy" tacos. Ultimately, I didn't want to be too cheap and chose Puesto. The interior is expansive and very well done, it reminded me of a fancy Vegas restaurant in the best and worst of ways. We were seated at the "round" table right next to the glass where you could see in the kitchen. Passionfruit & mango shrimp ceviche: shrimp, passionfruit, mango, avocado, chile oil. My wife and friend chose this, it was too sweet for me and even too sweet for the kids. In hindsight we should have chose something more savory. Tacos: Comes on a blue corn tortilla, I got filet mignon, shrimp, quesabirria. The filet mignon and quesbuirria came in a cheese skirt that was somehow flavorless. My favorite shareable dish we got were the Shrimp tacos. AMAZING! The most delicious tacos i've ever put in my mouth, I don't know what more I can say but WOW! They melt in your mouth which so much flavor. A must have if you like shrimp! Now, for the tacos you HAVE to get the Filet Minon taco & the Hero. The Filet Minon is so delicious melts in your mouth as well for sure a MUST HAVE! So flavorful. Let's start with parking. Self parking is validated when you park at the Westin hotel for up to two hours. After that it's insanely pricey so be careful. I recommend making reservations as they get pretty busy with Disney and hotel guests. But I love sitting at the bar too. What they lack in flavor, they make up for in service and ambience. Upon entrance, Puesto is a beautifully modern eatery with high ceilings, beautiful table tops, robust chairs, and perfect lighting. The bar is situated in the front of the establishment and carefully curated with beautiful hardware. The menu is straight to the point-modern Mexican fare. We started with the esquite and passionfruit mango shrimp ceviche. The esquite was beautifully charred, and almost traditionally dressed but lacked seasoning. It was still enjoyable. The ceviche was delicious, fresh, flavorful and executed well. The quesabirria shortrib taco was the best bite, smoky, seasoned perfectly, tender, the meat wrapped in a blanket of cheese. Chefs kiss. The Baja fish taco on the other hand was horrendous and inedible, as soon as I picked it up it smelled fishy. I took a bite and could not chew or swallow. Very unfortunate. The beans were excellent, and while the rice wasn't horrible, it was a bit gummy. I wanted to love the pistachio tres leches but it seems like 2 different desserts with the pistachio elements and the passion fruit whipped cream. Their menu items are definitely on the elevated side and the pricing reflects it. With $20 surf and turf and lobster tacos, snagging these items at $10 is practically a steal. I ordered the lobster, mushroom, and crispy chicken. Each taco was so tasty, but my favorite was easily the mushroom. These perfectly grilled mushrooms are stacked on a crunchy cheese taco shell, creating the juiciest bite. Since this is an open concept, it's pretty loud and over stimulating. The atmosphere is lively and casual. Staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. We waited 5 minutes to be seated. Max introduced himself shortly after we were seated if we wanted chips, salsa, guacamole, water or any other beverages. That was a great start. The menu isn't complicated. Which made it easy to decide what to order. I had the shrimp bowl. It comes with grilled corn on the bottom and shrimp on top with a spicy mayo drizzle. On the right side of the bowl is white rice with cilantro on top and a salsa dressing. Of course guacamole is added because that's how we do it in SoCal. It tasted like I was eating an upscale version of elote. Which is typically sold in SoCal by local vendors pushing a cart through neighborhoods. It's corn on the cob with a stick through it and placed on a paper plate. Then they drizzle it with mayo, butter, sprinkled cheese, and dried chili powder. When I was a kid it sounded weird, but once I tried it I was a new fan of it! The salsa that comes with the chips is mild tasting. I tried their tasty green pistachio sauce. Which is spicier and another green salsa that is the spiciest, but not as tasty. I like spice so I add that to my bowl and was very satisfied. The steak bowl got devoured. They are a toquilla bar. They have several different types to offer. If you have a sweet tooth you might like the dirty soda. Immediately sat at our reservation time. Colin was our server. He gave us a great overview of the menu. Many options to pick from. He gave us some good suggestions. Food came out quickly. I visited Puesto for lunch while in Anaheim for a conference. The guacamole may be the best that I've ever had and the cucumber margarita was very fresh and tasty. I got three tacos, as recommended by the menu, and though they were small, they were very filling. The crispy melted cheese that they put on top is a unique touch and adds to the depth of flavor of their very fresh tacos. The service was super friendly and very helpful. They did a great job handling our large group. read more

Puesto Anaheim - Mushroom Taco, Veggie Taco, and Grilled Fish Taco - Mexican Near Me - Anaheim, California

I recently visited Puesto Anaheim, located adjacent to the Westin Anaheim, during a busy weekend at the convention center and it was definitely packed in the restaurant for Taco Tuesday. I know taco places are trying to be fancy, but I'm not a huge fan of the blue corn taco shells so I opted for a Shrimp Bowl instead which was light and delicious. The margaritas here are good overall, but the skinny margarita did not taste right to me. The balance of booze and lime juice felt off and I think they used some type of sugar free syrup for the sweetener, at least it tasted that way to me. It's pretty loud inside the restaurant, so if you're with a big party, you may have a hard time hearing the conversation all the way across the table. read more
