    Turkey Sandwich

I went to Dales diner during my lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide array of meals. This diner has an intimate cozy vibe, which sucks you in the moment you sit down. I opted into sitting at the bar and ordered a cold cut turkey sandwich on sourdough bread with avocado and zucchini fries. I don't typically order cold cut sandwiches but the server shared that it is one of her favorites and it caught my attention. I couldn't finish the entire meal so took significant left overs. I am looking forward to enjoying this for lunch tomorrow.

Really cute local spot. Love the decor + nostalgia. The cherry cokes were made w/ coke, cherry syrup + maraschino cherries. The party melt bomb and traditionally made. The zucchini fries were crisp. Very friendly service.

Bottom is the Mustang Omelette. Above is Hubbie's bacon and eggs with hashies! Yum!

This is my Hubbie and my go to Saturday morning breakfast place. I have the same thing every time. The Mustang Omelette. It's my favorite. It has spinach, avocado, green onions and feta cheese. I add a couple of dashes of Tapitio and it's the bomb. Rounded off with crispy hash browns and sourdough toast. We get quick, friendly service every time. I like the old fashioned diner atmosphere and old songs on the overhead speakers. The rest of the menu is great! Hubbie's favorite lunch sandwich is the club. The patty melt and the burgers are delicious! Quick quality service. I encourage you to give it a try

Super cute 50's themed diner right by long beach city college. Service was friendly and quick. We came in on a Saturday afternoon (1pm) and we were able to be seated right away. They play 50's music and are open until 9pm. Their burgers and milkshakes were so good! We shared the basket of frings and it was just the perfect amount. Onion rings were delicious. My boyfriend even said it touched his soul haha, we will definitely be back!

Dale's Diner is the definition of a classic Long Beach spot. I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. This time I rolled in with my homie after a flight--it's super convenient since it's not too far from the airport--and it hit the spot perfectly. I ordered the patty melt on rye, and wow... it was exactly what a patty melt should be. Crispy golden bread, perfectly melted cheese, and that juicy patty cooked just right. Comfort food at its best. My buddy got the same thing, and we were both just grinning like kids at how good it was. Our server, Brooke, really made the experience even better. She was kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. You can tell she actually cares about her customers. Dale's isn't trying to be flashy--it's just a timeless diner where the food is tasty, the staff is friendly, and you always leave full and happy. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to, and that's exactly what I've been doing for years. Highly recommend the patty melt if you want the real deal!

It's been awhile since I've been to a diner for some good ol breakfast. Service was good. They kept the diner coffee coming. Food hit the spot. I ordered the chicken fried steak which turned out more like country fried steak. Not what I was hoping for, but most places serve it as a patty. Nonetheless, food was comforting. I like their homemade rye bread. Parking was easy. The atmosphere takes you back to 1950.

This is the turkey burger and the sweet potato fries.

I came here a couple of times, and I like how this diner plays old-school classic music (from the 1950s and 1960s), which are the type of music I love, and of course, the people are really cool, especially the girls (like Winter, Vivian, Delilah, etc.), but what's absolutely really sad and disappointing is that my parents and I learned and found out that their food is frozen. I was absolutely very disappointed to learn and find out that their food is frozen. I wish for this restaurant to replace their frozen food with fresh food instead. That's what every diners like this should know as they should know better. Another thing I don't like about this restaurant is how the parking for our vehicles are and that most of the food contains bread as well.

9/5/24 Can't decide? Go to Dale's!!!! So freaking good we did & it totally hit the spot Hubby said he wasn't famished so it's my choice. I wanted somewhere that's close by, not loud (or screaming & running rug rats everywhere (hahaha), with unassumingly good food & not too trendy .... This place has all the check boxes. It's our go to classic diner (next to The Village Grill in Claremont). No muss, no fuss. When we got here, it's practically empty with just couple of patrons dining. 50's music coming through the speakers-didn't mind it at all. I was just telling Hubby that I want to experience sitting at the counter to order a good cup of coffee & a slice of warm apple or cherry pie. Today is not the day to sit at the counter (lol). I ordered a burger (medium rare, & Hubby ordered a pastrami sandwich & for me a regular burger on a bun, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce tomato. My combo is accompanied by fries. So happy they still serve Coca Cola products-like I said, classic! Not long after my salad arrived, nothing special but the balsamic vinaigrette was amazing fresh & tangy-just the way I like it, even the croutons were tasty. Right on time, our order was up. Oh my Gosh!! The fries, the fries-- both Hubby & I immensely enjoyed the crispy outer layer, piping hot. These were the perfect fries! He ate all of his before he started on his pastrami. I almost finished mine but had to spot coz I only got to eat barely half of my burger. The beef patty was juicy, tender & bursting with flavor. All the veggies were fresh & the onions were grilled as requested. It was just so tasty & delicious! Hubby really loved his pastrami & he appreciated the soft bread it was served in. I tasted it & It was on point! A tad salty for my taste but I am glad he enjoyed it. He loves pastrami & he says it's better than The Hat (prior to this, he said so far The Hat is top fog on the pastrami front). Those fries, we would probably come back just for the fries hahaha. Our server, Karrie was very friendly, attentive & checked on us many times to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. Great choice!

I was a first timer at dales Decided to finally give this place a try. they have a great amount of private parking up close (they do share it with other businesses) As soon as I walked in it was extremely busy but a waitress came up and told us a booth just opened and she would clean it right away for us. She wasn't kidding. she was extremely fast but she was really thorough with cleaning the booth and the table. Breakfast is served until 2 pm I believe on the weekend, so we had to get some of their loaded country potatoes/ hash browns, and then ordered lunch items. (Bacon cheeseburger and a French dip) The only two things I didn't like were the potato salad, I did have to send that back. They were really nice about it and took it off my bill. And since we ordered two sandwiches with fries and onion rings I don't think they should have charged us for a side of ranch. I think one side of dipping sauce should come with your meal. (Only two downsides) The banana split was out of this world. They had all the classic diner food and dessert. After we ordered the banana split one of the waitresses came to double check if anyone has peanut allergies. So it's always great when staff takes this serious. Everyone in here was extremely friendly, they have very large portions and they also offered a military discount. I would 1000 percent be back

Super friendly service, quick meal, great price for a steak and came with several sides, fries, Cole slaw and a soup or salad. Love the 50s diner vibe here from the decor to the booths. Feels like a time warp to a simpler and friendlier time just walking in the door.

    Lunch for two on 10/4/25

My former boss, who lives in the area, recommended this wonderful little diner because he takes his daughters here for breakfast after church on Sundays. It's a sweet little 50's style diner (though, for some reason, they only played 60s music) with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered two sandwiches with potato salad and two shakes. The food was excellent and extremely tasty. The service was courteous and helpful. But, be warned, the food is extremely pricey. We think we will go back but, sadly, it will have to be an occasional treat rather than a weekly habit. I guess the pricing reflects the area, which caters to the upper-middle class who can afford to pay $70 for a very basic lunch for two people.

Fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and cornbread. Everything was delicious!

Wow, first time here and now I wish I lived closer! Came here for dinner after seeing a matinee play at The Aurora Theater. Great menu where they even serve breakfast all day. I ordered the fried chicken dinner, which was huge and tasty! Everything tasted homemade, right down to the cornbread and steamed vegetables. Our waitress was very attentive and super nice. The pic is of my leftovers after I was completely stuffed!

It's about how management handled it. We made a reservation three days in advance to watch the Mexico World Cup match. We arrived 10 min early to our reservation in anticipation of the crowds. We received confirmation by both email and text, but when we arrived, we were told there was no reservation and "nothing they could do." Despite showing proof of our confirmed reservation, they refused to honor it and told us there were no tables available. Seconds later, another group walked up and asked to join the waitlist, and he gladly added them. I then asked why we couldn't be added--considering we had a confirmed reservation--and only then did he put us on the list. When a restaurant makes a mistake, the bare minimum is trying to make it right. We should have been given priority on the waitlist. Instead, after nearly two hours of waiting, we were still ninth in line even though the wait time for our table size showed 0 minutes. We left without ever being seated. Thankfully before the match began, we walked over to Broken Spirits (5 min walk away) where they seated us within 15 minutes and even gave us complimentary drinks to celebrate the game. The difference in hospitality was incredible. This wasn't my first disappointing experience here, either. On a previous visit, I waited outside to be seated for so long that I eventually gave up and seated myself at the bar. To make matters worse, the food and drinks don't justify the price. Cocktails are around $20, filled with ice, and underwhelming. As a customer, I left Ordinarie feeling dismissed and disrespected. Between the poor service, overpriced menu, and management's complete lack of accountability, I won't be returning. If you're in the DTLB area, I would recommend better drinks/better service at Broken Spirits or Midnight Oil :)

We weren't looking for a free meal--we just expected food that matched the quality a restaurant should serve and customer service that takes legitimate concerns seriously. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations, and I won't be returning.

Parking: Free in the small lot in the back. If the lot is full, you can usually find nearby street parking. Service: Excellent! Our server, Jairo, was prompt and very friendly. Dogs: Allowed on the patio. No restrictions on them having to be under the table or otherwise hidden. We had the corner table at the front which my girl loved because she solicited pets from people through the little fence and had plenty of room to stretch out. Food: I ordered the Grand Prix omelet with super spuds and biscuit and gravy. Everything was hot and most of it was delicious. My only complaint was that I felt like the gravy has changed since my last visit. I used to love it but this time it was thinner, not as flavorful, and had an almost see-through quality to it. Not sure how to describe it, but I wouldn't order it again. The biscuit was good, though. My girl got scrambled eggs and bacon and they cut up the bacon, much appreciated! Everything I've had here over the years is good, including their pancakes, fruity pebble french toast, and curly fries! We will be back for another patio visit soon. :)

Service is a little slow, but it doesn't seem so bad if you're with a group of people. This place definitely has local vibes written all over it. You could tell many customers come here often. Definitely come hungry!
