It has been a few years since we have been to CPK. We decided to give them a chance and came on a Friday around 4:30. We sat at the bar and enjoyed their Happy Hour menu. We were helped by the bartender Vanessa who was very friendly. We ordered the $9 happy hour draft beer and perso nal pizza (bbq chicken, pepperoni or cheese options) and dumplings. The food was delicious. Only issue we had was we never got any fresh bread and our waters weren't re-filled. We will definitely return for the HH and get one of their delicious salads. read more

Less protein on the two items I regularly ordered: 1. Thai Chicken Pizza - same good taste with the sweet, salty, sour, and spicy Thai flavors - a creamy peanut based sauce on a pizza crust the usual carrots, bean sprouts. However there is hardly any chicken on this pizza. High carbs, high salt, and low protein. 2. Thai Crunch salad - this used to contain large pieces of tender chicken, but hardly any now. I've been back to this place three times in three months and now I realize it's how they serve it, not one night of running out of chicken. Vegetables, crunchy bits, ample dressing - again high carbs, but with a little protein. My friends usually order the plank salmon. This hasn't changed, still tastes pretty good but a lot more expensive these days. The corn and vegetable accompaniment is yummy. Service is spotty, sometimes it takes a long time to get waited on and they don't always bring bread and water immediately. It takes a lot longer to get service, like getting the bill. We've had their pizzas many times in the past, so today we decided to try two new entrees. We got the full sized steakhouse salad with pieces of filet mignon and crispy hash brown style potatoes on a bed of veggies. We ordered the Gorgonzola on the side bc my husband doesn't like it, but I enjoyed eating double portions of cheese! I enjoyed the flavor of the dressing, although I probably should have remembered to order it on the side to save some calories as it was very well dressed. We also tried the chicken tequila fettuccine which came out hot and tasted great. You can definitely taste the tequila flavor in the sauce. The chunks of chicken were tender and the fettuccine was al dente. Almost forgot to mention how yummy the house bread was! The Marketplace is a wonderful center where you can shop and walk many stores and pop by one of your favorite eating establishments for a quick bite. I hadn't stop by CPK in a long while and decided to cool off and have a chopped steak salad. I noshed on delicious bread and herbed olive oil. It was so tasty and I was in a rush so I took my two orders home. Thai salad and Steak Chopped Salad. Vanessa was a nice server that looked very busy managing all of the tables by herself. Karim sat me down because nobody was at the host station and the server was juggling too many things to take notice of me. I read many of the reviews and I can see that this location excels in pizza and Happy Hour bites. Salad needs rework. There were 5 small cubes of mystery meat not filet mignon the menu purports. Greens were not crisp and ugly chunks that what one might call stale potato wedges which did not complement the salad at all. A weak new item that calls for fixing or removing off the menu ($22.95). The lunch duo selection was not explained but may be a value if you're looking for one. I doctored my salad to make it palatable when I got home. Please do better. We got seated right away, interior is large with good amount of booth and table seating. We shared a spinach artichoke dip, Thai pizza, and dumpling salad. Artichoke dip (7/10) creamy and good flavor, chips were a bit stale but otherwise the dip was good Thai pizza (8/10)-great crust! My boyfriend and I decided to try this spot on a slow Thursday evening one week. I have to state that they were very much understaffed. The manager came up to us and offered us a table, and after what see like forever, the waitress then brings us a menu. I don't normally review big chain restaurants, but this specific California Pizza Kitchen always goes out of their way to provide excellent service and my food was so good today! Can't go wrong with a classic CPK pizza. I got their signature Barbecue Chicken Pizza, and a mango iced tea. I opted for the cauliflower crust to test it out. Sooo good. The crusted was nice and thin but folded to perfection when taking a bite. The sauce is sweet and tangy and the chicken and onions weren't over done, but delish. Several people walked by my table and commented how good my pizza and salad looked! I loved getting lunch here before heading out to nearby shopping, it's a great mid-week spot. Me and my family dined at CPK last Sunday night. My family and I had a great experience. Great customer service from the server Willy and the manager Steve would check in with us. I haven't been to CPK in a while and was surprised that they elevated their menu. The server brought bread and always checked to make sure our drinks were refilled. The food was amazing especially the jambalaya. My mother had the salmon piccata and said it was really good as well. The cheesecake was also really good. I definitely recommend CPK. read more

I'm dissapointed with this location of California Pizza Kitchen. The menu has a wide selection of pizzas, dishes, and pastas. My favorite pizza is the 5 cheese and tomato pizza. The ambiance inside is nice. The employees are friendly but the restaurant is severely understaffed. I can tell that the servers are trying their best to serve everyone in a timely manner. However on my most recent visit, it took 30 minutes to get our starter appetizer. On other visits, it took 15 minutes just to get seated and another 30 minutes to get our food and drinks. I was extremely dissapointed with the bolognese that I ordered on my most recent visit. It had almost no meat in it. It was basically marinara sauce with 3 bites of meat. I hadn't been to a CPK in over 20 years & I guess I didn't miss much. Unfortunately, the quality of food was subpar. Ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was so oily and soggy. The spinach artichoke dip for appetizers and it was fine but they seemed to skimp on the chips. The pastas that we ordered were mid, lacked flavor and nothing to rave over. I noticed that the cutlery were on the dirty side. My ice tea that I ordered was bad so I had to order a fountain drink. (they said they tried it and it was bad so they would need to probably brew a new batch) It was my daughter's birthday and they "accidentally" added her birthday sundae to the check. They didn't have any birthday candles available for the Sundae. Just overall disappointed all around. Due to a really busy day, I placed a quick pickup order and walked in expecting poor service after a bad experience at another CPK (CPK at the Santa Anita Mall). I was very glad to be wrong. This location was amazing from start to finish. The host opened the door for me, and another gentleman immediately escorted me to the pickup counter to make sure someone helped me right away. Melany was ready at the counter, asked for everything I needed before I even had to ask, processed my payment quickly, and had me on my way. On my way out, the host was already there again to open the door for me. The quality of the food was much fresher here as well and so neatly packed! The restaurant was also impressively clean--especially the floors. This was a complete 180 from the Santa Anita Mall CPK I've visited. I will definitely be back to dine in based on today's experience. I wish all CPKs operated like this one! read more

We absolutely love this CPK location. Every single staff member is so caring, helpful, and always welcoming us with a smile. My son and I come here at least two, sometimes three times a week, and we will literally choose this location over any other nearby because the service and the food are consistently amazing. My son is very picky about his food being extremely hot--he does not like cold food at all--and they always get his order right. On the rare occasion something isn't perfect, they never hesitate to remake it without any issue. Vanessa is always a pleasure to see. This CPK has gone downhill. I ordered kung pao spaghetti here and they forgot to add the peanuts. That's like the main ingredient that makes it kung pao. I now go to the one on Alton even though it is further away from me and it is like night and day! Food tastes so much better! And it is a much cuter and newer space inside. Got take-out. Their avocado egg rolls are great in person, but get a little soggy when ordered to-go. The margherita pizza my friend got was also good. However, I ordered a pizza with a cauliflower crust, but it definitely was not low-gluten. While the pizza was decent, I am very disappointed because of how it affected me. I'm not sure if they just didn't make the pizza correctly, or if their cauliflower crust is not gluten-free as they advertise. read more
