This is a cute little shoppe in Costa Mesa. Inside is homey, with a number of wooden bistro style tables, clean lines and a modern decor. The woman behind the counter was very nice and made our drinks look beautiful and tasted really good. We got the dirty brown sugar latte and the double green. My fav was the dirty brown sugar latte, visually looked so nice and tasted great. I don't believe there is outdoor seating, not enough space. A few spots to park right in front, otherwise a hide parking lot is connected as well, so parking won't be an issue. I always like trying new places and I recommend you also try Eightfold Tea Shoppe. I tried the strawberry mojito with crystal boba and lychee jelly for an additional 80 cents per topping. I also got the blueberry mojito, and the tropical sunset drinks. All of the drinks were very good and you could taste the freshness. The cashier took his time making the drinks. This place is unique as they offer MOJITO drinks, which are refreshing. They also have milk teas, loose leaf tea, cheese cream, swirl, fruit tea, matcha, and coffee drinks as well. I would like to try their matcha, milk teas, and other fruit teas in the future. They also have a variety of macarons, a few choux cream. I did not see the Japanese cheesecake or custard options, but I would try the custard in the future. The macarons did not look that appealing. I've had my eye on Eightfold Tea Shoppe for so long, but they're a little bit out of the way for me so it took a while for me to get here. The photos of their product looks alluring, so I was hoping the presentation would correlate to quality products. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. They were out of all of the items I intended to try. No custard, no choux cream, no anything with matcha. And I heard them tell the guest after me matcha won't be available until maybe next week, so it isn't just a one night inventory issue. The cashier was sweet so I didn't want to give her a hard time so I ordered a Black Sesame Macaron ($4,25) and a Purple Taro Swirl ($6.80) 50% sweet. The black sesame macaron was hard. Allegedly it was just same on the same day but the maracon was both hard on the edges and interior. It should be a hard shell but with a chewy interior. And the buttercream filling was even hard. So unsatisfied for a crazy overpriced macaron. And I had to wait forever for the purple taro swirl. I get blending and hitting, and I saw the staff struggle to get the drink out into the cup, go back to the back to keep blending. I went from having an hour to kill to actually worrying that I'll be running late. The anticipation did not pay off cause I didn't like the drink. It was still a tad too sweet at 50% sweetness. And instead of tasting like taro, it tasted like coconut milk. Ugh I hate coconut milk in my drinks. I threw away more than 75% of the drink cause the sugar wasn't worth it to me. They have a stampcard but I don't plan on coming back. Given they were out of everything I actually wanted, and the things I actually tried sucked. I'm not coming back. It's way too inconvenient to come here to be disappointed. Staff was nice so I'm giving them a 3 star but how I feel about their products that I tried is at a 2 star. read more

I like that there were mango bits in the mango puree, makes it seem fresh. I stopped by here with a friend after lunch at a nearby ramen shop and grab their kiwi mojito mainly because it was labelled as non-caffeinated. I'd never seen any boba shops serve that, so I was excited to try something different. I'm glad I did because it actually was super good! It was refreshing, sweet, tart, and fizzy! Think like a kiwi soda with kiwi bits floating around. I adjusted my sweetness to 50% which was perfect because 100% definitely would have been too sweet for me. There was only one person working when we came, but she was super sweet and the drinks came out within 5-10 minutes. It looks like there are also some card/board games for people to play. this place is pretty good! I come here pretty often & would say it's my go to boba spot now. My go-tos are the Jasmine Crema and the strawberry matcha and the oreo blended drink. I always get 25% for all the drinks because they are pretty sweet with standard. The desserts they have are surprisingly really good too! I've tried their macarons & the choux. Both are really good are relatively cheap. I have yet to try their custard which also looks tasty. The drinks are pretty consistent and both their drinks and desserts are always so pretty looking! The location is pretty cute inside and service is always nice. Usually only have one person working though which seems stressful sometimes for them LOL. Overall i enjoy this place! It's rare for me to strongly dislike a bubble tea spot, but unfortunately, this place gave me a bad experience and really disappointed me. I ordered online for pickup through Yelp, and when I arrived, the staff informed me they had no access to the online ordering system. While I don't blame the staff for this issue, the person I spoke with was neither helpful nor knowledgeable about how to resolve it. I had to call Grubhub to sort out the problem, and luckily, their customer service was helpful. Despite the online ordering mishap, I decided to try their signature milk tea with boba. The cup had an odd parchment-like paper sealing it, with a plastic lid on top. When I took my first sip, I had to resist the urge to spit it out because the flavor was so unexpected. I was expecting a milky black tea with a hint of brown sugar, but instead, I got a weird minty flavor with an unpleasantly bitter aftertaste. Whatever tea was used in their signature milk tea was not a black tea I'm familiar with, and this is coming from a tea lover. Tried Eightfold Tea Shoppe for the first time and wasn't a big fan. The best thing about this place is their customer service, the staff was nice and friendly. Seating is very cute inside and has a few tables to sit at. Parking is free in the lot in front of the bob shop. The drink that I ordered was the pink matcha (which is their version of a strawberry matcha). It was way too sweet and I usually like sweet things but this was too much. I really wanted to like this place and heard so much about it. It stuck out the most in comparison to all of the other boba places nearby. We got the: 1) Double Green: -It's a mix of a honeydew and matcha drink with matcha pudding and condensed milk. There's also boba. It's a VERY green drink. -Not bad. Starts off with a very, very sweet honeydew flavor before ending with the earthy, slightly bitter tones of matcha. Not the best balance, but unique for sure. The addition of the boba and pudding makes it even denser with the matcha though so keep that in mind that this is more of a dessert/snack drink 2) Salted Caramel: -This was non-caffeinated and came with boba and egg pudding. -Despite being only a little less sweet this honestly tasted like a watered down milk tea with some caramel drizzled in. Once again mostly toppings so more of a meal than a drink. I'd expect something like this from a cheaper franchise than from somewhere like 8 Fold in terms of quality. 3) 8 Fold Signature Milk Tea: -This is their signature milk tea with whipped cheese cream. This was also pretty disappointing sadly, especially since it's their signature drink. It honestly just tasted like the base of the salted caramel drink but more heavily flavored by the cheese cream, yet also pretty watered down. I hate writing bad reviews, but this was disappointing. I was in the plaza and decided to try out this place after dinner on a Friday night. Upon entering, you can smell heavy bleach, which is not exactly the most pleasant. There was only one customer waiting for a drink and no one in line, but there was only one girl working by herself. We stood there for a bit and thought she would acknowledge us and at least tell us to give her a moment, but she didn't say anything. She finally came over after finishing making a drink, and we ordered a deep matcha and strawberry matcha with matcha pudding (originally wanted raspberry matcha but the girl didn't seem to understand and said something about strawberry?). There are a few tables, and they had some games like Uno for guests to play. Service was really slow, but we finally got our drinks. The deep matcha comes with matcha pudding and boba. They also somehow didn't have anymore napkins. Don't have to worry about parking because it is in a place with a big parking lot. I got the taro milk tea and it tasted more like soap than taro. When we walked in, there was only one staff named Nancy working near closing. She was friendly and was patient while we ordered and helped us decide on drinks. The interior was small but had enough seating for everyone. There were pretty flowers inside and would look nice as a backdrop for pics. Super yummy drinks.
