I am so bummed because I thought I would love this place. Unfortunately this was a waste of $30. I want to start off that their order process is simple - at the counter or the kiosk. The staff seem to be more focused on getting out orders so I do recommend ordering at the kiosk otherwise you may be standing a while. Banana cloud matcha: 3.5/5 The banana cloud portion was heavenly. My drink came out quickly. I got it at regular sweetness (50%), however after tasting it, I wish I got it at 75%. Though the matcha was very bright, it lacked flavor and fell flat. Food: here is where things went very wrong. I ordered my bowl after 12, which they note would come warm. It was barely room temp. My chicken also had a piece of eggshell on it (visible through the lid), and a hair... at that point I was thinking "what else am I going to find in here". I picked off the egg shell, no biggie, but finding a hair on the chicken in addition was very off putting. I didn't have time to go back and ask them to remake but it was certainly a waste. I'm fully aware that the staff are college students but they need to wear hair nets and ensure food waste isn't making its way into orders.
Interesting matcha drinks. We were in the area to fix up our bike and wanted to check out a matcha place that's unique to Irvine. Mori's was nearby and had great reviews, so we stopped by not realizing there was a 2-year anniversary BOGO event. Parking was easy in the front. Some spots are listed for 10 minutes or 30 minutes parking. There was also a parking garage. For the 2-year anniversary, if we spent over $15, we could spin the wheel. We won a Mori magnet that was heavy duty. Out front, they had a decoration station of your cups. Service was fast considering there was a promotion on their season drinks. Only the pumpkin or mango seasonal drinks were BOGO 50% off. I ordered the Shizouka Matcha Latte with regular sweetness (50%). It wasn't too sweet, so I should have went with extra sweetness. The matcha was chalky with a fruity aftertaste. It kind of tasted like mango before I tried the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha Latte. I liked the sago in the Mango Coco Pomelo. However, the mango wasn't that strong after I mixed the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha. Maybe due to the event and flux of customers, the drinks didn't taste as good as I expected due to the reviews. The service was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
-Drinks: I've tried both their banana matcha and pistachio matcha latte. The matcha taste is strong. Both were solid drinks, and the banana cream topping was especially tasty. -Parking: Parking is a little limited, and most spots are only 30-minute parking. That said, it's usually not too hard to find a spot. -Service: Customer service is alright. Most of the times I've been there, the staff didn't seem to be in the best or most energetic mood. -Ambiance: The shop has its own cute vibe, but it's pretty small, so I wouldn't say it's the best spot for studying. They do have a few tables outside.
The cutest little matcha shop tucked away in a residential strip mall between apartments and high rise condos. In addition to having great quality matcha, they really craft some amazing flavored drinks that aren't overly sweet or artificial. They also have a food menu, and great grab and go options. They don't have interior seating but, do have a couple of tables outside. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and they really take their time to craft your drinks with attention to detail! If you're a true matcha lover, Mori's is a must visit!
So good! Jealous of all the students who get access to great matcha all the time. I loved the Creamy Pistachio Matcha latte! I ordered it less sweet, and it was the perfect level. As someone who hates overly sweetened drinks, I appreciate the ability to customize any drink and how they use a light hand when it comes to sugar levels. Big fan of the cheese foam--it balances the drink nicely. Overall great selection of drinks and the matcha is solid!
Mori's. Finally made it here. Very lucky to find a parking spot right away in front Good selection of matcha drinks. Got a Shizuoka. Great quality matcha flavor. Wasn't too sweet. Sugar didn't over power the matcha flavor. Customer service was great. Ordered through a kiosk. And the drinks came out pretty quick. Definitely be back to try the other flavors
- plenty of parking out front, it's situated within an apartment complex - it's compact inside and not too study/work friendly, though good for chatting - there was so much variety in the menu! It seems they introduce new flavors and drinks pretty often so that keeps things interesting - staff was super sweet! We went near closing but she was still accommodating and attentive (1) shizouka matcha (rich for +$1) - it was so bright and refreshing! The aftertaste of the matcha was creamy and almost fruity? It was very enjoyable. The 25% sweetness was perfect for me (2) double matcha: - a more indulgent drink with that cheesy matcha foam - it's slightly lighter in matcha flavor compared to the first drink but still tasty! - this matcha flavor profile is more mellow
Mori's is pretty hidden but super cute and welcoming establishment! I ordered a coconut coffee and it was pretty good, you are able to adjust the sweetness of your drinks which is really convenient. I got 50% sweet and the drink itself was really satisfying as the coconut flavor in the coffee really popped out (I usually find other coffee places to lack a good coconut flavor but this place did amazing). Not to mention, I absolutely adore the workers here, the kindest young ladies ever! They made my day with their compliments and generous customer service! Definitely recommend everyone to give this place a try!
I didn't expect to like this place, but the moment I turned my head and saw displays of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha, as well as seeing it being used in their kitchen, my eyes lit up. I knew that was a sign that their matcha was going to be legit. What I ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte DRINK: 8/10 I think next time I'm going to order a plain Iced Matcha Latte with no fixings. The Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte was good, but the strawberry tasted a bit too sweet and artificial for my liking (it's actual strawberry puree as the owner mentions below, which is worth mentioning). I could be wrong, but I think without the strawberry, the matcha itself would shine even more. SERVICE: 8/10 You order through the self-kiosks, and my drink came out really quickly. Serving was very straightforward and quick, which makes sense since this is more of an in-and-out kind of spot. AMBIANCE: 7/10 A cozy, tiny spot that's more suitable for grab-and-go. There are a few indoor seats, as well as some outdoor seating, but I'd probably come here more for the drinks to go than to hang out.
Excellent matcha!! Hidden between apartments and corporate buildings, you wouldn't expect to find quality matcha tucked away here. Service is fast and everything I'm looking for in searching for a legit matcha place Tried Guava matcha which was great because a lot place don't do them. Def recommend I would also recommend the Hojicha Extra points for having multiple options for Japanese matcha from different regions!
1. I love the creamy texture of the matcha, and I can definitely taste the pistachio nuts! The sandwich was also well-crafted! 2. The spot has chill casual vibes! The interior is cozy! 3. The staff was friend and timely with my order! It was ready in about 10 mins! 4. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! There are few tables! 5. Garage parking and timed front parking spots are available! Note: I did not easily see a restroom available for customers! Photo: Honey Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Creamy Pistachio Matcha
I had this place bookmarked for a while so was excited to finally try this spot given its good reviews. Upon entering, you see the place has very limited seating and limited outdoor parking as well. I got the Shizouka matcha latte. The staff asked if I wanted original, rich or extra rich, so I picked extra rich for more matcha flavor. It wasn't until check out did I realize it was an extra $2 charge! The staff didn't inform me of this so I ended up getting the original. This drink was quite disappointing. For a place that specialzies in their matcha, you can't taste much matcha flavor at all. A lot of people seem to be getting their flavored matchas so maybe that's what their better for, but just as an original matcha latte, it's a hard pass. I also tried the Sesame Cloudy hojicha which comes with a biscoff biscuit. This too, didn't have a good blend of flavors. The hojicha was not very strong and the sesame flavor was only in the powder they sprinkle on top, not the actual drink. I also tried their foods, the Unagi grain bowl and Garlic chicken breast bowl. They both came with a decent amount, had some veggies and corn. Flavor itself was good, not too outstanding and the unagi had quite a few tiny bones in there. For a place that had limited seating, if you came at a busy time, you'd really have nowhere to enjoy the food. Although majority of people come just for drinks, they also sat around to drink too. Given the quality of food and drinks, the price was also on the higher side. Overall, would probably pass if you're looking for a good drink spot given other better spots in Irvine.
I've been on a blueberry matcha grind, as I still feel a plain simple matcha latte is best made at home. Mori's matcha definitely delivered on the flavor here. I noticed they prescoop their fruit puree/jam(?) in cups to store in their front display fridge. There is a kiosk to order or you can order at the front with a staff member if available. Several signs posted around the store with special flavors & an opportunity for free Assam milk tea with Yelp review. I got the blueberry matcha with 75% sweetness. I tried to sip the matcha first without mixing too much, but with 1 stir I could already taste the blueberry. A few stirs in, I was drinking a perfectly sweetened blueberry matcha, but I was concerned about the rest of the blueberry puree still at the bottom of the cup. Next time, I would further decrease the sweetness since the puree is quite sweet after mixing all the way. I needed to wait for the ice to melt a bit to balance this. Otherwise, the puree itself had bits of blueberry that I could taste, would get again!

This place is such a hidden gem tucked away behind apartment buildings and corporate offices. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and got a jasmine tea with matcha cheese foam. They offer sweetness levels here, but keep in mind that 50% is considered regular sweet, so if you want it less sweet, you may want to get 0-25%! The jasmine tea definitely tasted fresh, and full of the jasmine tea leaves flavor. The matcha cheese foam didn't really have a matcha taste to it, but I did enjoy their cheese foam overall with the drink. This spot also looks like it serves foods, especially ones for a quick lunch. The space is on the smaller side, with a few bar seats and tables inside and out. Definitely more of a grab and go spot I'd say. There's parking in front of the businesses, and it looks parking structures available too. read more

we got the banana and double matcha. the banana was a 5/5, the foam tasted very natural with a hint of saltiness the double matcha was very authentic in flavor. we got 50% sweetness and it was on the bitter side, i recommend at least 75% or higher. read more
Went here with a friend for lunch and ordered the unagi rice bowl. The bowl was delicious, the unagi and eel sauce paired with stir fried cabbage, carrots, and purple rice was great. My only complaint with the dish is that it was kind of oily but nonetheless it's definitely a healthier alternative. The store is super cute but very very small, almost claustrophobic to sit inside. I wouldn't recommend staying and eating here or studying just bc of the cramped feeling but it's a good spot for grab and go. The prices were standard for the drinks but the bowls were a bit pricey but comparable to poke bowl prices. read more
Mori's is a newer health conscious and fast casual spot serving up some delicious meals. This spot is located in a more commercial area nearby some apartment complexes. To get here, there is a specific parking structure for retail businesses where you can park for free. Inside, they have a warm and cozy ambiance with about 3-4 tables for seating and 2 additional tables for seating outside. For their menu, they have different rice and salad bowls along with handcrafted tea, matcha, and coffee drinks. Wifey and I pulled up for lunch and got the Eel Energy Grain Bowl, Braised Beef Energy Grain Bowl, and the Mung Bean Smoothie and Taro Uji Matcha Fresh Milk for our drinks. Everything we had tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious! Overall, this spot is a great blend of Asian flavors with healthy adaptations. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back for another healthy and delicious meal next time! read more

First time trying Moris and I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately the lettuce in my bowl was slimy and clearly not fresh. For a place that markets itself around fresh ingredients, that was pretty disappointing. Hoping this was just an off day, but it definitely didn't leave a great first impression. Cute little hidden gem tucked in between high rise apartment buildings off Jamboree. 1st 2 hours of parking are free and we were able to find a spot right away without having to park in a structure. Cafe was clean. Limited seating so counter ordering is your best option to order and go. Love that they use lactose-free milk. Very few places do, because my daughter has an intolerance to lactose. We ordered the Double Matcha with Cheese Foam and Taroberry Matcha. You can choose the level of sweetness of your drink, but they only serve one size. There were bits of taro and strawberry that you need to mix in to drink it correctly. I will go here before I go to a tea shop in a crazy strip shopping center any day of the week. read more
Overall it is tucked away in a shopping center inside an apartment complex but there is plenty of parking. The place itself is on the smaller side but there is seating outside. Interior is very cute! When it came to the menu they have a good variety of items including food items. Service was fairly quick! When it came to the Matcha the color and cream were good however the matcha taste wasn't as strong as the color seems to be unfortunately. I got the recommended sweetness which was half to be able to enjoy the matcha flavor but maybe the matcha was just too light for my liking. However the presentation was beautiful and biscoff was a nice touch! Probably wouldn't come back but it was nice to try and see what the hype was about. read more
Solid spot for a matcha in Irvine! This cafe serves marukyu koyamaem matcha in their drinks. I got the uji matcha latte rich with oat milk and extra sweet. The drink had a deep green color and fruity notes. The service was good and the inside was super cute! They give out free stickers at the front. I will be coming back to try their other matcha drinks and food! read more

This place is bunz! The matcha is bad, but the service is worse. The day prior we ordered a creme brûlée matcha and today we ordered one but it ended blended and the incompetent lady in the grey essentials shirt did nothing about it to fix our problem. Additionally, yesterday we ordered a guava green tea and it was made amazing, but the staff today need to go back to barista and learn how to make their drinks and service better. Shout out to the Wasian looking girl who can actually make drinks! read more

Finally tried Mori's! Super conveniently located for college students at UCI! Their matcha is truly so so good, high quality not too sweet but flavorful. The drinks are beautiful with good pairing flavors. I tried the cloud matcha, which I was hoping for more cookie butter flavor but it was still great matcha. Then I tried the taro matcha, very authentic tasting and nothing was overpowering. Parking is limited, and service can be a bit slow and not the most helpful. Nevertheless I keep coming back for the drinks! read more

The drinks were a bit disappointing given how much hype this place gets on socials. Both the matcha and the hojicha were disappointing. I was so excited to try this place after hearing the hype! I ended up choosing the Uji Matcha Latte with an rich shot and a Sesame Cloudy Hojicha. I think both drinks are pretty good, but I preferred the latter for the extra stuff. I think I'll have to try the matcha latte without the rich shot, but the employee was kind enough to provide more sweetener for me. Overall, I look forward to revisiting this place again to try their other selection of drinks! read more

This is a healthy spot tucked away in a small courtyard with other restaurants, shops and apartments. The menu offers healthy grain bowls, salads, and drinks. I tried their Uji Matcha Latte, which was actually very delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. It's one of the best matcha lattes I've had so far, and I really want to gatekeep this place, haha. The honey & spicy chicken bowl that I got was also quite good. The staff working there was also very kind and helpful and the inside of the shop was small but quaint with cute decor and just a few places to sit. Can't wait to visit again! read more

came here a second time to try more items on the menu. this time we tried the strawberry matcha, the specialty house coffee, and the spicy chicken thigh bowl. strawberry matcha: 4/5 speciality coffee: 1/5 (just tasted like milk) honey spicy chicken thigh bowl: 3/5 it's nice that it has healthy ingredients. lacking some flavor but it's overall fine, definitely not spicy but that's typical for most restaurants. first off, the service was kinda bad. like i get working and just goofing around, but they were not attentive & just goin kinda crazy back there lmaoo. like i get it if it's slow but lock in sometimes ya kno. it felt like i was disturbing them tbh we ordered the chicken bowl and the spicy sandwich. we waited like 30+ minutes n they told us we were waiting on the sandwich. they brought out two chicken bowl, even though they said earlier they knew it was a bowl and a sandwich. we were like, "we ordered the bowl and the sandwich," and they were said, "oh, okay. well, you can reorder the sandwich and get it yourself if you still want it. If you don't want the second bowl, we can refund it." yea, we could've and it's on us for not really checking our receipt, but she said it back correctly and when we asked about our order they again said it correctly. but after waiting 30+ minutes, we didn't wanna deal. especially if it was the sandwich we'd been waiting on the whole time?? sorry for being a karen, i really wanna like this place, but they really weren't paying attention and being this is my second bad time for not paying attention (ie the weird thing in my drink too) im not too impressed. i like their matcha drinks and the food is nice, but idk read more
The uji matcha latte was the highest rated in our group! My friends and I recommend going with the Uji Matcha as your "base" and adding whatever syrups/toppings from the other drinks that you're interested in. We were surprised to find that the crème brûlée matcha was a blended ice drink rather than a traditional latte. the drinks weren't sweet enough for our taste so feel free to adjust to your liking! We loved that The strawberry matcha uses real strawberry purées! For a photo-worthy drink, be sure to order the Cloud matcha. read more
Wasn't a bad experience but could have been better. My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM and the store wasn't super busy (yay!). I went for the $5 UCI student discount and a lot of the drinks that qualified were sold out. I got the taro berry matcha latte and my friend for the crème brûlée latte. I really liked the taro berry matcha, especially because the taro was actual mashed taro and not a powder flavoring. The matcha was sufficiently strong and the overall drink was the perfect sweetness. The crème brûlée latte was okay. You couldn't really taste the crème brûlée and since there was no dairy substitution for that one, it wasn't my friend's favorite. The matcha taste was really good though The service was kind of weird because the workers were all really friendly with each other but they would laugh and talk really loudly with each other so it felt like I was intruding on a friend hangout lol. They were nice though so I'm not complaining!! Ratings Taro berry matcha: 4.5/5 Crème brûlée matcha: 3/5 read more

Cute little cafe in Irvine close to UCI and located in an apartment complex! Lots of drinks and a small food menu as well.
