I went to Dales diner during my lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide array of meals. This diner has an intimate cozy vibe, which sucks you in the moment you sit down. I opted into sitting at the bar and ordered a cold cut turkey sandwich on sourdough bread with avocado and zucchini fries. I don't typically order cold cut sandwiches but the server shared that it is one of her favorites and it caught my attention. I couldn't finish the entire meal so took significant left overs. I visited a breakfast time. My friend ordered the egg, sausage and French toast. Everything looked terrific, with a substantial sausage patty. I ordered the bacon cheddar omelette. It was ok, but not great. Too dense, it needed more fluffy. The coffee was pretty good and I appreciate that they have a half n half option! Our waitress was efficient, but not as prompt with coffee warm ups as we desired. I gave this a 3 star review because it wasn't anything special. The overall experience was pleasant, but not a Wow! Tried Dale's Diner for Sunday brunch and so glad we did! You seat yourself and then a waitress will come over and take your order. They have a kids menu and gave crayons to color on the menu. We went with breakfast foods, I tried the flapjack combo (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and I chose bacon), my husband got the corn beef hash, and my sister the breakfast burrito. All options were solid, the pancakes are big and lasted me 2 more meals! My nephew ordered the chicken tenders with fries and they were also tasty, the ranch here is also a must. This is my Hubbie and my go to Saturday morning breakfast place. I have the same thing every time. The Mustang Omelette. It's my favorite. It has spinach, avocado, green onions and feta cheese. I add a couple of dashes of Tapitio and it's the bomb. Rounded off with crispy hash browns and sourdough toast. We get quick, friendly service every time. We ordered a banana split. The chocolate was Hershey's syrup and not hot fudge. I asked for fudge, and they told me the fudge was too hot to put on the banana split. Curious why it's not too hot for a hot fudge sundae but too hot for a split. How lame. They would not remake it. There were 3 people working and 2 to 3 patrons at a time, and yet we had to wave the waitress over after 5 minutes of waiting for her. Super cute 50's themed diner right by long beach city college. Service was friendly and quick. We came in on a Saturday afternoon (1pm) and we were able to be seated right away. I came here a couple of times, and I like how this diner plays old-school classic music (from the 1950s and 1960s), which are the type of music I love, and of course, the people are really cool, especially the girls (like Winter, Vivian, Delilah, etc.), but what's absolutely really sad and disappointing is that my parents and I learned and found out that their food is frozen. I was absolutely very disappointed to learn and find out that their food is frozen. I wish for this restaurant to replace their frozen food with fresh food instead. That's what every diners like this should know as they should know better. It's our go to classic diner (next to The Village Grill in Claremont). No muss, no fuss. When we got here, it's practically empty with just couple of patrons dining. 50's music coming through the speakers-didn't mind it at all. I was just telling Hubby that I want to experience sitting at the counter to order a good cup of coffee & a slice of warm apple or cherry pie. Today is not the day to sit at the counter (lol). I ordered a burger (medium rare, & Hubby ordered a pastrami sandwich & for me a regular burger on a bun, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce tomato. My combo is accompanied by fries. So happy they still serve Coca Cola products-like I said, classic! Not long after my salad arrived, nothing special but the balsamic vinaigrette was amazing fresh & tangy-just the way I like it, even the croutons were tasty. Right on time, our order was up. Oh my Gosh!! The fries, the fries-- both Hubby & I immensely enjoyed the crispy outer layer, piping hot. These were the perfect fries! He ate all of his before he started on his pastrami. I almost finished mine but had to spot coz I only got to eat barely half of my burger. The beef patty was juicy, tender & bursting with flavor. All the veggies were fresh & the onions were grilled as requested. It was just so tasty & delicious! Hubby really loved his pastrami & he appreciated the soft bread it was served in. I tasted it & It was on point! A tad salty for my taste but I am glad he enjoyed it. He loves pastrami & he says it's better than The Hat (prior to this, he said so far The Hat is top fog on the pastrami front). Those fries, we would probably come back just for the fries hahaha. I was a first timer at dales Decided to finally give this place a try. they have a great amount of private parking up close (they do share it with other businesses) As soon as I walked in it was extremely busy but a waitress came up and told us a booth just opened and she would clean it right away for us. She wasn't kidding. she was extremely fast but she was really thorough with cleaning the booth and the table. Breakfast is served until 2 pm I believe on the weekend, so we had to get some of their loaded country potatoes/ hash browns, and then ordered lunch items. (Bacon cheeseburger and a French dip) The only two things I didn't like were the potato salad, I did have to send that back. They were really nice about it and took it off my bill. And since we ordered two sandwiches with fries and onion rings I don't think they should have charged us for a side of ranch. I think one side of dipping sauce should come with your meal. (Only two downsides) The banana split was out of this world. They had all the classic diner food and dessert. After we ordered the banana split one of the waitresses came to double check if anyone has peanut allergies. So it's always great when staff takes this serious. My former boss, who lives in the area, recommended this wonderful little diner because he takes his daughters here for breakfast after church on Sundays. It's a sweet little 50's style diner (though, for some reason, they only played 60s music) with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered two sandwiches with potato salad and two shakes. The food was excellent and extremely tasty. The service was courteous and helpful. But, be warned, the food is extremely pricey. We think we will go back but, sadly, it will have to be an occasional treat rather than a weekly habit. I guess the pricing reflects the area, which caters to the upper-middle class who can afford to pay $70 for a very basic lunch for two people. read more

Their fries and chili is always good too. If you are with a group, I suggest one get fries and one get chili as sides so you guys can share chili fries! :) The team members are also very friendly and attentive. One of my favorite diners in Long Beach or the whole South Bay area. It's very similar to George's close by in that it is a traditional retro diner modeled after the 1950s. I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and next up on my list was Dale's. I was excited to try it because it's the sort of place that I love to visit and looking from the outside I knew that I would enjoy what was on the menu. They don't have a dedicated parking lot however street parking is extremely easy to find in this part of town so we were able to find a free space right out front. Our server was extremely polite and checked in on us often and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They have a large menu filled with all sorts of great options so it's the sort of place that would be easy to visit multiple times and be able to get something new each time. Pricing is also very fair, which is probably one of my favorite parts of any diner. For this visit, we started off with a Cinnamon Roll, and I honestly was not a fan of it. It was very dry and tasted more like a muffin than a traditional cinnamon roll. I am pretty sure they bought it in a large batch and was not homemade so I would not recommend ordering it. For my meal I chose the Hamburger Steak and Eggs and thought it was great. The patty had a lot of great seasoning on it, and the eggs were cooked perfectly and the portion size was very generous. Overall I really enjoyed it although I was not a fan of the Cinnamon Roll. I would highly recommend to any fan of diners or to anyone in the Long Beach area searching for a great casual meal. read more

I love the vibe of this restaurant, it's like traveling back to the 50s. The waiter was also very friendly. There is plenty of seating available inside. Honestly, I came here because I just finished watching The Menu and was craving a burger. I was about to order a Dale's Combo, but it was a hamburger. I wanted a cheeseburger so I ordered one with grilled onions, tomato, and fries. It took only 5 minutes for my food to arrive. The fries are steak cut so they are a bit thick. The fries came out hot. This was a very satisfying classic burger. There is a lot of lettuce and it provides a nice crunch. The onions blended in seamlessly with the burger. Everything just works. It was pretty sizeable too - was full before even finishing my fries. The only piece of criticism I have is that the burger drips a ton. read more

So here's the thing this place is cute and all it's nice to find breakfast places around town. The staff was pretty friendly and the food was kind of what you'd expect from a diner, which was middle of the road, but I would eat it again nothing to complain about really the problem here that I kind of couldn't get past and let me just say I don't have OCD is that it needs a deep cleaning there are lots of little cute things around, but they're very dusty and everything on the ceiling is very dusty to the point where they're kind of big dust bunnies and so honestly, it kind of ruined my appetite because I thought of all those things falling in my food and then I didn't wanna eat it. I have eaten here two times so I did try to kind of get over it, but they really need to hire someone to come in and do a deep cleaning it looks like it's been a long time. I'm sure the floors in the tables are fine, but you need to get the walls in the ceiling cause it's just too dusty in there. Sorry. read more

The ambiance of the place really takes you back to the 50s, there is a lot of Eddie put into the decor and the colors chosen. The service was really wonderful, we didn't get the ladies name but she treated us with the upmost respect and kindness. I know sometimes going in with a bunch of teens can seem overwhelming for waiters it was five of us and I took another table so the kids can socialize and she was perfectly Okay with it. Cool spot it was definitely a 50's vibe, its located in a nice area when your driving by its not hard to miss! The food was great especially the hash browns.
