The fried chicken at Furai Chicken was pretty good. We tried the Original and Garlic Soy, really flavorful. The Original was solid too, especially since we could pair it with different dipping sauces. Everything is made to order, but waiting around 20 minutes for fried chicken felt a little long. We also got the potato wedges and onion rings. We weren't told the wedges were already included with the whole chicken offer, and unfortunately the onion rings were pretty dry. The chicken itself were crispy, but no special flavoring. The croissant sando comes with thick slices of pickles which did not compliment too well with the chicken taste. The box set had a good variety of rice, salad, soup and a brownie but each item was also average in taste. The inside was small, limited seating but it doesn't get too busy as most people do take out. It's a self serve utensil station. Parking in this plaza can be limited too depending when you come. Staff were friendly and helpful! Only one making the food and taking orders on a busy Saturday lunch time so be prepared to wait. Rec 1: The med spicy cro-sand is the perfect balance of spice, crispiness, creaminess from the coleslaw, and acidity from the pickles. YUM! I love how crispy their chicken is! The batter reminds me of like the crispy flakey KFC-type (colonel sanders) batter. We tried their green onion garlic and kang jung wings which were both very flavorful. I really dislike cheap, nickel and dime places like this. I paid over $100 for 40 wings and selected four wing flavors. On top of that, I paid $3.50 for two extra sides of blue cheese. What I received were two half full ramekins of runny, warm blue cheese. When I called the restaurant to complain, I was told that blue cheese and ranch count as a wing sauce. So apparently when I ordered extra blue cheese, I was not getting extra at all. I was just ordering blue cheese as one of the sauces. Paying over $100 for 40 wings that come with no dipping sauce is ridiculous. To make it worse, the woman on the phone was rude and dismissive. Trying to get a straight answer from her was like pulling teeth. Good food but bad service. I ordered online at 5:00 a few days ago and the wait was around 60 min (because of the World Cup). Went in to pick it up and they insisted that I scheduled the order for 7:00 when it was listed as 6:00. I've been a fan of Furai chicken since their Zion days. I would get it to go since I wanted to be at the comfort of my own home. With that being said, naturally, I had to go to their new location to get chicken. I love their boneless chicken because I'm just wanting to eat the meat and the bones get in the way. I like it regular with side of garlic and green onion. Next time, I'll go back to their lemon garlic cause that tastes so damn good. The menu is straightforward but you might have difficulty choosing from the countless sauces they have. We shared a 1/2 chicken but opted to make it a combo. The mashed potato was tasty, I loved the mustard mixed in it. The chocolate cookie with sea salt was ok, I don't know if it's old already or if the texture is really more on the hard and chewy side. I've been a fan of of Furai Chicken for a while, having been a frequent visitor of their old location in Zion Market as well as their new standalone spot on Yale Ave...and it's never been a disappointment! Furai boasts some of the best, if not the best, Korean fried chicken in the area. I even once took a friend who visiting from New York, and she claimed it was better than any of the spots in NY she's had Korean fried chicken at. As other reviews have mentioned, the chicken here is super crispy on the outside, super tender on the inside, with sauces ranging from the classics to more unique, and the taste is absolutely delicious! My personal favorite is the chicken with the "kang jung" sauce, which has a bit of a kick to it (due to it being tossed with serrano chilis and chili flakes). If you prefer something milder, you can't go wrong with the classic "soy garlic" sauce. A heads up though, they can get pretty busy during peak dinner hours (it seems to be quite popular with take-out orders), so plan ahead and order on their website to avoid long wait times.
