Drove by and stumbled upon this tea shop and decided to give them a try. We agreed that their products have a distinctive flavor here. We liked it. We appreciate a different experience when grabbing some milk tea and such. We also enjoyed their taro milk tea and agreed that their boba was quite delicious. Will be back next time we are in this shopping center!
Great teas! Our orders came out perfect as we did customize the sweetness level and ice level. The pistachio custard dessert was so delicious, I wish I got my own (but shared it with hubby...). Service was friendly. Will be back when we're in the area again!
I've had my eye on Eightfold Tea Shoppe for so long, but they're a little bit out of the way for me so it took a while for me to get here. The photos of their product looks alluring, so I was hoping the presentation would correlate to quality products. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. They were out of all of the items I intended to try. No custard, no choux cream, no anything with matcha. And I heard them tell the guest after me matcha won't be available until maybe next week, so it isn't just a one night inventory issue. The cashier was sweet so I didn't want to give her a hard time so I ordered a Black Sesame Macaron ($4,25) and a Purple Taro Swirl ($6.80) 50% sweet. The black sesame macaron was hard. Allegedly it was just same on the same day but the maracon was both hard on the edges and interior. It should be a hard shell but with a chewy interior. And the buttercream filling was even hard. So unsatisfied for a crazy overpriced macaron. And I had to wait forever for the purple taro swirl. I get blending and hitting, and I saw the staff struggle to get the drink out into the cup, go back to the back to keep blending. I went from having an hour to kill to actually worrying that I'll be running late. The anticipation did not pay off cause I didn't like the drink. It was still a tad too sweet at 50% sweetness. And instead of tasting like taro, it tasted like coconut milk. Ugh I hate coconut milk in my drinks. I threw away more than 75% of the drink cause the sugar wasn't worth it to me. They have a stampcard but I don't plan on coming back. Given they were out of everything I actually wanted, and the things I actually tried sucked. I'm not coming back. It's way too inconvenient to come here to be disappointed. Staff was nice so I'm giving them a 3 star but how I feel about their products that I tried is at a 2 star.
super yummy!! lady working was super nice and answered all my questions! i ended up going with the brown sugar milk tea latte. my only con is the straw isn't quite long enough for my liking. it reaches the bottom but barely so it was kind of hard to get all the boba out and i ended up finishing all the milk before getting all the boba out.

I got the mango matcha and double green matcha drinks half sweet and they were alright. I do wish the matcha flavor was stronger. I like that there were mango bits in the mango puree, makes it seem fresh. I also like the honeydew flavor in the double matcha and the matcha pudding topping, I hadn't seen that combination before and enjoyed it. Drinks were made quickly. The shop had a cute vibe with seating indoors to hang out and chat over a cup of boba.
It's a small boba shop, but wow is their menu interesting! I stopped by here with a friend after lunch at a nearby ramen shop and grab their kiwi mojito mainly because it was labelled as non-caffeinated. I'd never seen any boba shops serve that, so I was excited to try something different. I'm glad I did because it actually was super good! It was refreshing, sweet, tart, and fizzy! Think like a kiwi soda with kiwi bits floating around. I adjusted my sweetness to 50% which was perfect because 100% definitely would have been too sweet for me. There was only one person working when we came, but she was super sweet and the drinks came out within 5-10 minutes. It looks like there are also some card/board games for people to play. There are a few seating options so it's probably good for hanging out with 1-3 friends. Super glad my friend recommended this spot.

I came in here to grab a drink since I was waiting around in the area. After looking at the menu on Yelp, I decided to get the Marbled Strawberry with boba, which is also on their best sellers list. I love strawberry and this drink was a delicious blend of strawberry and milk. The restaurant itself is quick small, so it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. The OC area has plenty of boba spots to choose from, so I was happy to give them a try and it turned out to be a good pick!

This spot is located in the same plaza where Target and Sprouts is but tucked more in the corner where the other small businesses are where there are a decent amount of parking spots. Inside, they about 3 tables for seating. They have an extensive menu with fruit teas, milk teas, matcha, coffee, and even a bakery section with Japanese cheesecakes! I opted for the pineapple paradise and could see them making it right in front of me with fresh fruit! The drinks here are refreshing and they have a cozy aesthetic! The staff here are very friendly and welcoming.
It's rare for me to strongly dislike a bubble tea spot, but unfortunately, this place gave me a bad experience and really disappointed me. I ordered online for pickup through Yelp, and when I arrived, the staff informed me they had no access to the online ordering system. While I don't blame the staff for this issue, the person I spoke with was neither helpful nor knowledgeable about how to resolve it. I had to call Grubhub to sort out the problem, and luckily, their customer service was helpful. Despite the online ordering mishap, I decided to try their signature milk tea with boba. The cup had an odd parchment-like paper sealing it, with a plastic lid on top. When I took my first sip, I had to resist the urge to spit it out because the flavor was so unexpected. I was expecting a milky black tea with a hint of brown sugar, but instead, I got a weird minty flavor with an unpleasantly bitter aftertaste. Whatever tea was used in their signature milk tea was not a black tea I'm familiar with, and this is coming from a tea lover. Unfortunately, by the time I tried the drink, I had already left the area, so it wasn't worth it to return. I definitely won't be coming back to this bubble tea shop.
This is a cute little shoppe in Costa Mesa. Inside is homey, with a number of wooden bistro style tables, clean lines and a modern decor. The woman behind the counter was very nice and made our drinks look beautiful and tasted really good. We got the dirty brown sugar latte and the double green. My fav was the dirty brown sugar latte, visually looked so nice and tasted great. I don't believe there is outdoor seating, not enough space. A few spots to park right in front, otherwise a hide parking lot is connected as well, so parking won't be an issue. I always like trying new places and I recommend you also try Eightfold Tea Shoppe. Eightfold is a boba tea place in Costa Mesa. There is a Target in the same shopping center, so you can go there before or after. I tried the strawberry mojito with crystal boba and lychee jelly for an additional 80 cents per topping. I also got the blueberry mojito, and the tropical sunset drinks. All of the drinks were very good and you could taste the freshness. The cashier took his time making the drinks. This place is unique as they offer MOJITO drinks, which are refreshing. They also have milk teas, loose leaf tea, cheese cream, swirl, fruit tea, matcha, and coffee drinks as well. I would like to try their matcha, milk teas, and other fruit teas in the future. They also have a variety of macarons, a few choux cream. I did not see the Japanese cheesecake or custard options, but I would try the custard in the future. The macarons did not look that appealing. Tried Eightfold Tea Shoppe for the first time and wasn't a big fan. The best thing about this place is their customer service, the staff was nice and friendly. Seating is very cute inside and has a few tables to sit at. Parking is free in the lot in front of the bob shop. The drink that I ordered was the pink matcha (which is their version of a strawberry matcha). It was way too sweet and I usually like sweet things but this was too much. The strawberry part has a jam texture. The cup comes with a hanging kleenex thing that gets in the way when drinking the drink. read more

I really wanted to like this place and heard so much about it. It stuck out the most in comparison to all of the other boba places nearby. We got the: 1) Double Green: -It's a mix of a honeydew and matcha drink with matcha pudding and condensed milk. There's also boba. It's a VERY green drink. -Not bad. Starts off with a very, very sweet honeydew flavor before ending with the earthy, slightly bitter tones of matcha. Not the best balance, but unique for sure. The addition of the boba and pudding makes it even denser with the matcha though so keep that in mind that this is more of a dessert/snack drink 2) Salted Caramel: -This was non-caffeinated and came with boba and egg pudding. -Despite being only a little less sweet this honestly tasted like a watered down milk tea with some caramel drizzled in. Once again mostly toppings so more of a meal than a drink. I'd expect something like this from a cheaper franchise than from somewhere like 8 Fold in terms of quality. 3) 8 Fold Signature Milk Tea: -This is their signature milk tea with whipped cheese cream. This was also pretty disappointing sadly, especially since it's their signature drink. It honestly just tasted like the base of the salted caramel drink but more heavily flavored by the cheese cream, yet also pretty watered down. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things or because I ordered within the last hour of their closing. read more

My first time coming here and it may be the last. I got the marbled strawberry drink and deep matcha drink. The marbled strawberry tastes like strawberry milk on a slightly tart side- it was nothing special. Also, there wasn't a lot of strawberry in the drink. If you look at the photo on the menu compared to what I actually got, my drink was barely "marbled". The deep matcha drink was super disappointing. It was bland and the matcha itself was powdery and gritty. I didn't like it at all. The boba did not taste fresh- it was hard. The parking lot is in a shared plaza with many other shops but I found parking easily. read more
I hate writing bad reviews, but this was disappointing. I was in the plaza and decided to try out this place after dinner on a Friday night. Upon entering, you can smell heavy bleach, which is not exactly the most pleasant. There was only one customer waiting for a drink and no one in line, but there was only one girl working by herself. We stood there for a bit and thought she would acknowledge us and at least tell us to give her a moment, but she didn't say anything. She finally came over after finishing making a drink, and we ordered a deep matcha and strawberry matcha with matcha pudding (originally wanted raspberry matcha but the girl didn't seem to understand and said something about strawberry?). There are a few tables, and they had some games like Uno for guests to play. Service was really slow, but we finally got our drinks. The deep matcha comes with matcha pudding and boba. The matcha is alright but the boba is horrible. It was hard and not QQ, and it did not taste fresh. Unfortunately will not be returning. I would say that the inside of the shop is cute and it's nice that they have Jenga and Uno for customers to play with. The drinks however we were not a fan of. They also somehow didn't have anymore napkins. Don't have to worry about parking because it is in a place with a big parking lot. I got the taro milk tea and it tasted more like soap than taro. My friend got the wintermelon milk tea and she got it at 100% sweet but it wasn't sweet and tasted a little watered down. Our other friend got the brown sugar milk and that was the best drink. I'm guessing it's because it was just milk and brown sugar so you can't really mess that up. read more
I've been wanting to try eightfold tea shoppe for a while now and finally got the chance! Unfortunately they were out of the strawberry marble so I settled for the double green. Overall I really enjoyed it as the matcha and honeydew flavors compliment each other very well. It almost tastes like a melona! Their noble fruit tea was decent but I feel like I've had better fruit teas before. They allow 10% off if you show your student ID or 1 free topping if you check in on Yelp. Unfortunately you can only choose one or the other since the lady told us they don't stack coupons which is disappointing. Nonetheless, I got my drink for under $6 so I was happy about it. I come to the area a lot but never seen this boba place before. My friend and I decided to give it a try. I got strawberry milk with boba, he got a raspberry matcha with boba and a milk tea with boba. All the drinks were tasty. I will say that the staff doesnt really communicate with you.... The shop is super cute, but small. Definitely worth a try. The boba tasted floral. not too sure why but it was so nice and paired well with the strawberry milk. read more
A new boba shop in Costa Mesa!! Super hyped and popular right now!! They have their signature cheese cream foam milk tea which is to die for. So good. It comes with boba. Get extra boba on that -- the boba balls are chewy and soft :) I also love the mango smoothie and the DEEP MATCHA. Must get!! Overall very good quality boba teas and smoothies here. They also have board games and Jenga so it's a great place to just hang out or chill with friends! Good for pick up and to go as well. Would definitely recommend! read more

I find this boba shop very quaint and welcoming as the staff are friendly to help. The new owner is also very nice and friendly in introducing drinks, and especially the desserts as the owner makes it themselves from scratch every day. I go to OCC college and come here all the time, especially during finals to study have a drink, and indulge myself in some sweets. read more
When we walked in, there was only one staff named Nancy working near closing. She was friendly and was patient while we ordered and helped us decide on drinks. The interior was small but had enough seating for everyone. There were pretty flowers inside and would look nice as a backdrop for pics. Super yummy drinks. I got the Orange Peach Tea with Honey Boba and it was really good. The orange was not overpowering and you can taste both orange and peach. It had real orange chunks inside. The boba was fresh, sweet, and chewy. The Matcha Choux Cream (with boba on top) is soft and fluffy and has matcha cream on the inside. Would come again to try the different drinks and desserts! read more

No. Matcha pudding does not contain egg, but we are currently out of matcha pudding, it may back next week

Depends on the drink you get, I think. I had a raspberry matcha latte and I think the lowest they had for that was 25% sweetness, bc of the raspberry purée. That would probably be applied to other similar drinks
Do you offer soy/almond/oat/coconut milk as an alternative to the nondairy creamer?
They do not have almond milk. The other answer posted is incorrect. They only have soy milk.
Lactose free options?
For now, they use just non-dairy creamer and Soymilk. They are working on making an Oatmilk.
Is this place a good place to study?
It could be! They have WiFi! There are only 5 tables with 2 outlets - 1 next to table near door and 1 in the middle of the store next to tables.
