As for service, they are friendly, although I was taken back as we asked for a regular three flavor but was given a piccolo size and charged for the regular. The cashier put declined for a receipt and the total price was $18. I noticed this when I asked for a cap for my regular cup and he kept giving me a cap that didn't fit and saw then it was a piccolo (small) that we were given. We couldn't ask for an adjustment as we didn't have a receipt and didn't want to wait back in line. This was our first time so lesson learned. I will be removing a star due to that mishap. I've heard rave reviews from my friends regarding this amazing gelato shop. We actually made it a point to stop here before we headed back to SD. To be honest, I thought, what's the big deal? First of all, I love the concept of flavored lined cups either with or without nuts. There are two flavor coatings to choose from, which are Nutella or Pistachio. Both my favorite flavors. After much deliberation, I chose pistachio with nuts to line the cup. As far as gelato flavors, I got Pistachio and Nutella (of course lol). Super creamy and full of flavor, it's no wonder that my friends rave about this place! There was a line so, unfortunately, I didn't really get to try barely anything since I didn't want to hold up the line. I'll definitely try and go to the location. Now let's talk about the yummy treats. Cinnadoodle: The Cinnadoodle was chewy and soft. It had a cinnamon sugar topping and a hint of nutmeg. If you take it home, I recommend popping it in the microwave for about 10 seconds so it tastes warm and extra soft. Oatmeal Lace with Maple Buttercream: This was my absolute favorite thing. I love me a crispy texture cookie. So this is why it's my favorite. The buttercream filling was delicious, not too sweet. It was balanced. So it isn't overpowering. Pecan Pie Bar: It is a rich, buttery crust topped with a layer of sweet, gooey caramelized pecans. This was also delicious. The texture of the brown sugar and caramelized pecans is a great combination. I did feel it had no balance. It was too sweet, but hey, it was delicious. Lasty, I had the Amici. The amici servers 3 to 4 people. I got fragola super latte - strawberry and sweet cream, tiramisu-double mascarpone and cherry yogurt. All these gelatos were amazingly good. I was only passing by and noticed this shop so I knew I had to go in and try. Perhaps I don't remember it but I was surprised to see a coffee menu plus special menus. Bacio Di Latte is a gelato spot in the Irvine Spectrum. Came here with some friends after dinner on a weeknight. It's light, bright, and modern inside, and smells like freshly baked waffle cones. There are a lot of different cone and cup options to choose from as well as many flavors of gelato. We were given the option to sample some flavors, which is always nice. I ordered a Piccolo Cup with a Pistachio Cream base and Tiramisu gelato. The bases are a unique option and everyone gets a choice of Nutella or Pistachio Cream. The Pistachio Cream is rich and smooth with a strong pistachio flavor. The Tiramisu gelato had a good texture and tasted more like marscapone than coffee. Overall, giving Bacio Di Latte a 4/5. The store is clean with a few tables inside but plenty of tables outside. We were not greeted upon walking in but the staff were patient in giving samples and answering our questions on the flavors. There are a lot of flavors to choose from and it's nice that samples are provided before having to choose a flavor. I sampled 3 or 4 flavors and they were all solid, although some had creamier and smoother textures than others. Prices are pretty high. For 3 Piccolo Cups, it was about $29 not including tip. Ever since my positive, unplanned stop at the Fashion Island location, I've been craving this gelato. How convenient that we now have a Bacio di Latte in Irvine! The shop is bright and cheerful, offering limited but cute seating options inside their comfortably air-conditioned shop (a few 2-person tables with padded chairs parallel to their display case; along the front window, counter-height seating with stylish bar stools that have the proper height ratio on one side; and milk can stools -- my thoughts, too short -- for the taller counter on the other side). Outside seating consists of a few tables right outside the shop, as well as a variety of options throughout the shared common areas. My piccolo size (allowing 2 flavors) was delightfully satisfying; again, I selected their (regular) Pistachio (a favorite -- smooth, creamy, and not too sweet) and Buttercream Pretzel (nice balance of sweet and salty). Given the cost, allowing myself this luxury occasionally is a nice treat (hubby annoyingly notes that the cup's raised bottom reduces its capacity). When it comes to gelato I always have to get one flavor that is similar to Nutella, in this case their Giandujotto (chocolate and hazelnut).
