I've been coming to this boba shop pretty regularly, but unfortunately, this visit wasn't as smooth as usual. I came in wanting to try some of my favorite drinks, but it seemed like they had sold out of almost everything, including many of their best-sellers. There were only a few options left, mainly traditional milk tea and regular teas. I understand that sometimes the shop gets busy and certain drinks may sell out, especially later in the day. I can imagine both the shop and parking getting much more crowded during peak hours, so I'd recommend ordering online ahead of time if you want to avoid waiting. Since the mango itself was already very sweet, I actually think light sweet would have made the drink more balanced. Finally checked out the new (to me) location in Westminster. I'm glad to have a location that is pretty close to me now. My brother was raving about their Rice Frost drink, so naturally, I have to try it out. The drink is really good and I love the barley ball that came with the drink. It reminded me with cơm rượu, which a Vietnamese dessert with rice fermented in sweet whine. There is a slight hint of fermentation that gives the drink a unique taste. Love the open space and how spacious the store is. Limited seating though, so it's more for grab and go situation. The place also open really late, which is perfect for late night drink craving. I've gone to their LA location and was excited to see one here. There was a line with two kiosks, but it did go quick. Since it was late, I wanted to try their pink coconut glow or their water chestnut boba, but both were out. I ended going with the Watermelon Crunch with water chestnut popping boba. I don't love popping boba, but was intrigued with the water chestnut and it did take some getting used to. The watermelon slush was still sweet so I'm not sure I'd get it again. Super long wait at this location. First visit yesterday and I had to wait for 1 hour 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. And an additional 15 for my turn to order and receive the drink. If I would have known it took that long, I would not have joined the line. There were over a dozen staff members making teas in their kitchen but only one, yes one, taking orders and running the cash register! Drinks are good though. Especially the Mochi Mango and Avomango Sweet Dew. Their most popular and best selling. Mochi Mango has some fresh mango pulp and a good amount of mochi. All employees are very kind and respectful. I've given it a couple of chances, but it just never really hits for me. I usually get the matcha, and this time I also tried the mango sago. I realized I'm probably just not a huge sago person, so that one wasn't really for me. As for the matcha, I thought it could've been better. It felt a little too creamy for my preference, and I wish the matcha flavor itself stood out more. There are tons of drink options in the area, but 3cat has some unique drinks. We tried the Rice frost . It reminds me a lot of sikhye(Korean sweet rice drink). The water chestnut boba were good, texture is definitely interesting. Definitely give it a try on a hot day, quite refreshing but a bit on the sweeter side.
