    Wagyu Smash Burger
    Rochelle M.

The Kroft was a surprising find after we left Los Feliz Flea Market. The husband and daughter were really hungry -- it was only 5 minutes away! Designated retail parking is available at the structure with the apartments off Broadway. The QR code with instructions for 2 hour validation are posted all over. We were lucky to get the place empty at 4pm (almost every table was taken after we ordered). We were able to take our time to look over the menu. The nice young lady at the register let us know that a few items were not available. Our daughter was disappointed to have missed the Birria. :( Our order -- Wagyu Smash Burger, Wagyu Spicy Jack Smash Burger, Porchetta and the Loco Moco Poutine Fries. Everything was incredibly tasty....but that Porchetta was deeeeelicious!! Honestly the best sandwich I've ever had. I'm going to keep coming back for that! My husband couldn't stop eating the poutine fries -- he's now determined to try them all. We'll be back soon!

The Kroft is located on the lower level of a block of apartment buildings, and better yet - parking is free (which is hard to come by in Chinatown/DTLA, as most know). As for the restaurant itself, the location is airy and spacious. The best part is the food, however - I ordered the porchetta sandwich, and savored every morsel of it. The crispiness and flavor were out of this world. I'm a sucker for cheese curds, and would've ordered those as well, but they were out at the time I visited. Next time!

I've been on a burger kick for the last few years or so. I read fellow Yelper, Mel D's review a while back raving about their burger. I'm familiar with The Kroft since their original location at Anaheim Packing District was one of the few places to get poutine about 10+ years ago. It's cool to see them venture out towards LA. Just happened to be in the area so, I figured to give it a try. Located in the Jia Apts in Chinatown, The Kroft is located on the southeastern edge a bit closer to Olvera Street. This area doesn't get a lot of foot traffic but it is walking distance from the infamous Far East Plaza. Back to the burger, it ranks up there in smash burgers, however, doesn't get much attention. The double wagyu cheese burger is solid. Great quality beef flavor and perfectly seasoned. Served with perfectly melted American cheese, grilled onions and secret sauce. For under $11, this burger is a steal. It's quite larger than the likes of the other smash burger competitors that leaves you unsatisfied. This burger leaves you happy. I ordered a combo with choice of fries. I opted for garlic fries which was perfectly fried and tossed in garlic. The vibe here is kinda empty but the kitchen appeared to be busy with to go orders. I'll have to come out again to have their porchetta sandwich which I did try at their original location years ago. The Kroft is worth a try.

By far one of the best chains ever! The burgers are on point, they have one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the game. And recently I tried their chicken parm and Cuban which were both bursting with flavor. Everything is carefully thought out. Try anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. That's how good they are. I've even gotten the wrong order (DoorDashs fault) and I was still happy with what I got. Great customer service and there's ample room for eating.

I had the Kroft over this past weekend, but didn't dine in. I opted out for delivery! The kroft has been on my must try sandwich spots for a while now & even though I ordered for delivery it didn't disappoint. I ordered the Cheesesteak 10/10. Probs my favorite sandwich as of late. The truffle fries on the other hand were alright 6/10. It wasn't crispy, it was soggy, but I think it's also because I had it delivered so I didn't expect too much out of it. My husband had their Chicken Parm. He's a big Marinara fan so he enjoyed that 8/10. Their Wagyu smash burger sounds delicious I think I'll try that next. I'm looking forward to that.

My family and I had a great experience from the moment we walked in. The cashier was friendly and even let my curious son sample the drinks at the counter. We ordered the following items: the Wagyu Smash Burger, Wagyu Spicy Jack Smash Burger, French fries, and jalapeño coleslaw. The food was fresh and full of flavor. Honestly, everything was delicious. We also tried their fresh lemonade, which was unique. Both the food and service were amazing! I highly recommend checking them out when you're in town--there are plenty of things to do in the area. We visited on a Saturday night, and finding parking in the structure adjacent to the building was a bit challenging.

I love the food here! Definitely a very underrated place as I was surprised to see how empty it was on a Saturday afternoon. The portions are so big and definitely worth the price. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich and my boyfriend tried the Double Wagyu Smash Burger. It was definitely one of the best Chicken Parms I've ever had. The chicken was thick and juicy with a thin panko crust coat! You can tell they use real chicken! It also comes with a generous amount of marinara sauce and cheese, which I really appreciated. The Double Wagyu Smash Burger was decent, but nothing extraordinary. It was so filling for the both of us, and I loved the soft, toasted Brioche bun that they use. The wait time for the food was around 10 minutes. Because their establishment has an open kitchen, it is EXTREMELY LOUD inside. It was somewhat difficult to have a conversation because of how noisy the kitchen was. Overall, the food quality is good and so worth the price!

It has closed!! NOOOO!!! Honestly, the Kroft was one of the first restaurants I tried in 2025, & I was looking for something in the likes of American and Soul Food -- this place was the right combination of it. I wasn't too fond of the concept of comfort food initially, but this place did a fantastic job at convincing me otherwise. Packed with burgers, cheese, & all that good stuff, I am sure any one who followed is sad to see them go. However, they are still open in Anaheim Packing House!!! :)

The perfect place to get the heaviest, most decadent lunch that will leave you in a coma for hours. The quality of the food is solid! The Cubano is a 10/10. Unbelievable balance of flavors. The perfect Cubano is smashed so thin the ingredients melt together yet you can pick out each part of it. Would try this again for sure. The fried cheese curds were fine. A little on the bland side surprisingly. Doesn't seem like the breadcrumbs were seasoned. Poutine fries were fine. Nothing else really stood out here.

Hard not to love this place. Stringy cheese, decadent toppings over hot crispy fries? It's the perfect comfort meal or ultimate after drinks meal. The wait is never too long and it's never too crowded, although the space has few seats. Egg on top is a must as well.

Came here for a yelp event so I was hyped to return. I ordered the two piece birria egg roll with dipping gravy and it was very good. Definitely a lot of beef. Actually only beef which was a little disappointing, but it still tasted good. I highly recommend dipping your egg roll into the dipping gravy. I HATED my jalapeno coleslaw!! I swear, there was mostly jalapeno in it!! I set it aside because it got way to hot to eat. After I pushed all the jalapeno aside, there literally was nothing left except some red onion. Very disappointing. Would I come back? Sure, but definitely not ordering the coleslaw again. Service was good. Free parking in the structure.

I have dined here on multiple occasions and consistently found the food to satisfy my cravings. Parking is readily available in the rear lot. Its location in Chinatown offers convenient access to numerous restaurants and tourist attractions. The site's proximity to the freeway ensures easy access, and the service is consistently satisfactory.

Chicken Parm sandwich and chicken sandwich, birria egg rolls and Mac and cheese. Pretty mid. Nothing special
    Eric N.

Chicken was kinda over cooked And stringy. The breading had no seasoning to give it an edge. Service was good and nice. That's a one and done. The Mac and cheese was decent and creamy

Located in a bit of a hole-in-the-wall spot in LA Chinatown, and it was surprisingly hard to find due to the lack of signage. I actually walked past it twice and had to ask a street vendor before realizing I was basically right in front of it. Turns out they no longer offer the tamago sando (used to be a breakfast special), so I went with the egg salad sandwich instead and luckily got it on BOGO since they were clearing extra inventory. I also ordered the chicken katsu, which took about 10 minutes to prepare--but it was worth the wait. Super tender and moist, with a great ratio of cabbage, sauce, and bread. It was a bit large, so I had to flatten it slightly to make it easier to bite into. I do wish I had asked for extra katsu sauce on the side since I prefer mine a bit sweeter and more saucy. Not sure why they don't offer online ordering coz the 10-min wait was a bit awkward with no one else in the store and nowhere to sit

Plenty of noodles and beef to go along with it + all the sides. I would go back again when I'm around. Very filling and comforting bowl of soup!!! The sugarcane juice was so so good. There's a hint of orange in it for added flavor, and it works perfectly. It's a bit expensive at 7 dollars, but it hit the spot. Honestly, I'm not hesitant to spend 7-10 dollars on a cup of coffee, so maybe it wasn't truly that expensive. The restaurant itself is fairly unassuming and may not look as fancy and in order as some more new wave places, but the flavors here can't easily be replicated. Easily some of the better pho I've had in LA. Granted, i was really hungry, so that could have factored into the score. Places like this are what i love so much about Chinatown. The atmosphere inside is incredibly welcoming and there was a steady flow of customers coming for the Vietnamese coffee.
