Love this place for it's consistency and overall great vibes. It's cool to be able to order so many different levels of spice depending on how adventurous or dumb I want to be. Chicken is always good whether a tender or in sandwich form. Size is still decent too even though they've been recently bought out. Usually they tighten the screws and prices go crazy (it did go up) and size of food goes down, however, it's fair which is not always the case. On my recent trip I heard their new mozzarella sticks won't be back for another month. Major popeyes chicken sandwich situation it feels like. Lastly love this place for staying open until midnight too. Just in case. read more

My nephew really likes this place so we come whenever he wants Dave's Hot Chicken. They make it fresh it seems when you order so you do have to wait a little bit or order on the app. I just wish they had some deals or something. At least every time I look there is nothing. Good flavor. read more

During my visit for a quick weeknight dinner, only the service and the mac and cheese were good. I think the gentleman's name was Mason, but he was knowledgeable and patient during my order. The fried chicken left much to be desired...I got the lowest level of spice (mild), but it shouldn't be bland or sweet, right? Has the seasoning and breading always tasted like it has more sugary than savory ingredients in it? Also, my fried chicken didn't taste fresh and did look a little off-putting, with scattered dark patterns and strange textures. Even if it happened to be overcooked, or they used some random leftover pieces or something, it just wasn't for me. Portions were also disappointingly small. Mac and cheese was tasty, though. The cup was small, but I enjoyed the creamy and savory cheesiness. Interior was blasting loud music. It's fine if you're vibing by yourself, but it's hard to hold conversations with someone in that shop. Inside tables weren't super dirty, but I still had to wipe the surface with a napkin before being comfortable enough to sit down with my food. Parking in the lot of Larwin Square is usually not too bad even during peak hours at the plaza. It's probably safer to park further away from the Dave's Hot Chicken corner to avoid the influx of cars from the Bryan Ave/Newport Ave intersection. read more

Although last nights order didn't hit and smack like Dave's usually does, I have to give them credit for being one of the best accessible hot chicken / fried chicken spots in the game!!! I'm glad this location is close to my new apartment so I don't have to drive all the way to Bristol in Stabba Ana all the time. Also, the hours here are clutch, some are 1am some are 3 am. I can't wait to some day try reaper although I know it'll destroy my intestines. Cheers! Haha read more

I got the Dave's hot chicken #4 medium spice. This was good. I should've gotten the hot option instead medium wasn't even slightly spicy. The fries are ok, not great. The sandwich which I got with coleslaw and pickles was super good. Next time I'll get the hot option. The service was good fast. I went during lunch rush but it wasn't too busy when I ordered. Just started to get busy as I was eating my meal. Clean. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - Dave's #4: 1 Slider with Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Tustin, California

On sep 21st 2026, i came to order the new mac loaded slider and some mozzarella sticks, and the cashier named Valerie had an awful attitude

Tustin just gained a new spice level in its personality. Dave's Hot Chicken didn't just open a restaurant -- it opened a temperature setting for the city. The first bite lets you know immediately this isn't fast food chicken... this is "pause the conversation and look at the sandwich" chicken. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and the heat actually has flavor instead of just trying to win a toughness contest. You can feel the seasoning working in layers instead of a single blast of fire. And the fries? Somehow they understood the assignment perfectly. Golden, crunchy, and seasoned enough that you keep saying "one more" until the basket is mysteriously empty. They're not a side -- they're a co-star. The place already feels like a neighborhood spot where friends meet after a long day, late nights turn into food runs, and first-timers accidentally order hotter than they planned and learn a life lesson. Good food does that -- it becomes part of the local rhythm. Tustin didn't just get another chain. It got a reliable craving. Doesn't live up to Popeyes as yet because of Popeyes sides are amazing, so they have the entire package. But I would definitely come back when I am in the mood for some "Hot" Chicken. read more

Loser, loser chicken dinner. Man... so disappointed. Big fan of Dave's but it was disappointing to see a bunch of precooked tenders sitting in the back when we walked in. Get home and these things are wafer-thin flimsy and dry. This is how the Irvine one used to be until they improved. Last time here after this experience. Zero juice or plump in those. read more

I've lived in Nashville so I know my hot Chicken. This is sub par at best. Tenders were almost "wet" and soggy, no crunch whatsoever. It was also borderline flavorless and this "Daves Sauce" was as if they put food dye in mayo. Sorry folks...this is not "hot chicken" as one might expect. read more

Solid choice for hot chicken and tenders. I ordered the #1 medium spice and like that you order a different spice level for each tender. Had a side of Cole slaw which mellowed out the heat (medium is hot enough for me). Also ordered the #4 and the slider was delish ! I'm more of a whole fried chicken fan but when craving a quick hot chicken fix, Dave's hits the spot. read more

Just the three of us--two adults and a spice-loving teen--checked out Dave's Hot Chicken, and it quickly became a favorite. I went with "hot," the teen tried "medium," and both were perfectly spicy without going overboard. Crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides (mac & cheese and fries) were on point, and the halal chicken made ordering easy. We also loved the cauliflower tenders--surprisingly good! We've done dine-in and pickup, and the food always arrives fresh and tasty. Simple, delicious, and family-approved. read more

Amazing chicken! And a good amount of spice The interior is very vibrant and eye catching and the the staff is quite friendly

Great service, staff is super friendly and the food is always fresh at this location! I keep coming back because of the awesome vibe

I went to go try out the new Dave's big trio and it was amazing. Even though it took a while for me to get my food, a worker there noticed since the store was kind of empty. He offered me any size drink or slushy and I gladly accepted. It made up for the time I had to spend there and it was very there clean too. read more

Tasty, the chicken sometimes can be too salty in my opinion. It's a good option for halal food, that you want to eat fast.

Located on the corner of a semi busy shopping center with plenty of parking. The gal taking our order was very nice and the food came out quickly. Dave's chicken is juicy, hot and flavorful. In my opinion a solid 6/10 although it tastes good it's still missing something for me. Perhaps might taste better if they offered ranch or other condiments. read more

First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and I am impressed. They have fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and fries. New to their menu is fried cauliflower which you can get as a sandwich or as bites. They have 7 heat levels from no spice to reaper. We got the two sliders with fries combo and a side of the cauliflower bites and it was perfect for two people to share. We got mild which was perfect my partner who can't handle much heat. Fried chicken was tender but a little salty for my taste. Would have been nice to have a little more slaw in the sandwich to balance it out. This location has indoor and outdoor seating and is smaller compared to other locations (according to our friends). Overall very clean and cashier was friendly. I would go again. read more

Before I start this review I must disclaim to you that I am a fried chicken connoisseur as such I've had my fair share of fried chicken. Today was one of the days my fried chicken craving was in full force and I decided to go to Dave's. I have been going here ever since they had their first location in LA so I am a huge fan of this place. Ordering is nice and easy given that the menu isn't too expansive, I usually just go with the tenders cause for me that is the star of the show. One thing I appreciate here is the customizable spice levels definitely a plus for those spice lovers out there. The order came out pretty fast and more importantly fresh. I've found other Dave's locations to be inconsistent in their seasoning, flavors, and spice so it can sometimes be a roll of a dice however, this location specifically has always been consistently in delivering an exceptional tender. The breading to meat ratio is perfect, the spice that I got (extra hot) was perfect and evenly spread something that cannot be said for other locations, and the crispiness is excellent. I try to figure out a way how this tender can be better but for my personally I cannot. Another small detail about Dave's locations is that they have unique artwork in each location and might take inspiration based on the location it is in, which is a cool fun fact. Overall Dave's is my favorite fried chicken. Some stores can be inconsistent in the way they make their friend chicken but this one is definitely one of the better ones and deserves a visit! read more

I've been to about 5 different Dave's Hot Chicken locations and I found this one to be the best one. Sunday lunch a few people in line but the food comes out pretty quick. Store was clean. Dare I say it?! But Dave's Hot chicken makes some AMAZING and fresh Chicken! If you can handle spice you can easily get the HOT version. If you're not a spicy person please stick to medium or lower. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly! Not soggy, nice and crispy and the breading stuck perfectly to the chicken. For the price I'm on the fence. The meal is very satisfying however for the cost it seems a bit expensive compared to other chicken fast food joints. But all in all, If you're willing to fork over some extra cash for chicken and you like freshness you'll come here. read more

Yes I know, ANOTHER one of these chicken places popping up like wildfire or pesky weeds however you want to look at it. Although oops, now that I'm thinking about this during the light of day, both these analogies are negative, especially in So. Cal, but you get what I mean. I saw that it was the grand opening and saw photos of rubber chicken key chains posted on yelp so we wanted to get in on that. Of course, when I finally got in, they were all out, booo. We normally don't eat at these places too often because 1. we are so sick of these places and 2. It's all deep fried and unhealthy. However, we were in the area and saw a good sized crowd and decided to give it a try. To-go -Dave's #2 $13: 2 sliders 1 Extra hot and 1 Medium Price wise, it's a good deal! There are 2 sliders but the chicken size was big and generous making one meal shareable for 2. My medium wasn't spicy for me, so I could've gone up to Hot. The Extra hot was really hot! So next time I know the spicy level. At first bite I didn't feel the heat, but it definitely builds with each bite. Lover wants Reaper next time, neither of these were hot enough for him. I love how the exterior of this chicken, it was unlike any other spicy chicken sandwiches I've had. The exterior wasn't a typical heavy batter but more like it was lightly coated with corn starch maybe? The batter is light and crisp, I love it! Even the white meat chicken was juicy and I hate white meat! My only complaint is the batter is salty, but again, we eat light on the salt so I think it's perfect for the average person. I don't say this often with these spicy chicken sandwich places but I would say it for this place. Although, I'm not sure how much weight that carries because I don't normally eat at any other chicken sandwich places. The price, the batter light and crisp, and the chicken juicy! My 3 criteria for chicken sandwiches. read more
