This is such a cute little cafe right in the heart of Irvine. They've got SO many flavors of mochi, gelato that's made in-house, and even Beard Papa's cream puffs! I saw that there was a Dubai chocolate cream puff but didn't get it this time but will have to come back for it. Advice to the owner of Mochi. Came in and bought a toy item since they have a big selection. Came home and within 30 minutes came back because the item was defective/broken. Supervisor had to reach out to owner for simple exchange. My advice is a supervisor should be able to make simple decisions at their own discretion. Workers were rude. When I went up to the counter she said "what do you want?" Very short and rude. I asked her for one of the cream puffs and she said "we don't serve those after 8:30" it was just a few minutes after 8:30. I said okay, went back to our group at our table. Right at 9pm another one of the workers came to our table and said "SORRY, WERE CLOSED NOW" which is fine. We respect closing time, but there was a much nicer way to say it to customers. One of the other girls in our group asked for a sample and the worker said they don't give them out for gelato. So she asked what the flavor tasted like, the worker responded saying that she's never tried any of the ice creams so she couldn't help her. She was also very rude when helping her out as well. The red bean taiyaki was hot and tasty, but the custard one wasn't warm at all. The cream filling was just room temperature, which was a bit disappointing. The milk tea, though, was the biggest problem. It was very bland and had no flavor. There was no sweetness, and it tasted like watered down tea. The only sweet part was the boba. We let the staff know that the milk tea didn't taste right and asked if we could change it. They said yes, but didn't say sorry or anything, which felt a uncomfortable. They gave us a yuzu iced tea instead, but unfortunately, it was the worst yuzu tea I've ever had. It smelled like cosmetics and still had no sweetness, so it was really hard to drink.
