But, since I have been a participant in the restaurant protein supply chain for decades, I can see how your specs on some items have morphed. The chicken pieces you get from suppliers are now way too big, most are over 1x1 avg size. Back in the day the sizes were smaller and more palatable; approx 1/4" size cuts =perfect. But now you get huge pieces stuck together complete opposite experience - it's almost like you told the supplier to save you $ and stop cutting the smaller better sizes. I only come back to Pick-up Stik for their House Special Chicken or Beef. However, since after covid, the taste had not been the same as pre-covid for some reasons. I don't recommend family meal unless you like fried rice and chow mein - they had a unique taste. Chow meins were too saucy for me and fried rice tasted a little plain. I always order through Pick-Up-Stix app. They have promotions here and there. Staff is always polite and cordial. Food was finished as stated time after I ordered online. We ordered 5 plates to go - my fam has lots of different dietary restrictions but the staff were still super patient and helpful answering our questions. I ended up getting the firecracker tofu and noodles. SO GOOD! They made all the food fresh to order and did everything so quickly. And those plates were FILLED. I pretty much only opt for the house special chicken, and it's great that you can add extra caramelization as well as veggie mix ins. The veggie mix may take away some portion of the house special chicken, but it does include snap peas, zucchini, carrot, and broccoli. The portion seems rather decent as the container seems nearly filled to the lid with rice and chicken. The associates here are real friendly and literally each and every person inside the store behind the counter said welcome to pick up stix (seems like management is really pushing to be like Panda for acknowledging customers). It was so nasty and there was no discernible chicken in it that I became suspicious and found out there's only 10 grams of protein. An order of chicken strips from a competitor (rhymes with chic bilet) is 40 grams. So if you want to eat chicken when you order chicken don't get this "firecracker chicken" since there's no chicken there. It appears to be a scam to make a dish that looks nice but contains only cheap carbs because carbs are cheap. Go elsewhere. read more
