The food here is awful. I don't understand how they've been in business for so long. My husband got it for lunch this week; I had a little of it too. The orange chicken was mushy, bread-y and fatty. I didn't even get a distinct piece of chicken. The chow mein noodles were bland and tasted like peanuts. The garlic pork was dry and the teriyaki chicken was nasty. I don't think you can cook pork cutlets to the point of show leather. But once again my thinking got me in trouble. The shrimp dish I ordered had me thinking I had once again found a winner with DoorDash. Alas, it was the red herring of the order. It was scrumptious and delicious. Then I ate the pork dish. One piece was decent. The second piece was offensive. The shrimp dish I ordered leads me to want to give it another try after a few months. I can't order it again any time soon because I am still traumatized from the deep fried leather loafer disguised as pork Katsu ! Please don't not try this place based on my review. I ordered online take-out and was surprised that the estimated pick-up time was 50 minutes. We ended up getting at the restaurant about 20 minutes in and thought we'd check just in case the food was already done. When we got there, the worker seemed shocked about the order and said there wasn't one. Since I was more than positive it existed, we just told him, please check again. Sure enough, he's like, "oh there it is, I'll put it in." Um...ok. :/ It wasn't busy but the food took quite a while to be ready. The service is slow. I've had a good share of experience ordering take-out Ramen and this place, by far has the most bizarre way of packaging it. The toppings and dry ingredients of the Ramen were in a bento box and the broth was in a small container clearly not able to hold the Ramen and additions. Luckily for us, we have big bowls at home to transfer everything into, but what if we wanted to eat in the car or at some other location? It would have been a dipping Ramen situation? That's not right. The Chicken and the Tonkotsu Ramen respectively lack the flavor punch and profile of what someone who's eaten a fair share of Ramen is used to tasting. I had to add extra seasonings on the ramens just to make them more enjoyable. Their chow mein was bland and flavorless as well. :-( The only item that was okay was their teriyaki chicken. Overall, the likelihood of us returning is extremely low. There are many options for Chinese food in the area and this one doesn't compete with those other options in our humble opinion. read more

The food was alright... It was edible at the very best. If you're vegan and looking for a place to get something resembling Japanese food, I suppose this place is fine. The pork katsu was tough and difficult to eat, it definitely did not feel like it was freshly fried and it was very likely reheated from pre-made katsu that had been sitting for hours. The curry was more oil than sauce, and gave me a stomachache after I ate it. Price was high for a katsu curry of this quality. I got up charged without being told carrots and potatoes cost 3 dollars extra until I saw the receipt after, and the carrots and potatoes were bitter and cold. Can not recommend this place highly enough. A fully functioning Japanese menu with a fully functioning vegan menu along side it. It is so hard to find places where this is something for everybody. The staff is kind and likable, it is a family run business. The portions are good for the money and something about it feels quintessentially Los Angeles. They also have a sweet and sour fake chicken, which reminds me of Panda's beyond chicken before they stopped serving it. There is also vegan tonkotsu ramen, and others. As someone who isn't big on veggies, it is the healthiest "fast food" I have and will ever order and will continue to order, especially for a busy weeknight. Offering vegan options is also a good thing, but I think it would do better to focus on a specialty and do it really well. The New Orleans chicken was okay but it tasted generic like most items served at Panda Express. I will definitely return to try more entrees because it's such a convenient location for lunch, but I have been spoiled by eating really authentic Chinese food over the years. They have vegan options and not your typical options like tofu and veggies, orange tofu, or eggplant. they have vegan beef and vegan chicken to name a few. My favorite is the vegan Thai tea with boba. If you are a vegan/vegetarian/plant based I highly recommend this place. If you are a meat eater I also highly recommend this place and maybe trytheir vegan menu (they also have non vegan menu if you're too scared to try something new/plant based) lol. I promise you that the vegan menu is legit and can make transitioning to a vegan/vegetarian/plant based lifestyle easier. The staff is beyond friendly and really accommodating. Definitely a bit higher quality than your standard fast Chinese! And they have the Taiwanese sausage fried rice which was my favorite, delicious! I got a large order of orange chicken, the fried rice, large vegan chow mein, about $35 and it was more than enough for 3 people. The chicken was good but not my favorite, it more of a sour taste than I'm used to. But anyway I'll for sure be back to try other dishes! Very confused looking at the 5 star reviews before mine. Maybe going during lunch time on a Thursday isn't the best choice. I tried the chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, and beef broccoli. Options were very limited. All of my items were cold and unfortunately flavorless. The orange chicken was tough and rubbery. The chow mein was dry and tasted like straight boiled noodles. I got a 3 combo meal Noodles, greasy and dry Mushroom Chicken- Super Greasy, Chicken was full of fat, veggies were like baby food. Orange Chicken- I broke the Cardinal rule in Do Not take the last serving, ask for fresh. Hardly and Orange sauce, very dry and hard. As I walked out they dropped a fresh tray of OC, boy did that piss me off. Kung Pao Chicken- served in a side container, didnt even bother, threw it away. Service- I cant say because the two women were so quiet I couldnt hear a word they said. I understand not wasting food but to serve me the last of a tray then, refresh it right after, horrible. At least dump the new over the old and mix it up. All they chairs were up on the tables as if they were closed or didn't want you to sit down. It wasn't there to dine in so didn't care. There were a few homeless sitting outside eating outta their shopping carts, maybe the chair issue. They werent a issue, enjoying their food. Over all Not Happy at all. Will Not return. We placed an order over the phone for take out one evening. We ordered a vegan family meal. With vegan pineapple chicken, vegan beef broccoli, and the vegan New Orleans chicken. It also came with egg rolls, chow mein, fried rice, and white rice. The food was ready to go when we arrived. The food was all very very greasy and saturated in the different sauces. The beef broccoli was okay but very salty, the pineapple chicken was very greasy and sweet. The chow mein was flavorless and the fried rice also lacked flavor. We have had better food from here before, this time it was a little disappointing and we didn't even want to finish our food as it was so greasy I started to feel sick after eating. I love they have all kinds of vegan options but it does need some improvement. read more

Since the COVID stay at home order, I probably have been here more than 3 times because I love their Vegan Mushroom Chicken and their Chow Mein. Vegan food are all made to order. I called in my order and I think this is the first time I believe it was the chef who picked up. I wanted extra garlic in my Chow Mein. She stated that she normally does not put garlic in it, but will do it because I asked. Employees were all wearing masks. They are always very generous with their portions. I only asked them to put garlic in my Chow Mein, but when I got home, there was also garlic in my Mushroom Chicken as well! Wow, were they generous with their garlic! I loved how they made it!!! Putting extra garlic in it really enhanced the flavor in both dishes. I was able to break them both up into two meals I will definitely be back again and ordering my food with extra garlic! read more

I sat in the parking lot and gave them a call. This is the only place I know that makes the cold noodle salad with the Orleans chicken. Three times in the past year I've tried to order this and each time they said "oh it's out of season". But this last time I gave them a call the guy answered the phone I asked for the cold noodle salad and he straight said "we don't make that anymore." My heart crumbled and my stomach cried... The signs were so small and I'm glad they've upgraded to a large sign. vegan options taste so close to the originals. It was just OK, nothing special. I got vegan Mongolian Beef. I've made homemade much better. They use veggie meatballs, and a TON of onions. Had I of known about the onions I would have asked for a different vegetable. I can't tolerate onions. The rice was bland chow mien was tasty but very oily. The vegan special comes with I think vegan crab wontons, they were gross. The egg rolls tasted like lighter fluid. The vegan potato wontons we're good. So, check this place off my list.
