This cafe is in the Hoag Medical Complex. I came here on my way home from an appointment to get an iced matcha latte with no sweetener. The presentation of the matcha was nice - the matcha was layered on top of the milk, but unfortunately the result was that the flavors didn't blend that well together. The matcha flavor was also really subtle. The latte mostly tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. Pretty disappointing. If they could just add a slightly bigger scoop of matcha it would be perfect! They also have breakfast and lunch options, typical egg-based breakfasts and sandwich/salad for lunch. read more

W cafe has an all day breakfast and lunch menu. It is located in the Hoag medical office complex. At 8:15am, I was feeling angus beef burger and I ordered one... why not? It was ok. Beef Pattie was not seasoned and the veggies looked tired. I may have ordered the wrong item. Their hot sandwiches and breakfast items may have been a better choice. Super pleasant and warm reception as soon as you walk in the door. I got the pastrami sandwich on a toasted ciabatta bread with cheddar cheese and a side mixed green salad. OMG!!! This pastrami is perfect, just the way I like it, grilled!!! Really cozy spot to sit in or outside. Under the nice umbrellas to block the sun and if cold they have the outdoor heaters. Located in the Hoag complex, I've visited W Cafe twice: once while my husband was having quite a lengthy visit with a specialist and the second time after I was treated at urgent care. They serve both breakfast and lunch items and have ample indoor and outdoor seating. The first time I came, I had a breakfast combo and opted for a lunch sandwich today. What I appreciate is that all their food is made-to-order. Everything has always been fresh, and you are able to add/remove items on menu items, as needed. I think you are paying a little more than average for convenience, as my sandwich was $18.95. I don't drink soda, but they have fountain drinks available - and you can also request a water cup. I found this place through Yelp. Had good reviews thought to give it a try. Ordered Short Ribs Benedict with potatoes on the side. It was interesting because the meat wasn't shredded which I expected to be. Therefore, I just shredded it myself. Food was good. Everything on the menu looks appealing. Service was welcoming and enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. Kobe Bryant had visited their previous location in Newport Beach which I thought was cool to see a picture of him and the owner. Everything me and my mom ordered was amazing. She is going through chemotherapy and she rarely finishes her food but this day she finished all of it and enjoyed it all. The gentleman in the front took our order and gave us recommendations. Food was out pretty quick after that. They have a pretty big selection of items on their menu and all the ones we tried were yummy. (Breakfast platter, potato salad, and blackened chicken sandwich.) their mixed green side salad was slightly over priced but it's fine. Definitely will be back! read more

I had breakfast burritos. It is average and on salty side. It was salty might be because I ordered it with chorizo. However, $18 with tax is a little pricy for me and the taste is pretty average. I wish there is hash brown in the breakfast burrito to make it more interesting. If you are eating at the cafe, it might be more worthwhile for that price. Other than that, the place is clean and nice. It is an okay place. I am not sure if I will visit again. read more

Stopped in to grab a cold beverage while waiting across the street from Hoag Hospital. Couldn't help but write a quick review. The team behind the counter was overly personable, professional and polite. Interacted with both Amza and Sama. They treated every customer as if they were family. Even the chef came out from behind the counter when they were closing to bid me farewell as I was leaving. I believe it was the owner Wais Omar from the info on their Yelp page. Anyway, my ice blended mocha was superb and the service was out of this world. It's a small cafe with a pretty diverse menu. Both breakfast and lunch options available. Ice cream too! Went on a Saturday morning. We bought the Ribeye breakfast and the W combo. The chimmichuri for the steak is more like pico de gallo. Steak was OK just a little cold but we were outside and the steak is very thin so I don't want to hold it against them. The scrambled eggs are very wet/runny, which some people like. Overall for the price, I do not think it was worth it. They also only had 1 server/cashier and 1 cook on a Saturday morning. Luckily it wasn't too busy but I cant imagine if it was full how long the wait would be. read more

W Cafe is a true gem in Orange County. I've been coming here since they opened and have enjoyed many of their items. Their breakfast is beyond amazing and their Panini's are second to none. Their Basil Panini with fresh jalapeños is to live for! Great food, with great service in a beautiful clean setting is everything one can ask for and W Cafe delivers time and time over again! Great food in a clean environment, however I noted today that only the cook was masked. Other personnel interacting closely with customers (within 5 or 6" at one point) were not. This cafe is located in a medical complex with a cancer institute, urgent care, surgery center and such and should not be violating the mask mandate. Many patients are vulnerable, especially with the current transmissibility of Omicron and they seem not to be taking the risk seriously at W Cafe. I will not be back until the pandemic is over or they follow basic safety procedures for their customers and employees. read more

When you go in the vibe is very normal as another mom and pop cafe , but trust me the owners are really good. The father who is hailing directly (first generation from Afghanistan) and the son (second generation American) duo are amazing. This is the best example of a immigrant's American Dream story. They are very nice to talk, they are humble and polite. Their food is decent, their drinks are very nice and their service is phenomenal. We tried their caperse buffalo mozzarella sandwich and we were so happy as it was perfect with the ratio of the bread with the cheese. It was big enough to share. I ordered one of their specialities, the Sunrise Sandwich. The bread was great, but I think the overall flavor was lacking. Not enough salt and the sun dried roasted tomatoes were too sour for me. Food is so good and fresh!! My kids love it, we have become regulars especially on Saturday mornings. It's nice and quiet and not too busy though I sense we are lucky now because when people catch on to this place it's going to have a lineup!! Enjoy it while you can! Super convenient cafe if you need to get some tests done at the Hoag Center nearby. The basil chicken sandwich panini was quite good and nice and hot. The flavors are all really good! I only wish there was a little more of the sides (potato salad and green salad) for the price. read more

I was invited to an "AFGHAN NIGHT" party at the W Cafe here in Irvine Yesterday (Friday) evening...and it was a most delightful event including food, drink, dance and party that took me way into the morning hours! There was Afghan fine-dining with a traditional setup of their most popular and famous foods...the atmosphere was cordial and free-spirited as we found out there was "Live Afghan Dance and Song" so we ate, drank, danced and partied until 2:00am as if we were at an Afghan Dance or Wedding. I came here for breakfast with a friend shortly after I moved to back to OC. We shared a sunrise sandwich and the breakfast buritto - both dishes were over the top amazing! We each had lattes with an extra shot of espresso; they were really strong, but just what the doctor ordered to get our motors started; next time I don't think we'll need the extra shots, but the lattes tasted great with them :-) Bottom line: The food was exceptional and so was the service!
