Waiting for Costco to open. Golden Eagle is consistently great for classic breakfast. Pancakes and the Chorizo breakfast burrito special are always fire. The pastrami is also very good.

I've been here so many times. I've tried the chicken, pastrami and burgers. It's all delicious. This place is clean and I've yet to encounter anything wrong. I love it!!!

Best food ever. I ordered cheese eggs and they were so tasty I didn't have to add any seasoning. The orange juice is squeezed fresh and is divine. Country fried steak and gravy is sublime. My place to eat.

Heads Up: Golden Eagle Restaurant has "Fell Off" We purchased 2 Pastrami Sandwiches and they were Fatty and Greasy and Gross.

Pastrami sandwich. Moist and yummy!

I am very pleased to announce that the pastrami sandwich from days of old is back and very much enjoyable. It's soft and it's moist. It's perfectly thick slices but they're so tender. No joke people, don't sit on this. Go get it now!

#11 denver omelette + hashbrowns + sourdough toast = $13.39
Trung N.

I ate breakfast at lunch time and it was the most glorious way to spend a Monday morning. First time here, so I went with the basic: #3 sausage & eggs ($11.99). Breakfast is served with 3 eggs, hashbrowns, and your choice of toast. My entree came with four sausages. Oh boy. My breakfast platter was so good. First of all, the eggs are buttered, the hashbrowns are buttered, and so is the toast. What is not to love? The hashbrowns are perfect - the potatoes are sliced into meatier slivers, buttered, then crisped on the grill. The sourdough toast was toasting - perfect to soak up all the egg yolk from my over easy eggs. If you order coffee, you have free rein to pour yourself a cup, however, someone will come around to top you off if you need a little more. Mind you, this is a fast casual set situation, so that minor attention to service really won me over. I love Golden Eagle. It gives home-y diner vibes with a fast casual set up.

Breakfast specials

Right across from the Costco in Signal Hill, the Golden Eagle Restaurant Long Beach serves up family-style comfort food similar to what I grew up in Chicagoland Greek restaurants, except with a SoCal twist (e.g. Good Breakfast burritos!). Golden Eagle Signal Hill has been around since 1988 (the original opened in 1971 in Torrance). There's a dedicate parking lot, but it seems to fill up quickly. It is set-up as fast food, where you get in line, place/pay your order (no opportunity for tip), and then find a place to sit. They do serve lunch and dinner as well (with a small menu), but we came for their all-day breakfast. Customers seem to come in waves: One minute there could be nobody in line to order, and the next, a line going back to the back. Coffee and soda is self serve, and the station is next to the order-taking register, which causes congestion....nothing a couple of 'excuse-me's' couldn't solve. The coffee station had sugar (but no substitutes) and single serve creamers. My mother-in-law said her small coffee ($3.19) was fine. Our food came out pretty quickly (with silverware and napkins), delivered by a super-congenial young man, who offered extra plates, silverware, and more salsa for my burrito. The winner meal was the Hot Cakes Combo, choice of meat ($13.39 even though the menu board said $13.99). It is even cheaper ($10.89) if ordered before 11 (we just missed it). The 3 Hot cakes were so fluffy, just loved by my wife and Mom. I had a bite and it was very good, very light. It came with choice of egg and meat (scrambled and bacon in our case). There were 5 strips of thick cut bacon, very crispy (almost shattering as you bit down) if that's how you like it. If you search for best breakfast burrito in Long Beach, Golden Eagle seems to pop up a lot. I liked mine ($10.79), filled with both bacon and sausage. It had a lightly seasoned homemade salsa inside, so the extra salsa that I got was useful. One thing I noticed is that the egg inside was prepared like an omelet (with the diced vegetables and bacon mixed in), and then the thin omelet being rolled along with tortilla and melted cheddar cheese...resulting in a well balanced burrito in each bite. It's a smart way to make it. It was big enough for me to bring half of it home. Each table has needed condiments, like syrup, ketchup and hot sauce (both Tabasco and Tapatio), along with napkins. I mention this since there really isn't table service (though they do deliver the food and will bus). So having some cash for tip before you leave is a good idea.

Carne asada burritos
Dee N.

I have continued to come here for their carne asada burrito. But today, I noticed they changed the meat. We have ordered three of the burritos. All three burritos carne asada meat is smaller (chopped up) and dry compared to the big juicy meat that they use to used. And the burritos was smaller in size. I'm alittle disappointed at the change in recipe. The taste was different. I hope they change it back soon to the original recipe.

Raw pancake

This food was for my 1 year old and he kept spitting it out so I tried it and the whole pancake was raw hopefully he doesn't get sick with this horrible pancake.

Great food and great staff. Been coming here for years. Chili is definitely one of the best in Long Beach!!!

The way it works is you order first, then wait for them to seat you once a table opens up. It was super busy, so there was a bit of standing around while waiting for a table. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of that setup, but honestly...the food made it completely worth it. What we ordered: * Almond croissant * Ube cruffin * Lemon ricotta pancakes * Breakfast burrito with bacon * Side of potatoes * Strawberry pistachio matcha * Cinnagave shaken espresso Everything was absolutely incredible. I'm seriously craving it again while writing this The food was amazing, and the drinks were next-level good. The café itself is adorable, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Also, shoutout to the sweet woman with the star clips in her hair! She was so friendly, and my niece loved that she complimented the Jigglypuff on her water bottle. I'll definitely be coming back. First, a heads-up: parking in the area can be a bit of a challenge, so plan ahead and expect to look for street parking. That said, once you arrive, everything runs impressively smoothly. You'll stand in line to place your order at the register, and then they'll seat you. There are two seating options, an indoor patio and an outdoor patio; both with a really cute, inviting vibe. What really stood out was the thoughtful Mother's Day touch. While we were in line, they offered champagne and gave out roses, white for mothers who are no longer with us and red for those who are. Such a beautiful and meaningful gesture. Once seated, drinks came out quickly, and the food followed shortly after. I was genuinely impressed with how efficient and well-organized everything was, especially given how busy it was. For food, I ordered the Dutch Baby, and my companion had the Bailey's Breakfast, both were delicious and well-prepared. Between the great food, charming decor, and amazing service, this place really delivered. I'll definitely be back.

Not sure if they use the red wine like traditional French onion soups but super acidic and sour. Didn't like the soup. The worst part was I ordered the Pastrami Reuben and didn't look like any Pastrami Reuben I have ever had. The meat had so much unrendered fat and connective parts of the pork it was completely inedible. Sandwich lacked meat and cross section photo shows. Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. If I was in the area, I would return to The Attic for dinner. My friend and I had a very welcoming and positive experience in terms of the service and food respectively at this establishment.

There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

There were no place settings or sugar on the table. The only thing that was on the table was a single unused place setting that had been left from the previous guest. It had an overturned fork and a knife. I had to ask for a spoon and sugar and then I waited another five minutes for them to arrive while my six dollar coffee was getting cold. When the spoon and sugar arrived, the spoon was stuck to the napkin on the handle end. At this point, I just wanted my caffeine and given that the sticky stuff on the spoon was at the bottom, I chose not to ask for a replacement. Fresh utensils never arrived, forcing me to use the leftover utensils across the table from the previous guest. In addition to the sugar not being provided on the table, there was no salt, pepper, or hot sauce brought out. One shouldn't have to ask for these things as they should already be on a well stocked table. I had the Benedict for breakfast. I wouldn't really call it a Benedict. The eggs were overcooked, and the yolks were dry. The bacon was so crispy and overdone that it was hard to break in half with a fork. The cilantro dressing was really good, but with the eggs being dry and the bacon being overcooked, the cilantro dressing and the English muffin were really the only things left to enjoy. My water glass was not refilled until I had been sitting in front of an empty plate for 20 minutes. No signs of the waitress to get a check. Having a table ready with place settings and condiments on it should be the bare minimum. Why it takes 15 minutes to get coffee I don't know. Don't offer eggs Benedict on a menu if you're gonna cook the eggs to within inch of their life. I'm sure the food's really good if it's cooked right. The service leaves a lot to be desired.
