May 17, 2026 Love this little hole in the wall. Located in a strip mall behind El Pollo Loco, it's a hidden gem for good Chinese food. There's no dining inside so everything thing is "to go". I love their Shrimp Fried Rice and I always order extra shrimp. Their Orange Chicken is also very good, and I get a bag of Fortune Cookies for later snacking. They have a large Uber Eats/Grubhub stream of business. I always go pick up my food but would consider using one of these services in the future. Food is reasonably priced and staff are very friendly. There's both street and lot parking. Give it a try.

I've been wanting to try JJ Chinese Express since i get my car washed right across at Coastline! Walked in and it's definitely a place you go to order your food and eat it somewhere else. No frills no tables to dine in at but the food I got was great! Big portions too! I ordered the Szechuan beef with fried rice and a small order of roasted pork chow mein which fed me for 3 days! Order was freshly made as it was piping hot when I got it. For the price I'll definitely be back and try some other dishes.

Probably one of the best Chinese Fast Food joints in the LBC! I ordered this through door dash for my kids because they wanted Egg Fu Young. It's a small shop right behind El Pollo Loco on the East side. We pass by this spot and never had the opportunity to try it. Saw their reviews on their Egg Fu Young and we had to try it. It was so savory and absolutely delicious. I ordered the house special egg fu young and the house combination egg fu young. My son is pretty hard to impress when it comes to Chinese fast food- he is very picky. Well this is going to be our go to spot Chinese food spot!

All of my faves from here- Orange chicken, fried rice, combo low mein and chicken pot stickers. Yum!

Solid place for Chinese food takeout! We usually order the orange chicken dinner combination plate with fried rice and cheese wontons with the egg drop soup and they give huge portions-huge plus! I also love the chow mein although it's a tad greasy, but very very delicious! There is plenty of parking and it's easy to pull in and pick up your takeout. Great value for your money here as well. With all Chinese food I just recommend polishing it off while it's fresh because it doesn't re heat super great. But as far as Chinese takeout goes in Long Beach this is one of my fave spots so check them out!

Great selection, delicious hot food, and service. JJ is another LB Hitter. I appreciate how you can order half portions. This is such a great value!

Side Wonton Soup for lunch. A little bit if soy sauce and it's perfection.

Love this place! I used to order delivery from here when I stayed near downtown LB. You gotta get delivery for certain places when living close to downtown, am I right people? (IYKYK) And it has gotten better since the last time I had it. I was craving something from here but could not figure out what until I went through the lunch menu... it was the honey garlic chicken. Yums. I ordered the honey garlic chicken, beef and broccoli and green beans in brown sauce all from the lunch menu. $30 with tip. The lunch options come with an egg roll, choice of white or fried rice and the choice of soup or a soda. Nothing disappointed. Everything on point. They upgraded their fried rice, very nice. The only thing I wish was that they were closer to my current place.

A friend told me about JJ's Chinese Food, and I'm so glad they did. This is my third time visiting, and the food never disappoints. Whether ordering through DoorDash for pick-up or calling in, the process is always easy and convenient. The prices are unbeatable, and the customer service is consistently top-notch. I attached a photo below look at all this delicious food for just $30! While parking can be a bit tricky sometimes, everything else is a perfect 10 out of 10. Highly recommend JJ's Chinese Food for anyone looking for great Chinese food and exceptional service! I had their garlic fried chicken wings last time and Man oh man they were delicious. Packing flavor inside and out. This place is takeout only.

Not a bad spot. Food was made to order, so I had to wait about 10 min, which I am totally cool with for fresh food. Mixed chow mein with shrimp, chicken and beef was just ok. Nothing I would drive out to order again, but got the job done. I saw a lot of people coming in and out for take out orders and Door Dash, so they are doing something right. I think I just prefer the steam tray Chinese fast food experience, so I will stick with my China Wok Express.

Do they have catering trays or provide food for parties?

I'm not sure you should just give them a call. I'm sure they do. I've seen them packing for a party. It looks like.

I want to try. Is it clean?

It looks like it. It's just a pickup food place. Nowhere to sit. I went off the reviews and the reviews were good. The food is super good. Best I've found in LBC

Is the Kung Pao tofu vegan? Can it be made vegan if it's not vegan by default?

I get nervous with the phrase "Chinese fast food". Is this just fast Chinese? Or is this Panda Express quality?

    Is the chow menu vegan?

hello, all chow mein cook with brown sauce. Us brown sauce have some Oyster sauce.

Do the cream cheese wontons have any meat in them?

I ordered the cheese wonton and no it did not have any meat. They were fried to perfection

One of the highlights is their Thai tea, which is served with a popsicle and seems to be one of their most popular items for good reason. It's fun, unique, and absolutely delicious. Another unexpected favorite was the wings. I'm usually not a big wings person, but these were surprisingly good--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. Kin was one of the only restaurants open until 10 PM. We were seated right away, and somehow the five of us sat in a private room. It was kind of late for me to eat anything really heavy so I just have my usual salad and it was the beef tenderloin salad. They serve it up with a lot of beef and less veggies. The beef itself was a little chewy and in large pieces. I prefer the meat to be cut a little smaller and would like more lettuce and cucumber. I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! The Thai tea itself was pretty standard, but that popsicle was like the icing on a cake. The places, modern and clean. Staff is helpful and nice. Everything was pretty good with my standouts being the hand-pulled noodles and the tofu & shiitake mushroom entree. You could tell the hand-pulled noodles were fresh and made by hand. The sauce on it was good but too salty. The tofu & shiitake dish was served in a savory and tasty home/brown sauce. The scallion pancake was good as well, just much thinner than other scallion pancakes. The Chinese broccoli was good, but I thought it was more bitter than usual Chinese broccoli dishes. The fried rice was okay.

We were seated and the food came out quickly, but after that, service was a bit slow. We tried several things including the crab and pork soup dumplings, shrimp wonton in chili oil, house beef noodle soup, orange chicken, and walnut shrimp. Definitely a place you can easily have a family style meal at! Crab and pork soup dumplings - really good flavor, wish there was slightly more soup in the dumpling! Would definitely get again, especially if you get their HH price Walnut shrimp - my new favorite walnut shrimp in the area! These came out nice and fresh, shrimp was cooked well, sauce was good balance of sweet and savory Beef noodle soup - broth was surprisingly not as hearty as the deep color would make you think, but still very full of beef flavor. The beef was very tender, melt in your mouth! Noodles were nicely bouncy with mild chew. Good option if you are in the mood for noodle soup Orange chicken - unfortunately seemed to be a mix of freshly cooked and an old order as some pieces were warmer than others. Good flavor, but chicken inside the breading was quite dry. Wish it was a bit saucier Shrimp wonton in chili oil - to me had a strange aftertaste. It does have cucumber in the wonton - warm cucumber taste was not for me Inside had a rustic appearance with brick walls and industrial lights. A good place to eat with a few friends and try different things. Would come back for the walnut shrimp and crab and pork soup dumplings!

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using. It felt a little careless and took away from an otherwise good experience.
