I'm not a big fan of BBQ. However, I am a huge fan of this place. Most places that make BBQ seem to rely on drowning stuff in sauce. That is where I have to say RIBBRO is different. It's BBQ but on a different level. Their meat is tender and delicious with just the right amount of sauce. Not saying they don't have it on hand if you need more although the way I have received multiple sandwiches seems to be perfect. Although I will say the BBQ Chicken I do add their Honey Mustard (It's amazing.). Hands down, best BBQ that I have had. We finished kayaking through the Naples Canals in Long Beach and stumbled upon this BBQ joint. While the dining room is quite small, and probably only holds 30 people, it was fine for the 7 of us since we came a little after the lunch rush on a Tuesday. We did the sampler which allowed us to try all of their meats. Not a single one disappointed, but my favorites were the smoked ribs, sausage and brisket. Their loaded Mac n cheese had a nice twist with the crunchy bits on top. The smoked chicken wings with the fusion gochugang BBQ sauce was amazing. Service from the host was great and he gave good recommendations so we really appreciated it since it was our first time. Even though this place is quite a drive for us, we will definitely be back! BBQ is my thing! I'll never get bored of it! My bf asked me what I wanted to eat after our 5k and I said BBQ! After a few searches we came across RIBBRO BBq in Long Beach. We ordered the 2 meat combo that includes two sides. I was bumbed because they didn't have the 3 meat combo. I ordered brisket with pulled pork macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. My bf ordered brisket with sausage fries and the bbq beans. We also had an a la carte order of smoked chicken breast. It was nice that they had a different selection of sauces, a self serve bar with kimchi and pickles. Utensils, sauces and napkins were also available. I was hungry and was hopeful that this meal would satisfy my BBQ craving. Unfortunately, it didn't. I expected a smoky flavor on the proteins a nice bark on the brisket and it was far from that. It was lacking flavor. In order to taste flavor on the protein I was forced to dip it in the BBQ sauce. It was sad that I had to rely on the sauce for flavor. The Mac and cheese was too cheesy for my liking and the pasta was under cooked. American BBQ This is BBQ with an Asian twist. It was my first time trying RIBBRO BBQ and sadly it will be my last. The brisket was tender and it was served in a pile. It could have come with a slice or two of bread. The two sides were Cole slaw and potato salad. Interesting establishment. It's kind of asian/bbq fusion. Small and cozy vibe. They have ribs, brisket, pulled pork along with Kimchi and fried rice. They also offer beer and wine. We ordered the 2 meat special (pork ribs, pulled pork, coleslaw, potato salad)Z they have bbq sauces (spicy and mild), dill pickle slices, jalapeno and kimchi. My fav was the potato salad. Nice little spot for some different style BBQ. The atmosphere is very relaxed with tvs to watch sports. They offer beer and wine if you want it. Service was really good too. The style of the dinner is more of that old style burger joint or pizza by the slice type Places. You order up at the counter. Their menu is HUGE! Ordered the brisket songs sandwich, two meat combo with brisket and gochogang pork, and the loaded Mac n cheese with pulled pork. The food was all good. Onion rings great, and the potato salad was a different style too. My two complaints about the experience was that the baked beans or BBQ beans were underdone and crunchy. The bbq sauces were just ok. The biggest issue was that the brisket was way overcooked. It was very tender to the point that it was mushy and hard to eat without it crumbling apart. The flavor was good though especially with some bbq sauce. They claim they are a Texas bbq. It's certainly a different style Of Texas Bbq. As I've never seen a Texas bbq place offer radish kimchi, or pickled radish. That said they were both absolutely delicious. This is what I got: 2 Meat Plate w/ 2 sides ($25.90): St. Louis-style pork ribs & beef brisket. As someone who can't handle anything too salty, I thought the ribs and beef brisket was perfect for me. The fall-off-the-bone ribs went well with the bbq sauce they have available. The beef brisket was tender - I didn't have tough parts like other Yelpers have mentioned in their reviews. And because it wasn't overly salty, my dog got to eat some (a lot actually) lol. Me and my dog approve! 5/5 stars. Sides (Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw): Like others have pointed out, the Mac & Cheese is problematic. The shells I got were hard, but, I thought their cheese sauce was perfect for me - not too goopy or thick or too salty. As for the coleslaw, I was not a fan. I think I thought it would either be an American-style coleslaw where it would have been marinated overnight or like a Korean-style slaw where the vegetables would have been shredded paperthin w/ dressing on top. 2.5/5 stars My dog and I liked the meal and I think the food was worth it. It's a hearty lil mound of deliciousness stacked with rice, noods, some pork, and a sauce that wraps it all together with a spicy kiss. You get umami, spicy, salty, savory, all in one... We both got the brisket plate & i think its great you can get lean or fatty (we got a mix). It was VERY tender but kinda dry too. I got beans and fries as a side and the fries were awesome! The beans coulda been cooked a bit longer cuz some were still crunchy. My husband got slaw and potato salad as his sides. He really enjoyed the slaw but the potato salad's flavor was a bit more subtle. The disappointment was the cornbread. It weirdly lacked flavor and i very much dislike corn in my cornbread tho i know some do! I shouldve asked but it didnt even occur to me since it was listed as a dessert. On their outside menu i saw loaded cornbread which i wanted to try but i didnt see it on the menu inside I like that they have sauces available on the side - original bbq, spicy, mustard base, ketchup, etc as well as napkins and finger wipes! When this place opened several months ago, I wanted to try it but hesitated because of the poor reviews. After seeing more positive reviews and pictures of the food, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I left with mixed feelings after trying it. I went on a Sunday afternoon. I decided to eat there. You order first and then sit down. I was the only one sitting down. People were mostly coming in for to-go orders. Their menu is basically American BBQ with some Korean flavors if you want them. I ordered the 8 piece chicken wings in gochujang sauce (it was 2-5 pm happy hour, so it was $10) and a two meat combo (pork ribs, brisket, potato salad, and tangy almond slaw). The price for the combo was $30.90 ($1 upcharge each for ribs and brisket, which was not stated on the menu). I thought the combo was pricey for the amount of food (only two ribs!). Their service was slow since they were busy taking care of to-go orders. I got my food after 30 minutes. The chicken wings were good and I liked the gochujang sauce on them. The ribs and brisket were decent. The potato salad was fine. It just didn't have much flavor. The tangy slaw was tangy but good. I liked that they had Korean pickle condiments and sauces (both were good). I did not really enjoy the ambiance with people coming in and out getting to go orders. The music was very loud and jarring with the four TVs on showing random stuff. The owners, who are Korean, and some of the kitchen staff were just sitting at a table and eating. It's not a place I would want to sit and enjoy a meal and a beer. Service was just ok. Overall, the food was ok but too pricey given the other BBQ options in Long Beach. I don't think I would go back. Tip: Make sure you tell them that you want the happy hour wings (if it's happy hour) and not the regular priced wings.
