Torotea always hits the spot! Felt like grabbing a drink to beat the heat, so I ordered online for pickup. There are so many good drinks and today I felt like branching out of my usual popcorn milk tea so I tried a Jasmine Oolong Pure Tea with Black Tea Tapiochi™ and Himalayan Sea Salt Cloud and absolutely loved the combo. Thank you for the easy order and pick up experience! Ambiance is so calming - there is beauty in simplicity and love visiting any Torotea location. Thanks so much for coming to OC!
I had such high expectations for this place because of the great reviews and a referral from my husband's coworker. Unfortunately, I'm sad to report that this place feels overhyped. The line was pretty long for a Thursday afternoon around 2:00 p.m., so naturally, I thought this place must be a hit. Unfortunately, I was met with more disappointment than anything. We paid $17.15 for two regular-size drinks--a matcha tea and a jasmine oolong with brown sugar tapioca. One thing to note: they only offer one drink size, which felt pretty small for the price point. The matcha drink had a nice, rich flavor, which I enjoyed. However, the jasmine oolong tasted more like watered-down milk to me, and the tapioca pearls tasted more like grass jelly than traditional boba. I will say that the decor and overall design of the shop are sleek, minimalist, and definitely a vibe. But unfortunately, I can't justify coming back solely for the ambiance. For the price, my recommendation would be to save your money and go to Bako Tea instead. Their tea flavors are much more pronounced and flavorful. Overall, this was unfortunately a one-and-done visit for me.
Torotea Santa Ana is one of four locations in SoCal; they specialize in high quality milk tea and tea-based drinks that reminds me of Chi Cha San Chen, because they have straight tea options along with crafted milk tea drinks. It was my first time trying this place, so I tried their signature Cassia Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi (4/5) and Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly (4/5). I liked both drinks because they weren't overly sweet and the edible jellies were subtle but tasted way better than the usual tapioca boba balls. I was somewhat off put by the large whole wrinkly dried mulberries that occasionally came up through my straw, but that's a personal preference that I discovered while having this drink, rather than an issue with the beverage itself. I was curious to try their popcorn milktea, so that's the next drink I would like to order when I come again. Torotea is my favorite milk tea place in SoCal, hands down because I like straight teas and subtle flavors, rather than diabetes in a cup. Highly recommend for tea enthusiasts.
Torotea finally makes its long-awaited entrance into Orange County! For those that know, torotea is a popular tea shop that has locations in Chino Hills, Diamond Bar, and San Marino. It was no surprise that eventually the franchise would make its way to the heart of Orange County in Santa Ana. During grand opening and subsequent weeks, the wait was especially long, wrapping all around the building. During that time, you could expect a 30-45 minute wait. Now that it's been some time since then, the wait has reduced significantly, down to probably 10-15 minutes to get your order in and receive your drink. Upon entry, you can expect a similar ambiance to its sister locations, with a hut-like feel to the establishment. The inside seems more of a waiting area rather than somewhere to sit and enjoy your refreshment. I got the location-specific drink here called the Muscat Oolong Passion Bloom and honestly, it's my personal favorite here! It's quite smooth and has a taste akin to grape flavored drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend this tea shop to anyone looking to get some amazing boba/tea in the heart of Santa Ana!
- we anticipated a long wait so we ordered online but it wasn't too busy at all (still recommend ordering online anyways) The interior is spacious and feels like you stepped into a cave. It's mostly bench-like seating on the right side with low tables. I did see some outlets but the seating situation doesn't make this place a good work/study spot in my opinion! - staff were really nice and handing out samples of their tea. It was cool to see the display of their jelly offerings too! - the milk teas were delicious, creamy and fragrant with a smooth strong tea flavor. We both enjoyed the deep roasty amber milk tea more. I think their focus isn't on floral jasmine teas so I'd go for the oolong or amber/black teas! I wish the barley jelly had a more pronounced flavor, the texture was fun but i didn't get a strong hit of that wheat/nutty barley
Toro tea is one of my favorite boba places, so I was excited to see that they opened one near home. I thought there was going to be a long line, but it wasn't too bad. Popcorn Milk tea (5/5): I know it sounds weird but this is my favorite drink. It's buttery like popcorn but with a sweet caramel kick. Definitely a unique and yummy drink.
4.5/5: If you like the tea flavors at Orobae but not the weird vibes at that place, this is the place to go. If you really enjoy the grape/floral type flavors you'll really like their location exclusive muscat flavor with the osmanthus jelly. It's very subtle but refreshing. The Jasmine oolong is really nice too, I added brown sugar tapimochi and it was slightly too sweet. Maybe I would get it with the black tea jelly next time. Tip: Make sure to use the tea saver (smaller) straw if you don't get the tapimochi. Service is really good! Not too overbearing and they are always happy to give you recommendations when you ask for it. Quick service too after you order, comes out fairly quickly. 4.5 only b/c dang is it pricey. Most tea spots are but I just really wonder if it's really worth $8 for a drink of this size.
There's a new Torotea! Located in Santa Ana close by to South Coast Plaza, Torotea features premium teas with their signature Tapioca Mochi or "Tapiochi". I love the flavors, high quality ingredients, and vibe of this location! The staff are so nice and welcoming and really enhance the overall experience. I got the Manor Milk tea and the Jasmine Matcha Latte. Both were delicious! Excited to come back soon.
I'm excited there is now a Toro Tea in OC! This place recently opened so the hype is still real. Expect to wait 30-45 min on average on weekends. The milk teas here are really good -- pure, strong tea flavors. But this review is specifically for the Jasmine Matcha Latte ($9), which was VERY underwhelming. At $9 I was expecting a very strong matcha flavor, but unfortunately the matcha flavor was near non-existent. Essentially all of the flavor was in the Jasmine tea. I was a little worried that was going to be the case because the drink is a very faint and light green. It looked and tasted watered down. I would skip the matcha drinks here. They are more known for their milk teas. I don't think they should list matcha drinks as their signature drinks on their menu. Also you cannot adjust the sweetness level for matcha latte. Huh? I thought that was weird. Aren't matcha lattes mixed and made to order? For a speciality, high-priced tea shop not to be able to adjust sweetness for a latte seemed odd.
Torotea is finally in OC!!! Torotea makes some high quality tea drinks, along with some innovative and perfectly balanced speciality milk teas. Popcorn Milktea? Creme Brulee? If it's your first time here, you have to try one of those two. Popcorn Milktea - This is their most irresistible drink here. It's a milk tea that perfectly captures the buttery flavor of popcorn while still maintaining a full milk tea profile. It comes with their brown sugar tapiochi, which are square chunks that have the consistency that is a cross between grass jelly and tapioca. Ember Milktea - This one has a very nutty profile. It's got a strong milk tea flavor and the nuttiness hits strong too. Very good if you are craving that nut. Manor Milktea - Hard to describe the flavor on this one. It is a strong black tea that has strong sweetness. The menu calls it malty but I don't know if I would call it malty. It's very good tho. Gardenia Oolong Cold Brew - This is craft oolong tea that is served in glass bottle that usually has 2 or 3 day shelf life. It is not sweet at all. It's power punch iced tea that lets the oolong shine. If you like strong, pure teas, this is definitely a craft tea. I love their tapiochi topping so I will be adding either of their tapiochi flavors to my drinks. I highly recommend this! The lines the first two weeks here were kinda crazy, but it's calmed down. I've been when there was no line outside, and I've also been when there are about 30 people waiting outside. The line moves fairly fast and they come out with samples of their featured tea for that time. The staff is friendly and helpful, they are patient and will answer all your questions about their drinks and you will have questions because they have some funky names for their drinks. This is going to be one of my regular tea rotation spots going forward. You can sit inside but there aren't that many seats. Inside it looks like cross between New Mexico adobes and Tatooine. If you know, you know.
First time here, and the drinks we got were pretty yummy. Walking in, the interior already looks so pretty, loved the vibes. Walked up to the register and the staff was really helpful with making recommendations for me to try. They had samples up front so I was also able to taste one of their milk teas before ordering too. Good spot!
I think I just found my new favorite boba shop! They have a unique yet curated menu of teas and toppings. I ordered the ember milk tea with barley jelly (amazing 100/10) less sweet with no ice and the cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi (also less sweet with no ice). The drinks had perfect milk to tea ratio, and the toppings were the perfect texture, bouncy and tasting fresh. Service was quick and there's a huge parking lot so no issues with parking. Seating is limited and there aren't tables (only stools to place drinks) so this isn't a place to study or work. Pricey but fair especially with most boba places charging $6+ per drink nowadays. Will be back to try their other drinks. Edit: went back to try their Koan Im oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly (no ice less sweet), another hit! Sooo good.
Glad they opened one in OC because it's a damn drive to 626 area. We came during its soft opening and it was hella packed and busy. Line went by pretty quick though like no less than 20 mins. It was pretty hot that day so it was nice of them to give us free samples of the Guan Yong tea to cool down and taste. I ordered their signature Popcorn milk tea and my gf got the Ember milk tea. Both drinks were a 5/5. Despite the milkiness, you can definitely taste the robust flavor of the tea. Just right amount of sugar, milk and tea combined. The interior is super nice. It gives me those Tulum or Cabo vibes. Simple and rustic. The table is just a slab of rock which I think is neat. The menu is displayed by a projector on top. I like everything about this place. Gotta come back again once the traffic dies down a little. Don't wanna gate-keep this, but it deserves it's recognition!

My favorite tea place right now!! So glad there's a location closer to home. My girlfriends and I were always looking for excuses to get to their Diamond Bar location before this. My go to is the jasmine oolong and popcorn milk tea. Both their tea tapiochi and the milk tea themselves has a strong tea flavor. Online ordering also makes it way easier. I do like that they have an employee at the storefront to regulate the amount of people inside the store. Makes it less chaotic and stressful. Torotea is such an experience, I love it so much I even bought their tote lol! 100% recommend!!! read more

I had the Cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and I loved it. I really like the tapiochi texture, doesn't break easily like jello but more like chewy. I'm not a tea enthusiast or anything but I could enjoy a good milk tea and it was really good. I also had the Manor milk tea sample and that was pretty good as well. Will definitely come back to try different ones! Update: I also tried the popcorn milk tea which is on the sweeter side but it was what I expected so it was good. Kinda expensive for a small cup though almost nine bucks. Staffs were really nice and the wait wasn't too long on a Wednesday evening. The inside of the store is very aesthetically pleasing and nice ambiance, though it looks closed from the outside lol. read more
I ordered the Crème Brûlée Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapioca, and it tasted a lot like brown sugar milk boba, but a little more special. I loved the crème brûlée topping. It was thick, creamy, and so good. The tapioca was nice too, perfectly chewy. I'd give the drink a **4.5/5**. The coffee shop has a really cool, minimalistic design. I don't think it's the best place to get work done, though, since there aren't any tables, just chairs. I think the customer service could be a little more welcoming, but other than that, I'd definitely recommend checking it out! read more
The location special here is the best - muscat oolong! But all their drinks are great tbh. The ambiance of the place is very nice but definitely not the best place to sit for awhile. The seats are limited and I think it's purposely not that comfy because it serves more as a waiting area for drinks rather than a sit down and talk with friends kind of thing. Parking is not an issue here, it's located in a pretty big plaza. read more
This spot is very unique. First time going into a matcha spot and the inside is nothing that I seen before. Straight out of the movies. The interior of the matcha spot was surreal and good. I ordered the matcha einspanner. The flavor was good. Had a good balance between sweetness and earthy taste of the matcha. The service was good, they take out order in the front and they had samples of drinks in the front for you to try. Overall I give this place a 4/5 star review. The interior inside the business is unique and definitely worth the try and drive to OC for sure. The matcha is good can't go wrong with ordering the matcha. read more

First time trying Torotea and it did not disappoint! I tried their Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and their Ember Milk Tea with Black Sugar Tapiochi. The tea was SO good. You can taste the quality of the tea in every sip. The Cassia tea offers a creamy malty flavour whereas the ember tea offers a a soothing smoky flavor. The tapiochi topping is super unique as well. It's their signature viral topping that's made fresh every day - half mochi and half tapioca. It's for a soft and stretchy mochi texture. They also have jellies and I can't wait to try these as well. It's also made fresh. When I went, they had osmanthus, barley and passion fruit. The customer service was really good too. We didn't wait too long - around 15/20 mins from waiting in line, ordering and getting our drink. We went a bit before people finished work on a weekday. The interior of Torotea is wabi sabi which is to mimic a serene, meditative sanctuary. It leans completely into the ancient Japanese philosophy of funding profound beauty in nature, simplicity and imperfection. Truly a great spot to visit if you haven't already! As a die-hard Torotea fan, I'm very happy they have an Orange County location and close to me as well. Plenty of parking and inside looks like the other locations. About a 30 minute wait for drinks when I lined up at 1pm on a Sunday, around the door of the optometrist. Thankfully it's in the shade and goes quickly. The exclusive Muscat drinks are very tasty. The Pear Blossom tastes like what a white grape iced tea would taste like and the Muscat Oolong tastes like a sweet oolong jelly. The Osmanthus Pear Blossom was a little too weak and pales in comparison to the famous Osmanthus Citrus. Definitely excited for their grand opening soon. read more

Torotea is definitely a treat! Drink is delicious but pricey. I always get the cassia tea (noncaffeinated) with barley jelly. It is creamy and smooth and has a nice tea flavor. So grateful I won't have to drive to Diamond Bar or SGV, but I probably still won't frequent often due to the price. Because if it's popularity and how they designed this place, it's more of a grab and go place. It's also disappointing that they don't offer a restroom. They do try to get you in and out. I won't knock a star down for that, but just know you'll have to look for a restroom else and that this place isn't a hangout spot, unless you consider the hangout spot as waiting in line. read more
This just might be my new favorite milk tea spot. I ordered three different drinks here and you can taste the flavors of the teas here. I also got their passion fruit jelly, really good. Wish they had more seating as it can get pretty cramped inside. Wish this place was closer to my house. read more
Torotea is finally in Orange County thank GOD!!! no more driving up to La now, we are also blessed in OC with the best tea house. NOT AND AD, this is purely the best tea I've ever tasted. The R&D goes crazy with these drinks and the flavors are out of this world; very iconic and different from other tea houses. They have jelly instead of boba as toppings, different flavors of jelly as well. My favorite drink is the osmanthus citrus refresher with osmanthus jelly. I quality control this with every torotea location and it's the same great flavor every time. 10/10. Torotea always has the best servers and kind staff at every location. They know what to recommend when you're lost and they also advise you on which jelly to choose with which tea. The ambiance is minimalistic with different color themes for each location. The space calls for rest and relaxation, to take a break from the busy every day life. I love this brand and what it stands for, and I hope you try and love it too! read more

I love the decorations of the abstract figurines and lamb sculpture on the inside Line for ordering was fairly quick but fulfilling orders took a while ~8-10 mins and there was not much seating inside for waiting but it was cool and nice not standing outside! Tea was flavorful and had strong aromatic scents. We were given sample of the osmanthus refresher as drink of the day and it was super light and floral. Orders: Koan Im milk tea was not too sweet, perfect balance of tea and milk, not overpowering with creamer and tea was shining through Overall, this torotea location in santa ana is worth going but have to mindful of the spaces inside and there might be a bit wait for line! I have a friend who somehow always knows where the hottest new joints are. She suggested we come here after our lunch date. I wasn't surprised that there was a long line. People in Irvine love waiting in lines for their drinks. It was cool though, there was a friendly young staff member handing out samples for everyone waiting in line. Once you step inside, the interior is unlike any other tea or boba shop. It was like being inside a cave. My friend loved it and snapped a ton of pics lol. The person who took my order was super friendly and patient. I asked for non or low caffeinated options and she was helpful. We picked the barley jelly for the topping and it was a great choice! All of us loved our drinks. The tea flavor was deep but not overpowering and not bitter. The jelly was truly the star though. Super cute place, definitely will come back! PS - came back again with my kiddo. She got the crème brulee. Oh my gosh it's so good. It may be a touch too sweet for me and you can't adjust the sweetness level on that one. read more
I've heard the legends about how great Torotea is from friends, and so I had to try it once a location opened in Santa Ana. I can safely safe that this place lives up to the hype, but with a small catch. This Torotea is located in the corner of the Burlington plaza off Bristol, next to the Round Table. It's very unassuming from the outside as the windows are covered, but is a real vibe once you walk in. There's a handful of seating options inside, but if it's busy (which it is most of the time), plan to take your drinks to go. The staff were all so nice and handed out samples while we waited to order. I got the Uva milk tea w/ brown sugar tapiochi and the Ember Milk Tea w/ Roasted Barley Tea Jelly and both were fantastic. The milk tea has so much flavor and is the perfect amount of sweetness, and the jelly and tapiochi are the best milk tea add-ons I've ever had. This is truly top quality stuff that really took me by surprise. Overall, I absolutely plan to come back and try some of their other drinks. The catch I mentioned earlier is that I absolutely will not wait if there's a line outside (which tends to be the case during peak hours), so I'd plan my trip accordingly to beat the rush. I love Torotea and am so glad they opened one closer to me! The line was so long when we came but it went by really quickly. I love that every Torotea is decorated the same with a stone age vibes or whatever. I am a diehard fan of their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. It is so buttery and just perfect! If I get something else on the menu it's probably not me and I've been taken over by a mysterious entity... read more
Though I might have torotea at home, I might be tempted to make the trek to OC just for the location exclusives. I arrived here on a Friday afternoon and waited in line for a good 30 minutes or so just to try the exclusive drinks, and I am so glad they didn't disappoint. My friend got the muscat oolong tea, 0 sugar & less ice. The muscat flavor was quite strong and fragrant, and the tea was rich and flavorful. I got the muscat passionfruit bloom less sweet & 0 ice with passionfruit jelly. I thought it was a little sweet with the combination of passionfruit jelly, but I came back again to try it with 0 sugar and i thought it was perfect. So happy they opened a location closer to me! As someone who has tried the Diamond bar and Pasadena location I have to say this location is the best! The line was very long as I went around the month it opened. The line did move continuously and the service was extremely helpful. The interior like their other locations very aesthetic and clean. I believe toro tea tastes different than any boba place out there. The flavors are very unique and their brown sugar jelly is just as good as boba. My favorite drink is the Cassia Milk Tea it's a must try! read more
Went here on Sunday during their soft opening still. The line looked pretty long but moved quickly. We were around the pizza place and got inside to order in 15 minutes. We ended up getting our order 15 minutes later, so total 30 minute visit The inside is really well designed and has a nice mood to it. The music didn't quite match the environment, but that's okay whatever works! When we went to order, the service was a bit aloof. This was our first time there and they didn't really guide us through what goes in each drink so she was kinda staring at us waiting for us to say something. They also had free samples to try some tea which was nice. I got the Crème Brûlée Ice Milk with Tapiochi. The tapiochi is definitely yummy and has a fun texture to it. They did include a lot of topping which was nice! This definitely felt more like an indulgent dessert than a refreshing drink, but had more to do with it being a milk/pudding based drink! read more
Finally got to try this spot as I've been seeing it all over social media! I got the popcorn milk tea and jasmine oolong milk tea. Both tasted pretty solid but I'd prefer the jasmine oolong more. The popcorn milk tea was on the sweeter side and a lil too much for my liking. The jelly toppings brought in a new texture. It's like grass jelly but more dense? Very unique taste and I'm glad I got to try it. I ordered online so I didn't need to wait long :) the inside is super aesthetic and you can take lots of cool photos. Torotea is now open in OC! Finally, one of my fave boba spots has an OC location in Santa Ana and I know I will be here often. They are located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a similar aesthetic interior as their other locations but with slightly less seating. I got the Kumquat Oolong Passion Bloom and wifey got the Oojicha Einspanner. Both drinks had very unique flavor profiles and were a nice treat. All of the staff here are super chill and welcoming. Torotea will be seeing my big back a lot more often now! read more
FINALLY a location in OC!! I've been meaning to try torotea but they were always too far. Excited to see one near me & that I got the chance to check them out during pre-opening :') Totally get the hype around their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi! It really does taste like an oolong milk tea with popcorn butter flavor. Their matcha duo einspanner is also surprisingly good!? a bit on the grassier side but still matcha forward. Overall, love how their drinks come less sweetened (around 50% sweet?) Cute tiny space, minimal interior, abundant parking, and the sweetest owner. Congrats on the new space!! read more
Pretty quick service for the amount of orders taken! My friends had always raved about how good the drinks are from the Torotea, so I was super excited when this new location opened up closer to home. I ordered what seemed to be their top seller- the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. The drink/tea itself was alright. To me, the tea just wasn't as flavorful/strong as I expected it to be. I'm not sure if getting it less sweet skewered the tea ratio, but I wasn't too impressed with the drink. I think the best part of the drink was the topping- the brown sugar tapiochi! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll get this drink again because it was mediocre and quite pricey- $8.65 plus $1 tip came out to $9.65! If I get the chance to visit again, I'll probably try a different drink and hope for a better tasting experience! read more
