Honestly, this is truly such a great place to stop by get a tea or pastry. Love the drinks and love the food. Although I mainly go for tea right now and my family likes the food and sometimes coffee drinks. The pastries are really quite tasty. They have great coffee sticks which I might try next time too. I was driving from Newport to Huntington Beach and came across this location in Costa Mesa. The store is a little hidden from the main road and not very spacious. But the drinks and customer service were great as always. I went in wanting to try something new, but defaulted as always to my longtime favorite Ice Mint Mojito. Phil Jaber founded Philz Coffee in 2003 and spent years experimenting with various coffee beans from around the world to create over 30 different unique blends. Each "cup of love" is custom made in front of you and finished off with their signature mint leave. The Philz baristas make sure your drink is to your liking before you pay. Great coffee, but parking can be challenging if you are in a rush. My orders have mostly been great, though one time my mint mojito was bitter because the sugar at the bottom had not been stirred. Store feels more retail than a coffee shop. There is a lot going on in terms of visuals, but it is very bright. Parking lot is small and limited though there is a structure for validated parking. Only service animals are allowed in, and they have outdoor seating that is nice on a dry day. There are no dog treats at this location either. read more

They are kind, welcoming, and very helpful. This branch was not the same. The baristas were short, they didn't give eye contact when interacting with their customers. For my first time I decided on trying their iced oatmeal cookie coffee and it was perfect. I asked for their lowest possible sweetness and it was just right. Also tried their egg bites and they are so much better than the ones from Starbucks. The only downside was that it was a bit of a longer wait time to get my drinks-but it was a busy Friday morning around 7:45 am. Really good coffee. Really good service. But really pathetic seating for someone in a wheelchair. It's just facts. All of your stools sit way higher than a wheelchair would sit. So try sitting at a lower level like a wheelchair to get an idea and see if you're comfortable. Your tables come up to my chest. I feel like a little kid at the adult table at Thanksgiving. It's not. I would really like to sit inside and enjoy my beverage, but I can't. But good coffee. The fix is so simple. Sure, there are lowered tables outside. But sometimes the weather isn't good to sit outside. If you could get a table like one of the outside tables, that is the same level on the inside, there's your solution. Plus, you get a complimentary upgrade when you download the app for the first time, and you can start earning rewards right away. They also rotate seasonal drinks. I'm still hoping they bring back the Spiced Vanilla Soul--I tried it here and it was so good: smooth cold brew topped with little bits of cinnamon. I also remember getting a burrito here. Spacious interior with plenty of seating. Outdoor patio right across the street from South Coast Plaza. Huge parking structure with 2 hour validation! Passcode for the restroom is posted by the register, and the employee will validate for you up there as well. Also, this location is hands down quicker at getting their drinks out than the fullerton location due to a larger format with more staff members working, which is a plus! Lately Starbucks just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I like a deeply roasted coffee taste. Philz steps in as a very good option. I usually like to hit up moms and pops but have added Philz to my coffee rotation. I like the Philtered Soul which has hints of hazelnut maple and caramel, unsweetened, and medium cream. I have to admit, I need to branch out and try other coffees on their menu. When something is already so perfect, it's hard for me to try something else I order by app and pick it up before 7:00am so parking is not an issue. We went for a coffee stop after a morning workout. The parking lot is fairly small and half of it is a one way street. It wasn't super crowded inside and we were able to order as soon as we were ready. They have a decent amount of options and flavor combinations available. We tried the Nutty Caramel Nirvana and a Mocha Tesora to drink and ordered a breakfast burrito to go with it. The service was very average, there wasn't much conversation and they weren't really helpful when we asked questions. More specifically, when we ordered we asked for a breakfast burrito (not realizing that there was more than one option) and the person at the register asked which one and when we asked what kind they had she just looked in the general direction of one of the display cases and didn't say anything. Not the worst interaction, but the experience could've been better if she had taken the time to help us. The burrito turned out to also be very okay. It was only a little bit bigger than the packet of Cholula that came with it and did not have a lot of contents in it. The drinks were also very average. The coffee flavor was not very strong and the add ins didn't offer much of an improvement. It was very difficult to taste any of the flavors/ingredients that were supposed to be added to the drinks. This could've been my fault, but by the time we finished the Nutty Caramel Nirvana, there was just one large mound of cinnamon that wasn't very pleasant to consume at the end. read more

I walked here from the hotel. Safe and walkable area. It's Halloween, so has been fun seeing people's costumes! I had the gingerbread latte, hot. So delicious and better than pumpkin anything!
