Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

The service was attentive and friendly and it was nice having the dishware and silverware switched out after every course. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long while. I actually rank every restaurant in comparison to my experiences at Heritage because I think Heritage is truly the gold standard for exceptional dining. So I have been so excited to try Olive and Rose! They have fun pool parties and different events throughout the week. And tonight they had a pottery decorating sgraffito class in the courtyard by the pool which was tons of fun! I saw they had braised octopus on the menu and had to try it. My single favorite bite of food was a scallop I had from Heritage so I know Chef Petty knows how to prepare seafood. The octopus was delicious. It was similar to Spanish octopus but topped with a bright salad green oil/sauce that gave it a different kick. This is probably my second favorite octopus in all of LA. I wish there was a bit more of the octopus itself, but it was still delicious. The beans and potatoes on the dish were great complements. The service is attentive and quick. You can eat inside or out on the patio, I opted for the latter since the clay pottery was outside. Either way is lovely. I definitely want to come back for more events! The only downside is parking is TOUGH. Be prepared to circle for a bit.

When I heard Heritage had received a Michelin star, I jumped at the chance to take my family. They all loved it and it was a hit from start to finish. It is definitely won't it to hear reservation. The best part, everyone on staff is truly friendly, helpful and attentive. The dining room is a little bit dark. It's a small price to pay for the amazing food from tonight's dinner. The flavors continue to be creative, inventive, and unforgettable. I never thought I'd ever enjoy passion fruit and crudo together, but I'm a fan! The sea urchin toast intimidated me but was actually a perfect little bite. And dessert was a work of art.

Knowing that it's…read moredifficult to find parking we arrived early and circled around for 10 minutes, our friends thought there will be valet but none at front. The space was very small, intimate setting but frankly just noisy as ceiling was low and everything was hard finishes. We had to talk loud to hear each other. So as servers presented the dish, they were not talking loud enough and most of time we couldn't hear what they said the dishes were, it was simply not clear. The food, was decent, I would have given 3-4 star for the food. However, half way through the course, I told our server we are worried with this little amount of 7 dishes would not fill us, I'm worried we would be hungry. And I really have to warn everyone if you come hungry with an appetite, trust my review and other reviews on here that mentioned the same thing, it's NOT enough food! We had dined at many Michelin star and fine dining restaurants, if they have a set menu we know each plate has small portion with nice presentation, but they will have many more courses to fill us up. Heritage only has 7 dishes and that's including dessert, with this price you could just have included 1-2 dishes that would be better. We went home and immediately cooked ramen to eat, that shows you how unsatisfying this meal was. Now moving onto the service, you really need to train your waiters and waitresses! Both me and my friend went to restroom separate times, my frd went down the hallway and passed by 2 servers and no one acknowledged him. If you are at any fine dining restaurants, and you left your seat the server immediately knows you are looking for a restroom and will direct you. They completely ignored him and looked sideways, he ended up walking all the way to the back of the kitchen and was confused then the kitchen staff told him you missed it, it was midway thru the hallway. Moreover, the restroom sign was white sign on a white door, it's so easy to miss it! The same thing happened to me too, I was looking for restroom and standing next to the kitchen counter, no one acknowledged me and I had to get their attention to ask if this is a restroom with me pointing at the door. You get the idea how unobvious that sign was and how bad the service was. I'm talking about one star Michelin, definitely not worth it in our opinion. Finally, that's right, I'm not done yet. The space is horribly designed with ventilation. Mid-way through the course, it was smokey in the dining area and I had tears in my eyes and had to blink multiple times. Just fyi, our table was at the far end from the kitchen. I looked far into the kitchen, they only had one window half opened in the back and all the smoke smell was going into the dining area. All of us felt it but we didn't complain as we were trying our best to enjoy our time out. When we left and stepped into the car, I smelled the smoke on my jacket, on my inside shirt (I had the jacket on the whole time), and smoke all over my hair! As soon as we got home, we had to switch out all the clothes, cooked and ate the ramen, then jumped into shower and tossed all clothes in washer to get rid of the Smokey smell. Omg this place is horribly designed without adequate verification just really bad overall. If you still decide to go after reading this, for whatever reason, just make sure you have a full lunch of the day before dinner, know not to wear nice clothes (as you will need to dry clean them immediately), and understand the time required to circle around small streets endlessly to look for parking. I honestly want to give it 1 star Yelp review out of all the negative, but the additional 1 was for the chef that the food is decent. But again, do not recommend, take your date and celebrate the special moment elsewhere!

It was very easy and a very short walking distance They are only open for dinner (they open at 4 pm) They have a really good happy hour menu (4-5:30) They have a really nice wine menu and they have a full bar This place is really great for special occasions. I loved the upscale New York atmosphere Our lovely waiter, Scott immediately greeted us. I was so happy we had him. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, the building, making small talk and etc. when I asked what drink he recommended he said they have a full bar, but he did say the espresso martini. I told him that's my go to drink but I can't really do caffeine. So Scott had it made decaf. This was a life saver and it was the first time a waiter ever asked if I wanted it decaf We already knew what we came for. We wanted their tomahawk. This is where my mother and I usually have beef with each other (yes, a steak joke). Because we each want it cooked a different way. But it came out nicely done, we were both happy. Scott definitely knew what to tell the chef about how we wanted it cooked so we were both happy The drinks I ordered came out extremely fast Both drinks were amazing -cosmopolitan -espresso martini (decaf) The- BISTECCA DI TOMAHAWK Which is a Grilled 52 oz Bone In Ribeye Steak, Italian Chimichurri Sauce, Roasted Carrots and Homemade Spaghetti Romana (the pasta it came with was absolutely amazing) And, as far as tomahawks go, this was very reasonable price wise. Also, it came with pasta and carrots. Most places just sell the steak by itself and you have to pay for sides -they brought out a complimentary bread basket -we also ordered a side of broccoli -we did not order dessert, but they did bring out a complimentary birthday dessert The service was great The building is beautiful The atmosphere was great The food was amazing Overall, I would come back, but I would reserve it for special occasions. I'd love to come back and try their pasta

We were walking by yesterday and stopped to look at the menu and decided we would give it a try. The decor is very much as you would expect in a French bistro. There are blue checked tablecloths and art on the walls, and a long bar along one wall. There is a gourmet market attached, which has wonderful gift items (reasonable priced!!), and, of course French food products and wine (with win be tasting!!). I think one sign was that French was being spoken by many in this restaurant. We were greeted right away, and we're told we could pick out table. Our server came quickly, and was so nice and accommodating. We came in a Monday night, when select tapas, draft beers, and bottles of wine are 50% off. Neither of us was very hungry, so hubby ordered a French beer (so sorry--i can't remember the name) and we ordered a few tapas. We got: *Escargot in garlic parsley butter with warm bread *Soupe A L'oignon Gratinee * Lamb pops in wine reduction served with ratatouille *Beef bourguignon First, let me say that the food was amazing!!!! So delicious! There was so much garlic butter to sop up with our warm bread and escargot---deeeelush! The lamb pops were perfectly cooked and the wine reduction was also perfection. The beef bourguinon was the best I've had, and the tapas size, which is supposed to be a half of the regular size, was so big. There was soooo much beef--no skimping here. I know we will be back many times. We left so full and happy!

I will say that as a vegetarian, the menu was unfortunately too authentic--just like in France, it is tricky making a meal out of the selection. You can order croque monsieur, croque madame, French dip, onion soup, escargot, and frog's legs, but for vegetarian options, there was tomato bisque and a beet salad. Limited but good. I dipped into pescatarian realm and enjoyed very much the tapenade (olives and anchovies) with baguette slices. The family run bistro adjoins a shop with imported French snacks and small gift items. It also has a wine tasting room. If you are missing a taste of France, this is worth the trip to Seal Beach.

One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

While it was never my personal favorite, I continued going because my wife enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our experience on Sunday, May 3, 2026 definitively closed that chapter. We arrived around 5:45 pm, at a time when the restaurant was clearly not busy. A young gentleman at reception greeted us warmly and was about to seat us, but was abruptly interrupted by a woman who directed us--without explanation--to sit along the wall. We waited there for about 10 minutes, despite a clearly prepared table sitting ready just a few feet away. When we were finally seated, it was at that very table next to the reception desk. Throughout the interaction, the woman showed no courtesy--no smile, no "please," no acknowledgment, and no "thank you for waiting." After years of patronage, this level of indifference was disappointing enough to ensure we won't be returning.
