Daydrift is hype appropriate!! Unfortunately the matcha isn't super rich in some drinks, but the wide variety of flavor combinations and cream tops available make their drinks SO delicious! My personal favorites of our drinks in order were: banana pudding, pandan and then strawberry yuzu. Each were yummy in their own ways but there is a reason that the banana pudding matcha is their best seller (and I don't even like banana). Just heads up that the fruitier flavors may overpower the matcha. The edible flowers are the cutest touch here! 4.5 stars rounded up to a 5.
Yet another beautiful coffee shop in Costa Mesa! Located in The CAMP, Daydrift is a super aesthetic spot serving up gorgeous matcha and coffee. Seriously, every drink is so meticulously prepared with the cutest toppings! We got their Strawberry Yuzu Matcha Latte and Drift Cream Coffee. I haven't seen the strawberry and yuzu combo often. It was really bright and paired well with the solid matcha! Their Drift Cream Coffee was creamy, not-too-sweet, and hit all the right notes. Love!
I saw so many artsy beautiful photos of the matchas here and book-marked it for a while, and finally made it last month to check it out myself. They replaced Honey&Milk that was here in the past. Didn't do much to interior change but the drinks are pleasing on the eyes. I feel like the owner of this place but love art and was able to open a matcha shop with such beautiful creation for their drinks. I do appreciate the work and effort that was put into making it drinks. Thanks to that, lines are pretty long during peak hours.. My friend and I stopped by on an early Sunday morning before the rush, and there was no line. I got the Hojicha Matcha and my friend got the pandan matcha. Both were very instagram-worthy. Very pretty. Taste wise, it was good. Since matcha cream-top becomes such a thing now in the recent years, most places offer cream top (I mean, even Starbucks has it on their regular menu now, talk about the influence), and I've had soooo many different coffee and matcha with different cream top that, to sum it up, there's only 3 level. Good, average, and bad. If places use good ceremonial grade matcha, and use the right ratio of milk/water/to matcha, the matcha can be pretty consistent, no matter what kind of ceremonial grade "brand" it is. Because if they get it from Japan at the Matcha capital (Uji), there are different names but basically they harvest and process the powder very consistent to the method. Anyway, in short, the matcha latter part here with oatmilk was good. it was between average to good. What sets most places apart now is also the cream top. The cream-top here is also good. So, that makes this place overall, Good. So, def rec. Though, I gotta stop trying all these matcha with cream-top places now because even if non-dairy cream foam top, you know how much calories are in them????? It's crazy!

I got the Banana Pudding Matcha, and it was really good! I was a little skeptical at first because I wasn't sure how banana pudding in a matcha would taste. They actually put real banana pudding in the drink, and I was pleasantly surprised, It was really good. It's definitely on the sweeter side, so don't count the calories with this one, just enjoy it. It was also under $8. The drink came with a yummy cookie as decoration. The service was great. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful. Since it was my first time here, I asked for a recommendation, and she suggested the Banana Pudding Matcha, saying it was one of their most popular drinks. I'm glad I took her advice. The coffee shop itself is very small it's more of a grab-and-go spot. There are only a couple of tables available (like 4 if I don't recall wrong) so I wouldn't count on finding seating. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restrooms were pretty dirty when I visited. They definitely need to be cleaned more often. Maybe I just happened to go in at a bad time, but it did affect my overall experience.

There is some seating available, but it's better suited for small groups of 2-3 people rather than studying or hanging out for long periods of time. I got the pandan matcha and really enjoyed it. The texture was smooth and not grainy at all, and the sweetness level was balanced perfectly. Neither the pandan nor the matcha overpowered each other, which I appreciated. I personally would've liked the matcha flavor to be a little stronger, but you could still definitely taste it. Overall, a really solid drink and I'd come back to try more from their menu.
There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors for cute photos. There's also plenty of parking around the area since it's right next to The Camps. I'm ngl, the drinks look better than they taste. It was pretty overhyped on social media so I'm a tad disappointed. Both the drinks tasted watered down.($7.50 each). The service was ok. This place isn't bad but are there better options for the same price? Yes. The store is aesthetic though :)
Unfortunately, while the service was nice and there was almost no wait, my mugwort latte was made with whole milk instead of the oat milk I substituted for. I had told the cashier that I'm lactose intolerant but I'm assuming someone slipped the oat milk note on the cup. Definitely ruined my evening and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone sensitive to cheap whole milk. I can usually handle whole milk from Strauss and Alexandre but this was generic gallon whole milk. I also found the matcha and mugwort to be on the weaker side and this is definitely more of a dessert store than a serious matcha store like Chafinity. Drink at your own risk. Parking at the CAMP is horrific as usual.
When taste meets aesthetic. I ordered the mugwort matcha and it was delicious. Not too sweet, the matcha flavor actually came through, and I loved the cute little topping decor. I heard people complain about the parking and can definitely see how it could be an issue, but I came midday on a Monday and somehow scored front row parking with no line. Must've been my lucky day. Evelyn was so sweet and answered all of my questions about the menu. The inside setup felt chill and intentional, and there was also a cozy outdoor patio area that would be perfect for hanging out with friends or getting a little work done.
Great new drink spot. I got the hojicha with matcha foam and my sister grabbed the pandan matcha. Both are delicious and we would like to come back and try the other drinks. Small space with cozy seating. We came on a weekday so easy parking and small line. Please come and create your own adventure.

It's got this earthy, slightly grainy base topped with a cloud of sweet pandan foam. I really like the flavor of mugwort, even though it overpowers the matcha. Service was quick, but I actually wouldn't mind waiting a little longer if they took that extra time to thoroughly mix and dissolve the matcha powder. I think this would help create a smoother mouthfeel and remove visible matcha clumps. The shop is still pretty new, so there's definitely room for improvement!

Workers are friendly and made our drinks fast! They are yummy! There's a covered seatinf are right outside. No bathrooms I believe. There's some parking out front but your best bet is to park around The Camp or The LAB and make a day of it!!

I really enjoyed the Mugwort Matcha from here. I will admit that the name threw me off a little at first, but the cashier assured me that it's a very good drink. She was right! I appreciated how nicely the matcha and the pandan flavorings coexisted with one another, since neither one overpowered the other. While the inside seating is a little limited, I was able to study outside perfectly fine! read more
Cute little coffee shop Small parking lot but there's good amount of spots. There's some seating but more of a grab and go. There were 2 girly pops working that were super sweet and got our drinks out fast. Always on the hunt for delicious banana coffee and this one was a HIT they used REAL BANANAS lots of fun signature drinks. read more

A cute coffee shop located at the CAMP! I usually opt for this place while I'm in Costa Mesa, mostly because I am obsessed with their drinks. Everything that I've tried here was amazing- drift cream coffee, strawberry matcha, banana pudding matcha, and their pandan matcha. The service is always really nice here- they're very attentive about add ons, milk substitutes, etc. Unfortunately, the space inside is really tight and small, but there is an outdoor patio seating area! The parking here is pretty cramp as well- very hard to find parking on weekends! Nevertheless, I would always come back here when I have the chance. read more
Daydrift is one of those places I can't believe I didn't notice sooner, especially since it's so close to The Camp. It's tucked away in the corner with a few other food spots, and while parking in the front is a bit limited, there's actually plenty of space in the back which makes it much easier than it looks at first. Inside is a bit on the smaller side, but they do have both indoor and outdoor seating, and honestly the outdoor area was my favorite. It has a more open, relaxed feel that makes it really nice to sit and hang out. The worker was super friendly, which made the experience even better. I got the Mugwort Matcha Duo, and I'll admit the name "mugwort" threw me off at first and caught me by surprise. But it turns out it's paired with pandan cream top and butterfly pea, which made it a lot less intimidating than it sounds. I also got the banana pudding, but forgot to take a picture of it lol. The banana pudding was good, just a bit on the sweeter side for my preference. The drink itself was really well done. The pandan cream top was light and smooth, which let both the matcha and pandan come through without either one overpowering the other. The combination felt balanced and interesting, especially with the butterfly pea adding a subtle twist in flavor and color. It's one of those drinks that feels a bit unique without being too overwhelming. I'd definitely come back again to try their other drinks since the menu looks like it has a lot of creative options worth exploring. read more
I came here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon, and it was super busy! Parking was nearly impossible to find because Daydrift is located in a pretty popular plaza with plenty of other stores, but we managed to make it work. The store itself was small and the line was out the door when we got there. We placed our order and waited outside because they only had a couple tables. There was a little outdoor area connected to it, but there were only 2 tables. It took about ~15 mins for two drinks, but I expected that because of how long the line was. Mugwort matcha (8/10) - Matcha flavor was very strong, but I could still taste the mugwort flavoring. Very yummy and pretty to look at! I would totally get this again. Pandan matcha latte (8.75/10) - My friend got this and loved it. I took a sip and honestly preferred it over my own drink, and I would be down to get this next time. Overall, a cute store with good drinks, but the parking situation was bad and wait can be a little long. read more
Bumped into this place in the LAB plaza since another matcha cafe was closed so we came in to give it a shot :3 **ORDERED Hojicha Matcha $7.50 Creamy hojicha latte with the matcha foam on top certainly hit my caffeine level loved the creaminess of the 2 mixed together Pandan Matcha $7.50 My friend ordered it since she loves Pandan and it did not disappoint! Matcha was creamy and the Pandan coconut flavor was just the right balance **PEOPLE When we came in, they seemed to have a problem displaying the menu on the big display screen so we just pulled it up on yelp ;) cashier was very welcoming and patient with us as we decided between the variety of matcha choices **VIBES The cafe itself was small but they do have outdoor seating area that was enclosed which looked really beautiful. The ambience was the vintage beach drift sort of vibe which gave a sense of calm! Overall: I would for sure come back to try the other matchas as they have so many different kinds! read more

Daydrift is a cutesy little cafe tucked in the corner of a busy plaza. Parking is definitely ridiculous, especially after noon. However, I really enjoy their banana pudding matcha so I don't mind circling around the parking lot a couple times. Every time I've stopped in, the staff is so sweet and generally quick to make their lattes. I can't speak for their other drinks, as I really only come here for the banana pudding matcha since it's one of my favorite dessert lattes right now. The matcha is smooth and honestly gets overshadowed by the housemade banana pudding, but I like that strong banana flavor. Also when the cookie melts in and you taste little cookie chunks... I love it. I recommend giving it a try at least once. Get your banana pudding matcha then stroll through The Camp or hang out at their little outdoor seating area. read more
Arrived here on a Thursday early afternoon. It wasn't busy and so I thought I would get my drink fairly soon. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes to get one drink. I had to keep checking. They did not announce the order numbers either. Loved the pandan matcha latte. It had a nice earthy taste and the matcha had a bright green color. You can really taste the pandan flavoring too. I probably wouldn't come here again, only because the customer service was okay. And the parking lot is extremely small. read more

This coffee cafe is located in The Camp in Costa Mesa! So depending on when you go, parking can be especially tricky in the evening (during busy hours). The staff was helpful in recommending drinks for me to pick. Ordered the following: - Matcha Latte with vanilla syrup - Pandan Matcha Latte - Banana Pudding Matcha Latte The cafe is cutely designed with lots of greenery! Drink: I ordered the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. It was a unique and refreshing combination, though I found the matcha flavor itself to be a bit mild and not as strong as I expected. It is good, but not mind-blowing. The presentation was beautiful. The matcha was topped with the cutest decorations. Service: The staff were nice. Wait Time: I came in around 4 PM on a weekday and waited around 15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for my drink. Ambience: Cute but very small shop, with limited seating. Can get very crowded. Parking: Parking can be a pain. The entrance to The CAMP is usually crowded, and the parking area feels small, especially during busy hours. read more
Daydrift is a newer matcha spot located at The Camp with some unique Asian-inspired drinks. Parking here can definitely be a challenge, but really depends on the day and time in which you come. Inside, the shop is on the smaller side with a majority of its seating options outside on their patio area. For their menu, they have some unique drink options to choose from. Wifey and I stopped by for our weekend matcha run and opted to try the Pandan Coconut Mizu Matcha and the Mugwort Matcha Duo. Both drinks had interesting flavor profiles with beautiful presentation. All of the staff here are chill and welcoming. We will be back forsure to try some of their other drink options! read more

First time here! I tried the pandan matcha and customized it with the pandan butterfly cream on top because I wanted to try the blue-colored foam. I also got the strawberry yuzu matcha latte. The location was a little tricky to find- it's right next to the Chevron gas station. Service was quick and efficient. The space is small but has a nice vibe, with a bit of outdoor seating. I loved both drinks and definitely want to come back to try more! read more
I kept seeing tiktok's about this place so I decided to check it out! it's a SUPER small cafe but definitely popular because the line was out the door! I would recommend going early as they ran out of a drink I wanted to try but I got the strawberry matcha which was presented very beautifully and tasted great. would definitely go back to try the other drinks, especially the midnight matcha read more

I came here on a weekend and it was hard to find parking. The line was short to order and the seats were filled. The shop is small inside with a patio seating. I got the strawberry yuzu matcha with oat milk and the hojicha matcha. The matcha flavor was really light and milky. Same for the hojicha drink as well. If you are a fan of strong matcha drinks, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The drinks are in lighter in flavor but they look nice for pictures. read more
I visited Daydrift Matcha this past Saturday afternoon and tried the Pandan Matcha and the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. Both drinks looked really pretty, but the taste was a bit underwhelming for me. I think social media set my expectations really high, and I could barely taste the matcha in either drink. The pandan drink leaned on the sweeter side and the pandan flavor was stronger than the matcha. The strawberry yuzu tasted more like yuzu with some tartness from the strawberry, and I was not the biggest fan of the chunky pieces in the drink. They also add an herb garnish on top, which I personally did not enjoy, so next time I would ask for it without that. Parking was also difficult when we came, probably because it was a Saturday afternoon, and that made the visit a little stressful. The shop itself is cute and I like the concept, but I am not sure I would go out of my way to come back. I might give it another try and order something different, but for now I feel like there are better matcha spots around. read more

The drinks here are so pretty but unfortunately the actual taste of the drinks are just okay. We felt like they were lacking the matcha flavor and just felt pretty reliant on the sweeteners and toppings. It definitely wasn't bad, just not for us! read more
A semi decent matcha spot. I think it's a little over hyped. The matcha itself was mid quality. I've definitely had a lot better. The syrups had an odd flavor to them that i cant quite put my finger on. I would rate the matcha a 4/10. The matcha flavor really fell short, it was masked too much by the milk. The cashier was kind. The parking isn't the best in the area, I had to make a few laps before a spot finally opened up. The inside was very crowded, all of the tables were full. read more
Located in The Camp, Daydrift Coffee fits right into the aesthetic atmosphere of the plaza. I came here on Valentine's Day to see what all the buzz was from Tiktok, and I was sadly disappointed. We ordered the strawberry yuzu matcha latte and the banana pudding matcha. Both didn't taste too strongly of matcha and was dominated by the milk, tasting more like a sweet milky drink with hints of strawberry. I thought the banana pudding matcha was at least better than the strawberry since it reminded me of banana milk and the pudding itself was pretty good. While the presentation of the drinks is phenomenal and I loved the lil heart they added for Valentine's, the matcha was a letdown. I'm curious to know if their coffee tastes better. Good luck finding parking if you visit during a busy time... we had to park near The Lab (another strip mall with similar vibes) and cross the street to get here. Overall, I would skip on the matcha here unless you want nice pictures. read more
I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a long line already, but oh my it was so worth it! I got the Mugwort matcha, it was very refreshing and you can taste both the mugwort and the matcha. The creme on top was delicious as well! Also got the strawberry yuzu matcha and it has real strawberry puree at the bottom with the yuzu pulp/chunks. This place is so cute! There's ample indoor and outdoor seating, so a good place to catch up with friends and chat! The parking lot tho do be kinda tight since it's near the popular anti-mall. Love the strawberry and yuzu combination paired with matcha, it's not something you usually see everyday. There was a bit of a wait, but I'm assuming it's cuz they hand whisk the matcha in the back. read more
