This place has been all over my feed forever as one of the best smash burgers in LA, so I was excited to finally try it out! We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Would probably go for plain next time as the loaded fries and burger together had similar flavors The interior has a few benches for seating and single bar type seating around the perimeter - I could see it filling up if there's a big line of people. Harken back when I was a wee lad bouncing around the play place of the Golden Arches. Not a care in the world and not a thought behind my eyes. I have carried life's burden and traveled continents, but one thing remains the same after my many moons of life, the taste of a Big Mac. The taste of a burger so consistent and familiar, that my tastebuds can traverse continents and taste fermented shark in the Netherlands, broiled Mackerel in Kyoto, or a cheeseburger in Reykjavik. The Big Mac stays the same. I went to LA to taste, apparently, the best burger in LA at For the Win. I paid $25 for two smash burgers and had high expectations. After all, when you click this joint on Google Maps, a fancy review pops up. Nice! However, when the smash burger entered my cave and caressed my buds, my mind instantly recognized it as a Big Mac. Therefore, my brain could hardly differentiate between a McDonalds burger, and the "best" burger in LA. I haven't eaten at McDonalds in 14 years, but my mind still knew what a gentle and warm face looks like. So overall, it was alright! As the reverend Shane Gillis says "Not Bad". Delicious. I loved the roasted Brussels sprouts options besides sweet potato fries. My husband can't eat potatoes. No fountain drinks, but free cool water was a plus. I'm so excited that the meet is grass-fed and the double burger was delicious. They also had 3 patty options! I was surprised there was some parking. My husband and I parked in the neighborhood just in case there wasn't parking. Music was a bit loud but good choice of 70s music (like Guardians of the Galaxy mixed tape) when we happened to be there. I loved it. First floor-so can use a wheelchair or walker but it is a compact environment. I have to give credit where it's due--I ended up finding my glasses after all. That part was my fault for not checking every pocket in my car. Arrived on a Thursday afternoon on our way to the Palladium... luckily there was plenty of parking, and only 2 others eating inside. The order keyosk wasn't working, so I ordered with the worker. The burger is not cheap, a single is already nearly $10. And then you have to pay more for tomatoes, lettuce, etc... which I did pay for on my double, plus jalapeños. With fries, the order came to almost $25. That said, everything tasted pretty good. Fries are very salted/seasoned, burger (with all the added produce) tasted great. This spot was on my radar for a while so I was able to stop by on my way home around 2:30pm on a Thursday and it wasn't busy at all. I was able to effortlessly order on their computer screen and received my order within less than 10 minutes. Ordered a single smash cheeseburger that was quite tasty and I really liked their sauce. I was looking forward to giving it another try, especially since I've tried many different smash burgers in the city since my last visit to FTW. Order through the kiosk and tap to pay. Grab a seat and be patient; they take their time cooking the burgers, but it's worth the wait - good things take time! I saw a previous review raving about the sweet potato fries, so I decided to try them - a rare choice for me! Apparently, they're even better than the regular fries. Now for the burger! I upgraded to a double cheeseburger for $3.50, and it was definitely worth the extra cost. The Double Cheeseburger arrives with fry sauce oozing down the patty, grilled onions, and tangy pickles, all on a Martin's potato bun. This smash burger is simply the best! I understand smashburgers are supposed to have thin patties and crunchiness, but at some point, the patties are so thing, the burger suffers. I think we've reached that point with FTW. Service was fine. You order at a touchscreen. I expected to have to go get my food when it was ready since I was required to enter my phone number, but the guy working the counter brought my food out since they weren't busy. You bus your own tray. If you think that the default selection of 20% tip for a place where you order from a toucscreen and bus your own tray seems a bit high, you can select other amounts for tip. The interior furnishings are tables and benches constructed from planks of wood and stacked cinder blocks. Small wood stools are available as well. Getting into and out of the parking lot during rush hour is slow and painful. If you can squeeze your car between the dumpster and the pole to get to the side street/alley, that will save you some time and jeopardy. They get you with the nice photos of beautifully presented burgers on the app, however since you're paying for the "price of one" this establishment feels entitled to send you mediocre burger patties and bread.
