Love this place for it's consistency and overall great vibes. It's cool to be able to order so many different levels of spice depending on how adventurous or dumb I want to be. Chicken is always good whether a tender or in sandwich form. Size is still decent too even though they've been recently bought out. Usually they tighten the screws and prices go crazy (it did go up) and size of food goes down, however, it's fair which is not always the case. During my visit for a quick weeknight dinner, only the service and the mac and cheese were good. I think the gentleman's name was Mason, but he was knowledgeable and patient during my order. The fried chicken left much to be desired...I got the lowest level of spice (mild), but it shouldn't be bland or sweet, right? Has the seasoning and breading always tasted like it has more sugary than savory ingredients in it? Also, my fried chicken didn't taste fresh and did look a little off-putting, with scattered dark patterns and strange textures. Even if it happened to be overcooked, or they used some random leftover pieces or something, it just wasn't for me. Portions were also disappointingly small. Mac and cheese was tasty, though. The cup was small, but I enjoyed the creamy and savory cheesiness. Interior was blasting loud music. It's fine if you're vibing by yourself, but it's hard to hold conversations with someone in that shop. Inside tables weren't super dirty, but I still had to wipe the surface with a napkin before being comfortable enough to sit down with my food. Parking in the lot of Larwin Square is usually not too bad even during peak hours at the plaza. I got the Dave's hot chicken #4 medium spice. This was good. I should've gotten the hot option instead medium wasn't even slightly spicy. The fries are ok, not great. New to their menu is fried cauliflower which you can get as a sandwich or as bites. They have 7 heat levels from no spice to reaper. We got the two sliders with fries combo and a side of the cauliflower bites and it was perfect for two people to share. We got mild which was perfect my partner who can't handle much heat. Fried chicken was tender but a little salty for my taste. Would have been nice to have a little more slaw in the sandwich to balance it out. This location has indoor and outdoor seating and is smaller compared to other locations (according to our friends). Overall very clean and cashier was friendly. I would go again. read more

Before I start this review I must disclaim to you that I am a fried chicken connoisseur as such I've had my fair share of fried chicken. Today was one of the days my fried chicken craving was in full force and I decided to go to Dave's. I have been going here ever since they had their first location in LA so I am a huge fan of this place. Ordering is nice and easy given that the menu isn't too expansive, I usually just go with the tenders cause for me that is the star of the show. One thing I appreciate here is the customizable spice levels definitely a plus for those spice lovers out there. The order came out pretty fast and more importantly fresh. I've found other Dave's locations to be inconsistent in their seasoning, flavors, and spice so it can sometimes be a roll of a dice however, this location specifically has always been consistently in delivering an exceptional tender. The breading to meat ratio is perfect, the spice that I got (extra hot) was perfect and evenly spread something that cannot be said for other locations, and the crispiness is excellent. I try to figure out a way how this tender can be better but for my personally I cannot. Another small detail about Dave's locations is that they have unique artwork in each location and might take inspiration based on the location it is in, which is a cool fun fact. Overall Dave's is my favorite fried chicken. Some stores can be inconsistent in the way they make their friend chicken but this one is definitely one of the better ones and deserves a visit! read more

The meal is very satisfying however for the cost it seems a bit expensive compared to other chicken fast food joints.
