Nomad is the best local Chinese Food! We ordered to go frequently and occasionally we dine in. Take out orders travel well, packed to keep the food piping hot! Leftovers reheated very well (take out ir dine in). The quanities are very generous and we usually get several meals out of one order! This visit we dined in. We ordered some of our favorites as it was only two if us dining. Their Hot & Sour Soup is the best in town! Mongolian Beef and Honey Walnut Shrimp are two main dishes we again. Both were excellent! House Fried Rice (includes shrimp, chickenn and beef) is a great choice! Service is always friendly and amazingly fast! Food is freshly prepared. Our server was Mary and she checked on us often. We come here at least a few times a month, definitely coming back soon!

Todat is Valentines Day! I have been sleeping on this establishment for years. I did not know there was a chinese food restaurant in this area. This place is hidden! The only way I found this restaurant was through youtube. There was an old Asian couple that gave this place high praises in their YouTube review. Kudos to that couple for doing so! This is the only reason why I wanted to check this place out myself. Entered this establishment and was greeted by the host. She sat us down next to the glass windows. Asked what we wanted to order for drinks, I stated a Coke and some water. Minutes passed, received our beverages. Water tasted good! Ordered from the Lunch Special menu which was only $15. That is a great deal! It comes with soup, entree and your choice of rice (white rice or brown rice with egg). This Lunch Special starts at the time of opening to 3pm. 7 days a week! Excluding federal holidays. Entrees ordered was snowpea chicken and some beef peppers. The taste and presentation did not dissapoint. They serve you alot of food for being a Lunch Special. The quality is fresh! Overall all I was impressed pertaining to quantity and quality. The ambiance does not have fancy decor or tables/chairs. The place was old school. I felt like I was in the 80s. Lots of parking. Big Kudos to Mary for being so nice. She was busy but still manages to be patient. The only thing that was missing and would like to see is for this place giving free tea out of courtesy. That would be a nice complimentary add to customers. Thumbs up to this chinese restaurant!

Every time I come here, the food is delicious, served hot and fresh, and the restaurant is fully packed with every table taken. Plenty of parking outside and plenty of options on the menu for everyone. Highly recommend this spot for large family gatherings as the food is family style.

This is a big place with a lot of seating. Some close friends told us about this place, and I made it high time for us to come in for a visit. This place serves traditional Chinese but doesn't have pork. Why you ask? This restaurant is a Chinese Islamic restaurant. They have Arabic artwork and it really works well with everything on the walls. Before I get to the food, I wanted to write about the help. A waitress named Mary came by and sat with us, helping us out figure out what combination of dishes we should have. She was a nicest, most personable person I have ever met. She looked after us from beginning to end. Since my partner wanted the Jalapeño shrimp, we got veggie fried rice, broccoli beef, and chicken chow mein. Before that, she wanted a pair of veggie egg rolls that came with a dip and she really enjoyed them. The food came out, but I waited for everything to come out. It was an amazing array of food that we took into the next day. Everything was great. Chewy and crunchy broccoli, flavorful chow mein, and soft rice. Pricewise, it was just right and i gave this place a great tip . I will definitely come back, and it's nice to know I can move away from express Chinese food for some time now.

Been coming to Nomad for halal chinese for almost 15+ years. Best quality of chinese food!

Average Chinese Food. The Wonton Soup was decent. It has a dark broth. It was like a War Wonton because it had a bunch of different things in it. The dumplings had nearly nothing inside of them, more like a clump of noodle. The General Tso's Chicken was alright. The Mongolian Beef was a bit sinuey. If we came back we'd all for the Filet Mignon with the Mongolian sauce.

Long Beach: Easy parking in this sizable attractive restaurant with an extensive menu of flavorsome Chinese food using the freshest of ingredients. I recommend eating here with a herd so you can try more dishes. It was just two of us so it was hard to narrow it down without reinforcements. Caramelized Black Pepper Chicken: So tender with a sauce that was drinkable. We tried. It was a toss up between that and the Filet Mignon. Next time we will go in beef mode. We both took home plenty of leftovers. Scallion pancakes: Four massive pieces of deliciousness. Oily on the fingers/worth it. I recommend a minimum of four people or it's going to follow you home as well. Service was immediate and personable. The food came out timely and piping hot. We were there around 8 PM on a Monday so it was fairly quiet. For the size of this restaurant, I could see it getting very busy and loud/Still worth it. It seemed as though we were the only ones who did not order the sesame flatbread. Yes, I do visual food cruises incognito. Again, we'll just have to bring hungry reinforcements next time. No alcohol, but no shortage of places for beer and spirits nearby. BevMo is a neighbor.

Came here for dinner around 8:45pm last Friday since my friends and I were working on a project nearby. Surprisingly they still let us dine in and the restaurant still remained open with other new customers coming in as we were eating. We were immediately seated and the server was really kind. We were a group of 5 and I definitely did not expect the portion sizes... they were HUGE! It's hard to tell in my pictures but trust me! All of the food was so delicious and flavorful, it's hard to choose a favorite. Everything came out to be steaming hot. It was roughly $20 per dish but the price is WORTH it considering it was very much shareable family style. We had leftovers for 2 days! Definitely would come back here again!!

Nomad Asian Bistro is by far one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Although I feel that it verges on Indo Chinese. I've been a regular there since at least 2017. It is located near PCH and Second Street in Long Beach, a couple hundred feet from BevMo, in the Same Plaza. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. It is a Mother-Daughter owned restaurant and was established in 2013. Jamilla Ma, the mother has an extensive experience in Asian cooking and a passion for combining classic flavors with contemporary techniques. They offer Asian cuisine with influences from China's Hui culture and a focus on fresh, handmade items like their Thin Sesame Flatbread. It is also the only Halal Chinese Restaurant in North America. So, they do not serve pork nor do they offer alcoholic beverages. The quality of their food draws people from all corners of SoCal and beyond. Dinner is always the busiest time and during the month of Ramadan, you can expect to wait an hour or more unless you show up an hour before breaking fast. The restaurant is spacious but yet Cozy. The lighting is comfortable and the earth tones on the walls as well as the simple Chinese decor makes the space very inviting. The setting is casual and family friendly. Noise level is moderate to very loud depending on the day and time. They have a large Tv on the wall with close caption that no one watches. They only serve family style meals. So, it is best to go with 2 or more people or take the family or a group of friends. Otherwise you may have lots of left overs. Every dish is large enough for 2-3 people. On a summer night, I Love sitting on their open air patio that is lit by string lights, while sharing a meal with friends and family under the stars. I could not start by describing the amazing menu. It is extensive and has every Chinese food dish imaginable. Beef, chicken, seafood, vegetarian, rice dishes, hand made noodles and endless combinations and flavors. I'm sure that I'm missing some things. (See pictures for actual full menu) They use the freshest ingredients and everything is made in house. They also have some delicious beverages such as the fresh pressed Ginger ale and their seasonal Peach Ice tea. The List goes on. Some of My favorite items on the Menu are the Hot and sour soup which is full of mushrooms, The orange chicken, The Pineapple fried rice with beef chicken and shrimp, The Pepper Mushroom beef and the chili Chicken. Everything is so delicious. The hand made noodles are a must. The service has always been great and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Nomad Asian Bistro for anyone who has not tried them yet. Happy Eating!!!

In a desolate forgotten area surrounded by newness. I read something along those lines on Yelp which guided me here. Had been meaning to go here after a friend told me they had gluten free Chinese marked on their menu. I went with my teenager and his friends. We each ordered a lunch special which came with a choice of soup. We all got egg drop, which had little veggies in it. I think that's a first. It was very good. And then we shared family style. For me this was a blessed experience because we could share and I never eat Chinese food because it's not worth being poisoned. The staff was both friendly and attentive. They had a robot that carried the dishes out- to mostly our table. Seemed to be programmed to our section which was cute. Oh, there's more food for us! J/k We had leftovers and we loved it all.

Nomad is our go to Asian restaurant in Long Beach. We've been coming here for years but finally decided to do a review. They have options to accommodate different dietary needs, such as Halal, gluten free and vegetarian. Some of our favorites are honey walnut shrimp, black bean sole filet, scallion pancakes, fried rice and spicy green beans. For drinks they have a legit Thai tea, really good fresh pressed ginger ale and Diet Coke (yay for the fountain!). The restaurant has a big dining area and can accommodate big parties (get a reservation). During the day, you can sit outside. They also make prayer rugs available.

Unassuming restaurant in a quiet corner of a pretty sparse mall; the kind of place that you'd walk past and not notice it. I'm sure glad to have found this place! We came here during the lunch hours and they serve lunch specials 7 days a week! While we were browsing the menu, one of the wait staff came over and checked on us if we were ready and asked if it was our first time there (yes). She recommended getting a couple of items from the lunch menu if we like to have a few dishes since the portions are pretty big and the lunch items get you the most bang out of your buck. Very sound advice! The lunch menu featured a good selection of dishes and we ended getting the honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon with black pepper sauce and kung pao three flavor (beef, chicken, shrimp). Each dish came with a soup and either white/brown rice or upgrade to egg fried rice. We got the egg drop soup as well as the hot sour soup and they were both tasty! We upgraded the egg fried rice and wow... quite impressed with the egg fried rice here. I was expecting the usual plain, white, mild egg fried rice but what came out was a brown-ish looking egg fried rice that's just so tasty! Of course the main dishes themselves were also outstanding! I really liked the juiciness and black pepper flavor of the filet mignon, the crispness of the walnut shrimp and the umami of the kung pao three flavor. I definitely would recommend each one of these dishes. We also got the fresh pressed ginger ale, which is the perfect, refreshing thirst quencher! Tasty food and great service.. what's not to like!

Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot…read more Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary
