Had breakfast at this location today. I was pleasantly surprised by the specials menu. It had several breakfasts from $5.99 to $9.99 with eggs, bacon, toast and depending on which price point you can get French toast or pancakes, hash browns. Very nice! Food came out a tad slow but was good. Service could have been more attentive for sure but it wasn't bad. The restaurant itself was very clean and organized. Comfortable seating and table or booths. Truly, choose elsewhere. Place has nostalgic decor. It's clean. That said, the Lead or counter man who rang me up looked annoyed and completely put out that I approached counter to acquire forgotten mayonnaise; in attempt to eat burger while still warm. I'd gone to counter since poor server was a party of one in a full dining room; doing his very best. Horrible vibe for the working class. The burger was so greasy the pool of gelatinous liquid was disturbing and rendered it inedible. I thought I had subbed fries for fruit but was charged $1.99 for the weirdest fruit side ever. We dined in today. Food was fast, good and same as when we normally order it online to go. We like this Dennys location off El Camino much better than the Irvine one. Its nicer inside. Would be nice to have some light background music as a buffer so its not to awkward when super silent when slow and hardly anyone is inside. Stayed at a hotel nearby and was given a 20% off coupon for this nearby Denny's, but upon coming here was notified that the coupon did not apply to anything on their Value Menu despite the coupon not stating so. We planned to order 2 items, but had to change our order upon hearing so. Definitely very misleading and a shady, deceitful way to bring customers in. Also, our waiter, Jazmine, was very territorial and did not appreciate us moving seats because we did not like the one she initially sat us in. And when we brought up that another waiter already asked us what we wanted to drink, she said in a snarky tone, "uh im your server." It really doesn't matter! Finally, upon finding out our coupon didn't work on value menu items, we hesitantly ordered 1 regular menu instead, a grand slam. What we got was the saddest looking breakfast I've seen in a long while. The food was cold, the sausage and bacon was miniscule, and the hash browns tasted not fully cooked through. The grand slam turned out to be significantly less food than what it was worth, even with the hotel 20% off coupon. When we were checking out, we asked the server if they needed the coupon to apply the discount and she said that she would adjust it for us but when she handed us the receipt, no adjustments were made. I feel that the server intentionally did not apply the discount in hopes that we would just pay without double-checking. That is unacceptable and downright shady behavior. Overall, a pretty miserable experience. We left still hungry and frustrated. (P.S - We later found out from hotel staff that the coupons were distributed by the Denny's itself. So it seems it was an intentional gesture to leave out exclusions or fine-print on the coupon to trick customers into coming to this location. To the owner of this establishment: you guys need to do much better.) Edit: A couple hours after this meal and posting this review, both my partner and I both had upset stomachs and I shouldn't be surprised considering how the food came out seemingly not cooked all the way through. read more

I especially appreciate how helpful and positive she is around people. Her energy really brings joy to this Denny's. We love how clean this place is; she cleans so well and makes everything feel so welcome. We really love how she welcomes people in the restaurant with such kind and happy joy in her heart. This was the worst Dennys experience I have had, and my friends and I always go to Dennys when we're together. We entered the diner at 11:15 and were sat within 5 minutes. We ordered two waters, an orange juice, and a hot chocolate, which did not arrive until 12:02pm. Almost a full hour later after arriving. Our waitress, Judith, barely spoke to us and did not look like she was having a good time or was happy with us being there in her section. The food was okay, just normal Dennys food, with the exception of my plate of country fried steak and eggs having straight up water on the plate. Totally turned my stomach every which way, but we were hungry so we stayed. The nail in the coffin was the ceiling leaking and dripping in multiple spots while we were dining! She took EXCELLENT care of us. Her name is Lam T. My brother ordered coffee and she brought him a small pot. She was so friendly and patient! No rush to order. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious! Plentiful! Lam checked on us often, making sure we had everything we needed. She was busy with other customers, but always coming by with a smile and friendly conversation. She brought my brother coffee to-go. Lam really made the close of a long day quite special! The servers, food staff were great! Unfortunately I witnessed this man, who i believe to be the manager Scott, was being extremely rude to ALL staff. He was talking down to the lady cleaning tables, he repeatedly told her "Do you not understand?!" After things were not to his standard. He then continued to speak down to a server saying "Do you want me to call .. ?" multiple times. All the staff appeared to be on high alert and uncomfortable. Do not go to this Denny's restaurant and particularly do not bring children here. I went for breakfast and the manage Scott yelled at his staff and on the telephone for over 30 minutes. The worst part was that he used four letter words and the f____ word consistently. Apparently he believes he is more important than his customers. I have experienced Scott's anger and abusive character several times before. He should be terminated. This is one of the worst Denny's in the chain. read more
