Stopped by because I heard great things about their food and was underwhelmed. I ordered the double cheeseburger combo that came with a sparkling lemonade and curly fries. I paid $19 for the whole meal. The establishment has little seating and there is some outdoors. The staff were friendly and polite as well. There is little parking available so it may be best to carpool The fries were fresh and crispy and seasoned perfectly The burger however was very dry and even on the crunchier side. The bun was soft and warm and fresh, however The patties were seasoned but I'm accustomed to a juicy smashburger and this didn't hit the mark. Not sure if I got an overcooked burger or that's their style. I'm unsure if I would return
The burgers were delicious . Great taste and at a great price. The service was fast and friendly. Sat outside to enjoy the view while eating lunch. Great place to come eat.. Also got to tried the Classic sauce n Russian ... both were great
I tried the California Classic Burger, the Goldenburger, and the Patty Melt, along with fries and curly fries, and everything was delicious. The meat quality stood out right away. The patties tasted fresh and flavorful. The buns were soft while still having that perfect toasted texture. Everything inside the burger tasted fresh and all three items had bomb, house-made sauces! The Patty Melt was probably my favorite. The buttery toasted bread gave it that classic diner-style flavor that made every bite rich and satisfying. The crinkle fries were crispy, golden, and the curly fries were just as good!
FOOD IS GREAT. Best burgers in LA However- they've had a "bathroom out of order" sign on their door for months... people are clearly using the bathroom, the toilet works, employees go in and out using it, but they obviously just don't want guests to use it. Annoying and shady. Tell me you don't care about your guests without telling me you don't care about your guests. Also, you walk inside, they make you walk back outside to order through a window, just to have to walk back inside to sit. Don't make your guests jump through hoops. Come on. Start showing some respect to your guests, and this becomes a 5 star review.

Very good smash burgers. Restaurant / menu is exactly what you expect - burgers, a few signature sauces, fries. All done very well. They have a small but comfortable indoor eating area. Outdoor seating is also available. Super nice to be able to pick! Only drawback? On the pricier side but I think that's just the state of food in LA these days. Thank you for a great meal! Recommended and I'll be back.

If you like super thin crispy edges from a super thin burger patty, Goldburger might be your thing. You get two grass fed patties, grilled onions, cheese, pickles, and a tasty garlic mustard aioli. It's a classic burger and very tasty. The flavor comes from the great beef quality. It's also aesthetic perfect looking for a burger. I just wish the burger was a tad larger. Just a warning that you should expect quite a bit of grease dripping from the bottom. Located in Chinatown, Goldburger is located in the outdoor corridors of Chinatown Plaza with limited to outdoors seating. Overall, the burger here is very good. I did have the pastrami burger a few years ago at the HP location which I wouldn't opt for in the future. Pastrami is protein overload that takes away the flavor of the burger which can get overwhelming. Overall, worth a try for burger lovers.
Goldburger is a tiny spot on the street, but the food coming out of there is serious. I grabbed their signature Goldburger to go for lunch, and it completely delivered. It's a classic smash burger, thin patties with perfectly crispy edges and a juicy middle. The Goldburger comes stacked with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and their house made garlic mayo sauce, all on a soft potato bun. Everything just worked together in the best way. The sauce was creamy with a little tang, the onions were caramelized and sweet, and the bun held up like a champ. Super balanced, nothing felt overdone, just a really well executed burger. Honestly, it's one of the best smash burgers I've had in LA.

First, I love that when they smash the patty, they include the stringy onions. I can taste the quality of the meat while enjoying all of the crispy meat edges. The best part is their homemade garlic honey mustard aioli. It's what differentiates this burger than everyone else's.
By far the most lacking burger-fries combo I've had in LA. And it costs almost $20. Though conveniently located next to the Los Feliz theater, it's a major pass. The main thing for me was how the burger in theory should've slapped, had the fat and salt components, but no other flavors. So it came off super greasy. The bun was also dry and crumbled apart. Didn't help that it lacked sauce. Had to hack it down. Fries were unevenly fried and didn't have the crispy double-fried edge.

Regardless, the grilled onions, pickles, and special sauce combo are unbeatable. The curly fries are your standard old reliable. The interior is quite small and there are three tiny tables outside, so not much seating. But I came on a Tuesday evening and it was not crowded at all. It might be different on the weekend. 10/10 recommend!

The things I look for are a crispy skirt, a good mayo based sauce, and well cooked grilled onions, all of which were checked at Goldburger. Food (5/5): We ordered the double smash burger with cheese, and it was so flavorful and juicy. The bun was also nicely toasted. We also ordered curly fries to share between three people, and it was a good amount. The burger, fries, drink combo was a good lunch deal for $13 if I remember correctly. Service (5/5): I ordered from the window and the cashier was friendly. Our order of two burgers, fries and a drink was ready in about 10 minutes. We got takeout and I don't think they had many seats inside. Ambiance (3/5): The restaurant is right next to a busy street which wasn't great to stand next to, so eating outside probably wouldn't have been the move. I'd just recommend getting takeout.

Solid Smashburger. No frills. No pretentiousness. What you see is what you get. And what you get is plain deliciousness. FOOD Goldburger - 7.0 / 10 Their namesake burger. Has the same taste profile as pretty much every smashburger in LA: Thin, crispy meat with those "meat lace" edges; proprietary sauce which in this case, is a "garlic-mustard aioli"; soft bricohe-like bun. One thing I appreciate is that the size of individual burger is more substantial than those "slider" sized rip-offs at like a For The Win. A single burger + side is a bit substantial. It is double patties + double cheese. You may not be stuffed, but you're likely to have room for another burger / dessert. Pro-Tip: Ask for 1 slice of cheese instead of the included 2. The meat is good enough to stand on it's own & shouldn't be covered-up with too much cheese. LA Special - 7.5 / 10 Single smash patty + cheese + pastrami + pickles. Definitely my more favorite burger of the 2 that I got. The dijonainse is a classic taste to this burger x pastrami sandwich combination. Onion Rings - 7.3 / 10 Decent sized + decent portion (not necessarily for the $6 price tag). Well-battered. I prefer these over their curly fries. **Make sure to get a side of ranch dressing for your onion rings!!!*** Curly fries - 5.1 / 10 Nothing to write home about. I prefer the onion rings, & I almost always get fries instead of onion rings. The interior is bare & that is exactly what I want - stools, some funky movie posters (The Fly), napkin dispensers. Huge brownie points for having a self-serve water crock + plastic cups & next to the pick-up area. They're also not stingy on the ketchup packets. I just wished that they served beer. Sweet little burger and sandwich shop. Went to see a show at a nearby theater and stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Normally refrain from meat but went totally bad today and got a pastrami loaded hot dog called the Gold Dog, a Dad's root beer and onion rings. These were made as a combo for better pricing. The wife got the Reuben sandwich and it was really nice. Totally delicious and wickedly good. read more

I've been visiting Goldburger since they were a pop-up on Sunset Blvd years ago. Today I got take-out from the Los Feliz location and have to say the burgers are just as delicious as always. CALIFORNIA CLASSIC - 5+ stars. A double smashburger served with cheese, pickles & lettuce. This is the perfect patty, crispy edges and full of flavor. ($12) CURLY FRIES - 5 Stars. This is one tasty curly fry, loaded with flavor and cooked perfectly. FRIES - 3 1/2 Stars. Lacks seasoning, pretty basic French Fry to be honest. The addition of salt or using ketchup is definitely needed for this. ($5) Customer service is great and laughed at my bad jokes. I went around 1:30p and there was tons of easy street parking. This is definitely a solid spot for tasty smashburgers. read more

staff was super nice and cool. Got the classic. Burger was okay, the meat was cooked nice but I really thought the signature sauce was weird. tasted like it was pulled of a shelf in my grandmas cabinet and smeared on there. Not much flavor on the burger nor enough toppings (im sure this is just standard build) I would have liked more sauce, more pickles, better flavor. Staff was 10/10 tho and the burger was cooked handsomely this has more to do with my opinion on the burger itself read more

Goldburger is a nice burger spot in Los Feliz. Located right on Vermont Ave, it's perfect for your burger and a movie nights (theater is right there). There is some indoor and outdoor seating. It's limited but I've always been able to find a spot. I've gone a couple times and got the Goldburger ($12). It's a smash burger with two patties. I thought the flavor was good along with its crispy texture. There are two types of fries ($5) . The curly ones are seasoned and personally I found them very salty. Side of sauce for dipping is an additional 75 cents. Overall, I think the location is great and the smash burger is solid. The price point if you're getting burgers, fries and a drink is a little steep compared to other burger spots. They do have a combo deal for earlier in the day to save some money. read more
Can't fault this place at all. I have to say, this is probably one of the best burgers in LA. We came here opening time on a weekday and there were already people ordering. The staff were super friendly as well. We got the goldburger combo and I got the bar burger on the side. The goldburger was super juicy and delicious. Everything worked well in the burger, from the pickles to the mustard sauce. You can 100% taste the quality as well. The bar burger was also fantastic. I got this burger since I loved onions in burgers and this one included both raw onions and pickled onions. This place is very quaint, just like most places in LA. There are a few outside seats but also bar seating inside. There is a restroom as well! There's no sign but it's basically the door at the end. Can't wait to be back here read more

On my first occasion visiting this location, my experience with the ordering process was quick and simple. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger as did my dining partner. I appreciated the fact that they welcomed my dog to sit inside, taking into account the windy conditions. read more

Outstanding smash burger. I got the gold burger. A double smash with cheese grilled onions and sauce. Burger tastes so good and fresh. Fries weren't my favorite, they could have been fried a little longer. I'll try the onion rings next time. Service was super nice and helpful. Inside was kinda small and I hand to stand up to eat because I'm a pretty big guy and didn't want to make it difficult for people walking around me. read more
Ordered via DoorDash today and the food came a tad cold (as expected) but still tasted great. Ordered the California classic burger and it was really good. Super crispy meat , sauce was dank, and the shredded lettuce played really well with the burger. Curly fries were great and all the dipping sauces were fire. The Dijon aioli is Dijon mustard in aioli form, so don't be caught off guard. Only one I didn't like but had to try. We'll be back 100%, really good food. read more

Super convenient, I just ordered at the window and grabbed a seat. First time here, so I decided to go with the Goldburger, which is $11: "Grass-Fed 6oz. double smashburger with cheese, grilled onions, fresh pickles, and a house-made award winning garlic-mustard aioli." Couldn't describe it any better myself. Meaty and cheesy and warm. I love the crispy meat edges and that being said, the burger itself is still juicy.no need to add any ketchup to this burger. I did add some chopped chilies to it for a little kick. so good. I basically ordered the combo, so I added curly fries and a root beer . For an additional cost, I added a side of spicy ranch, super good with curly fries! Everything was really perfect. Zero complaints and the staff was super friendly. read more
There are several great burger spots in the neighborhood , but Goldburger is my current favorite! It's a fairly small restaurant located on Vermont Avenue, but there is both some indoor and outdoor seating if you decide to eat at the restaurant. Ordering online is easy, and the service if you order in person is friendly and efficient. I usually get the California Classic, which comes with diced onions, pickles, special sauce, and lettuce added to a double smash-burger. I also often add chopped chiles to my order, and the peppers add a subtle spiciness to an already excellent burger. The curly fries are also fantastic, and I would recommend the weekday lunch combo if you are looking for a well-priced meal! read more
It's a delicious burger!! We loved it. But I think it's a bit flat for hearing it to be the best burger in LA... it needs more in there. The patty was definitely crispy and delicious. The fries were amazing. I would be back, but it's not a burger I'm dying to have again. Gotta try it at least once tho! read more

Once again, another LA burger spot that doesn't deliver the hype! I cannot understand why so many daft humanoids out there claim that this is the best burger in LA. It's not even in the top 10. First, let me tell you about the locations. Odd to say the least. There are three or four that I know of, but they are all holes in the wall. You won't get much space to hangout. And as far as condiments go - forget it. The burger itself is greasy and rather pedestrian in quality and size. The meat is prepared smash burger style with the crispy edges that you get from a good smash burger grilled. The meat is fine - quality but not a ton of flavor and most importantly, natural and not too salty. The bum is nothing to write home about. Basic and neither great nor putrid. They could upgrade it. Toppings? Not vast, but the dressing they use for their burgers does provide that extra kick. Onions are thin - bit too thin for my liking. There isn't really a crispy side to their burgers. They get weighed down by all that grease. Go to Wisconsin if you want a butter burger that will put this to shame. This burger wouldn't even qualify as worth paying for in the Midwest. Sides? Forget about it. No point in ordering. Way below average. Again, when it comes to burgers, don't take anything Californians say seriously. They overhype average things because they no longer have high quality as judging by the deterioration of the state itself. Would I go back? No. There are far better burgers around. Several diners in the area have much better food and more comfortable dining rooms to enjoy them at. read more
