Braised Short Rib Lumache
Eleanor C.

I came here for my birthday lunch, and was so excited by all the amazing selections! We ordered the lumache pasta, salmon entree, mussels, truffle bread, and got a free Nutella cake dessert after for my birthday! The lumache is creamy and decadent, while the truffle bread paired perfectly with the pasta. The mussels were good, I just wish there was a little less herbs in it as it took away from the freshness of the seafood. Dessert was the perfect piece on top! We had amazing service and she always made sure we had everything we needed. Ate while watching the FIFA World Cup game, so the environment was nice and buzzing with excitement. I would highly recommend to come for your birthday.

Lunch portion roasted salmon with pesto cous cous

Had a quick lunch here with a client, waited about 5 mins for a table at 12:30pm on a Thursday. Hosts were very friendly and the waiter came immediately to take our drink order. They are doing this summer menu during lunch where you get a choice of appetizer + entree for $25. I got the charcuterie plate which is big enough for two people, and the roasted salmon with pesto and cous cous. All was very flavorful and the kitchen was on top of it. It was packed inside but still felt space between the tables, and noise level wasn't too crazy loud either. Definitely a business casual place.

Yep it's Red Sangria time

Hubby and I were visiting California and in the Irvine area, so we decided to stop by North Italia, a place we hadn't been to in a while. We were seated quickly at the bustling bar, and after settling in, our server, Angela M, (septum ring in her nose) brought us menus. Within 10 minutes, she asked if we wanted something to drink. My husband ordered a pitcher of red sangria, and I took a sip. Suddenly, I was done looking at the menu and ready to order. We were seated in limbo for 35 minutes, waiting for Angela M to return with water and ask us what we wanted to eat. It was frustrating because she was serving everyone else, talking to the customers next to us, and not once did she offer us water or ask about our order. I wondered if it was a racial issue or if she was simply a poor server. I was watching her serve everyone else except for us, which was quite interesting. I could have made a big deal, called the manager, and had a complete meltdown because of the terrible service. But I didn't. We just sat there and waited until the bartender turned to us and asked if anyone had served us yet. My husband had to answer him because I was so upset. We finally ordered our food, but my appetite had completely vanished. My husband placed the credit charge in the glass so we could pay. Would you believe that Angela M came out of nowhere and asked us how the meal was? She proceeded to process our bill. The only thing I could do was swallow hard and sign my credit card slip. On the tip line, I wrote a zero. We explained to the bartender that this wasn't a reflection of his service but of Angela M's. He completely understood. I hope North Italia takes this as a lesson learned and trains certain staff members again or has a brief conversation with Angela M about what customer service means. Great service can make all the difference between a 0 tip and a 25% tip. Hopefully, this incident will never happen again to another person again.

Great place to host a celebration with a modern sleek interior. We were quickly sat on the patio Monday afternoon. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the various dishes and provided good variety of recommendations. The table started with a white truffle garlic bread dish and it was delicious!! This summer they are offering a summer selection menu of a small plate and entree for $25. I opted for the arancini and roasted salmon (extra $5). Everything was very yummy and I would order it again. The arancini had good depth of cheese. The one thing that was slightly annoying was the arancini would not hold shape when dipped in the sauce on the side.

Finally had dinner at North Italia after driving by it for years. We came for dinner on a weekend with reservations. If you're familiar with this shopping center then you already know parking is horrible so we chose to valet. The sign says cash only but they take credit cards. The menu has a lot to offer and I was happy to see they have mocktails. For apps we got the house made focaccia and calamari. The calamari had a unique breading that I didn't care for but the rest of my group loved it. Next time I'll go straight for the focaccia. The bread was fresh from the oven and the whipped ricotta was incredible! Because I'm a sucker for pasta I got the bolognese, which was tasty but very rich. Overall it was good food and attentive service even on a busy evening. It makes for a nice date night spot.

I've been wanting to try this place for years but it was always booked the day of, but I was able to snag a reservation for Father's Day dinner. Take time for parking unless you want to pay for valet. I thought this place would be bigger considering it looks big from the outside, but the interior looked beautiful. White Truffle Garlic Bread (5/5): This is a must get to share with your party. The garlic is empowering and the truffle is so packed with flavor. The breast was fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Calamari (5/5): Very big pieces and comes with marinara and spicy mayo sauce. Definitely solid. Yellow tail Crudo (4/5): this raw fish looked a bit disorganized but it was still good. The flavor wasn't as strong, but it satisfied my sushi cravings. Funghi Pizza (5/5); This pizza blew me away. The mushroom flavor was potent and the crust was so fluffy. One of the best pizzas I've had. Cacio e Pepe (5/5): Super cheesy and the pepper flavor was strong. I enjoyed how fluffy the crust was. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka (5/5): Not too flavorful but it was good. Flavor was still impeccable Bolognese (2/5): For a special dish, this actually terrible. The pasta was undercooked as it was still hard eating it. This was one of the dishes that I would ask for a refund for Squid ink tonnarelli (5/5); This was amazing and the best pasta dish of the night. The pasta was cooked perfectly was it was both bouncy and chewy. The squid and shrimp were great with the sauce. This place is good, but pricey and small portion. I'd probably only come here for a special occasion

North Italia is one of my favorite chains. Everything on their menu is delicious and I always want to order 2-3 of everything. My favorites: - Zucca Chips - White Truffle Garlic Bread - Calamari Fritti - Bolognese - Squid Ink Tonnarelli I'm always too full to get dessert but I'm pretty sure I would love them too.

Seasonal Vegetable Salad w: salmon

So I was excited to come here because I saw they had a lunch special deal. However, they failed to tell you that it expired on May 31 very disappointed. The restaurant also says it opens at 11 AM. We got there at 11:07, and they were still not ready for all the guests. We ended up waiting outside for another 5 to 10 minutes before we were even seated. Service was decent. However our Stromboli came out before our steak salad. Thought that was very odd, since a salad is pretty much just the raw vegetables. My friend did ask for her steak well done, however, it came out tough as can be, and it was also burnt. But since that came out last, we didn't want to send it back. The vegetables itself was fresh and crispy though. Stromboli was good. I also said we were celebrating my friend's birthday. They didn't offer us anything free for her birthday, and they didn't even mention it. I don't know why the reservation asks if we are celebrating anything, if it doesn't matter. Overall it's ok.

Wonderful Italian restaurant with incredible food and vibes. The parking lot nearby the restaurant is valet only, but in the overall plaza there is plenty of free parking. The food is fantastic, both the pizza and pasta were cooked to perfection and very delicious. They have a large indoor dining area as well as a large bar are outdoor patio area for watching sports. It gets quite busy so best to book a reservation ahead of time. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Service and ambience are amazing Food is scrumptious especially the grilled bread with great aromatic of cheese and olive oil, great combination The squid ink is very intense but delicious. The steak was grilled to perfection and tender Dishes are on a smaller portion but enough to share Definitely will go back

Great spot for quality Italian food. We came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The food and ambiance were amazing. Service was also very friendly. We ordered the white truffle garlic bread, which was so flavorful and paired well with the ricotta. For pizza, we got the Margherita and Hot Nashville Chicken. All were really good. The crust was thin and crispy. All the pastas were also amazing. We ordered the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, Trottole Chicken Pesto, and Fettuccine Alfredo. The sauces were creamy, and the pasta tasted fresh and high quality. The only downside was that it was definitely on the pricier side, and the portions weren't very large, especially since we were dining with a bigger group. But for an upscale experience, it's a great spot.

The Irvine North Italia is by far the best location!!!! It's just a classic. I will never get over the White Truffle Bread Appetizer, it is seriously delicious & is served hot & perfect in a skillet. The Yellowtail crisp is a delicious appetizer option too!!!! So many flavors are put on one plate & rly compliment one another. They put lime, pistachios, & pineapple with the fish & it's soooo yum. OFCCCC U HAVE TO GET THE SPICY RIGATONI VIDKA PASTA. Like it's just that freaking good make sure at least one person in your party orders it. I always replace the sausage with meatballs though. For dessert we grabbed some dirty almond chai coffees that were soooo good & give u a nice kick of caffeine. We also got the banana caramel butter cake that was too insane. So warm with crispy edges & paired with a vanilla bean ice cream.

Parmesean chicken sandwich

We decided to come here for lunch totally unplanned. I've been here several times, but it was more than four years since I dined there. I expected it to be crowded as usual and that parking would be insane. Fortunately, and surprisingly, there was plenty of parking. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a hostess. When I observed the dining area of the restaurant, it was approximately thirty percent full. The bar contained about the same amount of occupants. We waited two minutes and the hostess took us to our table. Once we were seated, our server immediately came to our table to greet us and take our beverage order. When she came back with our waters, we both ordered the parmesean chicken sandwich. Our orders arrived and I realized I made a huge mistake as I didn't read what was included in the sandwich. I don't eat pork and prosciutto is included. I apologized to our server and told her about my error. She said it would not be an issue at all to make me a new sandwich without the prosciutto. Once my sandwich arrived, I dove in, and it was good! I wish the chicken was a little meatier and juicy, though. I also didn't really taste too much of the mozzarella and provolone. I love that melted cheese you get with the bite, but it sort of was lacking. The sauces were prevalent and tasty. It wasn't the best I've had, but still good, nonetheless. I had a side of salad and it was just a regular mixed green salad. The service was fantastic! Our server was extremely attentive and friendly. I didn't catch her name, but she had her long, blondish-brown hair in a ponytail braid. I love the ambiance with how open, bright, and airy it feels. Here's the breakdown: Food - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 I would definitely recommend this place for drinks and appetizers with a really nice ambiance and great service!

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Faster than our drink orders. -the campfire guacamole -BBQ shoestring fries (had bbq seasoning all over them so it tasted like a BBQ potato chip) -Glamping plate (charcuterie board) -steak tacos (one without onion and cilantro -churro affogato Again, the food was VERY fast!! And to be honest it wasn't that bad. I'll say, speakeasy's usually shine in the drink department vs food. Drinks -Lycheed and Loaded Ketel One, lychee liqueur, lemon, elderflower. This was extremely delicious! If you don't like to taste your alcohol? Go with this. It was really refreshing. Hand this to me at a spa and I'd be the happiest gal in the world -Camp Anawanna $17 Graham cracker-infused bourbon, licor 43, chocolate, torched marshmallow (the waitress catches the marshmallow on fire at the table) This one was stronger and I didn't think it was overly sweet despite the ingredients I think they had a good selection, especially for a small speakeasy. When you go thru the sliding doors it immediately transports you to a different time and place. Its very dark. Sleek. And modern. Yet simple. I love the big screen tvs with areal views of New York. It just made it feel like we were in a high rise building or a blimp with a birds eye view of many of New Yorks beautiful landmarks. The couches were extremely comfortable too. Great cushion. You just sink into them. Its a small area but great utilization of the space, making it seem large and spacious. The chairs too were really comfortable to sit in. We spent 3 hours in there and it flew by so quickly. The ambiance and feel here was just truly top notch. Our waitress was Brandy, or is it Brandi? She was super cool. She was a one person crew. Basically getting orders, making drinks, cleaning tables, and checking in on us. And she did it with great charisma, attitude and personality. Super knowledgeable about the menu. Made great drinks quickly. And was just super personable. Great job from her!! Her attitude and demeanor really matched the top tier aura they were going for here. They have a great selection of drinks. From more alcohol forward drinks to light and fruity drinks to refreshing drinks. I really did enjoy their drink selections. We had a total of about 6 drinks and they were all really good! We got there: 1. Fox's wedding- light, seeet and refreshing. I love the origami piece that Brandy put on it as well. Looked so beauitful. 2. Guava chiffon pancake- it was tropical, light but also had a coconut feel to it. It was really good. 3. The Monroe- this was light but tart, but not too tart. Silky with fruit forward notes. 4. Miso honey butter corn- rarely is a savory cocktail good. But this one was pretty good. The butter fat washed burbon was super intriguing. But it works well 5. When pigs fly- came with a paper airplane on top!! Haha. Love the playfulness. But the drink was so complex yet smooth. It was really good. For the bourbon drinkers, this one is for you! 6. Smoked Old Fashion- presentation is amazing. Comes in a big glass case that has cherry wood smoke inside. When you open it, you get that intense smell of burning cherry wood. Drink is smokey but in a very good way. Tasted amazing. A true classic done right. Their food menu is very encompassing and thorough as well. From full on burgers, to flat breads, to appetizers and small bites, to salads. They have a little of everything!! We ordered the following: 1. Pub nachos- this was an extremely large plate of loaded nachos. Super crunchy and fresh. I loved the generous amount of Chipotle chicken on top. The pepper jack queso sauce and jalapeño crema was a really good sauce. It just binded everything together. The beans and the fresh jalapeño just really all worked together. It was super good. Kept you grazing and munching away, but never becoming too full (more room for their drinks!!). 2. Figgy piggy flat bread- it was ok. Sweet caramel onions and fig jam, paired with some pungent cheeses. I thought it was pretty good. 3. Shrimp street tacos- 1 order comes with 2 tacos. They were good sizes. I love their tacos. So flaverful. Everything works together. Just tasted amazing!! Overall everything about this place is 5 stars. The ambiance, the decor, the exclusivity. The service. The drinks and the food. As i said 3 hours went by so fast!! Definitely a must try when in the area. And when you stay at the Marriott, its just a simple walk back to your room. And we left feeling happy and amazing. On the reservation request I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, so once we were seated they brought out a little "Happy Anniversary" card signed by the whole staff. It was a very thoughtful touch! We started by ordering a Summer Barrel Aged Cocktail to drink. It reminded me of an Old Fashioned. It was good! I personally tend to like sweeter drinks a bit more, but I was in the mood for something different from my usual and this sounded like an interesting flavor combination, so I was happy with my choice. It definitely left you wanting more. I honestly would have ordered that as a main, it was that good. The seafood risotto was so rich and flavorful. It had a creamy, buttery texture with a mild seafood flavor but not overpowering. It was a beautiful saffron color too. The branzino was also excellent. In short, we loved all the food and we left feeling very full with even a bit of food leftover. We skipped dessert since we were just too full. Overall, everything about this place was great - good service, great food, and a nice ambiance. The parking situation is also super easy since there's a large garage right next to it and they validate. It seems to be in a business park so the garage was pretty empty by 6pm on a Friday.

Southern food has a lot of charm and Bosscat Kitchen brings this charm to Southern California in…read morethe spirit of true Southern cooking. The menu is simple and straightforward. The cooking uses quality ingredients and love and care. I was here on business by myself and was seated immediately and after a quick look at the menu decided on the devil's cut ribeye a steak. It comes with a massive amount of oven, roasted potatoes and green beans. I also got a side salad with it as well which was way too much food for one person. The entire thing was big enough for two normal or maybe even three light eaters. The steak was excellent with a sweet coffee rub with a slightly sweet mapley taste. I could only finish about half and save the rest for the next day. Even though I was full, I decided to try the fried apple pie because it was recommended by many other reviewers. It was actually amazing. It was the dish that was highly recommended by the server and she was not wrong. The ice cream on top was probably House made and the pie itself was like a gourmet version of a hostess apple pie but of course with much higher quality ingredients and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is exciting. It is a fun place to visit with the visual aspects such as the bird cages in the window case. Oak barrels used for aging whiskey are set around and the general vibe was very attractive. Everyone was having a great time and making quite a lot of noise from all the conversation and the music, but people were really enjoying themselves. If you want to have a quiet conversation with someone, this is probably not your place, but if you want a fun time with that kind of vibe, it is an excellent place. I recommend Bosscat highly.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a great time!…read moreWe were seated on the patio which was very comfortable. Our server was also the bartender, Javier, who was really on top of everything and even indulged in a little movie chat with us. We were never forgotten being the only ones sitting outside. The food was really great and was served in a timely manner. I got the Fork and Knife burger. Let me tell you, wow! It was spectacular! They have a nice variety of dishes to eat as well as drinks! I would definitely recommend this place!

We had a noon reservation for a large team lunch (party of 14). Upon arrival, the main indoor…read moredining area was relatively empty, though the patio was completely packed--clearly, it's the popular spot. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.
