Really enjoyed my visit here! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the location is convenient with plenty of good parking. The cute industrial vibe gives the shop a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. The coffee was great, with a good variety of choices to choose from. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!
Really enjoyed Re Ca Phe! The matcha was smooth, creamy, and had a nice matcha flavor without being overly bitter or too sweet. I especially liked the matcha with the creamy foam on top--it added a nice richness and made the drink feel a little more special. The presentation was beautiful too. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving a good iced matcha!
Re Ca Phe specializes in Vietnamese Coffee. "Re" depending on content usually means slow or slowly. I personally see it as a negative growing up. However I imagine the business owners probably has it meaning slow down to enjoy their coffee and take it easy. Not a concept I understand growing up in America. We were in this plaza supporting another business when my boyfriend saw this coffee shop in the corner of the plaza and he was intrigued to come in. I'm down! They have limited seating inside and a small outdoor patio, that they were struggling to set up a TV for during the world cup. It was really crowded and stuffy. My boyfriend ordered the Vietnamese Coffee | 8 oz. ($5) and we were immediately warned it would come in this tiny cup. They were really busy so the drink actually took forever to be ready. That "re re" in action. In a bad way. When we got the drink, the drink itself didn't even fill that tiny cup. I was ready for the small 8 oz. portion but I don't feel like we got the full 8 oz. That tiny cup was mostly ice. Coffee was okay. Strong in a good way to me. Stay away if you don't enjoy strong coffee. The portion size feels insufficient and leaves you wanting another coffee elsewhere. Nice to try but I'm not looking to come back.
Re Ca Phe seemed like a promising coffee shop to get my caffeine fix. Unfortunately, it completely missed my expectations. It's located in a plaza with other businesses. I went around 12:30 pm and it was a packed lot. The store itself was too busy and felt cramped. The space seems suitable for smaller groups. At the time, there was a line before you could order. It took almost 10 minutes for the order to be ready. American Express is accepted here. Sea Salt Coffee: This was on the signature section so I had big expectations for it. It was a very small drink (9 oz). It was slightly salted, tasted bitter, and wasn't sweet despite having condensed milk as an ingredient. It wasn't good. Canale: Despite having to wait for the drink, I needed to wait longer for this because the staff forgot to put it in the order. I needed to wait for them to prepare it in the back and also go back to the counter to charge for it. All to wait for something that was mushy. Coffee Beans: I saw there were coffee beans from Glitch in Japan. It was a brand that I loved there so I wanted to give it a try. I don't usually like fruity notes but this was really delicious. However, it's extremely pricy for how little beans there is.

I would say the best drink I had was their Marble Coffee. But I love the ambience and I can see myself coming back to study! It's relatively quiet in there so it sets the mood. The staff is nice too.
The inside looks cool and the environment is really chill inside. I got the Earl Grey Matcha and it was so delicious! I would recommend if you are in the area to check this place out. Also, service was great! Just fyi this place doesn't accept cash and is card only (the only thing I would change).
I was disappointed with the matcha here considering how popular this coffee shop is. I got the Black Sesame Matcha and it was pretty mid. There wasn't much matcha flavor and volume. It was pretty milky. The black sesame flavor was good and nutty. However, I wasn't a fan of the large grainy bits in the drink. The drinks are also on the pricier side, similar to what you would see in LA which doesn't really match the area and other nearby coffee shops. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a bathroom available. For parking, there's a good amount of free parking in the lot. I think this cafe is known more for their coffees and I would get that next time, but I wouldn't recommend their matcha.
Ordered blueberry matcha 9/10 And a earl grey matcha 10/10 both with oat milk It was really tasty and not a lot of places do blueberry matcha which is why me and my bf had to give this cafe a try! The plaza has such good options as well. The interior is nice , small and cute and it wasn't that busy when we went but I can see how it can be busy. Definitely coming back to try more of their drinks !

I ordered the black sesame latte and my bf got the vietnamese coffee. I like how they also 'warn' you about the size, because the size cups are tiny looool The vietnamese coffee especially is very tiny. Despite the size, I know the coffee is gonna hit hard if you're paying for a price of a regular size cup. The coffee is also very dark so you know it's gonna be very strong. I mainly wanted to try the black sesame latte and yep it was pretty good! The cream was veryyy nice and creamy. It definitely is very strong coffee because usually when I have extremely strong coffee, I start to sweat and get a headache, so yes they serve very strong coffee here. Don't let the size fool you. Small but mighty. Something you should also sip than chug. Overall, the coffee is good, but feel like it was just a one time try for me. I do enjoy a bigger size cup cause I feel its more worth it, even if the caffeine hit is as worth, I do enjoy more of the volume and it could be less concentrated. I respect it though! Cashier was nice and friendly.
Coffee drinks were good, but the matcha and black sesame drink was just OK. Very heavy oat milk taste... not sure if they made it with the wrong ratios, but I've had better. Clean café though.
Wanted to try a new spot in the area so came here to try their earl grey matcha. The earl grey cream top was tasty and fragrant. The drink itself was decent but I've had better earl grey matcha elsewhere. The price for the drink was quite steep at $8.50. Service was decent. There's some indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas.
The Americano was good and strong enough to wake me up for work. Matcha latte was ok, not as smooth as I hoped. The staff were nice and friendly. The store is clean and well organized. We will come back to try the rest and chill outside :)

The workers are really nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I tried their Earl Grey Matcha Latte, and it's honestly one of the best I've had. Not many places offer this combination, so whenever I see it on a menu, I have to try it. What I really liked about this one is how well balanced it is. The earl grey is light enough that it doesn't overpower the matcha, so you can actually taste both flavors clearly without one taking over the other. The Hojicha Vanilla Cream Latte was also really good. The cream on top was silky, smooth, and rich, adding a nice layer of sweetness that paired well with the roasted, nutty flavor of the hojicha. It made the drink feel really comforting and well put together.

My friend and I stopped by here after lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty packed! I was very excited to try their matcha as I saw on the menu they have Earl Grey Matcha! IYKYK, if a place makes an earl grey matcha right, it is so heavenly good! Als that's what I got and my friend got something like a Yuzu matcha refresher. My Earl Grey Matcha came out with a thick cold foam on top with some lavender topping.. hmm... First sip, all I tasted was the thick cold foam on top and the lavender.. which was disappointing. When I ordered it, I asked the barista if their EGM means they use EG syrup, and she said yes, didn't mention that they actually put coal foam on top, which, I'm not a big fan. The EG flavor cold foam was pretty thick with vanilla flavor also, then the lavender on top, makes it very creamy and flowery and since I did not drink it with a straw, I mixed my drink, which is something you should do anyway, which, made my matcha wayyy too milky. I did not like that. I got my matcha with oatmilk and the dairy cold foam made it super milky, overall, I did not enjoy it that much. I'm a matcha lover and the cold foam and vanilla and lavender masked all the matcha taste and made it into such a thick milk based flavored tea drink.. not a fan. My friend's Yuzu matcha refresher though was very refreshing, but it was too sour for both of our taste. The more we drank it, the more confused our brain got... Is it a lemonade? is it Yuzu-nade? It was not really matcha-nade... Overall, it was so so. Maybe our fault was that we did not order coffee, since the name implies lounging with coffee.. Maybe next time. But since its very out of my way, I prob won't make the effort to just go here for their drinks only.. only if I'm already in the area! read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in OC. I have been going here during lunch and occassional pick me up in the AM for the past 2 years. I'd say they take specialty coffee shops to next level when it comes to coffee bean profiles and selection. They just added their avocado chilli toast to the menu and it was delicious. The chilli keeps the authenticity of asian influence into the toast with a nice kick. They said its only going to get better and I already thought it was already Amazing. The chase after perfection and flavor is real here. Great coffee. Great toast. Y'all need to check this place out. read more

Very cute, spacious, clean cut coffee place in FV. Right on the corner upon entrance to the plaza therefore they have corner view of 2 sides and plenty of parking spaces surrounding the place. They do have sidewalk sitting as well as inside seating. Quite nice and cute, very urban vibe. Small menus with some baked goods. Great quality coffee bean so prices are on the high side but if you appreciate a good & fine coffee, it's definitely worth it. Staff is nice and friendly and informed you the type of coffee is going to brew for your drink, which is greatly appreciated. Overall, great place with great vibe and great quality of a fine coffee. read more
Stopped by for coffee and ordered the sesame matcha. Overall, it was decent and drinkable, but not quite outstanding. The matcha wasn't fully dissolved, which made the texture a little uneven. Service was okay, professional, though not especially warm or engaging with customers. The shop itself is small, not very spacious, but clean and well organized. I really wish I had had the same experience that others have clearly had at Re Ca Phe. I visited on a Saturday morning to get coffee for the whole fam. The line was decently long and most of the seating was taken. In total, I ordered 7 drinks: 2 matchas, 2 Vietnamese coffees, a latte, a shakerato, and a pour over. Certain drinks were not able to be adjusted to preference. My boyfriend's pour over was $10. We waited a few extra minutes for it (not a problem, it was busy and we had a lot of drinks). By the time he took his first sip, his whole face just dropped. The coffee itself looked like tea and the cup was not even 60% full!! If I'm paying $10 for a coffee that you won't even add a splash of milk to, I at least expect it to be full?? He went back inside to ask about it and the barista very condescendingly told him that's the proper way to do a pour over. Family said the matcha was grainy and the Vietnamese coffee was tiny. Giving two stars bc I somewhat enjoyed my shakerato. read more
Small viet coffee shop, but constantly flowing with customers. + Black Sesame Coffee ($6) 2 espresso shots w black sesame cream and 23g sugar (asked if it was sweet) squeezed into 9oz = crazy concentrated coffee. A fantastic coffee shop with good pourover options for me and a variety of fun drinks for my spouse. I got a washed sidra roasted by September and wife ended up getting a Bạc Xỉu. Pourover was done on a crystal eye dripper and my kid had a good time watching it being made. Both drinks were very enjoyable. The baristas were very friendly, and the atmosphere was very calm and cozy early in the morning. They also have a good selection of beans, from roasters like Sey, hydrangea, Dak, September. I ordered matcha oat latte regular everything Drink: 8.5/10 Matcha taste was strong and def has high caffeine cus I couldnt sleep until 3am . Personally I would have liked it a little less sweet (maybe 70% instead of 100% sweet but if you like sweet things, then you will not find this sweet). I think they could've used more ice because it was a hot summer day, and that would have helped lessen the sweetness. They also didn't fill the cup all the way unlike other matcha places I've tried. Service: Ngl it was kinda slow. The workers were nice, but it took a while to get out my drink. We did come on a Friday afternoon but honestly it wasn't even THAT busy imo. Vibes: chill vibes, some ppl were studying and some ppl were yapping. There was both indoor and outdoor seating so overall a good hangout spot for a small group. I had this place booked marked since I don't remember when and just happened to get lunch nearby at the recently opened An the Essence restaurant while visiting OC so came here for a post lunchie caffeine pick-me-up. I got the blueberry oat milk matcha latte to play it safe, and it started out sweet but finished with a very strong tea profile when though I gave it a good stir. The matcha was rich, robust, and smooth. Definitely high quality and pretty good value. read more

[Atmosphere]: Simple and minimalistic. Actually the setting slightly reminds me of Archives of Us in Chinatown. The interior is a little bit too small to stay for an extended period of time (just one table and one bench). There's a small outdoor patio area to make up for the small interior space. [Menu]: The Yelp's top 3 highlighted drinks are Black Sesame Coffee, Marble Latte, and Matcha Latte. They also sell baked goods like canelé. *** Black Sesame Coffee (fine robusta espresso w condensed milk, black sesame cream 9 oz - $6.00): The drink was solid, but I wouldn't say it was all that amazing. *** If you are a fan of strong coffee then Re Ca Phe is definitely worth a stop, but expect some of coffee to be served in a small cup (9 oz) instead of 12 oz cup. read more
Re Ca Phe is well known for their creative matcha drinks but don't be mistaken- their coffee is not to be missed out on. The menu offers a fair selection of both matcha and coffee options as well as some coffee beans and matcha tins for sale. The interior is cozy and intimate. There is a small section of patio outside off to the side. The workers were working very hard and meticulously. By the time they tended to us, they were thankful for our patience. They were so nice and friendly. Espresso tonic - this is a textbook espresso tonic. The coffee was smooth and the orange citrus twist adds such a refreshing juicy finish. Earl grey matcha latte - This is definitely on my list of top matcha lattes I've ever had. The earl grey foam is so addictive. The matcha is slightly sweet with an earthy undertone. The two flavors compete with each sip with the earl grey slightly overpowering but not in a bad way. I know this is a seasonal drink but this needs to be included in their year round selection ASAP. Its so good. Re Ca Phe is a great option for both matcha and coffee lovers alike. Their creative take on drinks and high quality coffee truly makes them stand out above the rest. read more
This cafe is legit and is a great shop in OC. For its high ratings, I am surprised it was not more crowded. We stopped in on a weekday mid morning and did not have to wait to order. We had a large order and had to wait a little bit for all of the drinks, but it was worth it. The cost is not much higher than visiting other chain coffee shops. This cafe offered nice indoor and outdoor seating and was much more quiet than some other cafes. It was also very clean and relaxing. I recommend stopping in and soak up the relaxingf you are in the area. read more

Once inside you are greeted with simple and minimal decor and seating that works well for small groups. I ordered an Earl Grey Matcha and a Vietnamese coffee. The matcha was floral, creamy, and slightly sweet. The Vietnamese coffee came in a smaller size, which I actually appreciated since it is quite strong. There are a handful of tables inside and outside but seems more like a grab and go coffee shop. Matcha was great, didn't try any of their coffee options. Blueberry Oat Milk Matcha -quite creamy from the oat milk. Blueberry lover's dream, pairs well with matcha. Yuzu Matcha Tonic -refreshing and so light, great on a hot day after a heavy meal. We were on the hunt for the best matcha in OC. There are two categories for matcha in my book: 1) double matcha/matcha with cream top 2) matcha combined with other creative flavors. Re Ca Phe excel in the 2nd category! The are know for their coffee drink in addition to a variety of unique matcha drinks. It was really hard for me to pick only two drinks for us to share. I could have ordered 3 here, but we were on a matcha tour today and I can only have so much caffeine and my bladder can only take so much at once. DRINKS: We decided on drinks that we've never seen served somewhere else. - Guava tonic matcha: this combines the 3 things I love. The matcha nor the guava overpowered one another. In fact, this was the combination I never knew I needed. - Earl Grey: I'm tea lover, so naturally, I had to order this one. When you combine two teas, there is always a fear that one will over power the other, in this case since the base of the drink was a matcha latte with a earl grey cream top, they blended seamlessly together and actually was SO GOOD! SERVICE: Very friendly and quick service! They should display their menu on a screen or somewhere where people in line can see so that the line moves efficiently. The menu is located at the register so indecisive people (like myself) can end up holding up the line. AMBIENCE: Very hipster, clean aesthetics. There are seats inside as well as outside, so plenty of space for sipping and yapping. Verdict: I can't wait to come back and try their other items! read more

Loved the matcha here! They use Rocky's matcha and the blueberry oat matcha we ordered was super creamy and not too sweet. The blueberry flavor complimented the strong matcha flavor really well. There is a good amount of seating inside this cafe as well if you want to do work, and there's also seating outside as well. All of the decor is super cute and modern as well. Service was super nice and our drinks came out quick! read more
I love the aesthetic of Re Ca Phe, there's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and the overall atmosphere is really cool. I got the matcha latte for my girlfriend and the blueberry oat milk matcha latte for myself after seeing many people say it's one of the best in OC. In my opinion, it is good, but maybe not the best. The matcha was pretty good overall, regardless of my opinion on the blueberry aspect. I'd definitely recommend the matcha options here for genuine matcha enthusiasts in the OC area, even if I haven't tried all of the other options. Black sesame latte was life-changing. It is like an espresso latte though, because it's kinda small for $6 but super rich and thick like a cold foam. Cute cafe with lots of windows. Smells delicious. Took a while to make the drink, but worth it! read more
overall: I think Re Ca Phe has some of the best blueberry matcha I've had in OC. I'd come back to try some of their drinks and get the blueberry matcha again. drinks: we got the black sesame matcha latte and the blueberry oat milk matcha latte. the black sesame and matcha didn't quite pair well together. i felt the black sesame covered up the matcha flavor. the blueberry matcha was so good omg. the matcha was strong and paired well with the blueberry, not too sweet! service: i went on a saturday afternoon and there was a line out the door but it was worth the wait. the staff are friendly and the drinks come out at a decent time. ambiance: there is indoor and outdoor seating but it can get hard to get seating inside cuz of how busy it gets on weekends. tons of free parking in the plaza. read more
Placed the order online for blueberry oatmilk matcha and Matchiato. Order was ready when we arrived 10 minutes later. I didn't realize that we received the wrong drink for the blueberry matcha until we were already back on 405. I was looking forward to trying the blueberry matcha so that was a bummer. My travel companion had already drunken half of the cup so I felt like it made no sense to go back and get the correct drink. The Matchiato was ordered with reduced sugar so the flavor came through strongly. I enjoyed the earthy flavor and the nice mouthfeel. It had a pretty strong briskness left in my mouth afterwards. For once I wanted something sweet to down this very delicious drink. I wouldn't mind returning again in the future as the location is convenient and my drink was well crafted. The shopping center has a supercharger station and also a breakfast diner and a bakery right in the same area. Parking is plenty and free in front of the cafe. Small, but mighty! The portion size seems small, but it really is quality over quantity. Every sip counts! You won't be disappointed. The coffee is robust, bold, fragrant, good sweetness, nuttiness and hints of saltiness, if called for. Top 3 for coffees. -marble latte: coffee marbled with milk and condensed milk! -black sesame coffee: sesame cream on top. Nutty. -sea salt coffee: a little sweet and a little salty! Blueberry oat matcha latte: good matcha with fragrant blueberry tones. Good balance of sweetness. One of my faves Seasonal menus are fun too! We've been to many coffee shop and continue to circle back here! Re Ca Phe is solid and our Go-To. Enjoy! The service is pretty good It's warm and comforting, and I asked him for any recommendations, and he gave me a lot, even his own personal recommendation. I had the blueberry matcha that this place is known for on social media, and I have to say that it's all right, honestly, I was hoping it to be better because on social media everyone was saying that it was really good, but it was really just okay matcha latte. The space inside is pretty crowded, so if you show up, good luck finding seats, especially if you need a table, but they also have outside tables, but it's usually hot in that area so do what you will read more

Just to confirm, is sales tax already included in the menu price?
Hi there, we don’t charge sales tax for to-go coffee at our shop (it is not required under California rules), so tax is not included!
Is the matcha powder used purchasable?
If I'm remembering correctly, I saw that they were selling Rocky's Matcha, the one in the blue tin! Not sure if that's what they use but the tins are on the right hand side on the wall from the cashier
