Daydrift is definitely a drink for the Gram, but a little too curated for my taste. I ordered the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha latte with 50% sweetness. It tasted like milk and sugar. I knew it was a fru fru drink from the beginning, but I didn't think it'd be overwhelming sweet with no matcha taste whatsoever. A little something for foodfluencers. :) Cute and aesthetically pleasing cafe, with limited indoor+outdoor seating. Located in a small strip mall with extremely LIMITED parking, especially on the weekends.
Unfortunately, while the service was nice and there was almost no wait, my mugwort latte was made with whole milk instead of the oat milk I substituted for. I had told the cashier that I'm lactose intolerant but I'm assuming someone slipped the oat milk note on the cup. Definitely ruined my evening and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone sensitive to cheap whole milk. I can usually handle whole milk from Strauss and Alexandre but this was generic gallon whole milk. I also found the matcha and mugwort to be on the weaker side and this is definitely more of a dessert store than a serious matcha store like Chafinity. Drink at your own risk. Parking at the CAMP is horrific as usual.
What cute spot that you'll find next to The Camp in Costa Mesa. It's in the small shopping center right on the outside of it but easy enough to walk to first and then stroll around the area! Workers are friendly and made our drinks fast! They are yummy! There's a covered seatinf are right outside. No bathrooms I believe. There's some parking out front but your best bet is to park around The Camp or The LAB and make a day of it!!
Great new drink spot. I got the hojicha with matcha foam and my sister grabbed the pandan matcha. Both are delicious and we would like to come back and try the other drinks. Small space with cozy seating. We came on a weekday so easy parking and small line. Please come and create your own adventure.
Daydrift is one of those places I can't believe I didn't notice sooner, especially since it's so close to The Camp. It's tucked away in the corner with a few other food spots, and while parking in the front is a bit limited, there's actually plenty of space in the back which makes it much easier than it looks at first. Inside is a bit on the smaller side, but they do have both indoor and outdoor seating, and honestly the outdoor area was my favorite. It has a more open, relaxed feel that makes it really nice to sit and hang out. The worker was super friendly, which made the experience even better. I got the Mugwort Matcha Duo, and I'll admit the name "mugwort" threw me off at first and caught me by surprise. But it turns out it's paired with pandan cream top and butterfly pea, which made it a lot less intimidating than it sounds. I also got the banana pudding, but forgot to take a picture of it lol. The banana pudding was good, just a bit on the sweeter side for my preference. The drink itself was really well done. The pandan cream top was light and smooth, which let both the matcha and pandan come through without either one overpowering the other. The combination felt balanced and interesting, especially with the butterfly pea adding a subtle twist in flavor and color. It's one of those drinks that feels a bit unique without being too overwhelming. I'd definitely come back again to try their other drinks since the menu looks like it has a lot of creative options worth exploring.
I came here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon, and it was super busy! Parking was nearly impossible to find because Daydrift is located in a pretty popular plaza with plenty of other stores, but we managed to make it work. The store itself was small and the line was out the door when we got there. We placed our order and waited outside because they only had a couple tables. There was a little outdoor area connected to it, but there were only 2 tables. It took about ~15 mins for two drinks, but I expected that because of how long the line was. Mugwort matcha (8/10) - Matcha flavor was very strong, but I could still taste the mugwort flavoring. Very yummy and pretty to look at! I would totally get this again. Pandan matcha latte (8.75/10) - My friend got this and loved it. I took a sip and honestly preferred it over my own drink, and I would be down to get this next time. Overall, a cute store with good drinks, but the parking situation was bad and wait can be a little long.
Bumped into this place in the LAB plaza since another matcha cafe was closed so we came in to give it a shot :3 **ORDERED Hojicha Matcha $7.50 Creamy hojicha latte with the matcha foam on top certainly hit my caffeine level loved the creaminess of the 2 mixed together Pandan Matcha $7.50 My friend ordered it since she loves Pandan and it did not disappoint! Matcha was creamy and the Pandan coconut flavor was just the right balance **PEOPLE When we came in, they seemed to have a problem displaying the menu on the big display screen so we just pulled it up on yelp ;) cashier was very welcoming and patient with us as we decided between the variety of matcha choices **VIBES The cafe itself was small but they do have outdoor seating area that was enclosed which looked really beautiful. The ambience was the vintage beach drift sort of vibe which gave a sense of calm! Overall: I would for sure come back to try the other matchas as they have so many different kinds!
Cute little matcha corner! Every drink coming out looked super aesthetic, but I had my eyes set on the most unique item: the Mugwort Matcha Duo! It's got this earthy, slightly grainy base topped with a cloud of sweet pandan foam. I really like the flavor of mugwort, even though it overpowers the matcha. Service was quick, but I actually wouldn't mind waiting a little longer if they took that extra time to thoroughly mix and dissolve the matcha powder. I think this would help create a smoother mouthfeel and remove visible matcha clumps. The shop is still pretty new, so there's definitely room for improvement!
Daydrift is a cutesy little cafe tucked in the corner of a busy plaza. Parking is definitely ridiculous, especially after noon. However, I really enjoy their banana pudding matcha so I don't mind circling around the parking lot a couple times. Every time I've stopped in, the staff is so sweet and generally quick to make their lattes. I can't speak for their other drinks, as I really only come here for the banana pudding matcha since it's one of my favorite dessert lattes right now. The matcha is smooth and honestly gets overshadowed by the housemade banana pudding, but I like that strong banana flavor. Also when the cookie melts in and you taste little cookie chunks... I love it. I recommend giving it a try at least once. Get your banana pudding matcha then stroll through The Camp or hang out at their little outdoor seating area.
Arrived here on a Thursday early afternoon. It wasn't busy and so I thought I would get my drink fairly soon. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes to get one drink. I had to keep checking. They did not announce the order numbers either. Loved the pandan matcha latte. It had a nice earthy taste and the matcha had a bright green color. You can really taste the pandan flavoring too. I probably wouldn't come here again, only because the customer service was okay. And the parking lot is extremely small.
I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a long line already, but oh my it was so worth it! I got the Mugwort matcha, it was very refreshing and you can taste both the mugwort and the matcha. The creme on top was delicious as well! Also got the strawberry yuzu matcha and it has real strawberry puree at the bottom with the yuzu pulp/chunks. I love that you can taste all the ingredients and they compliment each other very well 10/10! The staff was working really fast and very friendly even though the store was crazy busy!
First time here! I tried the pandan matcha and customized it with the pandan butterfly cream on top because I wanted to try the blue-colored foam. I also got the strawberry yuzu matcha latte. The location was a little tricky to find- it's right next to the Chevron gas station. Service was quick and efficient. The space is small but has a nice vibe, with a bit of outdoor seating. I loved both drinks and definitely want to come back to try more!
2nd time here and the matcha didnt disappoint! The flavors were so good! I love the panda matcha latte. Its definitely worth going back to if you're in the area. The staffs were nice and helpful. The cafe was clean and welcoming. I love the outdoor patio for extra seating. read more
Daydrift. I been waiting to try this spot out. All their drinks are beautiful. I was just hoping they taste as good as they look Drift cream coffee. It's like a Vietnamese coffee with their cream. It's too strong for me. I love viet coffee but this just didn't do it for me. If it was a bit less strong. I would have liked it Good news. Their pandan matcha latte was so good. Great pandan flavor. Tad sweet but close enough to get me to come back and get this again and try their other drinks. If I didn't like the matcha as much as I do. I would do 4 stars. But I will happily overlook the coffee for the matcha again read more
Daydrift is such a visually appealing spot with drinks that taste just as good as they look. The matcha was very good overall, and my favorite by far was the strawberry matcha. It had a nice balance of sweetness and earthy matcha flavor, and the layers made it both refreshing and fun to drink. My second favorite was the drift cream coffee, which was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The coconut matcha had a very strong coconut flavor that slightly overpowered the matcha for me, so it wasn't my top pick, but if you love coconut you would probably enjoy it. The cafe itself is very aesthetically pleasing, and all the staff members were extremely nice and friendly. It is probably not the best place to sit and study for a long time, but it is definitely a great spot to grab a drink while shopping or walking around. I would come back to try more of their seasonal drinks. read more

Their pandan matcha latte with vanilla sea salt foam is INSANE. Perfect sweetness level also as someone who hates overly sweet and usually gets 1/2 sweet but this was perfect as it is. read more
I didn't physically go to the shop but my partner did and he said that the place was nice. When he ordered our drinks, he told me that they were too pretty to drink. Come to my surprise when he got back to our hotel room, the drinks still looked as pretty as when he got the drinks. We had the banana matcha and the strawberry matcha. They were so delicious! We got our drinks with oat milk. I would def come back to try their other drinks the next time I'm in town read more

50 sweet pandan matcha latte yum. they hand whisk their matcha a bit pricey for a regular size at 7.5 without any additions a lil gritty but with every matcha a few straw twirls are necessary wait time was 15 minutes at 9:30 AM on a saturday :P but lots of parking available and good amt of seating but small space read more

Either I went in a bad day, or tik tok catfished me. This place is in such a busy time square that the parking sucks. There's little to no parking where some people are just parking on the street. I knew I was in the wrong place when I was standing in line & saw the color of the matcha. It was very sewer green & tasted very grainy & artificial. On the flip side, the inside was very cutesy with a lot of places to sit, study, or just chill with your friends. read more

Really loved the banana pudding matcha with the biscoff on top. Yummy sweet treat and the banana balanced the matcha well. Definitely more of a dessert. They also had brown butter cookies that day which were good! The staff were friendly and the wait wasn't long. I didn't go on a Monday afternoon so didn't have to wait in line. The place is pretty small with a few small tables outside. It's located in The Camp so there's parking, but it does tend to get full. Definitely would go back to try their other drinks! read more
Yummy cream topped matcha drinks with a bit of a wait bc the tiktok crowd =========== Came by on a weekday afternoon Able to find parking, some spots here and there 6 ppl ahead of me Got two drinks Pandan matcha (half sweet) w/ whole milk Mugwort matcha w/ oat milk $15.50?? I thinkkk the matcha isn't as in your face as airoma, but for a spot minutes away from home, I would come back. Pandan matcha I really like the pandan flavor in here. You can tell they use real pandan cuz it's got a nice floral note all throughout the drink! Light colored and not radioactive. Mugwort matcha Possibly my fav drink between the two. It kind of tastes like an earthy cinnamon or something, but the mugwort plays quite well with the matcha. Didn't reduce the sugar in this one, maybe will do that next time for health. If you're looking for a stronger caffeinated drink, they do have a day drift cream coffee with the Vietnamese phin drip, but they can't really reduce the sugar bc it's premade already (I asked) The cream top they use is so good for both drinks! Maybe my fav cream top in all of oc. Flavorful with a perfect salt amount! Weekday wait for both drinks was 15 min, plus wait to get into the store lol in and out was maybe 25 min.. read more
service was friendly and there was a decent amount of parking on a Saturday morning. A lot of the seating was already claimed by people with laptops :-) the drink selection is unique, I ordered a hojicha & a mugwort duo. 2 drinks with oatmilk substitutes came out to like $16 without tip * The mugwort duo was unfortunately very grainy, but the hojicha was nice! Got there early, right as they opened after seeing the line Daydrift formed the day before, and ordering was quick and drinks were ready not long after. Great garnishes for that picture perfect drink and the flavor combos they have down! The banana coffee with matcha cold foam was a great blend of all flavors mentioned. I will say I came back the next day, and the drink wasn't quite the same as the day before, different garnishes, slightly different taste, etc. but I totally understand a little variety with the newness of the shop and the team still trying to get the flow of everything. I stopped by Daydrift around 1pm the day after their soft opening and the line wasn't as bad as expected, but it was about a 20-25 min wait. My first impression of the store was how cozy the interior is. If it weren't so busy I could see this spot being really relaxing with the outdoor patio space. The workers here were also really kind and helpful despite how much business they've been getting which I appreciated. The cashier was knowledgeable about the drinks and was able to answer the questions I had. I got the Banana Pudding Matcha, Strawberry Yuzu Matcha, and Banana Pudding. The matcha itself is high quality and they definitely don't skimp. It's disappointing when matcha lattes are too milky and barely taste like matcha, but you can definitely taste the matcha! The taste profile is definitely milder and not too bitter, so it's easier to drink. The matcha to milk ratio was great and I loved how it was JUST milky enough. Now the details of each drink: 1. Banana Pudding Matcha (4/5): Everything about this drink was so good, but there wasn't enough banana pudding on top which was sad because it is SO tasty and had bits of banana in it. There wasn't enough to cover the top in an even layer, so the banana pudding taste was definitely lacking. It's even more important for balance of the drink because the matcha itself is unsweetened and relies on the banana pudding top for the sweetness. The unsweetened matcha is perfect for me though because I prefer my drinks on the less sweet side. If the banana pudding cream top was more substantial, it would've been perfect!! (Note: I was told to mix my drinks well before sipping, but I think they were referencing the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. I tried mixing this one anyway, and it still wasn't banana-y enough.) 2. Strawberry Yuzu Matcha (5/5): This one was definitely sweeter than the Banana Pudding Matcha since the ratio of strawberry puree to the matcha was higher. The matcha itself is unsweetened. This drink is well balanced and had a good strawberry flavor that didn't overpower the matcha. Same goes for the yuzu, which added just a hint of citrus. The cream top added some richness to the drink. Overall this drink was really refreshing for the warm weekend and I could totally see this being one of their best sellers. I think I could've asked for slightly less strawberry puree to reduce the sweetness without taking away from the flavor of the drink since the strawberry taste was strong. 3. Banana Pudding (4.5/5): Tastes just like the pudding on top of the matcha. Rich and creamy, good amount of Nilla wafers. It's a little sweet for me, but it's just preference! I would've loved some more banana slices in it, but this is a really solid dessert. I'd definitely get it again if I was craving something sweet. Overall I had a really good experience here and I'm so happy a GOOD matcha place opened up next to where I workout. It's dangerously close for sure!! read more

Daydrift is a newer coffee/tea shop in Costa Mesa. It's located in the Camp, which means parking is tough to get whenever it's busy. I went on opening day, and drinks were getting out fairly slow at first, but as time passed, it was smoother and took maybe 5 minutes to get my order. Surprisingly there's a good amount of seating inside for it being located in the Camp, and it kind of gives off a chill street cafe vibe that you'd find around Asia. I personally got the Pandan blu mylk, as well as the banana coffee matcha creamtop, and my friend got the banana pudding matcha as well as banana pudding. The pandan blue mylk was so good, the pandan was great and the drink overall was the perfect level of sweetness and flavor. The banana coffee matcha creamtop was a bit weak on the matcha, but wasn't bad overall. It was a standard banana coffee with a bit of matcha from the creamtop. The banana pudding matcha was also a bit average, similar to other banana matchas around OC. They're pretty good overall, but not too different from what you'd find elsewhere. Overall would love to recommend Daydrift to anyone that's already at the Camp, as the parking is a factor to take into account in my opinion. It's such a cute little space located inside the camp plaza. The menu for matcha is very different from other matcha stores with unique combinations. I got the pandan matcha latte and it was so good! I can taste the pandan flavor which didn't overpower the matcha taste. I definitely want to go back and try other items on the menu! read more
I went on a Sunday in the afternoon and there was a little bit of a wait time as the line to order extended out the door. Please keep in mind it's located at CAMP so parking is always busy. After ordering the drinks took 5-10 minutes to come out! I got the drift cream coffee and the cream was very good and it came with what seems like dalgona/toffee crumbs on top. The coffee itself wasn't too sweet but balanced out the cream top. It came without lids on top but they do provide 3 different types when you pick up your drink so you can choose between a sippy lid, a flat lid, or a dome lid. There is seating indoors as well as a little patio with outdoor seating. But since it is still a pretty busy place, finding seating can be hard. read more

Saw this place pop up on TikTok and was in the area so stopped by for a matcha. Overall, it was decent but definitely on the sweeter side. It tasted super sugary so maybe ask for light sweetness. The service was decent, staff were nice and helped us pretty quickly. It is a small space at the camp so there isn't too much seating but if you can find a seat it's great. read more
I visited Daydrift on a Saturday mid-afternoon with a friend. As usual, the parking lot was very crowded & there were no spots open when we first drove in, but we were very lucky because we noticed that a car was pulling out shortly after we arrived. This was my third time attempting to visit Daydrift since the line was way too long the past couple times. Fortunately, there was no line this visit--there still wasn't any spots open to sit down, but it was no worries since we weren't planning on staying anyway. I liked how many plants they had to decorate the space & the lively ambiance. I thought that they had great selection & appreciate that they had a few drinks with ingredients that aren't often featured in other cafes, including mugwort & blue milk. I ordered the banana pudding matcha & altered it to be 50% sweet while my friend got the mugwort matcha duo. We both absolutely loved our drinks. Daydrift will be hearing from us again, because we want to try their other options! read more
This new cafe in the camp is definitely great for an aesthetic picture. While the line might be a bit long, I think it's mainly because it recently opened. They only had one specialty coffee, so of course I got the drift cream coffee. It was bitter at first sip but after mixing in the sweet cold foam it was a good amount of sweetness. Overall coffee rating: 3.5/5. The service was great but I'd probably only go back if they added another specialty coffee. read more

I know this place opened early January and instantly went viral, so I finally got the chance to check it out today and the line honestly wasn't bad at all. If I'm not mistaken, this used to be an açai shop. The outdoor patio from before is still there, and it actually fits the vibe of this new coffee spot perfectly. The whole place feels very vineyardy, almost enchanted garden energy with all the little decorative touches on ALL the drinks and the cutesy stickers! Indie artsy vibes. Anywayyyy, here's what we got ** Matcha Pandan Latte I really liked how earthy the matcha tasted. The quality is there. As advertised, they source their matcha, mugwort, and pandan from Kyoto, Korea, and Thailand, and you can actually taste the difference. The matcha isn't overpowered by milk at all. I didn't really catch much pandan flavor, BUT the salt cream is what you come for. It's not your typical salt cream topping. I can't fully explain it, but it tastes different in the best way. So good. ** Banana Pudding Matcha The banana pudding itself was really good. Thick, creamy, and you can actually feel bits of banana. My only downside is that it didn't cover the entire top. It felt a little short. Overall, they also have super cute merch. It's located at The Camp, so parking can get limited depending on the day you come. Wish it was closer to me, I'm dying to try the other drinks! I would say WORTH THE HYPE. read more
A new-ish cafe spot opened and I've been seeing it all over social media! Had to come to try the drinks. Parking is horrible.. The parking lot is so small & it's also located near The CAMP in Costa Mesa. There was a line out of the door, but it went by pretty fast! Don't expect this to be a sit down and enjoy place. It's pretty small with a side bar of a few chairs, and two spots inside, with a cute outdoor patio space and has two tables, but it fills up very quickly! However, if you get lucky, it's a nice place to sit and enjoy the drinks. I ordered the pandan blue milk drink (Butterfly Pea tea with pandan creame & milk!) - I got it with oatmilk and overall the drink is really good! I loved it a lot. I wish I live closer so that I can come back often but it's definitely a recommended spot! read more

I absolutely loved this spot! Always happy to see a new addition to The Camp. The staff was very kind and happy to answer all my questions. I opted for a pandan matcha with oat milk and let me tell you, it was a work of art! So beautiful and also so very tasty! I loved the trix cereal and other aromatics on top, it really added to the experience with every sip. Definitely recommend you check this spot out! read more

Came here to try this place out with my mom 7 days after they opened and it did not disappoint! Since it did just open there was a long line, but it did go by quickly. We waited about 20 minutes in line which was not bad for a place that just opened . It was such a cute spot with some area seating outside and inside. However I do think that the seating inside can be removed since it create more traffic inside while people stand in line to order and others are walking in and out. It wasn't too loud, it was just as any noisy as any other cafe. We ordered the banana pudding matcha x 2 and the cheesecake x2. Both items tasted extremely good and I would definitely recommend. The banana pudding was a great addition to the matcha and did not over power the matcha. Something I appreciate about this cafe if that they were able to adjust the amount of matcha added into one of the drinks , which not many places can do. Parking: The parking in the front is small but there is parking behind the building which gets very limited on busy weekends. Drink: Drift cream coffee is your typical Vietnamese coffee so no complaints! Interior: The interior is quite small so when it gets busy, I wish they would manage the capacity inside. read more
Went around 11am and the line was just out the door but it goes by fast and we only waited less than 10 minutes for our drinks to be made. It is a small shop, with very limited seating but it is so so cute! Very aesthetic and they have a small outdoor area. I loved the banana pudding matcha!! Once it's all mixed, it tasted thicker and the matcha was refreshing. I will for sure go back! read more

First time visiting here after it switched from being milk and honey I prefer this place a lot more. They have really high-quality Matcha and they also had good coffee as well. I had ordered a banana cream coffee and it wasn't too sweet, but I prefer more coffee so I got a double espresso shot added to it and it was the perfect amount of bittersweet and right amount of coffee. The Hoji with the Matcha cream top was also excellent for those who do not like coffee or too much caffeine I highly recommend that one. I actually think that one is what I will order next time. The ambience was a bit crazy though when we went there, the space is small and while the outdoor space is cute, there's constant tree, cutting and construction next to it so it's hard to sit out there for a while but other than that, everything's great about this place. read more

Cute spot at the camp! This location used to be a Milk & Honey, and they kept the shop layout pretty much the same with a cozy outdoor patio that's perfect for catching up with friends. Cool menu with unique flavors like mugwort, pandan, & butterfly pea. The coffee was good, although the toppings were a little overpowering in my opinion. There was so much biscoff cookie crumbled on top of my banana coffee that made it hard to drink and super sweet, overpowering any coffee flavor. I also wish they had decaf espresso but definitely understandable as they are a brand new shop. I would come back to try their matcha as that seems so be the thing to get here! read more

The line is ABSOLUTELY insane right now so just be aware of that. We waited almost 20 minutes in long and the line was shorter today. I love the options that they have especially with matcha. I got the banana pudding matcha and they did let me know it doesn't have any sweetener in it so I added pandan for some sweetness! The matcha is earthy & a deep green color as it should be. The banana pudding on top IS SO good! They have a lot of drinks with pandan. I also tried the mugwort matcha duo and even without sweetener it has enough dimension because of the mugwort- it gives it a nutty flavor profile I really like. There's some seating but not too much and it is on the expensive side but that's to be expected for anywhere in The Camp. They replaced Milk & Honeys location. read more
Located on the edge of The Camp (where Milk & Honey used to be), Daydrift is pretty amazing. I was very surprised: the customer service and the drinks were top notch. I have gone 2 times and probably will continue going, because the drinks were worth the price. My friend tried 2 different matchas and we were impressed at the baristas whisking the matcha right then and there. The ambiance is cute! It's small and parking sucks, but that's everywhere at The Camp. Valet parking is an option! read more
Super cute little cafe! I ordered the strawberry yuzu matcha latte with 25% sweetness and it was perfect. Really appreciated that the staff accomodated the sweetness adjustment. Seating and parking are a bit limited, so highly recommend getting your drink for takeout. The staff here are friendly and drinks come out really quickly. The interior and patio area are decorated really cutely as well. Highly recommend. read more
My favorite banana matcha I've tried. The banana pudding is so yummy. This drink is truly a treat. Matcha is good quality and flavorful. Doesn't just taste like milk unlike some other viral matcha spots. One thing to note is that it doesn't have a ton of caffeine. Good little pick me up. I got the pandan matcha and banana cream matcha. You can definitely taste the banana! It was good. I personally don't like pandan, but it was also really good. There is small seating outside of the shop, but parking can be tricky since it's at the camp. read more
Tried daydrift because I saw it all over my tik tok and it was definitely worth the hype! Despite the cafe being small = limited seating, it is still really clean. The workers are super cordial and helpful, and they were willing to give me their top recommendations both times I visited. The wait wasn't bad and the drinks itself were pretty good! The first time I got the daydrift coffee which tasted like a vietnamese coffee and the second time I went, I got the banana matcha. I recommend getting the banana one 50% sweet if you're not a fan of too sweet. Also, other than the blue milk drink, they were all pretty solid. Overall, I highly recommend! read more

This place is in The Camp right next to Outer Limits and is where Milk & Honey used to be. I didn't want anything with caffeine so decided to try their Pandan Blue Milk with oatmilk. It was and tasted just like oatmilk with pandan syrup topped with Ube cream. It was nice to try, but overall not memorable. Their drinks all sound interesting so next time I'll have to try their other items - the hojicha matcha is calling my name! read more
