The atmosphere is very old school diner vibes. The service style is walk up and order get a number and choose your seat situation. This place was pretty busy when I arrived to meet a friend. We divided and conquered she ordered and I held our booth and we swapped... the food came out incredibly quick! The food was hot tasty and exactly as you'd expect from a French toast breakfast. They have fresh squeezed OJ as well and iced coffee... although I didn't try it today they have a fair amount of Mexican style breakfasts which is always a good choice (I'll be going back) overall this place doesn't have the glamorous bells and whistles but they have friendly staff and great food which in my opinion is the most important part.

The coffee sucks. The breakfast burritos are now mid. The food quality has really gone down hill. Oh, did I mention the $0.39 surcharge for paying with a credit card? Yes, that too. I don't think there are any redeeming qualities of this place now. It must be under new ownership.

    Porkchop and eggs for dinner

Always passed by the spot when I exit on Studebaker and wondered if it was worth visiting. I can tell you that it most definitely was! The menu here is very large and they serve breakfast at any time of the day. I got myself a porckchop with some eggs. The whole plate was delicious and I knew it immediately when I first started eating. The service was great and the food came out fast. I came in on a Tuesday night and there was no one else there except for one other person. I will be coming back and trying something else on their very large menu. I left happy and full!

Found myself in the area with hungry kids and figured I would stop in for dinner, but boy have things changed since I was here last. First thing you may notice is that there's no prices on their menu anymore, and honestly that's for good reason; you would likely shorten your menu options if you knew. The Food: It's standard short order fare. Nothing out of the ordinary, save the price. When I got home I realized that the kids chicken strips were overcooked and essentially chicken jerky, that was a bummer. The Service: Honestly, the service was fine, they were moving quick and were friendly. It was a bummer when they mention that fountain drink refills were $0.59 e v en though the dispenser is customer facing. That's new, and quite unfortunate. Ambiance: The place is clean, it's well lit, and there's a lot of room and seating. My only real issue is that I paid over $30 more for the exact same meals that we get up the street from us, but the chicken isn't burnt, and they don't charge for refills.

This place has been here for ages and it has stayed fairly consistent throughout the years, for the breakfast cravings throughout the day this is a good place to come. The staff for the most part is friendly and willing to help with a few exceptions that come off as borderline rude. The old school diner feel with the wood tables and vinyl booths it's a old classic vibe.

    Pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon

Stopped by for breakfast after getting off from a 10 hour flight. My crew and I were craving pancakes. I went with small stack of pancakes and they were huge. I had hoped my 2 pieces of bacon would be crispier as I prefer. The scrambled eggs were good once I added some salt and pepper. You order your food at the cash register then you find your own seating. Some of the tables were dirty. So I made sure to wipe our table with antibacterial wipes. Our food came out within 10 mins. Overall everyone was satisfied with their food selection.

    Almost gone pastrami sandwich.

I went in about an hour before closing to get food to go. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and a bean and cheese burrito. The staff were busy cleaning and preparing for closing. I ordered at the counter and my food was ready within five minutes. I ate the pastrami and it was delicious. Well constructed, good meat to bread ratio. There weren't big blobs of fat inside like a lot of other pastrami sandwiches I've had. It was lean and tasty. I saved the burrito for tomorrow. The staff were pleasant. The restaurant is in the same center as my church and can get quite busy after services. Luckily there's plenty of seating.

It has the most charming Parisian-themed diner aesthetic, but instead of feeling commercial, it gives off those cozy, small-town local vibes that make you want to stay a while. Everything here is made fresh with the highest-quality, best-tasting ingredients. Here is what we tried and absolutely loved: * The French Toast: My absolute go-to sweet dish! It comes topped with beautiful fresh berries. * Chicken Apple Sausage Breakfast: The perfect choice if you are a savory lover. * Chorizo Plate: Super flavorful and incredibly tasty. The food was so spectacular that I can only imagine how amazing the rest of the menu tastes! To wash it all down, the hot chai was phenomenal, and the coffee is great, too. What really tops it all off, though, is the exceptional service. The staff is super attentive--they are constantly stopping by to top off your water or coffee before you even have to ask. They are incredibly friendly and make a genuine effort to get to know their guests and ensure everyone is pleased. I will definitely be back to Starling Diner!

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. I had the work burger, which has fried portobello mushrooms. Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

I know they don't care because I have complained several times, and nothing gets done. Nothing changes. I have asked friends if they had the fruit and they laugh and say, "raw". Their cantaloupe is alway crispy-raw. It's a 50/50 chance with the melon. Their cooks should be ashamed of themselves for serving it. I've been to every Halloween pop up, they have been doing this for 2 years now. I was there on Sunday 10/04 and had the MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. First, it started at the enterance. My reservation was at 3:45pm. Security checked our ID's and then asked us if we had a reservation. He asked us to wait in line. We were the first ones in line with a reservation anyways and figured we would have to wait just like the others who were still waiting for their 3:30 reservation. No biggie. But. then a much larger group came and stood in front of us who had a 4pm reservation. We didn't think much of it and were waiting patiently until 3:30 and 4pm were called up first and seated before us. It wasn't even 4pm yet! Made security aware of his mistake and we barely got an apology. I let it go and still had to wait more time to be seated. So then we get seated, it takes 30 mins to just get water. No one has came around to take our order or say they will be with us in a few, nothing. As we are waiting another party of 2 come and sit next to us. They waited half the time and were helped before us!!! Welp, it gets worse you just wait. We get our food first, still no drinks. Drinks got there much later. Well, I started to eat my food cause I didn't want it to get cold. Not time to wait for drinks water will do. I bite into my pot pie it was barely warm. I decide to keep eating it until i got to end of the bite and that's when i got cold juice and the dough was mushy. I made the waitress aware (she had just taken over our table) and she put in another order. Not even 5 mins later, I get my second order. I noticed one bit was a little burnt on top but whatever at this point i'm not trying to ruin the experience for my friend. I go to pull apart my 2 bites and i notice the reason why they were stuck. The dough was RAW and the chicken inside was FROZEN. I had my friend poke it because i was shocked and couldn't belive this BS. Called the waitress over she was really sorry and i showed her how i couldn't even cut into the chicken and you could see the ice on the chicken. She offered to bring out another order but I was done. I didn't want to be disrespected yet again by this establishment. She said she would have the manager come talk to me. I didn't really care to do so but he came. He came to the table a little strong and aggressive. Telling me he actually touched the bite and it was WARM. My friend and I sat there SHOCKED! We all poked it and felt it ICE COLD!!!! So, basically calling me a liar to my face. He's telling me he will get another order out, I refused. I told him I would only pay for the 2 drinks and 1 order of the pot pies. He kept going on about how it was only the second day and he didn't hire enough staff and blah blah blah. I don't mind waiting i'm okay with that. But when others are seated before me and waited before me, then the food went from cold to FROZEN. I have a damn problem. He should've saved his "apology", if you can call it that. He did cover our 3 items which was the least he would do after all disrespect i've endured. I sat there waiting for my friend to finish her food and we finished drinks and left. Cindy our waitress took over after the first waitress left to lunch. She was really nice and none of this was her fault. I asked if I could tip her and she refused and said we didn't have to. I wanted to so I did. I insisted! At this point, the manager came around the corner and i could hear him on her about the tip. I had to intervene and tell him I WANTED TO DO THIS FOR HER. He was really out of line with her!!! She was trying to explain to him that i insisted on tipping and he was not listening to her! Get a new manager. This guy is not a people person. He's a gaslighting individual who has now cost you loyal customer. Days ago I get one of your loyal customer emails. Nice way of treating your loyal customers. P.S. It was very obvious who they wanted to seat & serve first and it wasn't the Latina and Black girl.

The food, I had the ribs that came with Mac and cheese , mash potatoes, and corn. The ribs were very tender a little fatty but not bad. The Mac and cheese was the star of the show very cheesy and the noodles were tender, it had a good flavor to it also. My wife had the steak salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The salad wasn't up to par so we had to ask for some mixed greens to and sliced carrots to add to it . It was pretty much just iceberg, lettuce, sliced cucumbers, sliced red onions, and sliced avocado. I originally ordered the side salad that came with mixed greens, sliced red onions, and sliced carrots. My Wife thought her salad would look like that one since it didn't so we made it look like that by adding an additional size salad mixing it with her steak salad so it worked out overall it's worth a try when I go out of my way to come back maybe not but would I come back if I'm in the neighborhood probably so. The service is good. The service were very attentive and the food came out pretty fast as well.
