TL;DR - beef brisket & gochujang pork belly, fries and mac&cheese. Mix both spicy and secret BBQ sauces with purple slaw and some jalapeños if you want that slight extra heat. Onion rings with the housemade ranch is fire too on the side. Had heard some good things about this spot so decided to stop by with the fam for a random dinner. It's a smaller hole-in-the-wall spot but with lots of open space so it doesn't feel too cramped. Parking isn't necessarily the easiest, but I didn't have to wait, just know most of the street parking is paid M-F between 10am-7pm. (1st 15 minutes is free though). This spot was the perfect blend of order/pay first for bomb food. Service was fast even though it was just one person manning both the cashier and service. Jackie was so great and had a great smile and was so nice to even my kids which was a big plus. I loved the food and it's not like typical "Texas BBQ" which I actually liked. The meat didn't feel overly saturated in fat or greasy but was still so tender. Maybe it's because I'm Asian, but "real" Texas BBQ joints or American BBQ spots tend to feel too heavy for me and I don't feel good after eating. This place wasn't different. The brisket could easily be cut with just a fork and that's solid for me. The gochujang pork belly was better than most KBBQ spots I've tried. and dare I say, I think they had the best tasting fries I've had... like it's hard to explain, but the slightest lemon pepper seasoning with the perfect crisp on outside to potato inside was just so on-point. I had to fight my kids over the last couple fries. Make sure to get the spicy and secret BBQ sauces they have in the center along with purple slaw and jalapeño sides. It complements the meat so nicely. Price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. The sesame and green onion finish on top? Immaculate. Whoever developed this recipe deserves an award, a vacation, and a sincere apology for how hard I went at that plate. The brisket held its own admirably alongside what was essentially a showstopper. Rich, tender, and genuinely great -- Texas comparisons aside, this brisket doesn't need the validation. It stands on its own. The fries are not an afterthought here either -- crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, exactly what a good fry should be. Stumbled into Rib Grow on Second Street while waiting for my son's first piano lesson and kind of lucked out. We grabbed the kids meal for about $9, and the brisket was super juicy with a really good portion. My son loved it. The mac and cheese looked so cheesy and delicious that Mom obviously had to do a little quality control and steal a bite or two. They've also got beer and wine, outdoor seating, and a great location right at Second and Glendora, so you're in the middle of everything with some solid people watching. I got the 2 meat combo for $36 bucks For ribs and brisket they add a $2 dollar upcharge for both? Then a long beach 10.5% tax for $3.45 to take more $$ from the customer? Why? Expensive for only two meats. I still got the ribs and brisket. Ribs were good but brisket was not! I like BBQ with smoked favor and this is far from it. It also came with beans which was ok and mac was ok. The place is super nice with inside and outside seating! They also have a clean bathroom which is a bonus and TV's to watch sporting events. Parking is easy on a tuesday. The service was very nice and friendly. They will give you a free drink if leaving a yelp review so let them know. With very few BBQ options in the city, I tried this spot located on 2nd street. Luckily I found parking easily. This was for a takeout order. As a 1st timer, I went with my favorite cut of meat, brisket. This has an upcharge as noted on the menu. I found the meat to be cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I even enjoyed the BBQ sauce as that can make or break a BBQ spot for me. The plate was serve with 2 sides. I went with the good old standbys, potato salad and coleslaw. They were both a bit different here, making it unique. I am not sure I loved either, but they were both good. Overall, I found it a bit expensive for the portion size. Hands down, best BBQ that I have had. We finished kayaking through the Naples Canals in Long Beach and stumbled upon this BBQ joint. While the dining room is quite small, and probably only holds 30 people, it was fine for the 7 of us since we came a little after the lunch rush on a Tuesday. We did the sampler which allowed us to try all of their meats. Not a single one disappointed, but my favorites were the smoked ribs, sausage and brisket. Their loaded Mac n cheese had a nice twist with the crunchy bits on top. The smoked chicken wings with the fusion gochugang BBQ sauce was amazing. It was nice that they had a different selection of sauces, a self serve bar with kimchi and pickles. Utensils, sauces and napkins were also available. I was hungry and was hopeful that this meal would satisfy my BBQ craving. Unfortunately, it didn't. I expected a smoky flavor on the proteins a nice bark on the brisket and it was far from that. It was lacking flavor. In order to taste flavor on the protein I was forced to dip it in the BBQ sauce. It was sad that I had to rely on the sauce for flavor. We stopped by while walking up 2nd Street. A decent menu and average prices. We got the two meat platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were delicious and cooked well. The brisket was tender and it was served in a pile. It could have come with a slice or two of bread. The two sides were Cole slaw and potato salad. Nice little spot for some different style BBQ. The atmosphere is very relaxed with tvs to watch sports. They offer beer and wine if you want it. Service was really good too. The style of the dinner is more of that old style burger joint or pizza by the slice type Places. You order up at the counter. Their menu is HUGE! Ordered the brisket songs sandwich, two meat combo with brisket and gochogang pork, and the loaded Mac n cheese with pulled pork. The food was all good. The pulled pork was delicious, the gochugang pork was like meat candy, and the Mac n cheese was fantastic. The sides were good too. The coleslaw was different and really good. Onion rings great, and the potato salad was a different style too. My two complaints about the experience was that the baked beans or BBQ beans were underdone and crunchy. The bbq sauces were just ok. The biggest issue was that the brisket was way overcooked. It was very tender to the point that it was mushy and hard to eat without it crumbling apart. The flavor was good though especially with some bbq sauce. They claim they are a Texas bbq. It's certainly a different style Of Texas Bbq. As I've never seen a Texas bbq place offer radish kimchi, or pickled radish. That said they were both absolutely delicious. It's dog-friendly like a lot of other restaurants on 2nd Street. I think this might be the only BBQ place on the street and I think it's pretty decent. This is what I got: 2 Meat Plate w/ 2 sides ($25.90): St. Louis-style pork ribs & beef brisket. As someone who can't handle anything too salty, I thought the ribs and beef brisket was perfect for me. The fall-off-the-bone ribs went well with the bbq sauce they have available. The beef brisket was tender - I didn't have tough parts like other Yelpers have mentioned in their reviews. And because it wasn't overly salty, my dog got to eat some (a lot actually) lol. Me and my dog approve! 5/5 stars. Sides (Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw): Like others have pointed out, the Mac & Cheese is problematic. The shells I got were hard, but, I thought their cheese sauce was perfect for me - not too goopy or thick or too salty. As for the coleslaw, I was not a fan. I think I thought it would either be an American-style coleslaw where it would have been marinated overnight or like a Korean-style slaw where the vegetables would have been shredded paperthin w/ dressing on top. 2.5/5 stars My dog and I liked the meal and I think the food was worth it.
