Stopped by the Spectrum just for my caffeine fix. It was pretty busy, so finding a good corner spot parking in the structure took a little extra time. There was a small line, but the drinks came out quickly. I ordered the VTMatcha, and it was strong, flavorful, and well-balanced. The bold, slightly bitter hickory Vietnamese coffee paired really well with the smooth sweet matcha. Overall I really enjoyed it and would love to come back to try more of their drinks!
Every trip at the Irvine Spectrum is also a treat at Blk Dot Coffee. I love getting the LVTM (Light Vietnamese Coffee) and Iced Chai. Staff are always friendly & even if this place can get really busy, they are pretty quick in making your drinks.
I like my Vietnamese iced coffee to be strong and was definitely not disappointed by this place. The coffee was so flavorful and yummy, I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves vietnamese iced coffee!
Nice coffee shop serving great drinks. They have some small bites as well as merch. The coffee is good quality and made well. Their marketing tries promoting that sleep is overrated, but do not take it seriously since sleep is super important. The staff are very friendly and helpful, willing to modify the drink based on your preference.
Great coffee. Access is easy if you go during off hours. Park by Target for an easy in and out. Good deep flavors, good selection and options. The oat milk latte with 1 pump of any flavor is great. The Blk Tiger is delicious and strong.
First time here and can't wait to come back to try more! Ordered the viet coffee matcha and it was so refreshing. Ive had both before as separate drinks but never combined, so worth it. The staff was friendly and efficient despite the line. Located conveniently in the spectrum so it's a nice pitstop in the middle of a shopping day.

I ordered the Uji matcha latte with almond milk and was honestly so impressed with the strong matcha flavor that I was hoping for. Service was super quick, which made the experience even better. I've had their coffee plenty of times before and always enjoyed it, so I was excited to finally try their matcha. Definitely a go-to if you're craving a solid, flavorful matcha latte!
One of the few places open late for a coffee out in OC. They took orders down to the last minute of closing. Black dot has a nice "work pitstop & quick pick-me-up" vibe. I got matcha & I've had the einspanner's theyre a MUST for a late night or hustling day. Loved it!

I had heard great things about the Yuzu Mango Matcha Latte and wanted to try it for myself. I was pleasantly surprised by the matcha flavor. While it is culinary grade rather than ceremonial, it still had a bright green color, and the taste came through nicely, with just a slight astringency. I appreciated that the matcha itself wasn't sweetened, allowing the yuzu mango to provide the sweetness. The addition of yuzu bits was a nice touch, and the bright, citrusy flavor made the latte feel refreshing and surprisingly well-paired with the matcha. I ordered online and the service was accurate to the time.
I decided to finally give Blk Dot coffee a try after hearing many good reviews about it. Inside the coffee shop is actually pretty small with a few seating options located outside. Luckily when i went there was no line and the cashier and barista were both very friendly. Since it was my first time i was a bit overwhelmed and not sure what to order because they had a variety of different options including Vietnamese coffee, matchas, and classic coffee drinks such as lattes as well. This time i decided to go with their Spanish latte. Overall, the quality of coffee tasted really good and i enjoyed the latte overall. I will say there wasn't anything special or unique and was a little bland flavor wise but it was decent latte. I would like to return to try one of their more unique flavors like a matcha lemonade i saw. Overall i think it's a good spot for a coffee, but it is not my favorite coffee spot in Irvine.
Today was my first time trying Blk Dot and we ended up parking at the Target in Irvine Spectrum and walked over. I haven't been to this side of Irvine Spectrum before but parking was surprisingly easy. This coffee shop was SO busy at 3pm on New Year's Day. The line moved quickly and service was friendly. Drinks came out very shortly after we ordered. I had the Vanilla Maplenut Latte; this drink is really subtle and didn't have a strong flavor at all. I was expecting it to be a little sweeter but I don't think it's something I'd order again. The VTMatcha is a matcha with vietnamese coffee on the bottom. This drink is very unique and has a bold flavor that surprisingly works well together. My boyfriend chose this drink based on how pretty it looked but ended up really enjoying it. There is some outdoor seating available to hang out and enjoy your coffee, but it is not necessarily a location I'd recommend staying at for extended periods of time, simply because of how long the line gets and how crowded it can be.
I know Blk Dot Coffee has been around for a while now and that there have been places like them in the Bay Area (with more opening up), but I still can't believe how Vietnamese coffee is only now becoming more mainstream. Between how coffee obsessed and sleep deprived we all are an how much caffeine packs, it always seemed like a no-brainer that it would catch on, not to mention the fact that it just tastes so good. As belated as it may be, though, I'm just glad that it's become easier than ever for me to get my Vietnamese coffee fix! At any given time, especially on the weekends, it seems like the line for Blk Dot Coffee will reach the door (or even stretch outside), but it's partly due to how popular this place is. Inside, this place is pretty small with just enough room for a small line to order, a display with merch and apparel, and some space for folks to wait for their drinks. Yet, despite its small stature, the menu has an and fairly extensive selection of offerings, from their Vietnamese coffee-based drinks to a mix of tea/matcha and fruit-based options. They also have a decent array of small bites as well, like bagels, toasts, breakfast bowls, and sandwiches, but we've never been hungry enough to try anything. -- VTM EINSPANNER - Vietnamese Coffee Latte, Sweet Foam Top, Cocoa Powder This was so, so good! Not only did it have a nice punch of caffeine to it, but I liked how the bit of sweet foam and coca powder added a touch of creaminess and richness. Plus, wasn't quite as sweet as I feared it would be (though, still sweet as a whole). -- MANGO DELIGHT GREEN TEA - Green Tea, Mango Jam, Chia Seeds, Crystal Boba A bit on the sweet side, but not bad otherwise. While this felt a little syrupy, I did like taste of the green tea and the mango jam. The chia seeds and boba were fine, but I would've been fine without them, too. -- UJI MATCHA EINSPANNER - Uji Culinary Grade Matcha Latte, Cane Syrup, Sweet Foam Top, Cocoa Powder Sadly, now as impressive as the VTM Einspanner, but still not bad. The sweet foam added the same creaminess to this one, but, in this case, there was too much of it, as it really took away from the taste of the matcha itself. -- YUZU MANGO MATCHA LATTE - Uji Culinary Grade Matcha Latte Infused with Yuzu Jam and Mango Cream It's a shame that this seems to be a seasonal drink because it tasted so good! It also helped that the weather was so warm when we had this, but I really liked how well the match, yuzu jam, and mango cream all complemented each other. Delicious! -- ORIGINAL ICED VTM - Signature Slow-Drip Vietnamese Coffee with Blend of House Creamers Not sure what their creamer "blend" consists of (just tasted like regular condensed milk), but this was terrific! Although the first sip was strong and quite sweet, the flavors became a lot more balanced once the ice started to melt. As far as service goes, the workers at the register have always been really friendly, but, for better or worse, nothing else has really stood out (the interactions have always been brief). However, what definitely has stood out are the baristas making the drinks. Watching from the side, it's impressive seeing the sort of organized chaos that was going on - a constant flow of cups/drinks waiting to be made, bottles of milk, syrups, and ingredients that go into all of their different concoctions strewn about, and workers humming along grabbing supplies, making drinks, and calling out orders. If there was one knock about my experiences at Blk Dot Coffee, it'd be that it can take a little while for orders to come out when they're really busy. While it wasn't so bad the first couple of times we were here, it took about 15 mins the third time. With that being said, it's not like the same thing can't happen at a Starbucks on the way to work or at some milk tea joints. Personally, for something as unique and delicious as Blk Dot Coffee's VTM Einspanner, I'm more than happy to wait! read more

Love this spot for a coffee and hearty breakfast bowl. The light Vietnamese coffee iced is by far my favorite as the normal is a bit too sweet for me. The breakfast bowl has so much flavor and large portions. Great way to start the day around Irvine. read more

- BLK Dot - One of my favorite spots in OC for a strong drink. This particular location is at the Irvine Spectrum, near the Apple Store & Target. I've tried so many variations of their drinks & have never been disappointed! Love their matcha for an afternoon pick me up & the VTM is my morning go to. They also offer breakfast/pastries. Their prices are fair & customer service and quality of beverages 10/10! read more

Service is quick. Store is nice and clean. There is a bit of outside seating, but since it's at spectrum you can sit pretty much anywhere. Coffee is strong especially the Vietnamese coffees. I've taken a pic of my regular order :) read more

I had a pretty frustrating experience here. They start closing the patio area at 9pm even though the store closes at 10pm, which feels way too early and unnecessary--especially when there were still three employees working. What really bothered me was being interrupted mid-order at the self-service kiosk so they could block it off with chairs. I was literally in the middle of placing my order and had to stop and move because they decided to shut things down early. If your posted hours say you're open until 10, customers should be able to use the space and order without being rushed or pushed out early. This just felt inconvenient and poorly handled. read more
Since Marketplace is closed, I visit here when I'm in the area, only if you are going to the Spectrum. Otherwise you have to fight for parking. I'm a fan of the seasonal peppermint lite vtm or mint Serrano. This time my sister told me I had to try the yuzu mango matcha even though I'm not a matcha fan. The cashier even let me have a little sample first which was very nice. I decided to get it on the trip and I have to say I'm a fan. But it could be more about the mango syrup :p. Overall a cute little coffee shop. Waiting for the one closer to me to open up. read more

Great coffee! We came here three times during our vacation. Service is as expected. Not much of a social hangout coffee shop, better for take out. My only notes would be that there is a lot of ice in the iced coffees, more than you typically get other places, and it makes the amount of coffee you get feel kind of like a rip off. Also, the amount of coffee you get isn't consistent. Some times it is pretty full, and other times the cup is not full. For example, we got large coffees on our third visit since the amount of ice in the regulars made it feel like we were barely getting any coffee, but the cups weren't full. As if they had accidentally made regulars and then dumped it into a large cup and just added more ice. Overall, the coffee is so good that we will return, but either ask for light ice or get a bigger size to avoid disappointment. read more
If you want something other than your usual popular coffee chain you have to try this place out! They are busy and I can see why because of the quality of their coffee. We opted for the iced caramel macchiato which was refreshing and creamy. It had just the right amount of sweetness. We also tried the hot mocha, it was just ok. I feel the iced version would had been better. It's not that big inside so you can snag a seat right out front or the benches under the shade by the stores. I wish there was a BLK Dot coffee in the Bay! read more
Always delicious. Coffee is strong and very yummy. Lychee peach black tea is sweet and very refreshing with fun texture. Pretty quick service. Since it's in spectrum people are always in and out. Not much seating. I wouldn't study/work in this location but drinks are great. read more
This is located at the Spectrum next to Target. I always order their yuzu mango matcha it's such a unique blend of flavors. The staff here is friendly and the drink came out fast. There's no seating inside but there is some tables outside. read more

Yall. You gotta order in advance here. Even if you get here really early before the stores at the Spectrum is even open it is always crowded and line moves slow. Nevertheless, I cannot resist Blk Dot. My sister loves it too every time she's in town she asks me to go get their Brekky Bowl and of course I had to indulge her. On this most recent trip, I tried something new. I was not feeling my usual go to (the LVTM) and wanted something a little lighter so I tried the Sea Salt Foam Jasmine Green tea and it was delightful! I've never had tea with foam before but this was refreshing yet creamy, with just a bit of edge from the salt. I think I've found a new go to when I'm caffeine-d out. read more
I stopped by here to get some hot tea. I was going to get the Thai Tea, but the cashier kindly informed me that the tea order couldn't be unsweetened due to the creamer. Instead, I got the Uji Matcha latte - no additional toppings like the lychee jelly or boba which were an additional $1. The baristas were very friendly, but we did go on a Sunday around 3 PM so it was extremely busy. They have the option of ordering online which would be ready in 15-20 minutes but we decided to just order in line. It was pretty crowded so it's not a sit down type of ambiance. If waiting inside, would recommend some crowd guidance since it was hard to stand and navigate to get to your drink. The Uji Matcha was tasty and the Matcha flavor was strong and creamy. I got my drink unsweetened, but there was still a slight sweetness to it. Parking at Irvine Spectrum is always tough but at least it's free! read more

We tried the one in Orange and that had a seating area but not this one inside the Irvine Spectrum. We just finished dinner at Little Sister (delicious) and wanted coffee to go and found this place. Service - good Drinks - SeaSalt Jasmine tea (recommended by barista) actually good with the sea salt foam on top. I tried the foam before shaking and mixing and actually good Hot Spanish latte - good and did the trick in keeping me awake on my 80 mile drive home They use good beans, I can tell (we roast our own coffee at home) compared to the ubiquitous Sbux so spend a little and try this coffee and enjoy your cup of joe ! read more
Okay I know there's always a line here... don't worry it's completely worth it, some of the best tasting matcha drinks I've ever had in the area!! And of course their other items on the menu are an absolute delight, just about anything that says vtm is amazing, or be bold and get some salted cream foam atop a latte. They've got great service and are always going to give good recommendations based on your needs, there is no inside seating however it's very modern looking and the outdoor seating is very small. Definitely a place to get your drink and food and walk around! read more

Why can't you guys fill the cup all the way for viet coffee when we request ez ice? Is there a viet coffee traditional rule?
Ice is a part of the recipe, so when requesting less ice there is an inch of room at the top because they don't alter the recipe any further. However, if you wanted to top it off, you can ask for the additional pour which is a small fee of $1.30...…
Any gluten free pastries or bagels or breads?
No, but they have delicious egg and avocado toast you could ask for no bread Also, a gluten free nut bar and kombucha bottled…
