My brother in law attests to this place saying it's his favorite burger ever as well as the "best burger place in the world!" So we grabbed a couple of friends and went to Long Beach to check this place out! It is located on a side street but you can find parking in a small lot with the bar that this place is attached to. I'm assuming the bar orders from them to pass the food on to their patrons which is pretty cool imho. Anyways the inside itself is pretty tiny. I forgot to take a picture but it had LA Dodger colored sport figure heads painted on the wall. Pretty cool! (Even coming from an Angels fan) The prices itself are pretty pricey. I had to go for the Mike Tyson Burger. It was $18 for the burger and didn't include any drink or fries which kind of sucks honestly haha. I opted to pay for some fries and drink. Sadly, the soft drink machine is broken here and had to get a can soda. My food came out and please note that the fries come as a basket of fries only, so if you're eating solo and wanted some sides come hungry for sure haha. The burger itself looked really delicious! They had a special sauce on them and really thick patties but how did it taste? It was pretty good! The sauce served with it was delicious and paired well with the pastrami and the beef patties. The burger itself then became pretty messy but overall it was really good. The dudes at the front were really chill and even hooked us up with some ranch when they usually charge. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food. But was it "the best burger place ever" as my in law claims? No haha. Don't get me wrong it's a really good burger place but the price for my entire meal was around $35. Definitely got what I paid for but I think you can get a quality burger with fries and drink for a way cheaper price. And you know with a working soda machine. While ordering, mid sentence, I kept getting interrupted with "anything else"? I appreciate the attentive prompting, but can I finish speaking before you ask the next question. I decided to get onion rings this time bc the fries have tasted refried the last few times. I'm so bummed at this change of mind. Upon my first bite of a really crispy onion ring, turned out to be a batter coated onion skin. So disappointing and disgusting. Half full ranch cups and soggy bread (I ate my food less than ten minutes after pickup) left me so upset. Today I also tried the Michael Jordan, and it was fire too--the pesto and chicken work really well together. Their Cajun fries are addictive, it has the perfect crisp with the right amount of Cajun seasoning that keeps you eating more. So after spending a long day at catalina island, we wanted to grab something to eat on the way home. Lil Gordon Ramsey (My daughter) suggested burgers. I saw this place was suggested by 1 of these food bloggers, so we decided to give them a try. I ordered online at 8:11pm, they were closing at 9, so I figured it was enough time. Get there, immediately disappointment. Soda fountain machine is broken, so only cans of soda. Then we get the order, its missing an order of Cajun fries. Go back in to get it, cashier says, well do you just want a refund, because we are about to close. It was 8:35. I've cooked enough fries in my life to know they would've been done well before 9pm. On top of that, the HALF order of Cajun fries was 10 f*ckin dollars!!! Now, add on to that, the fries we DID get weren't seasoned at all, and were just warm when we got them. All this inconvenience and MID was $55 dollars too btw. For 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 cans of soda. Its safe to say I will never be coming to this MF place again. read more

The kids got a Patty Melt and a George Foreman 5. They both loved their burgers. Hubby and I both got The Shaq- double patties with bacon, cheese and tomato - but our patties were DRY AS A DRYER SHEET. I went with the Michael Jordan Sandwich on squaw bread, and it was sooo good! Everything tasted really fresh and it was made perfectly. My Mom got the #99 Sandwich (the tuna sandwich) and she loved hers too. We shared a basket of cajun fries, and those are definitely a must! Was across the street at Hug Life Ice Cream Shop & seen this place. Went in, I loved the art decor a lot, plenty of seating, very clean. The menu looked like it had been through A LOT! Aha. I got the Shaq, THE BURGER WAS HUGE! I got the sauce on the side because I'm not big on sauce.. and I also got fries and ranch. I ended up adding mustard to the burger when I got home. The burger was so good! SO GOOD! I usually can't eat a burger without pickles BUT I did and enjoyed it. It was so big I didn't even finish it! I gave half to my mom. The fries were good, the ranch was interesting but still did the trick. The burger place is connected to a bar next time I'll dine in instead of to go. Limited drink options. MVP's has been a "go to" burger spot since they were located down the street from their current location. They also have locations on Redondo and 10th and Stearns near Bellflower Blvd. MVP's burger selection, and selection of other sandwiches and food, has something for everyone. The burgers are big and tasty and the service is quick and easy. The George Foreman can be ordered in a variety of ways and is my favorite. The Tony Gwynn (BLT) is also recommended as is the Harry Caray (club sandwich). Either way you can go wrong. Oh and don't forget the fries, you can order them plain or seasoned. It was my first time here, and I didn't know what to expect and I was so happy that we decided to go to MVP's Grill and patio on fourth Street after supporting our friend from an SRNA event. I got the Nadia Comaneci salad and it was amazing. The veggies were so fresh and the dressing is light and just right for my taste. My kind of salad on a hot day. My friend ordered the tuna sandwich and it looked amazing as well. And the cherry on top was the service. The servers were so efficient and prompt!
