I am new to the area and was looking for a diner style meal. Hamburger Dan's was everything I needed! I ventured out to try the food despite the 3 star rating and I am glad I did. Ordered the chili dog with fries and a root beer. As well as a cheeseburger with fries, extra seasoning and a raspberry iced tea. The food was cooked well and it was very tasty. The server was very friendly and gave me time to look at the menu since it was my first time here. They also speak Spanish which is convenient. She also let me know some of the popular items customers order. Unfortunately their dining area was empty despite it being a Sunday afternoon but there is plenty of seating and fun things to do. Seems to have some good value items on the menu. I tried the mushroom Swiss burger. The burger is pretty big (though thin) and the mushrooms were good. I didn't realize it would come with onions & special sauce. I think next time I'll ask for it without those but you may like them. Combo came with fries (pretty good) and a drink for around $11. Been here a few times it's usually a hit or a miss. This time it's another miss to where I'm just gonna note this for more my personal benefit more than for Yelp this time. The food is decent most times the price is decent the customer service is usually lacking. Even when it's not really busy and your order is small it can sometimes take longer than necessary. I was very disappointed with my experience at Dan's today. First of all, it took more than 20 minutes to get our order. When it finally arrived, my patty melt was on white bread, fries were cold and my son's toast was not toast at all, rather warmed up bread on the grill. Pretty sad meal for $30. They must have spent all their money on their new sign outside because the inside is clean but kind of dingy - even for a burger joint. I'v driven by this place like a zillion times and finally decided to stop in for a burger. I had their Bacon Avocado burger special that comes with fries and a soda for $5. It took awhile to get my order and by the time it came I was really thirsty. I grabbed my diet coke and suck down about half of it before realizing it was regular coke - sugar spike. The burger was just ok. The patty was kind of dry and the bacon tasted like it was precooked awhile ago. Half way through my burger it fell apart - too much sauce and cheapie bun. I'm shocked at how this place looks and the way this male cashier doesn't seem to care about his job or the customers coming into the restaurant. The floors are absolutely disgusting; there's crumbs and food scraps all over underneath the tables. The tables themselves are sticky and look like they haven't been wiped down all day. The cashier had no sense of customer service and had no personality. He seemed to be more into his phone and his female coworker than anything else. Maybe they ran out of food and had to run to the local smart and final for all of the ingredients. Cheap dry toast, greasy, cheap bacon that seems to have been cooked twice. Don't let the faded old sign fool you - if you want a good burger, this is the place to go. My partner & I have been twice and both times loved the food. The first time we got our meals to go, and ended up sitting in our car in the parking lot to eat; it smelled so good, we couldn't wait until we got home. My chicken burger was so crisp, juicy, and flavorful that I went back in to tell them how much I enjoyed it. The second time I got the cheeseburger combo. One bite and I was transported to my favorite burger place when I was a kid. The fries are served up hot, crisp, and lightly seasoned, and a generous portion to boot. Both times that we went, we arrived starving and ended the meal stuffed to the gills, with a few bites that we just didn't have the room to finish. Parking up front never gets packed here I'm sure plenty of spaces to go around. Food was good just like many of these types of small diners. Nothing to go out your way for but overall good. I had the cheeseburger all ingredients seemed fresh meat was well cooked. Service was lacking there was only 2 people ahead of me and took them close to 30 minutes to make my order. They need a more experienced cook to be able to cook more then 1 Order at a time. I rarely post reviews, Dan's is the only place within walking distance. The last two times have been the same, BAD. I ordered online for carryout at 8AM for Pick up at 8:30 AM waited each time about 10 minutes for the ordered to be ready. Each order was the Dan's Big Breakfast. This review was for the order on 02-19-23. The semi-good, the scrambled eggs, not runny. Pancakes were passible. Now the real "Bad" bread choice was English Muffin, how can you screw that up? Put it in a toaster easy peasy, well they spent enough time to get warm, not toasted. Now the bad, Sausage links looked and tasted like the were re-heated from 3 days prior, shriveled and dried out, no flavor. The Hash Browns were anything but brown, oily and just yuck. Also Dan why no salt/pepper or catchup packets on "To Go" orders? Not worth $13.22 read more
