It's a to go Mongolian BBQ spot and it's legit like a full real Mongolian style place. You grab two bowls load one with meat and veg and the other with noodle. I like they do the sauces for you because I never know how much to put on. It was amazingly quick and delicious! And it stayed hot for like 30 minutes of driving and it was still hot! First of all we were so happy to see a Mongolian place not in a mall. We tried this out cuz we're were really hungry. First of all the selection is vast. You star with two bowls and fill one with meat and one with veggies. They have serving tongues for each meat type so if you have allergies and mess it up it's on you. My only feedback was to be to label what each veggie is in case people don't know but we should be able to know what works for us and what doesn't if you are adults! And if you're a child well hope your parent knows how to manage your allergies. Any review claiming allergy issue is clearly someone who wants to blame someone else for their own fault in triggering their allergy. Anyways back to the food. I got the beef, pork and various veggies with mild. It was so tasty. The best noodles I have had at a place like this in a while. And their mild was great in spicy. If you can handle a whole bag of hot Cheetos without drinking water mild is for you! Don't go higher. For both of our plates we paid around $37. The service was amazing. The cashier was so nice and helped us learn about the place and how to order. If you eat there enjoy it outside, since the inside gets a little hot from the stove. First look, walking in, they must be doing something right because there was a line. It's a small spot, so if you're planning to eat there, space is limited indoor and out. Don't be a rookie like me, and assume to just get 1 bowl for everything. There's literally a sign that says to separate noodles from your ingredients I like that the choices weren't overwhelming, and the wait for them to prep wasn't long. Went to my usual Asian restaurant Asian Chef and saw they were closed ( like permanently closed ). This is located two doors down. It's a walk in - to go only, Mongolian bbq place that charges by the pound. One bowl meat, one bowl veggies and noodles. At the beginning they have the option of chicken, beef, and pork. All separate tongs which is great. Then you choose your veggies. There is no labels on the veggies and I would personally change that. But for those who love seafood like me, at the END of the veggie line there is imitation crab meat. Would be helpful to have placed that at the front so I would know there is another more desirable meat option for myself. They sauce it for you and you choose which sauces you prefer. The staff was helpful and the food definitely stayed HOT until I got to my destination 20 minutes away. The noodles are also on the larger side. My total was 23 dollars and that was with a large drink. I would definitely recommend and there will be more than enough left over. Grand Opening of Khan's Mangolian is a great addition to Bixby Knolls community! I love Mongolian BBQ. But I really haven't found one with rich, delicious flavors as since back in the days in the early 2000s. I was excited to try Khan's as $6.50 a lb is a great price. Unfortunately there is not enough flavor. In honesty, very bland even though I asked them to add a lot of garlic to it. Its the bbq/house sauce they add to it is not enough tastes and flavoring. Other than that, there are no flavors to the food as they are raw veggies, and frozen meats are not marinated, so I'm not understanding the other Yelper said they don't need the sauce. I'm sure if they tweak the ingredients by adding some oyster sauce or other seasoning, it would be more flavorful. Veggies are very fresh. Beef is ok quality, but kind of tough. The noodles were not my favorite type because it gets really soggy if you have leftover for later or the next day. Even at $6.50 lb, I don't know how I got $19 plate, lol. Great Mongolian BBQ spot! They had a wonderful selection of toppings and everything tasted fresh. Customer service was great, pricing was reasonable, and parking was easy which is always a plus in Long Beach. The ambiance was wonderful and overall just a really good experience. The only thing I would personally skip next time are the extra sauces they put on the grill because the food already has plenty of seasoning and flavor on its own, so it was a little too much for me. They use beef belly for their beef option which makes the flavors really come together. Was visiting the UPS store a few doors down and the food aroma was intoxicating! The food tastes as good as it smells. The instructions on how to order is clear and easy to follow; grab two bowls. Bowl one is for your meat (beef, pork or chicken). Bowl two is for your veggies and noodles. Then you have the option of sauces (house, garlic, lemon, etc). Place your bowls by the grill and the cooks prepare it in this big circular rotating grill. You pay based on the cooked weight. My total came to $14. It was too much for for me to finish. Yep! I just went in earlier today to try this place out. I have no complaints about the food but one which is a bit alarming for people whom have food allergies. I was provided with the wrong "order" and I tried contacting the store via phone and no answer. If anyone goes to this place, make sure it's your order if you have any food allergies. I was excited to finally have a Mongolian bbq place open in Long Beach, it's my favorite type of food! Although I have to say I'm slightly disappointed. The prices seem a little high and even though they kinda add the sauces and seasonings for you the flavor was bland. The selection of meats and veggies are good just the flavoring needs some work and it would be nice if we can do it ourselves I stead of the chefs. I guess I just have high expectations when compared to Caesar's Mongolian in Cerritos I was hoping for something around that level. My wife and I went here for lunch today and we were very impressed with the way that this has been set up. Choose your own meat, choose your own veggies, and choose noodles. They weigh it and cook it, and just like that you've got a dish. My only critique would be that it would be good to have another noodle option. Price seemed very reasonable to me. Seating was outdoors. I appreciated the refills on sodas, and the stack of coupons that I was given by the owner. Overall, this is a wonderful addition to Bixby Knolls. I've always loved Mongolian food, especially the kind you find at the mall, so while making a quick trip to CVS I noticed Khan's Mongolian nearby and decided to give it a try. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. I was chatting with a few of the employees and the cashier and mentioned that my wife had just given birth at the nearby hospital and that I was picking up food for both of us. Without me asking, they gave me a discount and even included a drink. To some people that might seem like a small gesture, but to an exhausted new dad trying to juggle everything, it meant so much. It was an act of kindness that I won't forget. From my family to theirs, thank you for your generosity and compassion during such a special time in our lives. While this review may sound like it's mostly about the customer service, the food absolutely deserves the praise too. It was fresh, packed with great flavor, and exactly what we were hoping for. They'll ask what additional ingredients you would like before they start cooking. Garlic, soy sauce, how spicy etc. The finished product will be weighed and you will charged by the scale. I went to try this place with very high expectations, but that didn't go so well. Their system for cooking the bowls is not organized. Let me explain: when you go to other places like these, you are in line with your bowl and can keep track of it at all times. Here, you leave it on the counter and hope they go in order. Regrettably, I received an incorrect order. While the lady inquired about the appearance of the prepared dish, it is inherently difficult to discern individual orders once cooked, as they tend to look similar. I know for 20 facts I didn't put celery in my bowl, yet there was plenty of it. I did put baby corn, yet there was none. Should you choose to visit, I recommend closely monitoring your order. If you go, make sure you pay attention to your plate. It is about $6.50 per pound; you pay at the end. I am very disappointed. It did not taste good; it was bland. It's not worth the hype, in my opinion. (You won't know if you're getting the bowl you prepared yourself or someone else's; prepare to be upset). read more
