Mori's is pretty hidden but super cute and welcoming establishment! I ordered a coconut coffee and it was pretty good, you are able to adjust the sweetness of your drinks which is really convenient. I got 50% sweet and the drink itself was really satisfying as the coconut flavor in the coffee really popped out (I usually find other coffee places to lack a good coconut flavor but this place did amazing). Not to mention, I absolutely adore the workers here, the kindest young ladies ever! They made my day with their compliments and generous customer service! Definitely recommend everyone to give this place a try!
-Drinks: I've tried both their banana matcha and pistachio matcha latte. The matcha taste is strong. Both were solid drinks, and the banana cream topping was especially tasty. -Parking: Parking is a little limited, and most spots are only 30-minute parking. That said, it's usually not too hard to find a spot. -Service: Customer service is alright. Most of the times I've been there, the staff didn't seem to be in the best or most energetic mood. -Ambiance: The shop has its own cute vibe, but it's pretty small, so I wouldn't say it's the best spot for studying. They do have a few tables outside.
The cutest little matcha shop tucked away in a residential strip mall between apartments and high rise condos. In addition to having great quality matcha, they really craft some amazing flavored drinks that aren't overly sweet or artificial. They also have a food menu, and great grab and go options. They don't have interior seating but, do have a couple of tables outside. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and they really take their time to craft your drinks with attention to detail! If you're a true matcha lover, Mori's is a must visit!
So good! Jealous of all the students who get access to great matcha all the time. I loved the Creamy Pistachio Matcha latte! I ordered it less sweet, and it was the perfect level. As someone who hates overly sweetened drinks, I appreciate the ability to customize any drink and how they use a light hand when it comes to sugar levels. Big fan of the cheese foam--it balances the drink nicely. Overall great selection of drinks and the matcha is solid!
Mori's. Finally made it here. Very lucky to find a parking spot right away in front Good selection of matcha drinks. Got a Shizuoka. Great quality matcha flavor. Wasn't too sweet. Sugar didn't over power the matcha flavor. Customer service was great. Ordered through a kiosk. And the drinks came out pretty quick. Definitely be back to try the other flavors
- plenty of parking out front, it's situated within an apartment complex - it's compact inside and not too study/work friendly, though good for chatting - there was so much variety in the menu! It seems they introduce new flavors and drinks pretty often so that keeps things interesting - staff was super sweet! We went near closing but she was still accommodating and attentive (1) shizouka matcha (rich for +$1) - it was so bright and refreshing! The aftertaste of the matcha was creamy and almost fruity? It was very enjoyable. The 25% sweetness was perfect for me (2) double matcha: - a more indulgent drink with that cheesy matcha foam - it's slightly lighter in matcha flavor compared to the first drink but still tasty! - this matcha flavor profile is more mellow
I didn't expect to like this place, but the moment I turned my head and saw displays of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha, as well as seeing it being used in their kitchen, my eyes lit up. I knew that was a sign that their matcha was going to be legit. What I ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte DRINK: 8/10 I think next time I'm going to order a plain Iced Matcha Latte with no fixings. The Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte was good, but the strawberry tasted a bit too sweet and artificial for my liking (it's actual strawberry puree as the owner mentions below, which is worth mentioning). I could be wrong, but I think without the strawberry, the matcha itself would shine even more. SERVICE: 8/10 You order through the self-kiosks, and my drink came out really quickly. Serving was very straightforward and quick, which makes sense since this is more of an in-and-out kind of spot. AMBIANCE: 7/10 A cozy, tiny spot that's more suitable for grab-and-go. There are a few indoor seats, as well as some outdoor seating, but I'd probably come here more for the drinks to go than to hang out.
Excellent matcha!! Hidden between apartments and corporate buildings, you wouldn't expect to find quality matcha tucked away here. Service is fast and everything I'm looking for in searching for a legit matcha place Tried Guava matcha which was great because a lot place don't do them. Def recommend I would also recommend the Hojicha Extra points for having multiple options for Japanese matcha from different regions!

I had this place bookmarked for a while so was excited to finally try this spot given its good reviews. Upon entering, you see the place has very limited seating and limited outdoor parking as well. I got the Shizouka matcha latte. The staff asked if I wanted original, rich or extra rich, so I picked extra rich for more matcha flavor. It wasn't until check out did I realize it was an extra $2 charge! The staff didn't inform me of this so I ended up getting the original. This drink was quite disappointing. For a place that specialzies in their matcha, you can't taste much matcha flavor at all. A lot of people seem to be getting their flavored matchas so maybe that's what their better for, but just as an original matcha latte, it's a hard pass. I also tried the Sesame Cloudy hojicha which comes with a biscoff biscuit. This too, didn't have a good blend of flavors. The hojicha was not very strong and the sesame flavor was only in the powder they sprinkle on top, not the actual drink. I also tried their foods, the Unagi grain bowl and Garlic chicken breast bowl. They both came with a decent amount, had some veggies and corn. Flavor itself was good, not too outstanding and the unagi had quite a few tiny bones in there. For a place that had limited seating, if you came at a busy time, you'd really have nowhere to enjoy the food. Although majority of people come just for drinks, they also sat around to drink too. Given the quality of food and drinks, the price was also on the higher side. Overall, would probably pass if you're looking for a good drink spot given other better spots in Irvine.
great coffee and tea spot! i also love that they have food options available here so it's great as a mid day pick me up or for lunch. for four drinks, we got our order within 5-10 minutes so i loved how quick the service is. the location is in the middle of a bunch of apartment complexes so super convenient for people who live nearby all the drinks were delicious. the cold brew was the perfect t taste, not too acidic. the house coffee was perfectly sweet while still being able to taste the coffee. i loved the biscoff cookie on the sesame hojicha since i dipped it in the cheese foam. the cheese foam was delicious and paired perfectly with the sesame hojicha drink. you could really taste every component of the drink. the mango matcha was also delicious with both mango and matcha flavors balancing each other perfectly. would definitely come back if i were in the area.
I've been on a blueberry matcha grind, as I still feel a plain simple matcha latte is best made at home. Mori's matcha definitely delivered on the flavor here. I noticed they prescoop their fruit puree/jam(?) in cups to store in their front display fridge. There is a kiosk to order or you can order at the front with a staff member if available. Several signs posted around the store with special flavors & an opportunity for free Assam milk tea with Yelp review. I got the blueberry matcha with 75% sweetness. I tried to sip the matcha first without mixing too much, but with 1 stir I could already taste the blueberry. A few stirs in, I was drinking a perfectly sweetened blueberry matcha, but I was concerned about the rest of the blueberry puree still at the bottom of the cup. Next time, I would further decrease the sweetness since the puree is quite sweet after mixing all the way. I needed to wait for the ice to melt a bit to balance this. Otherwise, the puree itself had bits of blueberry that I could taste, would get again!
Cute spot, not much seating. Outside seems limited parking (they aren't too strict with the time limit i think), but there is a parking garage behind the cafe (not the ones across in the parking lot road but the opposite road from the street). Kiosk order. Pretty fast but more of a to go spot The matcha was not too sweet, got 50% and it was a bit grassy. They have lactose free whole milk and oat milk. The guava matcha is just guava jam with matcha, but balanced. They also have various rice bowls. The hojicha had a slight roast flavor and wasnt too grainy or strong in either way, the cream top is not super creamy and didnt come with too much. Overall like medium tier quality, decent portion. Come here for a casual local fix thats close by to the university

They have kind staff who are very helpful and detailed in explaining the drinks. One of them (pink hair girl and girl in the green shirt) even offered to remake my drink due to an error. However, the taste of the food and drinks are enough to make me not want to come back. I have ordered the double matcha 3 times now and each time the foam has such a sour smell. The garlic chicken breast bowl is also extremely dry. I do also wish their kiosk allowed customizations on their Guava Latte. I do not like the foam on that drink as it is also sour in a way that the foam tastes as if it's going bad but there is no option to remove the foam on that drink compared to the others. Their granola on the banana cream does create an odd texture on the drink so I would recommend removing it. I would like to update and say I came back in today to order it again and seems like the two same girls (Lili/minh) were working. I had let them know my concerns from last time and they were able to recommend a different drink for me which I did like. They also offered to make it for free which was very generous and I appreciate that a lot. However, the food is still subpar, I would recommend going somewhere else for food. It is quite expensive for the portion and the price you pay. The amount of beef given is so small to cost $20 for the bowl. read more

Gave it another go & it was a lil better! We got the double matcha & taroberry matcha ~ both were just ok. Matcha's not very strong so you taste more of the other flavors if anything. I also recommend getting 100% sweet!! Their food is surprisingly pretty good & healthy tho. Loved their energy grain bowls for the chicken & beef options :-) Cute lil space to work/study on weekdays! read more
My friends and I decided to stop by mori's after hearing how good their matcha is. I would say if you enjoy the bitter taste of matcha, then this place is right for you. Instead of the creamy and sweet taste that some places focus on, they try to focus on that bitter element instead imo. My only complaint is that instead of using normal milk they use lactose free milk, so it definitely loses out some flavor for me. It's nice that they provide it but I wish it was there for a secondary option instead of the main option! The service was great, and have no complaints about it, and the area around Moro is very modern and sleek. It's located in an apartment area, so do watch for the parking as some of the structures are only meant for residents. read more

I had heard of this new restaurant serving marukyu koyamaen matcha and as a certified matcha girly I had to visit. It's a small store (more of a grab and go), but they had an extensive drink and food menu. I appreciated all the food options (def expensive but it's Irvine so can't judge ), and I got the soba. The food was fresh (I just poured a little too much of the sauce so the rest of my meal became super tangy but that's on me), and I got the extra rich matcha and it was justttt like I like it! If you do choose do to the extra rich, make sure to have a small amount for sweetness to balance out the bitterness. I think it's a great spot near UCI to grab a drink or bite! read more
Gave Mori's a quick stop for their UJI matcha. It wasn't super strong, more on the watery side than smooth or bold, but it did the trick as a light pick me up. I'd give the matcha a 3/5. Didn't have time to try the food, but the menu looked solid. I'd probably go for one of their taro drinks or something else next time. Pro tip- Parking in front is tight since it shares the plaza, but there's free structure parking in the back which is clutch. Overall vibe was great. MOri's is on a roll with their quick and hearty bowls. Swung by around noon to grab their Honey and Spicy Chicken Thigh Bowl. The little shop was clean and bright, with many informational displays about the different types of drinks they offer. There's a self service utensils station on the left wall. Since I grew up eating brown rice and purple rice, it's a welcome sight to see it in more restaurants nowadays. The purple rice helps balance out the brown rice. The chicken thigh was nice and tender and fits perfectly well with the sesame aioli sauce. The roasted veggies were fragrant with a slightly toasted oil flavor that pairs well with rice. It's sad when you walk in a new place and your excited to try the matcha there and as you all know getting a coffee or matcha is becoming a treat with the prices now, I don't mind paying but not to be helped buy this young lady the receipt said lili not sure if that's her name not even a hi or welcome she looked mad didn't even look at me kept working I waited patiently until I noticed on the side I went to place the order she goes what can I get you I told her I'm sorry just noticed I can place the order my self she goes so what do you want I'm like ok she takes my order , when she called my number I took the drink and told her thank you and she ignored me I got in my car to see my drink was made wrong it's all ice not much matcha all that for $8 won't be going there again read more

Got a strawberry matcha with oat milk at the recommended 50% sweetness and it was goooood. Perfect sweet level that let the matcha shine thru but good strawberry sweetness and flavor. Cute lil matcha shop in small shopping plaza next to an apartment complex... but it's kind of hidden from the street so visibility isn't great. My drink was good... light and good texture due to the taro. I would overall give my experience a 3 though because the staff wasn't that friendly and we were standing there for a few minutes before any of them greeted us or even began to ask if we were ready to order. My expectations for Mori's was not super high, but they exceeded my expectations for sure. This place needs more hype! We tried two drinks and I loved them both, loved the Creme Brûlée a little more though. I thought that the Matcha Latte wasn't very sweet so I asked for more. The drinks were very creamy and smooth. Taro matcha (left): Yummy! The taro was very fresh and creamy, which complimented the matcha well without overpowering it. It's a new flavor combination for me but I definitely didn't mind it. Rich Uji Matcha (right): I was very excited for this drink because I believe they use Marukyu Koyamaen, but this matcha was way too thick and bitter for my liking. I didn't mind the bitterness because they did warn me that their matcha is naturally less sweet than most places. After trying it at 50% (recommended), I did ask for 25% more sugar which they were very nice about. However, the matcha was still so thick that it almost felt powdery in my mouth, as if it hasn't been whisked fully yet. Overall, I still think Mori's is a great cafe with high quality matcha drinks, but depending on personal preferences this might not be the one for you if you don't like a thick/bitter matcha! read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch + matcha around noon on a weekday and there wasn't necessarily a line, but definitely a steady stream of customers! ~the drinks~ - Taro match fresh milk ($6.75): This was my favorite drink from Mori's! I really loved that they added chunks of fresh taro inside the drink, and it doesn't have that purple, artificial flavorings, so the subtle flavors of the fresh taro pairs really well with the matcha! 50% sweetness was perfect for me! - Cloudy matcha ($6.75): also really enjoyed this one! The cheese foam on top was very creamy, but wasn't too overly sweet! I also got this one at 50% sweetness, and it was just right! - Cream brûlée matcha swirl ($6.95): this one was good, but not my favorite of the three drinks; The cream brulee inside the drink was really creamy and had almost a nice pudding flavor! The matcha part is blended, which the staff did say when we ordered it, but somehow, the blended matcha part was a little too icy? Maybe they needed to blend it more, but the ice was still pretty crunchy; good flavor, but didn't love the blended matcha part ~the food~ - Honey & spicy skinless chicken thigh grain bowl ($16.45): pretty good! I loved that the bowl had a lot of veggies underneath! The chicken itself was also pretty good! I think it could've used a bit more flavor, but added some sauce and it was just right! Nice balanced bowl for lunch! - Eel/Unagi grain bowl ($18.95) : The unagi was pretty good! It was very tender/soft and paired well with the rice/veggies as well! Portions were pretty reasonable considering the price of the bowl! ~overall~ I really loved their Taro Matcha drink, so I'll definitely be back to get it again! Some of the best matcha I've tried in all of OC usually I like it entirely unsweetened but I took the chance to try their ube matcha and still got it extra double matcha and their ube was the perfect amount of sweetness and you can taste real fruits in it. Really appreciate their effort to use real ingredients and good quality matcha bc honestly most places in SoCal really lack both parts (good matcha and making syrups purees in house with fresh ingredients). One of the best taro matcha drinks I've ever had! I arrived around 11:45am on a Saturday. There is some parking in the front but it's limited to 30 minutes. There is a parking structure in the back if you prefer to stay longer. The place was very small and there were some people there studying and waiting for their orders. I ordered at the counter and my drink came out a couple minutes shortly. I ordered the taro uji matcha fresh milk at regular sweetness. The matcha was not too bitter or too sweet! The taro was also very good; I like that they made it with ube and you tell the flavors complement each other very well. I also like that it's a a smooth paste which makes it easier to drink. Another thing is they use lactose free milk! Overall a great drink! I will definitely be coming here more, just need to make the drive. If you're near the UCI area and want a good matcha, I recommend this place! read more
My friend & I were looking for something healthy so we decided to stop by here. The worker recommended their special, the spicy honey chicken thigh bowl, which had very good presentation & had lots of nutritional components like corn, purple rice, broccoli! Proportions were also very filling & left me very full. Flavorful wise though it felt lacking to me to be honest though, chicken wasnt anything special, not that much flavor or spice going on. (3/5) They have a $5 discount special for college students & you just have to present an Id if you qualify. I got a matcha latte but the matcha tastes wasnt really strong or apparent. Very light taste. It was okay, nothing special. I dont think I would get it again bc there is better out there... (2.5/5) I also noticed they didn't have a lot of their ingredients available to make their diff matchas too when I went which is kind of disappointing, the workers would repeatedly say "we dont have that" to multiple drinks & to multiple people despite it being on the menu. Honestly some of the best matcha you can get in OC! If you like your matcha strong, Mori's offers a ton of customization to their drinks, and you can order from a variety of different flavors (banana, guava, etc.) I get the Shizuoka matcha latte, extra rich, no ice and 25% sugar. Very high quality ingredients! Also, ordering is done on a kiosk, but you can order with the cashier if you want to. Highly recommend! read more

I first want to say the energy grain bowl is AMAZING!!! The matcha series is great, so customizable and good quality. There is not much seating so I wouldn't say this is a good study spot. The service is good, I could tell they were stressed with orders and the the constant door dashers (which are so rude- they would come up and just shove the phone in their face). Stopped by Mori's on Scholarship today and grabbed the Cloudy Matcha (75% sweet, whole milk) and Shizuoka Banana Cream Matcha (75% sweet, lactose-free whole milk). Both were excellent -- smooth, flavorful, and perfectly sweetened. Quick service and great quality. Will be back soon! read more

The cafe was very ambient and Japanese style, overall a pleasant experience. 7/10 Food - It wasn't mind-blowing but definitely tasted than it looked. The menu leans toward interesting, refreshing, and wholesome options. Nothing too heavy or overly savory and everything on the menu felt like a solid, nutrient-packed choice. 8.5/10 Matcha - As expected, the matcha is the star here. I ordered the ultra rich option which lived up to its name, being very matcha-y with noticeably good ceremonial tea quality. The drinks do have that familiar blend of milk, sweetener, and water, but the matcha itself is clearly high grade, which makes a big difference. They also give you a little cup of extra sweetener if you ask, which is a nice touch for people who like it more on the sweeter side. There's a water pitcher infused with lemon or orange available, along with cups nearby. They also sell some surprisingly high-quality matcha accessories, including beautiful mixing bowls and stands. The glazed and matte options both looked great, and prices were around $45-50, which is pretty reasonable for the craftsmanship. wow lots of new matcha options since the last time i visited! matcha is def smooth and not grainy since a year ago i went lol. i like how their standard sweet is 50%, which is what i got for my strawberry matcha. i could've done less sweet (25%) too but either options are still good. would def come back to try the double matcha. read more

Been to Mori's a couple of times and have tried the cloudy matcha, double matcha, and yuzu matcha tonic. All are very good and my favorite so far is the cloudy matcha! I like that they use Marukuyu Koymaen as it is the matcha I use making my own drinks at home! Service is pretty quick, never longer than 2 or 3 minutes after ordering. There is very limited seating inside and some outdoor tables, so if it's busy it might be hard to find a spot to study or get work done. Most people seem to get their drinks and go though and when I came in on a Sunday morning I was able to find a spot and get my work done! Overall, I'll definitely be coming back again and trying more of their drinks especially since it's so close to UCI! read more
This coffee shop is tucked in an apartment complex area, with limited parking but a couple of eateries around. It opens pretty late, so I stopped by for a warm drink before class. I ordered a hot matcha, which typically comes with cheese foam. Since I wasn't familiar with it, I opted out, but Celina, who was super friendly and welcoming, kindly offered me a sample. The cheese foam is thick and creamy, almost like cream cheese frosting but not as sweet--surprisingly delicious! Also, I think each drink comes with a little card that describes the ingredients. The shop itself is small, with only about eight indoor seats, making it a cozy spot to enjoy a drink. Parking is limited to two hours, so keep that in mind if you're planning a longer visit. They have food (salads, sandwiches, energy grain bowls) and offer lots of different drinks as well, like the Oriental Herb, milk teas, coffee, and smoothies. read more

Thanks to @ac.sthetic, we knew about Mori's anniversary and with the flyer from psc.UCI for 15% off uji matcha, strawberry matcha, blueberry matcha, double matcha, and milk teas went to get lunch before work yesterday. We also got a free braised egg with each energy bowl we bought. I ordered a strawberry matcha 75% sweet and a honey & spicy skinless chicken thigh energy grain bowl. My husband asked for an iced matcha tea, but did not specify sweetness so I ordered 50% sweet for him. I should have ordered 25% for him. He hadn't had eel in a while and wanted the eel (unagi) energy grain bowl. The staff member taking my order was very polite and gave excellent service. She held on to my to-go drink for my husband and packed it into the bag with the energy bowls. Utensils and napkins can be gotten at a side station. There was also cucumber lemon water for refreshment. Our drinks came with stickers and menu cards. The drinks also had special anniversary sleeves. My daughter was very happy with her taro berry menu card. I liked my strawberry matcha menu card. With our $20 orders, we each got a raffle ticket for the 3 prizes: 1st prize, Popmart Labubu, 2nd prize, canned matcha powder or matcha bowl set, and 3rd prize, discount vouchers. There is counter space and a couple tables inside. There are a few more tables outside which at most can accommodate 3 people I would say. A few people were taking advantage of the available seating. I was able to drink my strawberry matcha because they use lactose-free milk. My drink was perfect. It was different from other place's strawberry matcha because it was topped with freeze-dry strawberry pebbles. The house-made real strawberry puree is what gives the drink its sweetness. Give the drink a good stir. The energy grain bowl is what a nutritionist would order life coaching a patient/client. It has your grain rice, lots of vegetables in corn, broccoli, roasted cauliflower, bean sprouts, shredded carrots, and celery slices, and your choice of protein. The bowl comes with sesame aioli which I didn't need because it was already tasty. Daughter tried my spicy & honey chicken and didn't think it was spicy enough. It had enough kick for me, but I have a sensitive stomach. I liked her garlic chicken breast. My daughter wants to come back to try the nourishing Osmanthus tremella soup and have the tropical mango matcha. We had parked on the street in a 30-minutes parking space.
