    2 meat platter
    Jacob D.

I had been wanting to stop here for quite some time as I pass it all the time and love BBQ. This past Saturday was the day! Within walking distance from our local watering hole, we stopped and dined in. Service was excellent and the gals that were working were very friendly and efficient. This is an order at the counter type of place where you pay; however, the staff gives you a number and they deliver the food to your table. I opted for a sandwich, and they have two types of burgers on their menu (regular and BBQ). I opted for the BBQ which you get your choice of meat (tri-tip, brisket, etc). I opted for the brisket combo which was 15 bucks and comes with one side (I chose sweet potato fries). There was alot of meat piled on and you get a couple of BBQ sauces as well as a hot sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My friend chose the 2 meat platter with brisket and pork, which came with two sides (he chose mashed and mac n'cheese). It also came with bread and corn bread, all for 36.00, which I thought was pretty pricey. In any case, he enjoyed his meal, but I think I got just as much meat on my sandwich as he did on my plate, so I'd recommend getting a sandwich instead if you are on a budget or just don't feel like spending that amount of money. As for dessert, we opted to take the banana pudding home (8 bucks I believe) & it was a perfect serving for two. It was really good, but not as excellent as some of the BBQ places I have been to in TX. In any case, give this place a try! There is limited indoor dining but we did not have a problem getting a table (seemed to get alot of take out orders). I think there is a small parking lot, but I honestly don't remember as we were on foot. The area is also not the greatest and upon walking home it was getting dark and some sketchy peeps in the area so beware of your surroundings.

3rd time I've ordered from this place and they never disappoint!! Some of the best BBQ I've had and I even lived in Texas for 3 years! Coleslaw and fries were so fresh, brisket was perfection and the bbq sauce was the cherry on top! Always great portions and packaging too!

What was left of my plate smh

Long Beach Native and I'm always looking forward to exploring a hometown spot. This was my first time at the corner and I am sad to say the experience fell short. The staff were amazing! The parking was nonexistent but that was to be expected. The ambiance was nice as far as BBQ spots go. So how did it taste? Peach Lemonade - 4 out of 5 Passion Fruit Lemonade- 4 out of 5 Baked Beans - 3 out of 5 (BUSY) Had a lot of onions, crunch and other items not expected in baked beans. Greens - 3 out of 5 (outside of the lemonade this was the best thing on the plate.) Brisket - 3 out of 5 (it was dry and room temperature. More importantly it had a smoke ring but lacked flavor. No pepper crust or rich smoke flavors. Beef Ribs - (these were recommended as the popular item) 2 out of 5. TOUGH (I had to use a fork and knife and got tired so I only ate half of one), layered in BBQ Sauce to mask the lack of flavor. A real gut check here I was super disappointed. Extensive menu. Maybe too extensive though I was excited to see Hot Water Cornbread, Yams and other items listed. Plus the free refills didn't hurt. The problem was that it's didn't smell like BBQ, it didn't taste like BBQ. I truly wish them the best

The 2- and 3-meat dinners come with plenty. We enjoyed the brisket, ribs, chicken, and all the sides - hot water cornbread, collard greens, potato salad, and mac & cheese. The platters already come with bread as well. The brisket empanada and sauce were great.

This is how it usually looks. Beautiful with a great presentation.

So I eat here all the time. I've known the owner for years. And one of my favorite things is their Banana Pudding. I actually take it to other people's houses to give to people so I stopped by today to get a banana pudding and the girl made it for me fresh, even though I didn't ask for that... But when I got it to My Friends's house, there was no way I could give it to them. I don't know what was wrong with the girl today, but it looked like crap. It's like she took all these broken pieces and crumbs and just threw it on top of the Banana Pudding. Very disappointing. Usually, *Ken's presentation is really nice but today I don't know. I had to stop by Ralph's and pick up a cake for my friend.

Brisket, Cajun fries, potato salad, and mac n cheese.

Whether it's dine in or takeout, you order at the register. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. I really liked their potato salad, mac n cheese and the garlic bread roll. The Cajun fries were nice and crispy but I do wish they had a kick to them, like you'd expect with Cajun fries. They tasted like regular fries (but still tasty) The brisket tasted good, it didn't feel too greasy but it was a bit tough. I heated up the leftovers the next day and they still tasted good but I do wish the meat was softer. The time that I dined in, it was nice and quiet. Would be down to come here again.

Found this hidden gem. Enjoyed their food! You have to see and taste for your self. Service was good. It's a very chill place and I would recommend this place!

I used the BOGO deal on DoorDash and ordered two BBQ Smoked Meat Burgers, one with brisket and the other with grilled chicken. Both were very delicious and the fries were dense. They were a perfect addition for the burgers. The brisket was tasty and the sauce was sweet & tangy. I also enjoyed the chicken, house-made pickles, and macaroni & cheese.

Heres a screenshot of your number and the hold time. Horrible service and definitely disappointed.
    Chris R.

Ordered through door dash and called once I order to make sure I didn't have the salsa with onions on the tacos for my kids right after I ordered. Once I called I was put on hold for over 15 min and the young girl who answered never picked up. My delivery person had time to pick up the order and drop it and still no pick up. I made it a point to record the time so you guys can fix this. Horrible service and will not be ordering again. Why have a phone when you don't answer or just place the customer on hold hoping for them to hang up

I've ordered from this place on Uber eats countless times, it was time for me to finally come in and have their delicious food in person The parking is a little difficult. I would just recommend finding street parking vs using their tiny parking lot. Which, you could get boxed in and have to wait for that person to leave. By their side entrance you can see the smoker and you can smell how delicious the bbq is The atmosphere is cute. It looks like your standard BBQ place. It has cute signs all over the walls You go up to the counter and order. It did take us a while since there was a ton of different options. All their sides are delicious. So the southern in me had to order a bunch of sides. I highly recommend their dirty rice Once we were done ordering we picked out a place to sit. Another worker brought out our drinks. All the workers were extremely nice. The girl behind the counter came over and even asked if we wanted a refill (we ordered fountain drinks) they also have a bunch of different tea, milk teas coffee and lattes on the menu I ordered the burger, it's delicious. It's usually my go to on Uber eats. We actually had to keep going back up to the counter to order more food. We went back up to get an order of cornbread and a couple extra sides to try This place is locally owned and operated and they have a pretty large catering menu. So next time you're having a craving for some BBQ, come support a locally owned restaurant

Tried a new BBQ place with my sister and we absolutely loved it! We got a three-meat dinner platter with brisket, hot links, and baby back ribs. The brisket was like butter. It broke apart so easily and literally melted in my mouth. The baby back ribs were really meaty, and the hot links were delicious. They also came with these buttered rolls that tasted like buttered Hawaiian rolls. SOOOOO good! For sides we had mac and cheese (it was just decent), dirty rice (really good), and mashed potatoes that were very flavorful with a strong garlic taste. We also tried the brisket empanadas and they were really good. Savory with cheese and full of flavor. It was plenty of food for us to share there, and we still had leftovers to take home. I got a mango lemonade that was really good and refreshing, and not overly sweet. My sister got a Mango Wango, which is basically like a mango smoothie. It tasted similar to my mango lemonade but frozen. She really liked it. The pricing wasn't bad at all. The decor of the place was really cool too, kind of woody western vibes. My sister also got banana pudding to go (she doesn't recommend it), but everything else was a 10/10. Good service, Definitely recommend! I can't wait to go back.

Two combo with beef ribs, tri tip and sweet Hawaiian rolls.

I was pleasantly surprised at this wonderful, cozy BBQ spot in Long Beach. I'm constantly on the lookout for great barbecue spot. This one fills the bill to a T. I was really surprised at how delicious and juicy the meets were. I was also happy with the selection. They're homemade barbecue sauce is really delicious. I like the spicy one. I also love the greens and dirty rice. They were delicious and not too salty. The jalapeno cornbread was also really nice and not dry. It was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Just a hint of sweetness. I will definitely return. The restaurant also has a really great selection of beverages to choose from. They have three to four parking spaces next to the restaurant and there is also street parking available depending on the time of day you go.

My husband usually comes here and I've had their bbq chicken sandwich a couple times before; but oh my goodness -their chicken burrito. I couldn't stop thinking about it the following day. The rice and beans and cheese along with that smoked bbq chicken was quite magnificent. Good customer service. Seating is ok, not as comfortable but I'm ok because the food is worth sitting on a bench.

He was kind, polite, and carried himself with such warmth -- and yes, those curls were beautiful. He set the tone for the entire experience. Demetrius seated us, and our server Joe took great care of us. For starters, we ordered the wedge salad and the meatballs. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the grilled salmon with bok choy and mashed potatoes, and the steak sandwich with French fries. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. And last but definitely not least -- thank you, Demetrius, for noticing my parking time had expired and getting me that extra 15 minutes. You saved me a ticket. You're a true gem. I'll be back to Saint & Second very soon.

The Bake Mac & Cheese is a must-order--the crunchy topping is easily the best part and gives it such a great texture. We also tried the Grilled Provoleta. Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. If I was in the area, I would return to The Attic for dinner. My friend and I had a very welcoming and positive experience in terms of the service and food respectively at this establishment.

There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

The service was great. Everyone was quick and attentive and really nice. Since we made it for happy hour we were able to get some zucchini sticks for $5. They were crispy and delicious. Really flavorful and soft on the inside. I got the meatloaf Sam- which which was HUGE. My husband got the Tuesday special which was a smash burger with fries and a drink for $15.99. He got a margarita as his drink so he got a great deal. The burger was a little small but he ate the other half of my giant sandwich so it worked out. The meatloaf sandwich had a delicious crispy sourdough bread with a lot of melted cheese. I added some ranch as I thought it was a bit dry but overall it was good. It came with a big helping of fries as well and I got the garlic fries. They were very garlicky but so good with the ranch. My parents got the Cobb salad and the turkey pop pie. My mom didn't love the pop pie, I think because it wasn't really a pie- just a dish with biscuits on top but the Cobb salad was really hearty with a lot of toppings and it filled them up plenty. They ended up taking most of the pop pie to go. This place has a lot of great deals so make sure you check them out. I think Thursday's kids eat free so it can get a little crazy then but the menu is great as there is so much to choose from so everyone can get what they want!

From the moment we sat down, Chris made the experience exceptional. We were completely torn on what to order (because honestly, everything looked amazing), and he was so patient, kind, and genuinely helpful while guiding us through the menu. Thanks to his spot-on recommendations, we ended up ordering a few delicious items -- and that spritzy mimosa? Absolutely top tier! Chris was friendly, polished, and incredibly professional, elevating the entire visit. Not only did he share fantastic food and drink suggestions, but he even sprinkled in some bonus tips on achieving and maintaining perfect hair -- now that's above and beyond service! The ambiance was cute, cozy, and peaceful -- the perfect vibe for a quick birthday weekend pit stop before heading to another lunch reservation. We will absolutely be back, and we're definitely hoping for the full "Chris Experience" again. Thank you, Chris, for making the start of my birthday weekend so memorable!
