Korean Fried Chicken! There was a different Korean Fried Chicken place here before that opened up their own shop and that place has really good chicken. It's called Furai chicken and it's much beter than BBQ chicken. I did want to try this place though as there's another spot we really like in here that does pork feet really well. The chicken here is spot on - very good. It's properly fried - nice and crunchy skin without being overly oily. Very tasty. The only thing I will do next time is see if they have no breast meat options. I am not really a fan of breast meat when it comes to fried chicken. So good - great competition for Furai - both are outstanding places. And you should go to either instead of the BBQ chicken chain as the chicken here is definitely better. read more

Ordered the Half & Half option, Bone in $ 32.99 What flavor we ordered ~ Garlic Soy flavor was really yummy. Tasted similar like the known fried chicken spot that offers the garlic soy flavor. ~ Garlic Spicy Mild tastes like the Garlic Soy but with the Mild spice level. Isn't mild at all. Looks red & spicy but don't let that scare you to order this flavor. It's a new Flavor. Chicken is good, tender, fried to perfection and nice size. It came w a good size pickled daikon given with our chicken. The associate gave us a receipt and mentioned it'll be 15 mins to pick up. So i decided to do some shopping. It seems most of the negative reviews were from opening day due to people over ordering and wait times, which I don't think is an accurate reflection of what this is like on a normal day. I've had their chicken a few times now and it is by far my favorite korean fried chicken place in the OC. I've frequented Furai, Chan Chan, BBQ Chicken, love letter, pelicana, but I would say this is the best of the bunch I've had the garlic soy, garlic spicy, curry, and the honey hot and prefer the garlic spicy. It actually does have a bit of a kick to it, and I usually handle spice very well. The reason why I enjoy this place is because the chicken is hot and fresh with a lot of meat. It's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The flavor profile is fantastic, and like I said, packs a punch. The pickled radish is also large chunks and very well done. Lots of other places give either small pieces of chicken where there's barely any meat, too much batter, or tiny bits of pickled radish. Price is comparable to other korean fried chicken restaurants. I've never dealt with a line at lunch time (~11-12pm) and my wait time is usually 10-15 minutes from time of order to getting my food food. Best eaten right away to maintain that crispiness, which is their only downside since it's inside a zion grocery store. read more

Finally made it here! Every time we came to Zion Market we only walked past, but today my son really wanted to try it, so we finally did! We ordered the Red Hot Snow Onion since we love spicy food, and it was the perfect level of heat for us. If you can't handle spicy food, it might be pretty hot for you. The chicken was crispy and delicious, and the sauce was sweet with just the right amount of spice--so good! They have several different flavors, and next time we're planning to try the Padak Chicken. CM Chicken is located inside the Zion Market. It's just counter service store where you take everything to go, or sit on one of those tables in the food court area. They sell Korean Style Chicken, from wings, half chicken and full chicken. I personally prefer with bone because I think it tastes better than boneless. The Garlic Soy sounded great so I went for a half chicken with bone. It comes with some pickled radish which always goes great with fried chicken. This is my 4th time trying CM Chicken, and every time I've had it, I've had delicious, crispy chicken that's not greasy at all. I especially love Fired original boneless chicken with the #5 red hot pepper sauce, which is a spicy sauce very similar to Buldak sauce. The dice-shaped radish (they give generous pint size) is delicious because it is not too salty or too sweet like other places. Angelica is so sweet and kind every my visit, I really thought she is the owner. Chef Silvano is also friendly, he waves hand and wear his mask when he frying foods. The staff here are so kind to the guests, and the owner is truly lucky to be working with them. It's located inside Zion Market, so it's easy to pick up chicken after grocery shopping, and if you call in advance, the food will already be ready by the time you arrive. This is the 4th chicken spot that's been here. Furai chicken, Pink chicken, Two Dak, now CM chicken. CM chicken is a chain with other locations in La Habra and Gardena. They have famous for their snow chicken which is their original fried chicken + onions & special white sauce drizzled on the chicken/onions. The chicken itself has a bit of a kick to it (there's no chicken that doesn't). The white sauce has hints of apple and it does make the spice more bearable if you don't like spice. This is in the food court section and it can get busy. I ordered when there was no other orders and it took about 15m for them to have it ready. Definitely better than some of the previous stores. I've been disappointed with the closest pelicana and bbq, because it'd either smell weird or be way too dry. I think CM will be my new go-to for korean chicken. I ordered for pick up, and the food was promptly ready when I got there. I got the original fried chicken. The worker was very kind friendly! He gave me extra items, so I got to try the onion sauce and it was really good. Flavorful but not overpowering. Made me want to try out other flavors. Give this place a try!!! So Lets break it down. Today was the Grand Opening of CM Chicken. Im not sure if they had a soft opening ahead of today but I was at Zion over the weekend and the place was not open yet. Today was the first day of the GO and they are doing a 50% sale until Sunday. For those who shop at Zion, this is now the 3rd chicken place at this location, it was previously Furai, then Two Dak. I came around 4:45 pm and there was sign saying that they were not taking any more orders until 5 pm, because apparently they had already sold out and needed to get more chicken. From where, im not sure. They were still pushing out orders but just not taking any new orders. I was the second person in line so i was thinking that once I ordered it would be pretty quick. One thing i have to say is that they didn't manage the promotion very well as they were allowing people to order as much as they wanted. Well unfortunately the lady ahead of me ordered like a total of $200 worth of chicken (after the 50% discount) which drastically impacted their ability to push out additional orders. So by satisfying one customer, they then had 10 other angry customers which defeats the purpose of the promotion. The idea is to get people to try the food in order to build up your customer base. In total it took over an hr to get my food which was just a single order of the half and half. While i was waiting for my food, the owner told people in line that they had to stop taking orders because the wait time from ordering had grown to over 1.5 hrs. I know its the grand opening but obviously there could have been a better execution plan. So lets get to the food. Like many other chicken places a typical order comes with pickled radish. The place seems to make their own rather than use prepackaged radish that you find at say Pelicana. I prefer the homemade version as the radish seems to typically have a better crisp to it. Overall i found the size given was adequate. They actually gave me an extra tub as a means of compensating for the long wait time as they told me initially my order was only going to take 30 mins. For the chicken i got the garlic soy and the hot honey. The garlic soy seemed to be one of the more popular choices while the hot honey seemed to be new. I found the sauces to be very good, not to overly sweet and the hot honey had a good kick to it but not to overpowering. The chicken came out juicy, fully cooked, and well seasoned. You can tell that the chicken was in a brine solution before as the meat had good flavor. Often times at other chicken locations, places cut corners on the brining and leave it up to the sauces for flavor which tends to leave the chicken bland and dry. I also thought that the overall breading was nice and not too light or too heavy so the chicken was still crispy and could hold the sauce. Overall it was a well cooked piece of chicken. Kudos to the fact that even though they were busy, they didnt cut corners on the cooking process. So now the big question, is CM Chicken better than Pelicana? I think its too early to tell. Right now im thinking its Pelicana but i think my judgement maybe a little swayed due to the overall poor experience during the grand opening. I think once CM works out some of the kinks im gonna have to do another comparison and do a side by side while factoring price into the equation. I will be honest with everyone, when i did a comparison between Pelicana and Two Dak, my wife and i both agreed we liked Two Dak. read more

Came here recently because we wanted some KFC and saw that this was a new spot that took over a previous shop we liked (twodaktwodak). Was only able to try the spicy garlic so not entirely sure on the rest of the flavors however the service we got was really good! Reserving 5 stars for next time once we get to try more flavors however the service on its own I would give it a 5. Now as for KFC some spots really know how to maintain the crisp even when things are sauced up. Not everybody can do it so I understand. I tend to order things in their original crispy and then sauce on the side so I can help maintain its texture. I would recommend that same approach here if you're a texture person also it's easier to reheat the following day. Nonetheless it was pretty crispy even after 20 mins since we got it togo and the flavor was pretty good. I would absolutely come back to try some of their other stuff as I am interested to see how the other flavors are now. The prices and portions are fair for a Korean fried chicken spot (personally I think the value is slighter better than some other spots atm, maybe cause they're new) It's nice that it's inside a Zion market as well so you can do some grocery shopping while waiting for your food read more

Not sure what chicken is used (Jidori, foster farms, etc.) thought. The amount of meat is slightly smaller than other KFC spots. Friendly customer service given their grand opening. My recommendation to the business owners is to communicate a better wait time upon ordering. My order was placed at 2:30pm but not ready until 4:05pm. This is my new choice for KFC - Korean fried chicken lately, especially for original fried chicken (with no sauce) and chicken with onion or green onion. Pa dak - green onion chicken - has sauce options, and the lemon sauce has a kick of wasabi, which I loved. The store is very generous with toppings, sauce, and the sweet radish especially. They take orders over phone, so you can pick it up when ready, which usually has taken 15-20 minutes for a half or one whole chicken order. It is located inside Zion Market, and, although the market calls it a food court, it only has a few tables and not much space. I would recommend ordering a. to-go and enjoy with beer at home unless you are grabbing a quick meal. read more

For those complaining about unlimited on promo, they restricted it to 2 items per order today. The batter was kinda light for me compared to other kfc places. This caused the chicken to get soggy when sauced. Spicy garlic wasn't very spicy or garlicky. It should be skipped. Soy garlic was actually pretty tasty except it was sweeter than others and the batter got soggy. One big concern is if you look in the back there's basically a hotel pan on the floor with bagged chicken in plastic bags piled up. I'd imagine this should normally be in a fridge for health and safety reasons? Getting docked for an obvious food handling violation. read more

Tried CM chicken a few times as we would buy weekly from the prior tenant, Two Dak. The prior chicken place had amazing chicken & despite having a sauce, the chicken was still crispy. Not here. Great news, a new CM Chicken has opened! We can never have enough of korean fried chicken, and I can confidently say this is one of the best! Everything here is great, but I personally love the garlic soy and garlic spicy flavors. They both have a good amount of spice and the chicken is always crispy and flavorful.
