I've passed by this place a lot since I moved to Long Beach. A friend of mine told me some bad stuff, but that was years ago so it had to have gotten better. I went the other day and ordered a double cheeseburger for myself a cheeseburger for my wife and a large order fries to share with each other. It's a small place that seems to need help. They had a help wanted sign and they need an experienced line cook. When I get there, there's an older gentleman and two ladies helping out. It's definitely a cute little place. I really like all the signage and it's a very classy looking. They have a drive-thru and they didn't take long for me to get my order. They also work with DoorDash.. The food was good. My wife enjoyed hers with the yellow peppers, and she was happily surprised to see pickled carrots. The fries were crispy, and my burger was delicious. As 7th St. is often the easiest way to get back and forth from my home to the O.C., I've passed by Jim's Burgers with the prominent facade many many times, but never had a chance to stop-in. On this Sunday, my wife, her mom, and I made a conscious effort to dine-in for lunch. It ended up being a really good experience. Parking can be found in the dedicated surface lot in the back. The drive-through goes through the same lot, and it was busy. The walk-up was not, with no line. The friendly cashier asked if we wanted to order, and didn't mind at all that I didn't get in line until I knew what to get. It's order and pay, with a cash register probably from the 70's (though they do take credit cards through a separate machine), so no itemized bill here. The food does get delivered to your table (it's a very small dining area with probably 6 booths), and you self-bus (strangely they didn't have a garbage can...instead two used dish containers: one for the reusable baskets and one for the garbage). The order is taken by hand on an old diner type notepad, so asked for the order to be repeated back to me, and the cashier did it was a smile. My mother-in-law treated, and she got a Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo ($11.99) with a Pepsi and fries. It comes with a sauce, so chose thousand island on the side. She really enjoyed it, eating the whole thing and most of her fries. My wife got a plain jr ch. burger ($4.99). I got a 1/4 hamburger ($6.69) with everything on it and a request for extra lettuce (which was ignored...sigh). The lettuce is shredded, and the burger patty is char-broiled on a gas grill. I liked it, definitely reminding me of a whopper in its size and use of charred meat. The smell of burning beef fat can definitely be smelt outside. A small chili cheese fries ($8.69) was delivered as the side with my burger and it was very, very good with a mound of shredded cheese on top. Definitely needed a fork with that. Also got a strawberry shake ($7.29) which we shared. It tasted like it was made from real ice cream, and was great, especially with the large dollop of canned whipped cream on top. What I'll remember about this visit: -- the genuinely kind cashier who also delivered our food, one plate at a time as it was prepared. This meant the food was delivered fresh and hot, and it was our choice if we wanted to wait for all plates to come (which took a little bit) before we started. I much rather have this, than other places where they will wait till all dishes are plated before delivering, often meaning one or two dishes are cold before even coming to the diners. Definitely was the reason why this was bumped up to a five. -- the chili here is the kind I really like, and one of the best I've had in the area. It would have been great even as just a bowl, and was delicious. My wife and I ended up finishing the entire chili-cheese fries, and it was a big portion (and the fries were not the best...wished it had been fried longer). read more

They have everything a yellow wrapper burger spot would have. I like the breakfast sandwiches. Beats going to the big M and prices are reasonable. Breakfast burrito is hit or miss sometimes, the hashbrowns can be a bit on the soggy side. Sooo maybe I just have to ask to make them extra crispy idk. The worst the food was so bad me and my daughter got so sick. We got food poisoning. They didn't care never never never again.

Wanted to support a new business in the area, while getting bae a breakfast burrito and decided to stop by this spot and give them a try. The reviews scared me a little but I had already committed and I must say, I was not disappointed. I ordered us two California Egg Burritos and both of us were very pleased. I loath sour cream and they clearly labeled my burrito. Ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. My only suggestion is get a good red or green salsa to pair with their breakfast burrito offerings, would go a long way but our burritos did have pico de gallo, so they were fine. As soon as I walked in was greeted warmly by the young lady working the cash register. One of the line cooks even took the time to greet me. Inside it kind of reminded me of a truck stop diner and there seems to have been patio seating at one time but doesn't look like it's being utilized today. Jim's used to be our regular place for great salads, burgers, fries and pastrami sandwiches but today when we got our usual order the ranch dressing was not the unique yummy ranch we were used too. I'm disappointed that I've slept on this burger joint throughout the years. Jim's Burgers is located within the heart of East Side Long Beach on 7th St and Euclid. My aunt was raving about how great their charbroiled burgers are so we stopped by for lunch today. This establishment offers the usual convenience of drive thru, dine-in and phone orders. We decided to dine in today and the advertised poster on their window caught my eye; a box combo that includes a Jr Western BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, 2 tenders, a side of fries and a drink all for 13.99. Though they offer various box combos on their menu all for 13.99 I was immediately sold on the previous box mentioned and both my aunt and I opted for that combo. The cashier that helped us out provided great service and was kind, helpful and accommodating. The final price of my combo (with an additional thousand island sauce for 75 cents) came down to about $16 which is still a bargain in my eyes considering it is a generous portion of food. Though the dining area is small and offers minimal seating it is very cozy and up-kept. After about 15 minutes the cashier brought us our meals and even went out of her way to provide us extra condiments, I didn't get her name but shout out to her! Now onto the food! My Jr BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger was heavenly. The charbroiled seasoned burger melted in my mouth with every bite. I absolutely love charbroiled burgers and Jim's is definitely a runner up to the infamous Louis Burgers on Atlantic ave. The fries however were just average in my opinion. The tenders were tasty but not as juicy as I would've preferred; nothing special but great for a quick bite. On my next visit I'm definitely giving their chili cheese fries a shot and I'll most likely opt for the larger Western BBQ Burger as the burger alone was a 5/5 for me. Oh man, this place breaks my heart. I really want to support a small local business but they keep disappointing. I can't bring myself to give less than 3 stars, but I can't say I'd recommend it. Fries: when they're good, they're damn good; when they're not, total waste of money. I drove through today for my daughter who wanted chicken and fries, and I saw they were advertising chicken nuggets, so I thought I'd give them a try. They offered a 5-piece for less than $5, and you could make it a meal with fries and a drink. I didn't see what the meal price would be and they didn't tell me when I ordered, but I figured no big deal. I get my food and they charged over $12! For what basically amounted to the size of a happy meal. So let me get this straight - the chicken was $4.39, but the "make it a meal" option added $6.50 extra? What the? On top of that, the fries were trash today. They weren't crispy, but cold and stale, and they didn't even have their regular seasoning. The chicken was also cold, and the skin was soggy. Such a bummer. I didn't order sauce this time, but it should be noted that they do things like charge for ranch, which I just find so annoying. Everyone who works there is always so nice. And like I said, when the food is good, it's really good. But overall, it's not worth the crazy prices when you could just go to any other fast food place for literally half the price. Also, what's up with the app? I've had it for almost a year and I've not noticed any benefit. I can't seem to earn points unless I order ahead. May have found our new burger take out! We've been driving past this place for years but our 'goto' was always the burger joints closer to our house (Signal Hill area). Today we pulled the trigger on trying a new place and Jim's Burgers won. Wow! Great burgers ... charbroiled, arrived hot, the fries were ordered crispy and they didn't disappoint. Being diabetic, I ordered the fried mushrooms (I know, but better than fries), and the mushrooms were a winner! I see some 1 star reviews that people have left, but when you look at them they are old (different owners?) and a lot of them have nothing to do with the food, in fact we were laughing that a lot of them were complaints, and the person was sure to say the food was delish!!! This is my go-to chili cheese fries spot. It's a lot of potatoes, so I appreciate that you can get a small one, which is what I get, rather than other places in town where you can only get the massive square block of carbs. The fries come out crispy, the chili has a good flavor, and the cheese comes fully melted. The price was in the $7 range, but it fills you up for sure. I have had the Jr. Burger before with the BBQ sauce and the onion rings inside it. It was ok. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. Had a great flavor. The cheeseburger had a really nice charbroiled flavor the only problem with the cheeseburger is it was very soggy. I really never write reviews but I'm pretty frustrated and going inside and speaking to them did nothing, so at least I can warn others not to make my mistake. This is what $7+ gets you in onion rings now. They used to be served in a box and it felt like a fair amount. Now I feel totally ripped off. They also seemed to taste a little off but I could be imagining that. I got home from the drive-thru and actually went back because I thought there was a mistake and maybe they used two bags instead of a box, and only gave me one bag. I thought there was no way that was the whole order. But the girl behind the counter said nope, not a mistake. They only give you 7-8 onion rings. So $1 per. Not at all worth it. Just look at their photo in the online menu, that's what one would expect for $8. When I brought that up to the girl at the counter, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I'd post the receipt but they didn't give me one! In fact, they never have every time I've been there. Also I paid cash and they didn't give me the advertised cash discount, same as last time. My fault for returning, I guess.
