Pineapple
Ida J.

Order: pineapple This is a dessert that is easy to love - subtly and naturally sweetened coconut jelly mixed with chonky bits of fresh pineapple topped with crispy coconut flakes (can add to your liking). The crunch was engulfed by the chew and then washed over by fruit juice. The coconut flavor is present but not dominating, allowing the pineapple to shine through here and there. It tasted guilt free. This jar was purchased at Yummy Yummy, where they have a selection of pineapple, mango, peach gum, mixed fruit and original in the mini fridge by the counter. Mango sells the quickest.

I came here because I was able to get something from too good to go. I was able to try the cold brew and matcha. They taste great and would definitely come back. The place is nice and clean and the people are helpful.

It's a business within a business and the main business owner/staff isn't thrilled or happy when you come in to support the smaller business. They greeted us and when we said we wanted to order the Kokonut items, they turned unfriendly and spoke in their native language to the staff of the smaller business. Took about 10-15 minutes for them to prepare our order. The jars are placed in these bags - the jars are plastic. The pudding it self isnt sweet - the flavor is subtle. I'd like the Coconut flavor to just a tad stronger. The black sesame is good - but the flavor is subtle too. If you're looking to satisfy a sweet tooth - this isnt it.

I'm glad I found a late night snack/dessert place. This place is open till 2am. It seems like they have two different businesses doing a collab inside. One part of it has KOKONUT which is a coconut pudding dessert and the other is a fried chicken by Hello Chicken. The Kokonut dessert are ordered up at the counter. There are few inside seating options here as well. I got to try the Peach and Mixed Fruit flavored Kokonut dessert. The coconut pudding was good, not served as pretty as the pictures were on their display. Their best seller mango was out of stock so get them while they have them. With so many coconut desserts popping up this falls under the average rating in my opinion but still a great late night socially in Irvine.

Kokonut has been on my radar for a while, but I never got the opportunity to stop by until recently. After a delicious dinner at Siam Station nearby, we decided to walk a couple doors down to try their coconut pudding. You can find them operating inside a hot pot restaurant called Yummy Yummy, near Jamboree and Barranca. Parking was decent, with a good amount of spots. Seating was plentiful on a Tuesday evening. The jars are stored in a fridge by the register. Since it's an "express" location, selection is limited compared to what you will find at their dessert bar in Costa Mesa. Flavors options include Mango, Strawberry, Mixed Fruit (Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Strawberry, Blueberry), Coffee, Black Sesame, and Original. Everything is dairy-free and gluten-free in case you are lactose intolerant and/or have dietary restrictions. Prices range from $9 to $11, which I feel is steep for something that fits inside a Talenti container. Unfortunately, gelato would've been more enjoyable. I did find the pudding by itself refreshing and silky smooth. Not overly sweet at all, and the texture was jiggly. The fruits on the other hand were sour. Strawberries were bitter and had no tartness to them. Mangoes were not ripe at all. These are toppings that were supposed to add flavor to the dessert, but diminished it instead. I would consider returning, but only at the main location. Hopefully they have better QA/QC there.

I wasn't sure what to expect when trying this place, but I was craving something sweet. The coconut yogurt isn't as sweet as you think and not really yogurty, but rather gelatin like. We only got mango and peach which was the two flavors that interest us. The peach was better than the mango, which was kind of chunky and not as fresh. This place is inside of a restaurant. Packaging was super cute, but a little pricey ($12) for a small cup dessert.

Pricey, but worth a try once in a while! The selection is small and it's also a bit pricier than the Costa Mesa location. This location only had original, coffee, mango, and strawberry the night I came. After ordering, the guy at the counter sealed it in bag with utensils and coconut crisps. Overall, it was good, but pricey. I was hoping the cup would be made of glass, but it's only plastic.

I've been seeing a lot of coconut pudding places and my fiancé and I finally got the chance to give it a try. The coconut pudding had a good taste it wasn't too sweet and was refreshing at the same time the texture reminds me of flan and jello. Although, we were disappointed with the amount of mango in the jar. The ratio between the coconut pudding and mango was not balanced. Honestly, probably had like 5 small pieces of mango. The toasted coconut made the taste better but the mango flavor was not there for me. The order was fast and the guy took it out from their mini fridge right next to them. When they brought out the jar I was confused because it didn't look like the display on their menu. From my perspective I think the pictures on the menu can be deceiving. The dessert is good but I probably would not drive all the way here for it.

The cool packaging

The pudding is super light and refreshing. Its really good quality coconut dessert. They don't really have a good sign outside and it's not that easy to find them. Also, they are super weird about the way you order. There is no window or cashier. You walk in and you can see people working on the food like an assembly line and then a lady come out to take our order with the door partially closed behind her. She just acted kinda weird. But the pudding was delish so it's all good.

Kokonut is a good option if you're looking for something light and fresh. The Coconut Pudding w/ Mixed Fruit came with a generous portion of fruit and was pretty filling. It is also not too sweet.

One of the few places that are open really late!! We got the mango coconut jar and it was really good. Taste was 4/5. Its a small fridge inside what seemed to be a hot pot place. Unfortunately it was fairly pricy for the size of the jar. Otherwise the fruit and pudding/jelly would have been perfect with really good flavor. They also provided a small packet of coconut flakes that went surprisingly well with the pudding.

Summer is finally here and the best way to beat this heat is to treat yourself to some delicious dessert! Kokonut dessert is a coconut based gelatin/jello/pudding like dessert that's topped with a variety of fresh fruits and other unique flavors! It's so refreshing and easily addicting! I couldn't decide and picked 5 flavors! My top 2 favorite is the peach gum and fruit mix! I highly recommend everyone trying this place out! Since the Costa Mesa location is so close to us, I will be going here more often !!!

Still ventured to try it Two guys working, one said he was new, and didn't know where all the flavors were / allowed us to try some b4 we ordered but was a pain bc the flavors were spread between two freezers in front of store and whatever was in the back. Placed an order for 3 double scoop cups (all they had) and took a really long time to make them having to figure out where the flavors were between the front and back of store. Then. They didn't have lids to cover them or a bag to put them in - so we literally covered each cup with another cup and put in a box I had from Costco in my trunk to get them home without dripping everywhere in my car. And I say dripping everywhere bc by the time he finished the last cup/. The others were melted from taking so long. They should probably just stick to donuts if they can't fully support the ice cream products. If I knew now/ I wouldn't have chosen to try there for ice cream. Very unfortunate, bc we probably would have loved the ice cream - but the experience clearly trumped the product.

The lavender was the most unique and would absolutely be the one I bring to wow new people. The pistachio was rich, creamy, and really well balanced. The Italian chocolate was deeply chocolatey, exactly how I like it, and I finished the whole thing in one sitting. The rose flavor is definitely for people who truly enjoy rose desserts. The strawberry was the only one that did not fully match my expectations from a high end bakery. The tiramisu was decent, more cream-forward and lighter on the coffee flavor than I expected. Overall, these pastries are definitely on the sweeter, cream-based side, and honestly, that is exactly what made them so good to me. I do not want desserts to be less sweet, I want them to feel indulgent and perfect, and these did. I will absolutely keep going back, especially for the lavender, chocolate, and pistachio pastries.

Instead, he recommended the *Creamtella* and their matcha beverages. I was absolutely blown away; who would have thought that *Cheesetella's matcha drinks would be this delicious?! There is a wide selection of matcha drinks available in-store. The owner mentioned that they use high-quality matcha (I'm guessing he meant ceremonial grade?), and he even showed me their preparation process--specifically how they whisk it to achieve that smooth, "mirror-like" finish! Matcha Einspanner Personally, I prefer this kind of simple flavor profile: matcha blended with a rich, thick cream topping. It offers a satisfyingly subtle tea aroma with every sip--a true delight for any matcha enthusiast! Strawberry Matcha w/ Pistachio Cream If you love strawberries and enjoy sweet flavors, you'll likely enjoy this one. However, since I'm not personally a huge fan of the combination of strawberry jam and matcha, I felt just "okay" about it--though it is a tasty drink! The pistachio cream topping definitely earns some extra points here! Creamtella The combination of cream and cake gave me a whole new appreciation for their pastries. The cream perfectly counteracts the cake's tendency to be a bit dry; together, they make for a truly perfect pairing! You absolutely *must* give this a try!! It gets a huge thumbs-up from me! Chocotella This one is fairly standard and straightforward. The small chocolate pieces add a nice textural element, and the flavor is a definite plus--especially if you're a chocolate lover! However, the cake itself leans a bit toward the drier side--much like their original plain flavor (which is why I still highly recommend going for the versions with added cream!) To be honest, the first time I tried their cakes, I wasn't particularly impressed. Later, I saw posts suggesting that heating them up before eating makes them taste much better. But this time, the *Creamtella* truly blew me away, completely changing my opinion of the brand. And the matcha drinks are just the icing on the cake! The owner is genuinely a wonderful person--so friendly and enthusiastic! Since it's just him and one other employee working in the shop, making the drinks takes a little time, so please be patient! ^_^

I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.
