This was our first time here, since our usual spots in the area were booked for dinner. I'll give credit where it's due, the ambiance was very inviting and the interior was very nicely decorated. I felt comfortable and at ease indoors, and the outdoor section seemed very comfortable as well. I went with a rather large party, and at least half of us seemed displeased with our dishes. The portions were generally on the smaller side, inconsistent, and lacking in flavor. That's not to say it's all bad though, the prosciutto melon appetizer was savory, and the lasagna and the mushroom ravioli were satisfying! I did order a tiramisu ladyfinger cake which I was a fan of as well. The service could have used some improvement. I don't believe we were offered refills or asked whether anything was needed after we initially received our orders, and it did not seem particularly busy to the point where the waitstaff would be incapable of dropping by. All things considered, La Traviata was enjoyable in some aspects but it was not much to write home about. read more

I had a pasta dish, I don't even remember which one (and I looked back at the menu) so maybe that says something? I had 2 cocktails, a rum one that wasn't that good and then their biggest specialty, a drink with a sugar rim and it was really good. We ended with the tiramisu for dessert and it's really terrible. This spacious restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating is in a quieter part of DTLB. We went on a Friday night and sat outside with our dog. We took our own wine and corkage was $20. The service and food was excellent. The waiters were friendly and efficient. The owner came out to talk to us. We had beef carpaccio for appetizer. I had sausage pasta with vodka cream sauce and it was delicious with huge portions. My partner had lobster ravioli and said that it was outstanding. For appetizers, we ordered the crispy brussel sprouts which was our fave, burrata bruschetta, and Caesar salad. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, the portion was just right, this dish was very good and highly recommended. My other half ordered the barolo short ribs and loved it. My brother ordered the lobster mac n cheese, he thought it was ok so probably the least favorite dish. The tomato sauce had a delicious garlic flavor and included lightly cooked fresh peeled tomatoes which made for an excellent texture. The bread was also delicious. The restaurant is in an old building and is charming. The rest room was extremely clean! I also enjoyed the live and really excellent gypsy guitar music. I soo wanted to love this restaurant. Their service was very good. We were early and our server was juggling tables and bartending duties. She was communicative and helpful. The interior is very nice and the music was relaxing. I loved the whole vibe and had high hopes. Sadly, the food was mediocre. The salad was wilted and was supposed to have cranberries, but they put on raisins. I had the Pork saltimbocca which was very salty and the "risotto" that was supposed to be with it was also not good. Our cocktails were just okay. The server again was very good and offered to substitute something for me, but we were in a hurry. On the positive side, my companion had the Lobster pasta and said it was very good. I was invited here for a Christmas party. My cousin was throwing. I love the bar and how much excitement. It brought to the restaurant. We had a private dining area and our own bartender. The meal for the evening was served family style. The entries included meat lasagna, a vegetarian lasagna, spicy pene pasta and a chicken Alfredo. What I really enjoyed the most was the Caesar salad, which was freshly made with anchovies.This classic salad is rarely made like this any more. It was the most expensive item on the menu but it was my b day so why not. Husband had the lobster stuffed tortelli with truffle oil. Certainly could have done without it. I got to sit outside; thankfully, they still have outdoor seating from the start of COVID-19. The interiors weren't too busy, but I preferred the outside for fresh air. I walked here, but if you're looking to park, you might get lucky wtih street parking, but more often than not, you may have to circle around a bit to find nearby parking. I believe I had a moment to chat with the owner, who is very friendly and let me know that they'll be opening up their take-out store too very soon with the prices about 50% off from the sit-down prices. That's super excited to hear! The service was good, with accommodating servers who were helpful and friendly when I had questions about menu items/recommendations. The ambiance is semi-formal, with the inside seating being a bit more upscale than the outside one. Either way, there's music playing. I highly recommend making a reservation as this place is quite small and very popular. The service was excellent. We've been here many times and it never disappoints us. I ate the complimentary bread too quick to take a picture of it. The berry salad is seasonal so if it's available you need to order it. The salad is enough for two people to share and is very refreshing. The lasagna is very hearty and full of flavor. I love how they use two sauces a ragu meat style and a white creamy sauce. My husband ordered the spaghetti carbonara which was as equally delicious. We wouid of loved a dessert but were too full. There's nothing better then homemade pasta.
