First stop of my birthday day was Daydrift in Costa Mesa, which my wife took me to for some matcha, and I gotta say right off the bat, these drinks are stunning. Like top notch aesthetics. Mine had this little orange peel sitting on the cream that was kinda dripping down the side, and the matcha powder had a little decoration dusted on top. Just a solid ten out of ten on looks. The spot itself has a nice aesthetic too, and the staff were super sweet, gave us some recommendations on what to try. There's not a ton of seating but there's a few tables here and there if you wanna post up and hang for a bit. Parking though, that can be a headache for sure. I ended up getting the strawberry juju matcha latte and my wife got the regular vanilla matcha latte, and honestly, this is where it kinda fell apart for us. Neither of us were really impressed with the flavor. Mine wasn't sweet at all, it actually leaned more bitter, which surprised me because of how much strawberry puree was packed in there. I was expecting a real strawberry punch and instead it just tasted like a milky watered down light strawberry milk kinda thing. It completely fell short, especially when the drink looks THAT good. You build up these high expectations off the aesthetics and then the flavor just isn't there. My wife's vanilla was a little better, it had some decent milky balanced matcha vanilla thing going on, but it still just didn't hit. We've had thousands and thousands of matchas at this point so we know what we're looking for, and this just wasn't it. I really think the problem was how pretty they were, cause we expected the flavor to match that same energy and it just didn't come close. Gorgeous drinks, flavor needs some work.
Came here with my daughter and her friend and they wanted to try this place out and it was very good. They tried the drink here, they ordered banana pudding matcha and pandan blu mylk. It was good drinks. Service here, the girl was taking my daughter order was very nice and quick also she was well presented. Ambience here it pretty small place in here. Has a couple of chairs and little tables. The only thing I don't like is the parking it's not much parking to get in and out and this place is in the corner of the plaza and it was hard to find a parking. They got also sitting outside a small section of it.
Daydrift had caught my attention for quite a while with their beautiful lattes adorned with vibrant flowers and elegant dehydrated fruit garnishes. This afternoon, I decided to take my laptop and perch there for a couple of hours to try one of their matcha lattes. The cafe is located in a corner of The Camp plaza in Costa Mesa. Parking on a Friday afternoon was such a headache that I decided to valet for $5. In this modern plaza, the branches and vines that twist through Daydrift's trellises make this verdant oasis stand out amidst the monolithic retail units that surround it. Although there are only a few tables available, I was able to snag one. Sitting in the patio area was quite nice. There is also wifi and a bathroom available. The workers are very nice. I wanted something a little less sweet, so they recommended the pandan matcha. I got that with oat milk. My sister got the pandan blue milk. Although the drinks are visually stunning, their flavor leaves a bit to be desired for me. Even though I substituted dairy for oat milk, my latte was still too milky for my tastes and the matcha flavor was not strong enough. I am also not the biggest fan of the flavor of the pandan extract (or however they are adding the pandan flavor) as it tasted a bit too grassy for me. I have the same comment for the blue pandan milk. I'm glad I gave this place a try, but I believe that there are better places to get matcha in Orange County.
I've seen this on instagram and just so happen to be next to it so I came in. I ordered the Drift Cream Coffee which was their version of a Vietnamese iced coffee. I loved the taste, perfect amount of sweetness, and the presentation of it was pretty. I also had the Ube rice crispy treat which was good but seemed expensive given the size of it. There was a steady flow of traffic coming in the late afternoon, however, I didn't love the seating options. I'm sure it's for their aesthetic, but lawn chairs and a small bar top to sit at was not my favorite thing.
I really enjoy their cream tops and that's coming from someone who's usually not a fan of them. My main qualm with cream tops is they are typically too creamy and sweet and overpoweringly vanilla-y. I like daydrifts' because the unique asian insoired flavors still come through but are still refreshing and not overly sweet. My favorite so far has been the mugwort but the hojicha matcha is a close second. I'd recommend taking a light sip of the cream top and then mixing the whole drink together.
Wow I actually enjoyed this place! Yelp had an event at The Camp for Yoga and afterwards I wanted to find a spot for some tasty matcha! I was torn between and Chafinity but decided to go with trendy and aesthetics. Glad I did. I totally enjoyed it! They had some great selections for matcha and coffee. I asked what they recommend and I wanted something sweeter so I went with the Banana Matcha. It was sweet and had the perfect caramelized banana and so cutely garnished! They had some seating indoors and outdoor seating but they were all full by 1030am on a Friday! Kinda crazy but at least The Camp has lots of nooks with seating. Enjoyed the matcha! Definitely will come back if I'm in the area to try other items! They also had this delicious looking cookie! I was so tempted!
So glad we found this place!! We were browsing at the shops nearby and happened to past by. The space is so cute and nicely decorated. The star of their menu is definitely their matcha selection but they also sell coffee and a few dessert treats like banana pudding, cookies, etc. There's some seats inside and also inconsistent they small outdoor space. While the seats are not very comfortable, the place is great for photos! My friend and I got the guava strawberry matcha and the banana pudding matcha. Both were super good! The guava strawberry matcha is so refreshing and sweet, but not overly. The banana pudding matcha is really creamy and comes with biscoff crumbles! Plenty of parking spaces!
Yet another beautiful coffee shop in Costa Mesa! Located in The CAMP, Daydrift is a super aesthetic spot serving up gorgeous matcha and coffee. Seriously, every drink is so meticulously prepared with the cutest toppings! We got their Strawberry Yuzu Matcha Latte and Drift Cream Coffee. I haven't seen the strawberry and yuzu combo often. It was really bright and paired well with the solid matcha! Their Drift Cream Coffee was creamy, not-too-sweet, and hit all the right notes. Love!
I saw so many artsy beautiful photos of the matchas here and book-marked it for a while, and finally made it last month to check it out myself. They replaced Honey&Milk that was here in the past. Didn't do much to interior change but the drinks are pleasing on the eyes. I feel like the owner of this place but love art and was able to open a matcha shop with such beautiful creation for their drinks. I do appreciate the work and effort that was put into making it drinks. Thanks to that, lines are pretty long during peak hours.. My friend and I stopped by on an early Sunday morning before the rush, and there was no line. I got the Hojicha Matcha and my friend got the pandan matcha. Both were very instagram-worthy. Very pretty. Taste wise, it was good. Since matcha cream-top becomes such a thing now in the recent years, most places offer cream top (I mean, even Starbucks has it on their regular menu now, talk about the influence), and I've had soooo many different coffee and matcha with different cream top that, to sum it up, there's only 3 level. Good, average, and bad. If places use good ceremonial grade matcha, and use the right ratio of milk/water/to matcha, the matcha can be pretty consistent, no matter what kind of ceremonial grade "brand" it is. Because if they get it from Japan at the Matcha capital (Uji), there are different names but basically they harvest and process the powder very consistent to the method. Anyway, in short, the matcha latter part here with oatmilk was good. it was between average to good. What sets most places apart now is also the cream top. The cream-top here is also good. So, that makes this place overall, Good. So, def rec. Though, I gotta stop trying all these matcha with cream-top places now because even if non-dairy cream foam top, you know how much calories are in them????? It's crazy!
I don't usually write reviews for cafe but I loved the drinks here! First of all it's super cute and while there's only a bit of seating they're all pretty nice spots. I got the Pandan blue milk which was sweet but hit the spot. We also had the drift cream coffee which was strong but also sweet. I do hear good things about the matcha here too!
I got the Banana Pudding Matcha, and it was really good! I was a little skeptical at first because I wasn't sure how banana pudding in a matcha would taste. They actually put real banana pudding in the drink, and I was pleasantly surprised, It was really good. It's definitely on the sweeter side, so don't count the calories with this one, just enjoy it. It was also under $8. The drink came with a yummy cookie as decoration. The service was great. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful. Since it was my first time here, I asked for a recommendation, and she suggested the Banana Pudding Matcha, saying it was one of their most popular drinks. I'm glad I took her advice. The coffee shop itself is very small it's more of a grab-and-go spot. There are only a couple of tables available (like 4 if I don't recall wrong) so I wouldn't count on finding seating. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restrooms were pretty dirty when I visited. They definitely need to be cleaned more often. Maybe I just happened to go in at a bad time, but it did affect my overall experience.
Cute little coffee shop Small parking lot but there's good amount of spots. There's some seating but more of a grab and go. There were 2 girly pops working that were super sweet and got our drinks out fast. Always on the hunt for delicious banana coffee and this one was a HIT they used REAL BANANAS lots of fun signature drinks.
Daydrift is hype appropriate!! Unfortunately the matcha isn't super rich in some drinks, but the wide variety of flavor combinations and cream tops available make their drinks SO delicious! My personal favorites of our drinks in order were: banana pudding, pandan and then strawberry yuzu. Each were yummy in their own ways but there is a reason that the banana pudding matcha is their best seller (and I don't even like banana). Just heads up that the fruitier flavors may overpower the matcha. The edible flowers are the cutest touch here! 4.5 stars rounded up to a 5.

I came here on a weekend and it was hard to find parking. The line was short to order and the seats were filled. The shop is small inside with a patio seating. I got the strawberry yuzu matcha with oat milk and the hojicha matcha. The matcha flavor was really light and milky. Same for the hojicha drink as well. If you are a fan of strong matcha drinks, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The drinks are in lighter in flavor but they look nice for pictures. read more

Found this popping spot on social media so we had to check it out. It's located in the Camp of Costa Mesa, few stores down from The Taco Stand. When we arrived on Saturday, it was quite busy. We only waited for about 15 mins top. Seating is very limited, but they do have a nice cozy outside area with plants providing shade. We ordered their Banana Matcha Einspanner, and the Drift Coffee, both a 4/5. The presentation is beautiful and the flavor profile is good. I like how they use real banana and not powdered, but the drink was a little bit too sweet for me. The Drift coffee was good, but a lil too smoky and earthy. I saw a lot of people ordering matcha, so probably get that next to try. read more
I heard all about the craze of Daydrift on social media, so I decided to check it out. The shop use to be Milk & Honey, before the owner decided to change it to Daydrift. Matcha is all the craze now. I actually walked, after eating nearby from a restaurant. I didn't have to deal with the horrible parking at The Camp. Luckily when I went, there was no line at all. It was around 1 pm on a Friday, but I'm not sure about now. This was a week, after their soft opening. The worker was friendly and asked us about our day. I decided to go with the strawberry yuzu matcha latte, and my boyfriend got the pandan coconut matcha latte. There's about 2 tables inside, and about 3 more tables outside. However, space is tight inside the shop. Finding a spot to stand inside the shop can be tough, when it gets busy. It did take awhile to make the drinks, but I didn't mind the wait. Plus, the shop is still in their soft opening. After we ordered, a rush of people came in. Once we got our drinks, I did notice something. On my drink, there were clumps of matcha which I found odd. I'm not sure if it was an aesthetic thing, or the worker just didn't properly mix it. This also made my drink taste a bit gritty. I had to mix all the matcha bits, before I took a sip of my drink. There was hints of yuzu in the drink, which was nice. However once I mixed everything, all I tasted was the strawberry puree. To be honest, the drinks were pretty sweet. I could barely taste the matcha in my drink. I even ended up saving my drink the next day, and it was still too sweet. My boyfriend actually ended up throwing his drink away, since it wasn't good at all. Prices are also pretty expensive for a drink, being at $7.50. Unfortunately, I fell for the hype of social media again. I do this to myself all the same, and am disappointed each time. Don't fall for the hype. I do not see myself coming back to this shop at all. Drinks are overpriced, and have barely any matcha flavor. Also, parking is rough here. read more

I don't know if I got the wrong drink (I couldn't have, because the girl at the register recommended it as their most popular drink)... This new place blew up on social media, so I had to give it a try. It's located in the CAMP/LAB Anti-Mall, so parking is scarce. The drinks look beautiful, I can't lie. However, when I ordered the Banana Matcha, I didn't expect half the cup to be chunky banana pudding. It's too texturally different for it to be a cohesive drink, in my opinion. The matcha itself was decent though. read more
My girlfriend & I were super excited to try Daydrift as we both appreciate a good matcha. We went during the week with our kiddos to avoid the crowds & were able to get there with ample parking at the camp. Service was wonderful, we were greeted right when we walked in & the girl that helped us was friendly & patient while we looked over the menu. I do appreciate that their syrups are made in house & also they have a detailed description of where they get their matcha from. I ordered the strawberry yuzu matcha half sweet & my friend customized her matcha & got a salted vanilla cream matcha latte. I personally love a matcha latte that isn't overpowered by the syrup/added ingredients & would def recommend getting it half sweet. I also loved the presentation of the drink, it was cute & tasted great! Also super happy to say that there were no clumps of matcha in my drink so it was whisked thoroughly. After so many videos popping on my FYP, I decided to give it a try and boy was I wrong. The Tiramisu Latte tastes like burnt coffee, the only good thing about it is the sweet foam. The service was not it. Ambiance? It needs work. Don't waste $7.50 for a drink, not worth it read more

I wanted to give this new cafe a try, it's located by the camp so parking was a bit difficult especially on a weekend. I ordered the banana pudding matcha and the pudding by itself was pretty good but the banana flavor completely overpowered the matcha. i couldn't taste the matcha flavor at all so it was a bit disappointing read more
I visited Daydrift Matcha this past Saturday afternoon and tried the Pandan Matcha and the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. Both drinks looked really pretty, but the taste was a bit underwhelming for me. I think social media set my expectations really high, and I could barely taste the matcha in either drink. The pandan drink leaned on the sweeter side and the pandan flavor was stronger than the matcha. The strawberry yuzu tasted more like yuzu with some tartness from the strawberry, and I was not the biggest fan of the chunky pieces in the drink. They also add an herb garnish on top, which I personally did not enjoy, so next time I would ask for it without that. Parking was also difficult when we came, probably because it was a Saturday afternoon, and that made the visit a little stressful. The shop itself is cute and I like the concept, but I am not sure I would go out of my way to come back. I might give it another try and order something different, but for now I feel like there are better matcha spots around. read more

Located in The Camp, Daydrift Coffee fits right into the aesthetic atmosphere of the plaza. I came here on Valentine's Day to see what all the buzz was from Tiktok, and I was sadly disappointed. We ordered the strawberry yuzu matcha latte and the banana pudding matcha. Both didn't taste too strongly of matcha and was dominated by the milk, tasting more like a sweet milky drink with hints of strawberry. I thought the banana pudding matcha was at least better than the strawberry since it reminded me of banana milk and the pudding itself was pretty good. While the presentation of the drinks is phenomenal and I loved the lil heart they added for Valentine's, the matcha was a letdown. I'm curious to know if their coffee tastes better. Good luck finding parking if you visit during a busy time... we had to park near The Lab (another strip mall with similar vibes) and cross the street to get here. Overall, I would skip on the matcha here unless you want nice pictures. read more
Yummy cream topped matcha drinks with a bit of a wait bc the tiktok crowd =========== Came by on a weekday afternoon Able to find parking, some spots here and there 6 ppl ahead of me Got two drinks Pandan matcha (half sweet) w/ whole milk Mugwort matcha w/ oat milk $15.50?? I thinkkk the matcha isn't as in your face as airoma, but for a spot minutes away from home, I would come back. Pandan matcha I really like the pandan flavor in here. You can tell they use real pandan cuz it's got a nice floral note all throughout the drink! Light colored and not radioactive. Mugwort matcha Possibly my fav drink between the two. It kind of tastes like an earthy cinnamon or something, but the mugwort plays quite well with the matcha. Didn't reduce the sugar in this one, maybe will do that next time for health. If you're looking for a stronger caffeinated drink, they do have a day drift cream coffee with the Vietnamese phin drip, but they can't really reduce the sugar bc it's premade already (I asked) The cream top they use is so good for both drinks! Maybe my fav cream top in all of oc. Flavorful with a perfect salt amount! Weekday wait for both drinks was 15 min, plus wait to get into the store lol in and out was maybe 25 min.. read more
Super cute and yummy coffee shop! DRINKS were delicious!! I loved the options and finally a place that has coffee + matcha! I got the banana coffee with matcha cream top. SO GREAT. Very sweet, but yummy! I loved the crumble on the top too. The banana pudding matcha was also good and less sweet which was nice. Liz was super nice and helpful. She also got us some water as we waited Not a lot of space in there at all esp when busy, and it was raining outside, so coming into a very small space with it already packed and no ability to go outside was kind of stressful. But I'm sure on a sunny day the patio is beautiful and spacious. read more
This place was super cute. Wish there was more photo ops to take a picture of your drink because the seating was minimal and a group of girls were there for over thirty minutes sitting. But the drinks were good i think they could be more creamy... but I enjoyed how you didn't need to mix the pudding of the banana one in to get banana flavor and could eat that part on its own super concentrated. I will say if the flower gets mixed in and you eat it it's pretty gross so definitely only for aesthetic purposes. The matcha was an amazing color though. Not a big fan of the mugwort one , if you like lavender matcha it's definitely for you. read more
I stopped by Daydrift around 1pm the day after their soft opening and the line wasn't as bad as expected, but it was about a 20-25 min wait. My first impression of the store was how cozy the interior is. If it weren't so busy I could see this spot being really relaxing with the outdoor patio space. The workers here were also really kind and helpful despite how much business they've been getting which I appreciated. The cashier was knowledgeable about the drinks and was able to answer the questions I had. I got the Banana Pudding Matcha, Strawberry Yuzu Matcha, and Banana Pudding. The matcha itself is high quality and they definitely don't skimp. It's disappointing when matcha lattes are too milky and barely taste like matcha, but you can definitely taste the matcha! The taste profile is definitely milder and not too bitter, so it's easier to drink. The matcha to milk ratio was great and I loved how it was JUST milky enough. Now the details of each drink: 1. Banana Pudding Matcha (4/5): Everything about this drink was so good, but there wasn't enough banana pudding on top which was sad because it is SO tasty and had bits of banana in it. There wasn't enough to cover the top in an even layer, so the banana pudding taste was definitely lacking. It's even more important for balance of the drink because the matcha itself is unsweetened and relies on the banana pudding top for the sweetness. The unsweetened matcha is perfect for me though because I prefer my drinks on the less sweet side. If the banana pudding cream top was more substantial, it would've been perfect!! (Note: I was told to mix my drinks well before sipping, but I think they were referencing the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. I tried mixing this one anyway, and it still wasn't banana-y enough.) 2. Strawberry Yuzu Matcha (5/5): This one was definitely sweeter than the Banana Pudding Matcha since the ratio of strawberry puree to the matcha was higher. The matcha itself is unsweetened. This drink is well balanced and had a good strawberry flavor that didn't overpower the matcha. Same goes for the yuzu, which added just a hint of citrus. The cream top added some richness to the drink. Overall this drink was really refreshing for the warm weekend and I could totally see this being one of their best sellers. I think I could've asked for slightly less strawberry puree to reduce the sweetness without taking away from the flavor of the drink since the strawberry taste was strong. 3. Banana Pudding (4.5/5): Tastes just like the pudding on top of the matcha. Rich and creamy, good amount of Nilla wafers. It's a little sweet for me, but it's just preference! I would've loved some more banana slices in it, but this is a really solid dessert. I'd definitely get it again if I was craving something sweet. Overall I had a really good experience here and I'm so happy a GOOD matcha place opened up next to where I workout. It's dangerously close for sure!! read more

I was at the camp for a yelp event and stopped by for a matcha! I've been curious in trying this cafe because the color of the matcha also had me hesitant. Matcha: 4/5 I ordered an iced matcha latte with vanilla sweetener and the salted vanilla cream top. To start, hats off to the beautiful presentation! For sure picture ready! The drink itself was sweetened nicely, the cream top was smooth, but I do wish I'd get more matcha flavor coming through. Atmosphere: 3/5 The interior has very cute decorations but the space was very limited. I felt crammed trying to look at the menu since there was five feet between the front door and ordering counter. There was also limited space to wait for my drink. Service: 3/5 I staff was not welcoming. The barista seemed stressed and the work station was a mess with milk bottles and matcha splatters everywhere. Both employees seemed like they did not want to be there. read more
Daydrift. I been waiting to try this spot out. All their drinks are beautiful. I was just hoping they taste as good as they look Drift cream coffee. It's like a Vietnamese coffee with their cream. It's too strong for me. I love viet coffee but this just didn't do it for me. If it was a bit less strong. I would have liked it Good news. Their pandan matcha latte was so good. Great pandan flavor. Tad sweet but close enough to get me to come back and get this again and try their other drinks. If I didn't like the matcha as much as I do. I would do 4 stars. But I will happily overlook the coffee for the matcha again read more
Daydrift is such a visually appealing spot with drinks that taste just as good as they look. The matcha was very good overall, and my favorite by far was the strawberry matcha. It had a nice balance of sweetness and earthy matcha flavor, and the layers made it both refreshing and fun to drink. My second favorite was the drift cream coffee, which was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The coconut matcha had a very strong coconut flavor that slightly overpowered the matcha for me, so it wasn't my top pick, but if you love coconut you would probably enjoy it. The cafe itself is very aesthetically pleasing, and all the staff members were extremely nice and friendly. It is probably not the best place to sit and study for a long time, but it is definitely a great spot to grab a drink while shopping or walking around. I would come back to try more of their seasonal drinks. read more

I didn't physically go to the shop but my partner did and he said that the place was nice. When he ordered our drinks, he told me that they were too pretty to drink. Come to my surprise when he got back to our hotel room, the drinks still looked as pretty as when he got the drinks. We had the banana matcha and the strawberry matcha. They were so delicious! We got our drinks with oat milk. I would def come back to try their other drinks the next time I'm in town read more

Really loved the banana pudding matcha with the biscoff on top. Yummy sweet treat and the banana balanced the matcha well. Definitely more of a dessert. They also had brown butter cookies that day which were good! The staff were friendly and the wait wasn't long. I didn't go on a Monday afternoon so didn't have to wait in line. The place is pretty small with a few small tables outside. It's located in The Camp so there's parking, but it does tend to get full. Definitely would go back to try their other drinks! read more

A lot of the seating was already claimed by people with laptops :-) the drink selection is unique, I ordered a hojicha & a mugwort duo. 2 drinks with oatmilk substitutes came out to like $16 without tip * The mugwort duo was unfortunately very grainy, but the hojicha was nice! First time here! I tried the pandan matcha and customized it with the pandan butterfly cream on top because I wanted to try the blue-colored foam. I also got the strawberry yuzu matcha latte. The location was a little tricky to find- it's right next to the Chevron gas station. Service was quick and efficient. The space is small but has a nice vibe, with a bit of outdoor seating. I loved both drinks and definitely want to come back to try more! read more
Got there early, right as they opened after seeing the line Daydrift formed the day before, and ordering was quick and drinks were ready not long after. Great garnishes for that picture perfect drink and the flavor combos they have down! The banana coffee with matcha cold foam was a great blend of all flavors mentioned. I will say I came back the next day, and the drink wasn't quite the same as the day before, different garnishes, slightly different taste, etc. but I totally understand a little variety with the newness of the shop and the team still trying to get the flow of everything. Loved the vibe and known for their matcha! They had a ton of matcha flavors for those that are true enthusiasts. I'm more of a coffee fan myself, but all my closest friends are matcha lovers. Daydrift is a newer coffee/tea shop in Costa Mesa. It's located in the Camp, which means parking is tough to get whenever it's busy. I went on opening day, and drinks were getting out fairly slow at first, but as time passed, it was smoother and took maybe 5 minutes to get my order. Surprisingly there's a good amount of seating inside for it being located in the Camp, and it kind of gives off a chill street cafe vibe that you'd find around Asia. I personally got the Pandan blu mylk, as well as the banana coffee matcha creamtop, and my friend got the banana pudding matcha as well as banana pudding. The pandan blue mylk was so good, the pandan was great and the drink overall was the perfect level of sweetness and flavor. The banana coffee matcha creamtop was a bit weak on the matcha, but wasn't bad overall. It was a standard banana coffee with a bit of matcha from the creamtop. The banana pudding matcha was also a bit average, similar to other banana matchas around OC. They're pretty good overall, but not too different from what you'd find elsewhere. Overall would love to recommend Daydrift to anyone that's already at the Camp, as the parking is a factor to take into account in my opinion. I went on a Sunday in the afternoon and there was a little bit of a wait time as the line to order extended out the door. Please keep in mind it's located at CAMP so parking is always busy. After ordering the drinks took 5-10 minutes to come out! I got the drift cream coffee and the cream was very good and it came with what seems like dalgona/toffee crumbs on top. The coffee itself wasn't too sweet but balanced out the cream top. It came without lids on top but they do provide 3 different types when you pick up your drink so you can choose between a sippy lid, a flat lid, or a dome lid. There is seating indoors as well as a little patio with outdoor seating. But since it is still a pretty busy place, finding seating can be hard. read more
This new cafe in the camp is definitely great for an aesthetic picture. While the line might be a bit long, I think it's mainly because it recently opened. They only had one specialty coffee, so of course I got the drift cream coffee. It was bitter at first sip but after mixing in the sweet cold foam it was a good amount of sweetness. I know this place opened early January and instantly went viral, so I finally got the chance to check it out today and the line honestly wasn't bad at all. If I'm not mistaken, this used to be an açai shop. The outdoor patio from before is still there, and it actually fits the vibe of this new coffee spot perfectly. The whole place feels very vineyardy, almost enchanted garden energy with all the little decorative touches on ALL the drinks and the cutesy stickers! Indie artsy vibes. Anywayyyy, here's what we got ** Matcha Pandan Latte I really liked how earthy the matcha tasted. The quality is there. As advertised, they source their matcha, mugwort, and pandan from Kyoto, Korea, and Thailand, and you can actually taste the difference. The matcha isn't overpowered by milk at all. I didn't really catch much pandan flavor, BUT the salt cream is what you come for. It's not your typical salt cream topping. I can't fully explain it, but it tastes different in the best way. So good. ** Banana Pudding Matcha The banana pudding itself was really good. Thick, creamy, and you can actually feel bits of banana. My only downside is that it didn't cover the entire top. It felt a little short. Overall, they also have super cute merch. It's located at The Camp, so parking can get limited depending on the day you come. Wish it was closer to me, I'm dying to try the other drinks! I would say WORTH THE HYPE. read more
A new-ish cafe spot opened and I've been seeing it all over social media! Had to come to try the drinks. Parking is horrible.. The parking lot is so small & it's also located near The CAMP in Costa Mesa. There was a line out of the door, but it went by pretty fast! Don't expect this to be a sit down and enjoy place. It's pretty small with a side bar of a few chairs, and two spots inside, with a cute outdoor patio space and has two tables, but it fills up very quickly! However, if you get lucky, it's a nice place to sit and enjoy the drinks. I ordered the pandan blue milk drink (Butterfly Pea tea with pandan creame & milk!) - I got it with oatmilk and overall the drink is really good! I loved it a lot. Came here to try this place out with my mom 7 days after they opened and it did not disappoint! Since it did just open there was a long line, but it did go by quickly. We waited about 20 minutes in line which was not bad for a place that just opened . It was such a cute spot with some area seating outside and inside. However I do think that the seating inside can be removed since it create more traffic inside while people stand in line to order and others are walking in and out. It wasn't too loud, it was just as any noisy as any other cafe. We ordered the banana pudding matcha x 2 and the cheesecake x2. Both items tasted extremely good and I would definitely recommend. The banana pudding was a great addition to the matcha and did not over power the matcha. Something I appreciate about this cafe if that they were able to adjust the amount of matcha added into one of the drinks , which not many places can do. A cute coffee shop located at the CAMP! I usually opt for this place while I'm in Costa Mesa, mostly because I am obsessed with their drinks. Everything that I've tried here was amazing- drift cream coffee, strawberry matcha, banana pudding matcha, and their pandan matcha. The service is always really nice here- they're very attentive about add ons, milk substitutes, etc. Unfortunately, the space inside is really tight and small, but there is an outdoor patio seating area! The parking here is pretty cramp as well- very hard to find parking on weekends! Nevertheless, I would always come back here when I have the chance. read more
Went around 11am and the line was just out the door but it goes by fast and we only waited less than 10 minutes for our drinks to be made. It is a small shop, with very limited seating but it is so so cute! Very aesthetic and they have a small outdoor area. I loved the banana pudding matcha!! A semi decent matcha spot. I think it's a little over hyped. The matcha itself was mid quality. I've definitely had a lot better. The syrups had an odd flavor to them that i cant quite put my finger on. I would rate the matcha a 4/10. The matcha flavor really fell short, it was masked too much by the milk. The cashier was kind. The parking isn't the best in the area, I had to make a few laps before a spot finally opened up. The inside was very crowded, all of the tables were full. read more
I kept seeing tiktok's about this place so I decided to check it out! it's a SUPER small cafe but definitely popular because the line was out the door!
