I try to find hidden gems in my city of Long Beach to help bring great dinning experiences to our community that help support small businesses. I found this amazing little sub shop is an old school mom and pop sandwich shop that brings incredible flavors to your dining experience, t's truly amazing. The costumer service is great the food is always freshly made. I have been here on different days and the atmosphere, and the food is delicious the customer service is always pleasant. They have something for everyone, their diversity in price point makes it a stress free and enjoyable to choose from. The menu is family friendly the selection for kids is fun and has a variety easy to choose from delicious food items. The shop is always clean and welcoming I have never been there and smelled any unpleasant odors or seen dirty floors or tables. Middle of the road experience. The food was fresh and they were not stingy with the fillings. My order was takeout so I did not have much of an experience beyond the cash register. This spot is A-OK. Nothing really special or to write home about but it gets the job done. I had the French Dip. It's pretty basic but filling, I would say that it's good enough. Service is fine. Folks that work here aren't overly warm or friendly but definitely not rude. The dining room itself would benefit from a remodel but their business model will probably yield the same results regardless of the ambiance provided. Took a friend who works nearby to get lunch. The shop is not inspiring and looks like either they are stuck in covid 19 land or love plexiglass barriers. I should of ran out the door but i gave them a try. One of the most basic sandwiches is a hot pastrami and they served by far the worst pastrami sandwich ever. The bun was super soggy, pastrami looked more like warmed deli ham and the mustard was scant. Epic fail! read more

They work fast. They had a line of about 5 people with others waiting who had already ordered, and they got all of our orders out to us quickly and efficiently. Great corned beef, kraut, mustard, mayo, all the things you need for a traditional Reuben on rye. Not "the best" sandwich I have ever eaten, but a very good Reuben, the prices were very reasonable, and you can get a great sub super quick, even during a lunch rush. My favorite item is the California Garden Salad - Avocado and Egg is included! They also bake their own bread! I said what do you have? He said bacon, sausage, and ham! I said I will do the all meat burrito. Ok, ready in 10 minutes. I get there to pay for my burrito, the guys put in 4 breakfast burritos (remember they're $5 each). Guy said total is $44. I said WTF. He upcharged me $4 each burrito for extra meat. I've lived in Signal Hill my whole life and drove past this place for years. Now that I'm 27, I finally decided to give this place a try. Parking was easy, plenty of spots in the lot. Inside, it felt like a nice whole in the wall, it seemed to not have been renovated since. The workers are nice, it looks to be Korean family owned. I decided to get the Italian cold cut to go. The sandwiches were pretty affordable and you get a good portion of everything. I love Sub King. I've been here more than what Yelp shows my check in number to be. It's close to work and service is both friendly and quick. Also, it appears to be a small mom & pop operation so I'm happy to support. So, across the street from Costco, in the Turner's plaza. It's where Sub King is. Parking can be tight at lunch. However, there's parking around back and on the street when it's not under construction. It's not a big spot. So, not ideal for large groups. Unless you happen to be lucky and get there when the spot is empty. A lot of takeout business. I've tried more sandwiches than I've posted pics of. Sometimes I forget. I'm getting old. I really enjoy my sandwiches on French Roll. If you check out my pics, you'll see the generous portions and fresh ingredients.
