So happy that this new coffee shop opened at the spectrum! Now yes, this spot is very aesthetically pleasing and trendy, almost to a pretentious amount, but what really matters is if the drinks are good. And they are. So far we've tried the Banana Latte, Strawberry Matcha, and Double Matcha. The fruit flavors stand out but do not overpower the coffee/matcha. They also very clearly use the real thing: you can get bits of strawberry or banana as you sip your drink. If you like your coffee/matcha strong like me, I'd recommend getting another shot. The drinks do fall slightly on the sweet side, but you can easily adjust the sugar level. The food options are slightly lacking. They have variations of avocado toast, but I'm sorry, I cannot justify spending ~$13 on avocado toast when you can easily make that yourself for like a $1. Their other options are pretty decent though, like the egg bites and pesto egg sandwich. Their La La sauce is addicting too. My one biggest tip is to order online ahead of time. Maybe this will die down later on, but while this place is hyped, you WILL have to wait 20+ minutes to get your drinks. Skip the line and order ahead of time!
La La Land has me in a chokehold and I'm not mad about it. Lol I had such a good first impression and experience, that I HAD to stop by again when shopping w/ my mums. Once again, we stopped by in the afternoon during the week, so we lucked out with a minimal line & wait time. I learned from the last time and opt'd for the large-sized strawberry cloud latte (instead of the small) and it was just as heavenly as I remembered. I could totally drink this on the daily. The bright yellow decor & ambiance just makes me smile & happy every time I stop by..it's my total aura color. I'm seriously addicted now, so just take my money, La La Land! Thank goodness it's located within the Spectrum, so the crazy parking situation deters me from coming every day. RxFoodie recommend!!!
La la land is now at the Irvine spectrum. The bright, fun interior is inviting. The yellow cups and the concept is cute. I definitely see why people wouldn't mind waiting for a drink here. I came during soft opening week on a Wednesday. Luckily, the line moved fast, and I only waited for 10 minutes. A worker handed out paper menus and a grand opening promotion paper. The drinks were 50% off, but only if you had the app downloaded. The interior of the store was chaotic. Music was blasting, and people were standing around. There's not a lot of space inside the actual store. The workers were super friendly though. My friend and I ordered 2 drinks each. They also give out pup cups here, which we ordered for our dogs. There's no seating inside, but there are tables and chairs outside that you can sit at. There's a drink pick up counter, where a worker was calling out names. The wait for the drinks did take awhile. I actually didn't hear my name, until another customer came up to me and told me my drinks were ready. Oops! Thank you kind stranger! My friend said her Lululemon chai latte felt a bit watered down. She actually ended mixing the la la latte into her chai latte, which gave it more flavor. The strawberry cloud matcha had more of a milky taste. The matcha wasn't that strong. I enjoyed the carrot cake latte with the spices, but the coffee wasn't that strong. I don't dislike La La Land, since the concept is cute. Workers are friendly and hardworking. However, I do find the drinks overpriced, for the size especially. Also, the drinks are average tasting. Maybe I'll stop by again, if I'm craving an iced coffee if I'm going shopping.
Had a terrible experience at the La La Land at The Grove with a drink that looked like it was mixed with paint (tasted like it too). Wanted to give it another shot since they had a 50% promo ending today only to find out while putting my order in that the system was down so they were no longer honoring it and will bring it back tomorrow. I feel like they should've either still honored it or removed the sign outside for the time being. Anyways, moving on to the drink. Got an Einspanner and WOW!!! It's so incredibly watered down. It was almost like I had ordered the drink three hours ago and just got around to drinking it. I expected it not to be given how small the cup is. All in all, still very disappointed and hoped The Grove was a one off but sadly it was not. Support other matcha places in OC!!! There are sooooo many places that are not watered down.
New cafe alert in Irvine Spectrum!! I arrived around 1:30pm on a Monday afternoon. There was quite a line! I ended up coming back around 2pm and the line was a bit shorter. I did noticed you can get drinks 50% if you sign up using the app. It took me a while to actually order through the app because when I was trying to search for the Irvine location, the map wasn't really loading. It was also a bit slow, which I get since a lot of people were ordering from the app. The wait time was about 20 minutes so I went to Barnes and Noble. I came back 20 minutes later and received my drink. I like how kind the staff are. They even say "we love you" which is cute. I ordered a small perfect matcha latte with less sweetness. I like my matcha not that sweet, which fulfilled that preference! The only thing about there drinks is they're pretty expensive especially for the small cups. I got mine half off but it was supposed to be around $6.70. I'm curious to try their other drinks! Will come back some time in the future :-) edit: I found out the reason my app wasn't working was because my VPN was on. It works fine without it!

There really is something for everyone even if you aren't a huge matcha fan. It was also super aesthetically pleasing with outdoor seating!
Located near Urban outfitters at Irvine Spectrum, I visited on their grand opening day. As expected, there was quite a long wait, but it was understandable given the occasion. I tried "The Queen" Avocado Toast and Truffle Burrata Toast. Unfortunately, both of them were underwhelming. I also ordered a Strawberry Cloud Matcha Latte and Banana Cloud Matcha Latte. Sadly, both drinks were disappointing as it tasted watered down and lacked the rich flavor that I was hoping for. On a positive note, the staff for friendly and welcoming. While there's no indoor seating, there are tables available outside in the front.

Hours: 7am to 9pm (weekdays)/10pm (weekends). This is so nice because you can get your coffee/matcha before going to work. Located by Gap and Urban Outfitters; Dave and Busters was close too. Went during the soft opening and it was organized and as fast as can be. Staff was nice but music was way too loud.... Hard to just order. Happy to try it out for the first time. Carrot cake (my fave dessert) matcha was a great flavor and spices really came through. $8 for a medium is expensive but it's not too bad. There's some tables outside if you're looking to lounge/hangout and eat.
I feel like this cafe might be a victim of overhype. I'm not sure if it was because they had a huge rush when we went, but it was packed, and I think that really affected the drink quality. I ordered the Strawberry Cloud, which is a latte with strawberry cold foam. The idea is definitely there, and the cloud foam itself actually tasted really good, but the coffee missed the mark for me. It lacked flavor and didn't really stand out the way I expected it to. My partner tried the Banana Cloud, and honestly, that one was not good at all. It had this weird metallic taste that made it really hard to enjoy. This is probably the lowest rating I've given a coffee spot, mainly because of the drinks. To me, it didn't really feel like the coffee was the focus. It felt more like the menu was built around matcha and sweeter specialty drinks, while the espresso was kind of an afterthought. Maybe their matcha is better, but the espresso drinks just did not work for me. Overall, I will not be coming back.
First time here!! There was a bit of a wait, so I figured I'd try a few different drinks to see if it was worth coming back and I'm glad I did. Colleen was so kind and gave me a rundown of her favorites, which made the experience feel really welcoming. When it was time to order, Angel helped me out and was a sweetheart. She recommended the French toast matcha, and it was definitely tasty; kind of like drinking matcha with cereal milk. I also tried the banana cloud espresso, which was delicious and a must-try in my opinion. Another standout was the Einspanner latte which was perfect for me since it was strong and not overly sweet. Lastly, I had the matcha squared latte. It was good, but I've had better. Overall, the customer service really stood out. I left feeling a little love-bombed haha.

The menu is straightforward and the drink selection is solid, so with the promo they had and the sunk cost fallacy of waiting, I tried a few options. The espresso latte stood out most as it was more pronounced, with a bold flavor and easily the better of the drinks. The matchas were lighter and slightly watered down. The cloud top adds some uniqueness but carries the drink more than the matcha does. Branding is clearly working for them. The cups, yellow heart straws, and overall aesthetic are well-designed. If you see the yellow cups around, you'll immediately know where it's from. It's not the best matcha in town, but it's a welcome addition to the Spectrum. Once the lines ease up, it'll be worth checking out and I imagine the drinks will improve when they aren't churning hundreds of them one after another.
I was at the Irvine Spectrum yesterday and saw a sign saying La La Land is now open so I went to check it out. Well, the line was super super long and wrapped around to the other side of their building. It took over an hour and a half to get to the top of the line. We had the matcha squared and it was very good. You can really taste the matcha flavor (sometimes I can't really taste at certain tea places).

Let me start off by saying everyone who works here is a gift. They're all so sweet and kind. I love you guys, too. Their coffee is okay. We tried the carrot cake latte and a strawberry cloud. The carrot cake was the better between the two. I feel like the biggest appeal is the aesthetic. The cups are cute, the straws are cute. It's cute! But I also feel it isn't the most environmentally friendly option. Even their water cups were a durable plastic, and most people were throwing them away. In terms of what coffee is available at The Spectrum, I do think it's a better option. read more
heard so many good things about this place that i had to come check it out, however i have to say it really didn't stand out to me in the way i was expecting- i usually like matcha unsweetened to really get the umami flavor profile of the matcha but unfortunately they weren't able to do unsweetened they require a minimum of one pump of their "secret pump" which i did not want.. for the record, it was a total of one hour wait within the time you place your order and receive your order, which if i would've known that i wouldn't have done all that waiting just for that matcha when it was really mid! i can't imagine waiting that long for a drink like this again i do have to admit that yelling "i love you" upon leaving after ordering is cute but is the only positive thing i can really say. i really believe this place needs a better arrangement on how they manage the drinks being received, they start yelling your name across an entire crowd for hours and people going crazy for this coffee and the staff continuously yelling at people to back up which is very unprofessional and not well ran. i've never seen such thing before. it's a genuine crazy crowd for this coffee/matcha and i can't seem to understand why. read more

I'll make this quick (unlike that damn line I waited in) New flash; It's not worth an over hour and half wait. And after the hype settles it's not really worth a 30 minute wait, for me personally. Some of the drinks were pretty good. Nice straws. Yeah. At least the coffee and beverages were half off. In terms of quality and flavor it's no where close to places like Ayer or Airoma. Also, can you believe lalaland isn't originally from LA ? I was flabbergasted to find out they're from Texas. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here! I immediately was enticed by the carrot cake options (which are only available until the end of the month ) but after a quick review of the menu, I became torn between that or the banana cloud! The sweet lady helping direct the lines quickly convinced me to just get both. I mean 2 for the price of 1. It's a steal. (Girl math) I have no regrets whatsoever getting both!!! - The banana cloud definitely lives up to its hype for all of the reasons- it's the perfect balance of a strong cup of coffee, but you really do get the banana and nutty notes in there. A bit caramelly as well. And not overwhelmingly sweet! - The Matcha carrot cake tasted more like a mix of a Matcha latte and chai latte, but I don't hate it. Will definitely come back to get a larger size of the banana cloud the next time I'm here!! Oh and can I just mention everyone here was absolutely lovely? Everyone was all smiles and sooo helpful with my incessant questions. Kade helped me at the checkoutand full on supported me double fisting two drinks- YOU DA BEST!! Tyssssm. FYI (things I found out in line) : Deals all week and through opening day on May 2nd! Then a promo for 50% off mobile orders after that. read more
Checked out La La Land during their soft opening -- drinks were 50% off, which definitely made it worth stopping by. The menu is fun and the drinks looked great, but still working through some opening kinks. Waited for about an hour. Biggest thing... no cup holder, which made juggling everything a little awkward. Overall, solid first impression and I'd come back once they're fully up and running.. read more

Really great lattes and matcha! Staff was super friendly. They were definitely busy (grand opening) but the wait was worth it. This is the third location I've visited and will continue to do so. Can't wait to try their toasts! read more

I visited La La Land on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively packed. Their line system was messy as I didn't know what was the line to order nor to pick up. The way they also distributed the orders could be improved upon because you aren't really able to hear your name being called out. The theme of the cafe is cute and welcoming. Once you leave the cafe to wait for your order they yell out, " I LOVE YOU!" which I thought was a bit tacky but in a fun way. The cups are well designed and the their straws are even in a shape of a heart! Now my drink itself was good, I got the banana cloud latte with espresso and whole milk. The banana was subtle and personally I like my drinks not too sweet. The drink was a little pricey at $7.60 but thats to be expected considering the area. Overall, there is definitely room for improvement but a nice choice if you like presentation and are at the spectrum. read more

La La Land soft opening was unfortunately worth the hype. We got here right when they opened at 7am and there was already a line! Luckily it gave us time to download their app so we could get our half off drinks which was such a good deal. I got the carrot cake latte and my husband got the chai. The coffee was strong and the flavors were spot on, sweet without being artificial. The vibe is also just so friendly! I mean, they say "I love you" as you pick up your drink? Thanks, La La Land, I love you, too! read more
La La Land is here in Irvine! Located in Irvine Spectrum center across D&B. People lined up for this during the opening week. Nest time I would rather order on the app, grab it, and enjoy my favorite drink while I charge my car at the spectrum center. read more

Ordered the kid's Fruit punch, Strawberry Cloud Latte, and Banana Cloud Latte, last two drinks have matcha not espresso and iced. Kids drink was basic, as assumed. Strawberry Cloud latte was good. Banana Cloud Latte with matcha was the star of the show. Price was normal, $6.50-$7.50 per drink for a small size. Starting at the beginning: There was a long line, about a 20 minute wait. It was assumed there would be a wait. The staff did a good job walking a menu sheet out to the customers in the line. The negative is the staff handing out the menus did not answer my question about which drinks were not sweet because he liked sweet drinks. The next staff I spoke with right before walking in did knows and was more well informed about non sweet drinks. Once inside, the ordering process was fast and staff well informed. I asked more questions and they quickly knew the answers. Receiving the drinks after paying took another 23 minutes, as expected because the lines. They have a self service water fountain located outside, tables and chairs in the shade. All in all, I would come back for the Banana Latte Matcha and try a different drink. read more
I was really excited to finally try La La Land. Overall, it was pretty good! I liked the banana flavor in the matcha, and it wasn't overly sweet. The wait for the order was very long though. I went in the morning and while the ordering line wasn't too bad, the wait for drinks after ordering was much longer. You also had to keep walking up to check if your order was ready. If you're in a hurry, be ready to wait for the drink! read more
Came during soft opening week at the spectrum and it was sure a hype.. long wait and slow service hence this review is for their soft opening.. yes they do have a special for 50% off drinks but is it worth the wait? Not so much.. cute and trendy is pretty much what I sum if as.. got their matcha squared and tasted fairly like a regular matcha latte not a double matcha.. also got their French toast salted latte which is their version of a Spanish latte.. good but nothing extraordinary... its good to try but I wouldn't wait more than 10 for it.. I say just go to blk dot for some good tasty and strong coffee in the spectrum read more
Brand new location open this last week, official grand opening on Saturday. Went for their 50% promo and waited 30 mins on a friday morning. Tried their Eispanner with matcha and can say it is velvety & creamy. Matcha is light and sweet but gets lost by all the dairy. Eispanner only comes in the small size, same as a kid cup. For $7, I wouldn't get it, but for 50% I would. We also got the strawberry milk for the kids which is supposedly made with strawberry compote but did not see anything bits or seeds. Tasted fine, but not as refreshing as other locations. It's a cute hip spot with outdoor seating but definitely recommend coming after grand opening since the line wraps around the building. read more

Got the La La Latte and it was a solid 5/10. Tasted like a slightly strong coffee flavored milk! The service was good they were pretty fast considering the insane amount of orders on their grand opening day. I've also tried the matcha during their soft opening and it was just not quite strong enough for me (couldn't taste the matcha). I'll probably stick to the Verve next door The avocado toast was ok. not the best but not the worst. i only got it because it was 50% off but i wouldn't get it again paying full price. read more

Overhyped mediocre drinks. Carrot cake latte: I love carrot cake so decided to give this drink a try; however all I could taste was cinnamon flavored coffee, nothing more. Banana cloud matcha latte: I'm guessing they use underripe bananas because it felt thick & tasted slightly grassy. Upside down latte: literally tastes like any other generic chain-store drink. Only tried it because I was already in the area, otherwise not worth the drive. read more

Ordered the banana matcha...line was long. Waited 50 mins to order and receive my drink. The drink was nothing spectacular. I had better banana matcha. Brew Story in HB is the place to go for a banana matcha If you want to skip the line- download the app for lalaland and pick up when ready. I was informed of that once I got to the front of the line. Save your money and go somewhere else nothing great other than following the trend. read more
I think it's super cute. It's very aesthetically pleasing. I love the cup so much that I kept mine lol and the workers are super sweet. However, I don't understand the hype for these drinks. Came yesterday during their soft opening and of course it was popping. Line was moving at a reasonable pace. From the time we got in line until we got our drinks was about 40 minutes which honestly wasn't as bad compared to others' experiences. Employees were all super nice and helpful. Service is 10/10. Also love their overall branding and aesthetic. Everything is intentional here, down to their cute straws. Is La La Land worth the full price? For me, not so much. I got the Matcha Squared (recommended to me by the employee) along with a few other drinks. The matcha green color that came out wasn't it for me. Even with a double shot of matcha, I personally cannot taste a strong matcha flavor. Even for a small size, it's $7.50 (not including tax) which is a bit appalling to me. Thankfully it was 50% off all drinks for their soft opening. Maybe they need to fine tune their proportions for the Grand Opening, or I maybe should have tried other drinks. Overall, I most likely would not visit La La Land again unless there other promotions going on. Very cute place, but overhyped for me. read more

The kind concept is fantastic. I can see how someone seeking kindness is given a moment of feeling uplifted, until they break bread. With the more recent closure of Toastique I've been seeking a great local morning toast place in proximity of a coffee shop. To my surprise LLL is all in one, and who doesnt love a one stop shop amidst our busy days. Well sadly I and my guest were let down greatly. We frequent many, many places seeking great coffee, exceptional service and top notch ingredients to consume on the daily. The let down came with the feeling as if we were consuming pre packaged ingredients from the syrups to the matcha and the killer for me was the avo toast. See pic attached. It was a literal assault on my gut. The ratio of acids to non acids is a true science experiment of sorts. Aren't we poisoned by food in our society enough? When I walk into an establishment I expect to spend my hard earned money on something healthier than a rush to find antacid pills. This was my first visit and unless there is a great change in food sourcing or more thought given to food prep I doubt I will return. My guest had the MAKA toast and it was also lackluster in freshness bananas were probably a day past ripe and presentation again was a let down. Nowadays people want an experience when they spend their money in an already strained economy. We are taking a moment to recharge amidst the craziness of the world, we need every moment to be worthwhile. "The syrup tastes CHEAP" was the specific feedback from my guest. read more
